Actor, director, producer and writer Henry Bean was born on August 3, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
He received his formal education at Yale and Stanford. For more than thirty years he worked in Hollywood and until a certain time he was valued at the Dream Factory as a specialist in writing and final polishing of scripts.
But then a Henry Bean movie.
"Fanatic" He won the Golden George at the XXIII Moscow Film Festival, becoming a sensation. The film tells about the struggle between good and evil in a Jewish boy who dreamed of becoming a rabbi, and became a cruel skinhead, the leader of a gang of neo-Nazis, remaining at heart a failed rabbi.
The film was written by Henry Bean himself. He once learned of a neo-fascist who made a terrible oath: If anyone found out that he was Jewish, he would kill himself. Soon he jumped out of the skyscraper window. This happened after an exposé about him. This story formed the basis of the plot. Born into an orthodox Jewish family, Bean explained that he would not have given the script to any other director, so he made the film himself. At the age of 55, he made his directorial debut.
His second directorial work, shot again according to his own script, was the film Noise (2007). Among his screenplays are the films Undercover (1992) (with Michael Tolkien) and Basic Instinct-2 (2006) (with Liora Barish and Joe Esterhaz).
As an actor, Henry Bean starred in three films: The Rise of Venus (1995), Couch in New York (1996), and Fanatic.
