How important it is to be the master of your happiness.
Oh, good old Jim Carrey... How many generations have grown up enjoying the sometimes dumb, yet sincere comedies of this diamond? That is so much that God himself cannot count.
Directing favorably distinguishes “Bruce Almighty” from other films with Kerry, because here the creators had a huge field for creative experiments. The main character with an inferiority complex and limitless possibilities. What could be better? Constant crazy antics and desires, which were immediately fulfilled in reality, nobility amuse with its originality mixed with absurdity. Not by will, but by the end you think about what you would do with such power. In addition to the obvious source of almost all the humorous scenes, we also have a good half of the film. And she won't disappoint. The classic of Tom Shadyak, who shot almost all the “golden” tapes with Jim Carrey, from “Bruce” to “Ace”. If someone likes this style, then all the components are in place.
Acting. Jim Carrey. We could not go on, for old Jim in his usual "unusual" role, but there is one "but". I'd rather have three. Freeman, Aniston and Karel. Each of these three actors perfectly complemented the film. Freeman with calm and good-natured judgment, as if he had always been the wisest creature on earth. Aniston with her gentle and lifelike care, which she honed playing in Friends. Well, and Karel with his serious, but funny stupid look, with which he will succeed in the “Office”.
The truth is simple and very important: trust in God, but do not be fooled. The whole story revolves around the character of Kerry, who believed that the world was unfair to him and that it was all the fault of a bearded man in the sky. As a result, it turned out that God is not easy and life is a multifaceted thing. In terms of history, everything is easy and humorous, but at the same time instructive. This style of narration with its accessibility is like a parable, which is very symbolic.
Bruce Almighty will certainly appeal to Jim Carrey’s fans, and for those unfamiliar with it, it’s an almost perfect first film. These are the pies!
What's the movie about?
Bruce (Jim Carrey), a TV reporter with ambition and career prospects, is a middle-class man dating a decent girl, but he doesn’t appreciate it, constantly berating God for any trouble in his life. God descends to Bruce in the guise of Morgan Freeman and offers to take his position for a week.
Why watch?
The conflict in the film, of course, is very shaky. After reading the description of the plot, namely, what kind of life the main character has (a simple job in the media, excellent housing, a caring girl with external parameters Jennifer Aniston), it becomes difficult to empathize with this ungrateful asshole. But on the other hand, not appreciating what you have and always wanting more is such a familiar feeling. How many of us are so ungrateful walking this mortal planet? And in general, this is a comedy and just another benefit of Jim Carrey. Even Freeman with Aniston is nothing more than scenery and your final attitude towards the film will be directly proportional to the presence or lack of sympathy for the rubber face of Kerry.
In the dynamics of the film is definitely not denied. The jokes go on in thick and slender rows, but the two decades since the film's release create a kind of negative flair around its plot - as if God only indulges in the aspirations of white narcissistic Americans whose prayers are primarily about winning the lottery or growing their stock portfolio. Don’t be exactly like Bruce: having finally, like him, more power and means, reward yourself with various neishtyaks – dress like a dummy in a boutique window, teach your dog to pee in the toilet and turn your car into a Ferrari – and immediately after that, be sure to show care for the blind homeless man who lounges in front of your office.

Bruce Almighty is a film about a man who gained mind-blowing power over the world, but could not cope with this power, because his interests were limited only to himself. Because of his actions, Bruce provokes disasters, natural phenomena, social unrest and everything that disturbs the world balance. Nothing in nature is done just like that, each action follows a different action, and this work clearly shows that man should not disturb the balance that nature has built. However, the main quintessence of the work is egoism, that is, focusing only on their own problems, because of which people die, quarrel, divorce, fight and commit other inhumane actions. In order to survive, a person, a biosocial being, needs to see someone in society other than himself, and also accept that there may be other opinions, other values. If a person, or a society, fails to at least take an alternative viewpoint, terrible things happen, as is unfortunately happening right now.
To sum up, I can distinguish three main messages of the film:
Are there any bad movies with Jim Carrey? This one didn't get there either. It just so happens that even a religious topic, which can be a serious cause for criticism, was overlooked.
There are a number of films where Jim Carrey practically does not use his talent for reincarnation and hyperflexible facial expressions. This movie is one of those.
Combining comedy, philosophy, deep meaning, a clear message to the viewer and all this in such an easy form thanks to our genius is one of the best projects!
Director Tom Shadyak gave us more than one role of Kerry, worked with him in many projects, each of which turned out great. It is a sense of harmony and a certain trait that you can not go beyond, a sense of balance that was felt in the script, in dialogue, and in the combination of humor-drama, and in the dynamism of the frame – an undoubted talent that was transferred to the whole team.
Actors who do not overplay, the cameraman (Dean Semler), who is a master of extremes, screenwriters (Steve Koren, Mark O’Keefe, Steve Odekerk), who left from the novel, on which the film is made, only the most necessary, important and clear.
Even the editing (Scott Hill), who apparently only worked seriously on this film, was on par.
Well, to talk about the magnificent Morgan Freeman, who just played God, is meaningless: it seems that this actor is almost all over the world associated with wisdom and philosophical slowness.
The perfect word for this movie is Harmonious. No more, no more. I recommend it even to teenagers!

Bruce Almighty is a comedy that will 100% cheer you up. Everything is gorgeous here: humor, music, script, actors. Especially actors.
Comedy King Jim Carrey played the pessimistic TV news anchor Bruce. After being fired from his job, he decides to challenge God himself, blaming him for all his misfortunes. To Bruce’s surprise, the Almighty answers his call and gives him a chance to fulfill the role of God himself.
