Kim Rae Won began his career, starring in the drama “I” with Ahn Jae Mo as a teenager. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a basketball player, but the dream was not destined to come true: during another training session, Re Won injured the ligaments on his leg.
At the very beginning of his career, Ra Won was noticed among a bunch of newcomers just because of his appearance. However, this state of affairs did not suit him. He seriously took up work, studied acting, graduated from Chunan University of Performing and Theatre Arts and was able to take a special place among Korean actors. He got his first major role in 2000, playing in the film Plum Color with actress Pae Du Na.
He also starred in the film “Flower Shadow” directed by Kawai Hayato. The film was released on March 8, 2008 in Japan. This is the second love film featuring Japanese and Korean actors. The first "First Snow" starred Lee Jun Ki and Miyazaki Aoi.
On August 22, 2011, Kim Rae-won was discharged from the Korean army.
On January 14, 2013 on the show “Healing Camp” SBS Kim Ra Won spoke about his first love, he met with the actress at the beginning of his career.
Rae Won hinted that the actress was a year older than him and that he appeared with her in the same scene early in his career. Kim Rae-won and Lee Yo-won played together in the drama Smell of a Man and then in School 2.
“I even jumped into the Khan River after we broke up,” he said. Then he said she was married now. Of course, he did not name her. But his words sparked controversy over whether the actor acted ethically.
Some said favorably, "My heart rejoiced at Kim Rae-won's pure love," while others said, "It's too much to reveal so many details about an actress who is still in show business and currently married."
One official said the "confessions" went too far. We expect to see some touching moments of the show, and the tale of Kim Rae-won's first love could have been cut, but the show's producers have gone too far this time around.
On January 21, 2015, the film Kannam 1970 premiered, where Kim Rae-won played alongside Lee Min-ho.
