Tarsem Singh was born in India on May 26, 1961. Tarsem’s father worked in Iran, where the future director spent his childhood years. He studied Tarsem in Shimla (Himalayas) at Bishop Cotton School, after which he entered the University of Delhi. When he was 24 years old, he moved to the United States. In the city of Passadina, California, Tarsem Singh graduated from an art college and began to shoot video clips. His most famous works in this genre are Sweet Lullaby (Deep Forest), Cold On (En Vogue).

He studied Tarsem in Shimla (Himalayas) at Bishop Cotton School, after which he entered the University of Delhi. When he was 24 years old, he moved to the United States. In the city of Passadina, California, Tarsem Singh graduated from an art college and began to shoot video clips. His most famous works in this genre are Sweet Lullaby (Deep Forest), Cold On (En Vogue). R.E.M.’s most successful music video, “Losing My Religion,” won six nominations at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards. Tarsem Singh admits that the style of this video was strongly influenced by the images of paintings by Tarkovsky and Caravaggio.
The next step of the director was advertising. Singh shot commercials for famous brands, including “Levi’s”, “Motorola”, “Pepsi”, “Coca-Cola”, “Nike” and others. He still shoots commercials to this day.
In the full-length film, Tarsem Singh made his debut in 2000 with the film The Cage, where Jennifer Lopez played the main role. The film tells the story of a woman psychologist who took on the role of a serial killer. My second painting is
- Singh has been filming for years. It was first shown in September 2006 at the Toronto Film Festival. The film was released in several countries in limited release, and in 2008 on DVD. To fully convey his vision of the film to the audience, Tarsem independently wrote the script, directed and became its producer. The basis for the plot was the script for the Bulgarian film Yo-ho-ho, directed by Zako Heskia. The filming of “Overseas” was conducted in twenty-four countries. In 2007, the film was awarded at the Berlin Film Festival and the Catalan International Film Festival. In 2008, Tarsem, as the director of the second group, shot scenes in India for the film The Mysterious Story of Benjamin Button.
Tarsem Singh's third feature film, War of the Gods: The Immortals, was released in November 2011. The film was shot using 3D-technologies based on ancient Greek myths that tell about the exploits of Theseus.
Along with his work as a director, Tarsem Singh is the commercial director of Radio Media.