Every conversation, every scene with Kerry makes you smile. By the way, many scenes with Kerry became cult. For example, a scene where Bruce approaches the moon (to create a suitable atmosphere for a date), responds to letters at the speed of light (to do God’s work), etc. However, laughter is not all the emotions that the film gives. By the end of the film, the actor gives the viewer the opportunity to believe in the hero’s experiences, that he has changed and repented.
As for Morgan Freeman, he played the role of God at the highest level. As always, charismatic and magnificent. I sometimes think that it was from these films that a certain stereotype went, that Freeman is taken to films to explain the plot to the viewer.
In fact, it was Kerry and Freeman’s blow that made this film so soulful and at the same time funny. It’s hard to imagine what would have happened if Carrey and Freeman had been replaced by other actors. The film would probably have failed.
Find a little nostalgia today and watch the movie. You won't regret it.
Tom Shadyak made a really great, kind and funny movie. A film that I love with all my heart and which is a real cure for a bad mood. This movie has it all: Jennifer Aniston for drama, Jim Carrey for comedy and Morgan Freeman who just explains everything.
“Bruce Almighty” is a truly unique and unique product, the success of which, unfortunately, could not be repeated by subsequent paintings with the same ideas (give a person superpower), for example: “I can do anything” or “Evan Almighty”.
In the center of the plot is Bruce Nolan, and he is a very ordinary person. If you think about it, it’s not so bad: hands, feet, a job, a roof over your head, a loving woman, a car and even a dog. And it would seem that more is needed for happiness, because some can not boast even this. But Bruce does not appreciate it at all, he only tirelessly complains about his fate, and the Lord is unjust to him. Then God decides to teach him a lesson. . .
At first, Bruce performed his 'divine' duty out of hand is bad, because he acted solely in his own interests. Solving his own problems, he completely forgot about the feelings of the person close to him, and about the rest & #39; in need & #39; and even more so. If I had superpowers, I'd give myself the freedom to bully a little too. But everything has the flip side of the coin. In the pursuit of success and recognition, you can lose what you already have. And obtained in an unfair way, and thanks to superpowers of good, may not bring you happiness. Perhaps it is good where we are not, and everyone in this world has a purpose.
I want to note the cool soundtrack, which aptly emphasizes each scene, as well as an excellent selection of actors. Aniston is always nice and organic in her role, with Jim they have a good couple. I like her character. I think Jenn is kind of herself, in life she seems like her Grace, simple, kind and caring. I don't like Steve Carrell very much, but he's quite funny here. Freeman is a great God, but Jim is a superfluous comment because he is beautiful everywhere. And from their scenes with Freeman, I’m just high, it’s a shame that they didn’t shoot together anymore.
In general, you can watch the film as many times as you want and remember that it does not matter whether you can work a miracle, it is important to be a miracle yourself.
I would like to evaluate the film “Bruce Almighty” not from the point of view of an experienced person who is fond of film studies, knows the filmography of actors, the full list of directors’ works, but on behalf of an ordinary viewer who decided to pass the evening watching the film.
The first thing that made me watch it was definitely Jim Carrey in the lead role. The work of this actor has always been interesting to me, and the film Bruce Almighty is no exception. This is a story about an ordinary reporter Bruce Nolan, who is quite pessimistic about his life. Failures in his work put him off track. In this character, his behavior, actions, words, many of us can recognize ourselves. Of course, Jim Carrey’s acting plays a big role, which, as always, is at the highest level. According to the idea of the director, Bruce Nolan challenges God, to which the Almighty not only answers, but also offers his own solution to the problem of the main character. It is the episodes of the connection of the earth with higher forces that contribute something from the genre of fiction to this film. And then the most interesting thing begins. The plot is built so that it looks in one breath. You can experience a variety of emotions (mostly positive, so it is still a comedy), from the heart to laugh. But, despite the comedy genre, the film is filled with deep meaning and touches on fundamental issues that persist to this day. These are problems of morality, relationships between people, the connection of man with nature. Involuntarily, you begin to think: “How do you still need to live your life?” After all, the main question that arises when watching the film: “Can Bruce make the world a little better?” The subject of love is also not ignored. The relationship between Bruce and Grace is a vivid example of how the support of loved ones is important in any endeavors and life circumstances.
The picture leads to the right thoughts, fills the heart with kindness and enriches the soul.
Not every movie wants to be watched over and over again, which is not the case. It was a rest for the soul.
"Bruce Almighty" is definitely recommended for viewing.
In this film, he discovered actor Morgan Freeman. If you look at all his works, you can see that many of his characters (mostly positive) have a philosophical view of life - this is the headmaster of the school / college (" Hold on to me), an experienced detective (" Handsome Johnny", "Seven", "Kissing the Girls", "And the Spider Came"), a consultant in the clinic (" In a sober mind and solid memory), a prisoner who can find everything ("Escape from Shawshank") and many others. However, he rarely played a leading role. In this movie, there is no one else in the world besides God. Freeman, this time, brought to the work a bit of philosophy, in this case divine. To give him a partner of the antipode Jim Carrey is a very interesting move, so the film turned out so philosophical, touching and funny, shot on the theme of the eternal question of the existence of God.
I really liked the film, thanks to this combination of actors and an interesting modern approach to the topic “Is there a God?”. Jim’s curvatures were superfluous in some places, and in my opinion this is the reason for the relatively low rating of the film, since after watching it, I saw nothing that could offend believers. Morgan Freeman played the role of God very well. He is wise, fair and not without a sense of humor. As a true mentor, he helps confused Bruce find his way. Kerry’s hero, for all his shortcomings, is a kind fellow, which is why he is chosen by fate to get a second chance.
