Hungarian director Pal Sándor was born on October 19, 1939 in Budapest. Since 1964, he has made more than 50 films.
The first picture of the director came out in 1964 and was called “Breakthrough”. Then Pal shot paintings of a diverse genre “Three stories about romance”, “Eared”, “Here was King Matthias”, “Games on the street”, “Love Emilia Odor!”, “Letter from abroad”, “Primadonna”, “Memories of the resort”, “Optimistic tragedy”.

"Memories of the resort" . The film tells about the first months after the fall of Soviet Hungary. The young revolutionary Janos, forced to hide under a woman’s name and wear a woman’s dress, gets into the resort resort “Hercules’ Waters”, where situations of comicality are mixed with the true tragedy of war. The film won the Silver Bear prize at the Berlin Film Festival.
Before presenting his famous 2009 film Noah’s Ark, the director did not shoot anything for nineteen years and was engaged in production. The film was about an old man who decided to participate in the popular show “The Best Grandfather of the Country”, and what eventually came out of it. The picture was shot not on the usual film, but immediately on DVD.
On account of the director of more than 24 international awards, including the Silver Hugo of the Chicago Film Festival, the FIPRESCI Award in Cannes, and the Critics Award of the Karlovy Vary Festival.
