When the actress was 19 years old, her father died, so she packed up and moved to Paris, where she studied at the Theatre Academy under Peter Brook. Simultaneously with her studies, Giovanna worked in the theater and took part in many castings to get into the film business.
The stage debut of the actress is the role of Ophelia in the production of “Qui est là”, which is based on Shakespeare’s work “Hamlet”. Together with the troupe, the young actress toured almost all European countries. In 1996, she was awarded the Coppola Prati Prize, where the jury was chaired by renowned theatre critic Franco Quadri.