Big idea. The main character Bruce, played by Jim Carrey, is a famous journalist, dissatisfied with his life and constantly complaining about God. But in life, the more you complain about something specific, that's what you get over and over again. Having received the opportunity to correct everything, Bruce reminded me of the restless Pushkin grandmother at the broken trough, who again appreciated the beauty of life, only having reached the limit. An excellent dramatic comedy about the eternal questions of life. Excellent Morgan Freeman. One of my favorite movies.
Be careful in your desires, they tend to come true, sooner or later, one way or another.
If I were offered the power of God, like Bruce Nolan, I certainly would. Yes, all people want to have superpowers, but it is one thing to be able to fly or move objects with your eyes, and quite another to be God. This is not only a huge permissiveness, but also a huge responsibility. Such forces should not belong to only one person - he simply cannot cope.
This comedy only looks like an easy movie to watch and relax. Yes, for rest "Bruce Almighty" - the very same thing, I do not dispute that while watching the picture you relax body and soul, but if you start to think about what could happen if this happened in reality ... creepy! They say that they should be afraid of their desires, because they come true. I think that Bruce acted very thoughtlessly, fulfilling the requests of everyone at once, because not everyone prays for the good. Not all desires are bright. People wish each other failure, pain and even death. What a mess it would be if everyone got what they wanted! I can’t even imagine this nightmare.
But the film really came out fun, albeit with sad elements. Jim Carrey, Morgan Freeman and Jennifer Aniston are on top, the plot is beautiful and original, quite kind and pleasant moments. I want to watch this comedy more than once.
Reporter Bruce Nolan is experiencing various troubles in life. He does not want to take the news anchors, relations with his girlfriend Grace are ruined due to his selfishness, and the domestic dog constantly goes to the toilet at home, choosing Bruce's chair. The hero raises his hands to the sky and asks God for what? God did not apply to appear before Bruce in the form of a black man and rewarded him with his abilities for a week so that Nolan would know what it means to be almighty.
This melodramatic comedy is very popular with us and has a high rating. Mostly because of Jim Carrie, who we love. I think the picture is pretty rough. If the first half is quite funny and funny, the second authors went overboard with melodramatic snot and excessive moralizing. Okay, I'm not against morality in comedies, but when it's not served in a straight-forward way. Yes, and funny moments here for a genre picture somehow a little.
I think Jim Carrie is a good actor and he’s crooked in his style, but it’s very funny. Jennifer Aniston at the time was super popular thanks to “Friends”. Here, the role of Grace is completely passable and does not stand out. It's basically Rachel. God is played by Morgan Freeman. He has always played the role of wise old men.
Overall, a typical comedy with Jim Carrie, somewhat overloaded with moralizing and melodrama. Many people love and watch this movie. For me, the picture is quite lookable and funny, but the masterpiece of the genre clearly does not pull. And released 4 years later, the sequel with Steve Currell and the same Morgan Freeman is a very mediocre passerman with a huge budget, naturally failed at the box office.

Tom Shadiak can make simple, funny comedies. Normally, he does not pretend to be a dramatic delight. The exception is the film Dragonfly with Kevin Costner.
The main role in the acclaimed comedy about Bruce the Almighty was played by one of the most successful actors in Hollywood - Jim Carrey. Behind him and Shadyak even before this work there were two joint and very successful films: “Ace Ventura” and “Liar, Liar”.
It is no secret that Carrie is a master of emotions and images. Deleted (not included in the film) scenes from “Almighty Bruce” demonstrate the striking variety of forms that the comedian gave out spontaneously on the samples of a particular episode.
Who did the director choose to play God? Who shines with warmth and humor, inspires respect and, at the same time, meets the requirements of political correctness? That's right, Morgan Freeman. Excellent choice!
The film featured a number of emotional songs, including "Never Gonna Give You Up" (Barry White), "Ready for a Miracle" (Patti LaBelle), and "The Power" (Snap).
If God had a name, what would it sound like?
Could you speak to Him by name?
If you were to stand before Him in all His glory,
What would you ask if you could only ask one question?
There is such a sound and very fitting thought that it is always more difficult to make a man laugh than to make him cry; and indeed it is, those who are able to easily and easily bring a note of joy and happiness into our gray and often sun-impenetrable world are not so much; I would even dare to assert that it is a piece of goods at all and a great rarity.
And in the world of cinema such characters, which is understandable, also "a day with fire": there are, of course, very funny and comic representatives of this craft, but so that only true geniuses can afford to shine with all their genius in a continuous stream. And one of them is definitely Jim Carrey. With all due respect to Charlie Chaplin and his colossal wealth, he is not so close, not so kindred and loved. Every appearance on the screen is a real holiday, it is an explosion of feelings and emotions, it is the same “God’s spark” as was said in the film I am reviewing. Yes, he will never win an Oscar again (there was one chance, but things went predictably wrong there); yes, he will not be on the same line as Morgan Freeman, who made him a great part here; but he does not need it, because the most important thing is the real and great love of those people who imbued with his talent; this recognition and immortal fame, which he has long been awarded.
What if God were one of us?
What a lot of people...
A stranger coming home
By bus?
And, as for me, all his potential and outstanding skill Jim embodied in this image, namely in a modest and unlucky reporter of the local TV channel Bruce Nolan, who interrupts random and somewhat idiotic reports, lives with a charming bride, fervently loving him and eager for great success. After all, Jim Carrey is not only an amazing comedian, but also a person who knows how to embody a dramatic role with no less serious enthusiasm, show all the weight and struggle that takes place in someone who gets into an irreconcilable confrontation with the whole world around him and, first of all, with himself.
