Valery Vladimirovich Medvedev was born on March 16, 1923 in the Tyumen region, in the city of Ishim. In 1940, he enrolled in the directing faculty of the State Institute of Theater Art named after A.V. Lunacharsky, but his studies were interrupted by the Great Patriotic War. After demobilization, Valery Medvedev graduated from GITIS in 1952 and worked in the Moscow Theater named after the Moscow Soviet, starred in films. Valery Vladimirovich Medvedev was born on March 16, 1923 in the Tyumen region, in the city of Ishim. In 1940, he enrolled in the directing faculty of the State Institute of Theater Art named after A.V. Lunacharsky, but his studies were interrupted by the Great Patriotic War. After demobilization, Valery Medvedev graduated from GITIS in 1952 and worked in the Moscow Theater named after the Moscow Soviet, starred in films. In children's literature he came in 1957, his first book in the genre of fiction was the story-fairy tale "Barankin, be a man!", published in 1962. Subsequently, this very popular story was translated into almost 30 languages and awarded the diploma of the international competition named after G.-H. Andersen. In 1983, the book by Valery Medvedev "Fantasy of Barankin" was awarded the State Prize of the RSFSR named after N. K. Krupskaya. Among the other works of the writer are the books "Voices", "The Caterpillar of the Third Kind", the story "Barankin, Be a Man!", "Captain Sovri-head", "Vovka Vesnushkin in the Land of Window Men", "Super-Adventures of the Supercosmonaut".
