Director Bakhtiyer Khudoinazarov was born in 1965 in Dushanbe. He worked as an assistant director at the film studio "Tajikfilm", was a correspondent of radio and television. In 1989 he graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, where he studied in the studio of I. Talankin. He made his first film, the short film Jokers, in 1985. His diploma work was the medium-length film "You Believe - Do Not Believe", and his debut film "Brother", shot in 1991, was shown at several film festivals

In 1989 he graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, where he studied in the studio of I. Talankin. He made his first film, the short film Jokers, in 1985. His diploma work was the medium-length film "You Believe - Do Not Believe", and his debut film "Brother", shot in 1991, was shown at several film festivals and was awarded the Grand Prix in Mannheim. The film “Kosh ba Kosh” was presented at the Venice Film Festival “Silver Lion” and was nominated for the “Felix” award in the nomination “Best Young Film”. Great audience interest was caused by the picture “Moon Dad”, in which Bakhtiyer Khudoinazarov gathered an international cast, and for the main role, Mamlakat, invited one of the brightest young Russian actresses – Chulpan Khamatova.