And "Bruce Almighty" is exactly such a movie; I call it "a barrel of honey with vinaigrette" - it has everything that can be desired and dreamed of: it is a hilarious comedy that does not let go to the very end with its amazingly original and exceptionally catchy humor, which will make laugh and cheer up at the most dull times and under all circumstances; it is a truly thought-provoking drama that shows the whole background of success and the losses that accompany it; it demonstrates the reality that we make in the end, and the way of the human being, in which we make his idealistic and our choice. Each of us, sooner or later, comes to think about God, about the meaning of his existence and the purpose that carries the life of each of us – in this sense we are all so similar, but at the same time – strikingly different.
And the most important thing for many - it is also really touching for the soul and making you feel the power of Love melodrama; the history of the relationship of Bruce and Grace, performed by the charming Jennifer Aniston, as always very conveniently appeared in the frame, so competently and limitedly woven into the narrative that it is impossible to take your eyes off the screen - you just look and begin to recognize yourself in all their screen life, what you had to go through (or were lucky) or are yet to go through. And what a romantic and beautiful episode with Bruce’s attempts to establish a connection under A-God — “Shaped Hole” is here — this is the Miracle!
What is the meaning of Miracle? Is it worth waiting for? Or maybe we should just accept ourselves and find the edges of the miraculous and the extraterrestrial. It seems that after watching such beautiful and beloved films, these questions assume a degree of rhetorical, and the answers we have long been well studied and mastered. Brilliant!
Once again I am convinced that Jim Carrey is a unique comedian and the most talented actor. His name in the film is a pledge that the viewer during the viewing will be really funny. Jim once again managed to make the audience laugh and demonstrate the full power of his acting talent.
Jennifer Aniston as always charming, looks sincere and in general - decoration of the picture. Her heroines at the right moment managed to get to the feelings of Bruce, and help him understand what is most important to him.
P.S. It’s an unforgettable comedy that I love. One of my favorite movies that always saves me from a bad mood. Do you want to have a good evening? You want to have a good laugh? Then this is the movie for you.
Removed. Life is not fair. Someone less talented reaps all the benefits. And they call it... Bruce? If so, get ready to work for God. Everyone else who has only a name in the passport, just need to watch the ageless idea and humor of Tom Shadyak's film "Bruce Almighty" (2003).
“God, why do you hate me” – as if to tear from the tongue of every pessimist the main character Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey). He has an interesting job as a reporter on TV, a cozy apartment, a friendly dog, a beloved and loving girl Grace with the figure and face of Jennifer Aniston. But according to Bruce, his life is "fucking and lousy." And he himself is a victim in the hands of the Almighty offender of God, who does not cope with his work and takes everything from him! God is tired of making signs for Bruce and answered him personally.
Based on the book by Robert Bosch “I am Almighty Me”, the film changes the name of the main character and his profession from an auto mechanic to a journalist, which gives the writers more scope for the globality of the hero’s failures, the pronounced humorous shade of the whole story and the professional manner of Kerry fooling around in the frame. But the idea remains unchanged: even omnipotence has its limitations, and one cannot subordinate one’s will, love and one’s own progress on the path from power to knowledge. Or it is simpler: take revenge on the offenders, win a professional top, update the car, look under the skirt of a passer-by, drive through a traffic jam with a breeze and spit out a spoon is not what is really important and necessary in life. It is only desired, but true happiness brings only what is beyond the control of even God: the will and sincere personal desire of others to be friends, respect, love and help.
The comedy genre, native to Jim Carrey, excludes any claims about a few mundane jokes about the Almighty and the actor’s grimacism. However, Carrey clearly shares the concepts of comedic nonsense and comedy drama, giving no reason to compare with his earlier roles in the films Ace Ventura: Pet Search (1993) and Dumb and Dumber (1994). Jim Carrey fools just as much as necessary to turn banal moralizing on the topic of happiness and fullness of life into painted rakes with balls under the feet of a whiner like you or your friend, but not you and not him. The story of the main character gives the actor the opportunity not to portray emotions as in Liar (1997), but to emonize, as in The Truman Show (1998), but still with a drop of facial expressions of Liar. When viewed, it sometimes even seems that Kerry is endowed with another divine gift or curse: and this is not the “opening” of the surface of tomato soup, but the origin of emotions first from the outside, from the outside, and only then their penetration into the soul and head. He even stumbles not caricaturedly, but ridiculously; swears not corny, but amusingly; angry is not stereotyped, but especially.
However, such an unpretentious comedy was banned in Egypt because of its religious component. Apparently, because of the too close proximity of everyday prosaic and lyrical teachings from above to popularize the latter. Or, alternatively, because of a rethinking of the face of God. Robert De Niro was originally intended to play God, but was eventually played by Morgan Freeman. Even though it doesn't matter today: De Niro was unable to shoot at the last minute, Freeman showed himself better at the audition, or the director decided to pay tribute to his politically correct taste. It is important that the result to this day is relevant and striking in its profound irony over the belief of man in obstacles and trials from above the head of the Almighty progenitor, and not from it. After all, if you exclude the religious theory of the emergence of the world and man and take into account the anthropological concept, the first people on Earth, also called Adam and Eve, were with dark skin and one on one, without any mentors with this vast world. Accordingly, the progenitors of every person living on Earth - white, red, yellow, black - are African Americans. In the image and likeness of Morgan Freeman.
