Representatives of older generations probably adored Armenian cartoons based on the fairy tales of Hovhannes Tumasyan, and their children hardly missed the remarkable series of educational cartoons. The creator of these animated masterpieces is the talented, extraordinary and uncompromising Robert Arshavirovitch Sahakyants.
The future director, screenwriter and artist was born on August 30, 1950 in Baku, where he spent his childhood. Since 1964, Armen Sahakyants began to live in Yerevan, and in 1970 he got a job as an animated artist at the Armenfilm film studio, where, in fact, his creative development took place. In 1972, Sahakyants became an animated artist who quickly gained fame in the USSR, and years later in the CIS. Robert Sahakyantz was the artistic director of the Armenfilm animated film association.
The films of Robert Sahakyanets were awarded many awards both in the countries of the former USSR and in Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Japan.
In addition to creating cartoons, Sahakyants acted as a scriptwriter and director of many clips and videos for ORT and Armenian television. He created a series of painted clips Yellow Submaryan.
Robert Sahakyants received the title of Honored Artist in 1987, and People’s Artist of Armenia in 2008.
Robert Sahakianz admitted that he never hoped or oriented in his work to power. Above all, he saw himself as a man who at all times, no matter what, had to feed his family and plant his tree. If the authorities simply do not help to work, this, as the famous animator believed, is not a reason for idleness and distress.
Robert Arshavirovitch Saayantz passed away on September 24, 2009, after a severe heart surgery, after he was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm. /