The theme of the value of simple and affordable things, free for the purse and so dear to the soul, before Bruce Almighty, wandered in earlier directorial films such as Healer Adams (1998), Liar, Liar (1997) and even the same notorious “Crazy Professor” (1996). But, judging by the fact that the phone of God, entrusted to Bruce, had to be blocked soon after the premiere of the film due to the abundance of calls of all those who can not overcome the personal “anti-Brussian barrier”, this tape through a bit of humor was able to convey to the viewer the main message. “People themselves have the power to see a miracle for themselves in others and be that miracle for them.” That anyone can become that guy next door from the tagline of the tape who gets immense power, as happened to Jim Carrey, who at the last moment pushed the unsuspecting Jennifer Aniston from under a falling tap on the set. That the happiest people are not those who get everything by the wave of their hands and mental desire, but those who reek when they return home. “Even if something gets dirty, it can always be cleaned.” And we all understand that this is not about things.
A good, fun, family comedy with Jim Carrey, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Aniston in the lead roles from the director of the comedy genre Tom Shadyak.
We all want to be omnipotent, omnipotent, so that God listens only to our prayers, fulfills our desires, and sometimes even demands, but no one wants to stand in the place of God. This picture just presents us with the opportunity to see what will happen if an ordinary person, performed by Jim Carrey, can “reach out” to the Supreme (played by Morgan Freeman) and get a job with him. How many opportunities, but also duties, will have to be acquired and endured by the new God.
Well thought out "divine" scenes from the acting Almighty: walking on the waters, petty "divine" pranks, spreading soup waters, rebuilding his personal life, the scene with the moon and the stars, accustoming a domestic dog to go to the toilet in the right way, not in the dog way, superman opportunities with his wife, mischief against a colleague at work Evan.
The hit song "I've got the power" fit perfectly into this theme.
“Divine” therapy allowed Bruce Nolan to find himself in life, answer all his inner questions, tune in to the right wave and understand that we as people have the right to choose and the will given to us from above.
The continuation of the picture turned out not so outstanding, but also interesting.

- I had to rethink my life.
- In just one day?
- Would you like to go for seven?
This is one of the many seemingly unremarkable dialogues of the film, which fully reflects its essence and meaning.
First of all, I would like to start with acting in the film. Well, what can I say? She is simply gorgeous, whatever actor you take, be it: Jim Kerry, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Aniston, etc., etc.
As for the plot, the loser in life - Bruce Nolan suddenly gets just incredible superpowers, which God himself gives him, to create Alpha and Omega.
And then the life of the reporter is turned upside down and up to 360 degrees. He becomes the so-called “favourite of the public”, but nothing can do with the power of love that chained him to Grace and he is forced to achieve her on his own.
In general, for lovers of comedy, the film is just perfect, as it is replete not only with numerous funny moments, which are enough to put forward very accurate philosophical thoughts and remarks that we so often avoid in everyday life.
The movie is very worth watching. He watched it several times and all the time not only laughed, but also found a clever thought that would reflect the essence of things as best as possible.
In general, lovers of comedies must watch. Religious people after watching this film do not treat it too critical and skeptical, because the director of the film – Tom Shadiak as smoothly and carefully as possible played this topic.
P.S. Trust in God, but you are not bad.

The theme of endowing man with the power of omnipotence puts him on a level with God. This is a kind of temptation, which in a good Hollywood movie, the hero always succumbs and overcomes. This film is no exception!
Jim Carrie cleans up his curvy manner of playing here, Jennifer Aniston is the same as everywhere, Morgan Freeman is good and wise as expensive bitter chocolate.
The trials that fall to the lot of a person to change him for the better - much more subtly and skillfully were shown in later films with the same Carrie - 'Always say yes!'. However, in comparison of these two films, time plays a role - the film is shot in the corporate traditions of comedies of the 90s, which for the most part are characterized by an extreme degree of frivolity and a special naive humor, and for this we also continue to love, appreciate and reckon with this spirit of the times.

Once upon a time, Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey) disliked everything. He believed that all his failures were God’s fault. But he was wrong in his guesses, not coping with the tasks of God, when God gave him his own power.
Not to blame God for your failures, but yourself.
Good humor, good script and unparalleled curvature of Jim Carrey is a success in the collections and in the semantic load of the film. The film is funny, with a piece of appropriate black humor.
The cast consists of such personalities as: Jim Carrey, Jennifer Aniston, Morgan Freeman, Steve Carell and so on. Such actors with indescribable talent easily revealed in this film the characters of their characters, so that the viewer got into the atmosphere of the film with the help of familiar images.
Jim, as always, was amazing. He played an ordinary unhappy man complaining about life, but all the stuffing & #39 occurs after God gives him power. Then Jim and shows all his 'power' in humor.
Morgan Freeman played God. Morgan showed God with his mannerisms and values as the director sees it. Morgan once again showed his unfathomable talent.
The special effects are shown first-class both in technical terms and in terms of humor.
This film is a real quality comedy that has a call to the viewer: 'Don't sit still, take up your own life and blame no one for your failures, for all failures, as well as for success only you are to blame!'
Very funny and true comedy, which has an idea and meaning!

“Bruce” can be called a well-balanced, high-quality film, the specificity of which is given by the peculiar acting of Jim Carrey. This guy has always stood out from many others by the facial expressions of his face, and in general he seems quite “alive”, unlike some of his colleagues with more phlegmatic faces.
One of the important components of the film is comedy and an abundance of jokes. Humor, like so much else, is for the most part quite subjective – but to me, the film seemed funny, at times even hilarious. Moreover, the humor of “Bruce” is quite far from exotic, it rather has a “Hollywood flavor” than any other. For me, the viewer, mainly “Western” films, this kind of comedy is more like an apple than a grapefruit or a maraku.
The plot is centered around the transformation, transformation of the main character as a result of certain events. Such designs are sometimes called “scenes of education”. In short, from a selfish, always dissatisfied, nagging grumbling, Bruce turns into a satisfied, sweet, caring guy. This scheme reminded me of another Jim Carrey movie, the later “Yes, Man” (2008). Both in Bruce and Yes, Man, Carrey’s character changes his attitude towards himself and begins to accept the world around him without so many negative emotions.
Another level of the film, "metaphysical" - this is the same, peculiar, aimed at the modern office worker, a resident, constantly living in stress, subtext. Less attention to material goods, a career race, less eccentricity, more altruism and humanity. It sounds banal, but mixed with other components of comedy, it looks good.
In general, we have a pretty good “philosophical comedy”, a funny film, quite popular and recognizable, and in my opinion, also a little underrated by critics. I'd like to put
"Bruce Almighty" is an incredibly funny and instructive film.
The main character, Bruce Nolan, despite the fact that he has everything he needs for happiness, always complains about life and blames God for all his failures, not noticing that he himself deliberately runs into trouble, pretending to be a great martyr. When God does not give him a lesson, He gives him strength. Now Bruce can fulfill all his dreams and desires. But God’s work is not as simple as he thinks, and he loses everything even with God’s power. Now he has to solve not only his problems, but the whole world.
- Oh my God!
The film Bruce Almighty teaches us that when we lament and complain about life, we sometimes do not notice what we have. Bruce, to understand that everything he needed was always there, needed to find God’s power.
Originally, the creators approached the image... Maker. God with a sense of humor, strict but just, wise, not giving answers, but giving the opportunity to find them and answer yourself. Morgan Freeman played God simply ... divinely. Wisdom was read in his eyes.
Jim Carrey as always grimaces and makes laugh even the most sullen. In this film, he once again proved his primacy in the role of a comedian among other actors. No one would have played Bruce better than him.
The film lifts the mood and causes only positive emotions.
Respect for the scene where Bruce prevented his colleague Evan Baxter from keeping the news in the studio. Also for excellent dubbing.
We are all praying for something and who is... Someone prays for the villainy neighbor to throw off his hooves, someone prays for rain and crops to grow, someone cannot live without money and prays for them, someone asks for long years of life, someone prays for death, and so on indefinitely.
As I understand for our beloved God, the main thing is that everything is infinite, and even our life with you is eternal, but only some of us hope for this, and we all advanced know that everything created in this splendor is eternal, only flows from one species to another.
All this is shown very funny and it is unlikely that I will be able to convey the sparkling humor and grins of Jim Carrey. But a guy named Bruce does not know about this and lives today, well, tomorrow at most, and therefore sometimes thinks about career growth. And thoughts about career growth have become so obsessive that there can be no talk of happiness. He is deeply upset and every morning begins with stress.
Bruce wants to be a news anchor, but so far his popularity is only a hilarious commentator on stupid events. He cheerfully stands with a microphone at a shitting parrot, happily talks to chimpanzees, but does not comment on important events in the lives of influential people. In traffic, he freaks out, and next to them, a nailed man is transported on a gurney in a prone position, rewinded as well, and Bruce sees only that he is unhappy now, because he is in traffic. I wonder if that rewinded would give in an hour in traffic your problem?
And here is all the bad luck of Bruce, which is probably attracted because he is focused on him and only on him, only he sees and perceives. What is lucky, he probably will not notice.
So God (Morgan Freeman) invites him for an interview in a building that doesn't have floor 13. He is met by a black grandfather who presents himself as God and offers Bruce to temporarily cope with his divine duties.
And now that he did not wish instantly executed and skirt uprooted girl, and exploded fire hydrant, well, in short, all entertainment and no responsibility. But over time and with all the miracles that all-powerful Bruce does, walking even on water, comes the moment of truth, the prayers of a million people begin to penetrate into the head, and as I wrote, who is what... and to infinity and many, many, many times, and again, and many... many times. First, he began one by one to disassemble and perform something, and something and not, then he got tired and pressed everyone yes and... You'll find out later.
A stunned film that lifted my mood more than once, it is about miracles, with morality and cheerful performance. It is recommended to view in a compulsory manner for depression and for personal pleasure.
Bruce Almighty is a funny and witty American comedy that looks easy and brings a lot of positive emotions. The movie turned out to be original and unlike anything else: it is bright and dynamic, and its story is funny and amusing with various comic moments. I liked the atmosphere that the director came up with, it was kind and positive. If you want to watch a really funny and funny comedy, then this movie is for you.
We see the main character who complains about life and asks God for help, and then scolds Him, and God gives him the opportunity to be in His place, and we see the funny and funny story of how a simple man took possession of the power of the Supreme and what was revealed to him, but when you can do everything, you forget that it was really important and important for you and the main thing in life - a girl who loves the main character, and he her, and we see how difficult it is to be the Supreme and the story of this man, which was so witty and funny showed us in this comedy.
Jim Carrey is a great comedian and one of my favorite actors in the world of cinema, and that’s why I love watching movies with him, especially when he’s in a movie starring. Jim is an incredibly talented and brilliant actor who can laugh to tears in seconds, and so I can say with confidence that he is my favorite comedian. Jennifer Aniston is a beautiful woman and an interesting actress, and after the series “Friends” I fell in love with her and always willing to watch movies with her, so in this comedy I was glad to see her. I liked Jim and Jennifer’s duet and remember it well.
This is a comedy about how sometimes a person wants something and asks for it, but in fact he does not need it, about the fact that much often depends only on ourselves, and we are the masters of our fate and life. “Bruce Almighty” is a really interesting and high-quality comedy, which the creators of money did not regret, and we have a decent and fun comedy that you can watch with pleasure. I think this film deserves the attention of the audience and positive feedback. Watch this comedy, and Jim Carrey will take you to his funny and dynamic story, which is full of wit, jokes and something unreal and distant, which is so funny and beautiful we showed in this film.

I loved it! Yeah, corny. Yes, all this has happened, but it is still impossible not to look. Jim Carrey and Jennifer Aniston made an excellent duet. Well done. I’m not talking about Morgan Freeman, he’s good everywhere. This film is no exception.
The philosophical subtext is also present. After watching, everyone will think about what would happen if he was God? This movie is a great way to show that you can’t please everyone. But at the same time, all people on earth should be happy. Tough dilemma. What a difficult job God has.
But I will not go into philosophy - let everyone draw their own conclusions. And you will definitely watch this wonderful, kind and unnerving film.

I’ve been watching this movie for several years, and the effect of the show hasn’t changed. This film is one of the rare ones that can be watched without any doubt that it will get bored. The quality of the film is undoubtedly high in all respects, but we will reconsider the topic. She's close to all of us. That’s what draws us most to this film. Each of us once complained about life in difficult moments, in unsuccessful periods. Everyone's had a bad time. And the main character of this film is a “round” loser and he is tired of living this life of an outcast, he “exploded”. Some people do not get into the essence of the film and think that this is about a guy who is a loser, who in one day was lucky and he took off in full. Nope. It's the entertainment part of the movie. As for the highlight (the most important detail of the film), another example of the fact that God is one and he is not replaceable. There are many of us and we are different, but he is one and at the same time balances everything on earth. Even the kindest and most righteous man on the planet would destroy the world in a few minutes. I want to note that some religious people of the middle generation are negative about the film and shout at the top of their voices: What is this outrage?! Some nigger playing God. No one can put himself in the place of God. First, it's a movie. Second, it's not a nigger, it's Morgan Freeman. Thirdly, no one claims the place of God (and dares not), God has no definite appearance and certainly does not divide us into black, white, red or yellow. He could be in any of us. It's a creature that has no equal. Here is a lesson in life, in the background of comedy.
Actors: I liked the whole cast. Even those who played in half minute episodes. This is especially true of Jim Carrey. He's not just crooked. Morgan Freeman was good, too. Steve Karel also stood out.
I won’t be tired and I’ll move on to the evaluation:

I’m ashamed to admit, but the painting “Bruce Almighty” I first saw the night before yesterday. A long time ago I started watching it, but I never watched it. I don't remember why. So I decided that since I am watching STS this week in the evenings, then you should not miss this picture.
The film was directed by Tom Shadyak. I'm familiar with some of Tom's works, they were comedies, and they were wonderful. As for this, I want to say the same thing. I love Jim Carrey and this one is one of the best. Tom made a movie filled not only with jokes but also with meaning. It was an interesting, funny and even funny comedy. What else is needed in this genre? I don't think so. So I want to say thank you to Tom. The picture is wonderful!
While watching, I was thinking about failure. After all, it often happens that when faced with failure, we begin to blame everyone and everyone, bypassing ourselves. Everyone did, right? We are blindly sure that others are to blame for our failures: someone said something wrong, then a black cat ran across the road. But we forget to think about ourselves. Maybe it's our fault. Somewhere they made the wrong choice, went to the wrong place and said the wrong thing. After all, a person builds his own life, and it would not be right to be offended by everyone and everyone for the wrong decision that led to failure. That's the moral of this movie.
So here's Bruce Nolan. Bruce works in television, but he has no luck. He always gets ridiculous situations that don't air. Bruce's dream is to become a live host. Besides, this place is about to vacate. But Bruce has a competitor that the bosses like better. When this position bypasses Bruce, he makes a mistake. And then he resents God for a long time, saying that he forgot about him. But he didn't forget. !
- God doesn’t have a vacation!
- Have you heard of the Middle Ages? (c)
Turning to the cast, I want to say that he picked up great! Jim Carrey played Bruce. Once again I found myself thinking that Jim was an exceptional actor. There are no more people like him! Only he knows how to play, and only he looks so good in comical ways. I grew up watching Jim's movies and I still watch them every time. Just as funny and funny. I love this actor very much. In this film, Jim played the role very well. His grimaces and jokes were funny, while watching a smile stuck on my face. Awesome game! Morgan Freeman also did an amazing job. However, there is no doubt about his professionalism. Morgan knows how to play well and this role is another proof of that. Jennifer Aniston perfectly performed the role of Grace, was able to convey the joy, disappointment, sympathy and despair of her character. I believed her.
The composer of this picture was John Debney. Before watching this picture, I had already come across the works of this composer, mainly melodramas and comedies, and, I must confess, his music in those paintings was not bad. As for this one, John did a great job. The music they selected suited the picture perfectly, making it more interesting and fun. Thank you.
“Bruce Almighty” is an interesting, funny, sometimes funny comedy, not devoid of meaning. A film that allows you to think about yourself and your own failures. Therefore, I recommend it for viewing. Positive emotions are not superfluous. Enjoy your visit!
TV journalist Bruce Nolan is hardly an unlucky person, but he has a very different opinion. Bruce blames God for all his alleged and real failures, and after being fired from his job, his pessimism takes on global proportions. But, as they say, never murmur at God, for the answer is possible and now Bruce has to learn for himself what it is like to be the Supreme.
Director Tom Shadyak's 2003 film Bruce Almighty is one of the funniest, most original and interesting comedies of modern Hollywood. The picture surprisingly combines the features of eccentric comedy and philosophical drama, making the viewer think about his place in the world, the power of faith and humility, which in the framework of such an entertaining tape is an unconditional achievement.
Acting in the picture causes only the most positive emotions. Jim Carrie stunningly played the role of Bruce, skillfully combining his brilliant facial expressions, grotesque and drama in his acting palette.
Morgan Freeman brilliantly played the role of God, creating a bright, albeit satire-colored character. Jennifer Aniston once again demonstrated great comedic talent, played the role of Bruce’s lover, colorful Grace.
I can’t help but note the excellent level of special effects, which added to the film’s scale, the bright work of operator Dean Semler and the beautiful soundtrack of John Debney.
I recommend this beautiful comedy to everyone without exception, because the picture will make you laugh and make you think about many important things.

During his career, Jim Carrey has successfully changed many comedic images, but such tests on the share of his character, perhaps, has not yet fallen.
Bruce Nolan is a TV presenter on one of the channels of the American city of Buffalo. He is not satisfied with the importance of his person in the company, and at times he complains that God has left him without his mercy. This film was the second breath of Kerry’s career, especially given the high popularity of comedians such as Adam Sandler and Martin Lawrence. With his appearance, he pleases not only loyal fans, but also all people who have made a choice in favor of this film, deciding how best to cheer up. Although the story, in which the power of the Almighty passes to a simple TV presenter, is openly religious in nature, here any conflicts of interest and possible resentment are minimized. And even without a clear warning that the events are fiction, the correct attitude to this story arises even before viewing. To some extent, the film even prompts philosophical reflections. Indeed, we often hope that something is not in our power, ceasing to do everything possible to achieve the goal. The film used a sufficient number of special effects and embodied some interesting ideas.
A story created to cheer up viewers, even considering a rather serious topic. Jim Carrey, as before, pleasantly surprises, and the film itself looks quite fresh.

The more I look at Jim Carrey, the less I understand whether he is the most talented actor or just a charismatic clown. Whatever the role, the curves and showdown, which then seem not so funny.
And "Bruce Almighty" would be one of those roles if it weren't for a really serious question posed against a backdrop of stupidity and ridiculous situations. What do we really want? How do you know that? What would we do if we had a force of this size in our hands?
When you think about it, you realize how hard God’s work is. Poor guy, even on vacation can not go normally - still have to take care of his bad shifter.
Bruce, in my opinion, is too self-centered. He lacks basic compassion for others. He wants to be a news anchor, he wants his woman to be loyal to him no matter what. But he didn’t think about how the notorious news anchor felt, he didn’t think about what his girlfriend really needed. How can you be so blind?
I loved the way God told Bruce: You have a spark of God in you, Bruce. It is your duty to bring joy and laughter to people. And all is well, which ends well, although there was no temporary apocalypse.
It has been several years since the release of this picture on the screens, and for me it remains as funny and relevant as in 2003.
Funny, first of all, thanks to the presence of such high-class actors as Jim Carrie and Morgan Freeman, whose roles and dialogues could not be watched without a smile.
Relevant, because the hero Jim - loser TV reporter Bruce Nolan, always angering fate and looking for any fault but himself - can be found everywhere - these are people who are dissatisfied with their lives, they constantly complain about their instability and problems, sometimes noticing relatives who are ready to help and support them. In the form of support, namely in the role of the girl Bruce, this film was performed by Jennifer Aniston, who, I think, coped wonderfully with the role, and with Jim they made a very funny, cute screen couple.
In general, any religious subtext is very peculiarly perceived by the audience, it is important not to cross the line. And especially when it is a pure comedy, so that there is no mockery and banter, but the viewer was funny and not bored, you need to try. So the team that worked on Bruce Almighty did their best!
Listing each of the actors separately, giving them grades, I think it is pointless and long - the cast picked up great and you will see it yourself if you watch this film. I just can’t help but mention a brilliant episode performed by Steve Carell with, let’s say, a voice change during the live broadcast. I'm sure at this point most people will just have tears from tearful, prolonged laughter.
Very funny, very kind and in some ways even very instructive film. You have to watch it!
The film seems to work for the hard four and nothing more. Mostly on Carrie and Freeman. The first, in principle, can be put "excellent" advance for any role - it is his karma, fate, tao, etc. The second is basically the same, though... Playing God is not a hoohry-muhry, you need an approach. The only actor who in my memory played the Almighty magnificently and peculiarly is Maurice Reves in Acid House. At least that's how I often imagine him. Freeman chose a more politically correct and therefore boring image of a great philanthropist, but it suited him well. He can do that.
Back to the tape... In my opinion, its main drawback (in addition to general courtesy) is its inconsistency with the potentially stated direction. At the end of the viewing, the method of excluding other genres (fighter, horror, military drama, etc.) it becomes clear that the film should be positioned only as a lyrical comedy. Right? Okay. Well, so: if the lyrics on the verge of snot here really enough (in this regard, it would even be much more logical to shove into the picture not Aniston, but Meg Ryan), then just with comedy - a light strain.
Not a funny movie. Pretty much at all. Of course, there is Carrie in it, who periodically makes the viewer smile, but this does not happen due to some scripted gags, but only due to the presence of Carrie himself in the frame. The toilet-casting dog, etc., is a first-class find for some Leslie Nielsen clown (and in this case I would probably like them madly), but in the so-called lyrical comedy, such moments look rather poor and out of place.
Further - "Bruce" clearly overloaded with numerous songs that are included in any suitable or inappropriate moment of the picture, turning the musical component of the film into a questionable radio hit parade.
What's left? There's a script left. The script, frankly speaking, is of little interest, because GG, apparently saving the money of producers and time of computer scientists, in principle does not do anything, doing some blatant trifle and nonsense, after which it begins to demand “to return everything back” (?). Perhaps the writers wanted to emphasize that GG is good and that it lacks serious selfish motives. Well, in that case, they succeeded. We managed to make everything too... narrow, simple and local.
Nothing in general. Take a look. You can not even completely, but until the beer runs out.
