There are people who don’t grow old, but there are movies where the same expression applies. One of these films, in my opinion, appeared on the Russian cinema in 1987, during the late USSR. The title is 'Where is the Nofelet?', a romantic melodrama with elements of comedy. The director of the film is Gerald Bazhenov, and the scriptwriter Anatoly Eyramdzhan. The composer is Alexander Zatsepin.
What is the secret to the popularity of this film? For me personally, this is a very interesting plot with a lot of funny episodes, a great cast and great musical compositions. Not even football. . .
- Hello, girls! (Gennady's phrase)
- Hello! (response of two girls, between whom the character of Alexander Pyatkov in a tracksuit)
- Today is football, the European Champions Cup! All normal people are sitting at home, and this ... (another phrase Gennady).
And there are many such funny moments here, you can not remember all.
What is this movie about, you ask? The answer may seem banal, but actually about the ordinary life, the everyday life of ordinary engineer Pavel Golikov (played by Vladimir Menshov). The famous director, who shot in 1979 the famous film “Moscow does not believe in tears”, which received an Oscar, appears here as an actor. He fit very well into the image of a shy and timid employee of the technical bureau, Pavel Golikov. Almost all his time Pavel Golikov devotes to work, and during the rest dreams about the woman of his dreams in the face of a stranger seen on the bus on the way to work.
And then a cousin Gennady from Central Asia comes to the rescue, who came to Moscow for upholstered furniture, but in an instant forgot about this assignment of his wife Valentina (it was performed by Irina Rozanova), learning about the family problems of Pavel.
Actually from this moment and begin the adventures of Paul and Gennady in search of a bride for the older brother, which is Paul.
What will you learn from this if you watch the movie Where is the Nofelet? (1987) in full.
A few words about the actors in this film. The role of Gennady - a balagur and a joker, perfectly performed by Alexander Pankratov-Black. His character is young at heart, intricate and very communicative. His goal is not to buy upholstered furniture, but to combine useful with pleasant: to find a bride to his brother, well, do not forget about yourself.
Vladimir Menshov played, as already noted above, the role of Pavel Golikov - a lonely employee of the technical bureau, almost all of whose life passes in the workplace. But the arrival of Gennady radically changes the situation and the active search for the bride begins.
It should also be noted Lyudmila Shagalov and Nikolai Parfenov, who inspiredly played the role of Paul’s parents, who do not want to go to the next world without seeing their grandchildren.
Of the many female roles, I remember Valentina Telichkina as a stranger. Her character is wordless, but very important in the film.
Also remembered Elena Safonova in the small role of Alla. Calm, balanced, confident and with a good sense of humor. . .
- I must definitely find out what is nofelet?! – says Alla in one of the scenes.
Summing up, it can be noted that if there are films that can lift the mood, then the film “Where is the Nofelet?” of 1987 is one of them.

Not a bad comedy for relaxation. The main characters are two cousins, full of opposites to each other. Gene, performed by Pankratov-Black, is a brisk and enterprising good man who will never disappear anywhere. Pasha, played by Menshov, is a mattress and smear, on which they ride at work and who are unable to arrange their personal life.
Parents turn to Gene to help their son meet a woman, and Gene willingly agrees. For some reason, it is thought that in his youth, the parents in every possible way prevented the communication of the brothers, fearing that Gene would adversely affect their son. But time goes by, in Pasha, having lived to forty years, still sits near my mother's skirt. And the mother is no longer young, and fear for the future fate of her son prompts her to reconsider her attitude to her nephew.
The brothers will experience a series of funny adventures during the film, but they will not be able to find a suitable bride for Pasha. But Gene will meet his fate. However, suddenly arrived wife interferes with their happiness, and Gena dutifully returns home. Probably only such a heroic woman, which portrayed in the film Irina Rozanova, and is able to cope with a husband like Gena.
But communication with his brother still did not pass without a trace for Paul. In the final, having gathered all his weak spirit into his fist, Pasha finally decides to approach the woman he likes. The idea of the film is this: only by doing independent actions, a person can achieve something.
There is no doubt that in 1987 Gerald Bezhanov decided to shoot a “male” version of “The Most Charming and Attractive”. After all, love failures happen to everyone, including men. Perhaps even more often than women, although it is difficult to judge a non-specialist in the love sphere.
As well as the main character of “The Most Charming”, Pasha is a relatively ugly person. I am immersed in work and a little misanthrope. A typical bachelor who doesn’t really need love. But cinema is cinema, so it happens ... no, not a miracle, but only the arrival of Gene’s cousin. And in order to give you an impression of the general tones of the film, suffice it to say that Gena is played by Alexander Pankratov-Black. As smiley and almost as annoying as his character from "Winter Night in the Gagras", the actor here plays the typical Don Juan, for whom a house with a family is like a prison cell. Someone similar appeared in “The Most Charming”, but here Gena is essentially the main character, not counting Pasha. I do not dare to judge women’s opinion, but since the Gene is a “grandmother”, the restrained Pasha, even if insecure, will probably make a better impression.
I must say that the poster of Nofelet is quite provocative, almost erotic. In the film itself, unfortunately, there are no candid scenes, there is only a verbal mention of the fact that Gena at least once failed and spent one stormy night without the knowledge of his wife. And his wife, by the way, is very charming, albeit with character. But Pasha wouldn't do that, I'm giving you a tooth. With the caveat that I am not very familiar with Soviet cinema, I can say that there are more attractive girls in Nofelet than in earlier films. More than once or twice in the frame flashed very seductive images, which is difficult not to look after . Perhaps, the already begun Perestroika affects, when directors and actresses could afford more relaxation.
In secondary roles in “Nofelet” involved famous actors. Inna Ulyanova plays a strong woman, which is the place in the chair of the boss, while Nikolai Parfyonov here is a typical funny man, what he had to play more than once and not two. Not long in the film appears and Mikhail Kokshenov, who also starred in "The most charming". Comedic abilities of the actor and here are manifested in a good light, even though the character is not so good.
In isolation from the main theme of the film, I can note in Nofelet the very atmosphere of the 1980s, which we now love very much. These are hairstyles, music, and even some interior details. At the same time, the film is filled with those elements of the future of Russia, which are still a sore theme: the terrible service sector, untidy entrances, and the city streets in the worst condition. Everything here, of course, is presented as a comedy, but it is still offensive.
Just like “The Most Charming”, “Nofelet” conveys to the audience a wise idea: if you really feel bad without love, you have to wait for it, and when you wait, then act yourself, without any other direction. After all, in a relationship, each blacksmith himself is a smith of his happiness. And perhaps “Nofelet” turned out a little better than “The most charming”. That's my kidrev. Can you speak backwards?
Good movie for the gray days. Energetic, emotional, easy to watch! It reveals the secret of the attractiveness of the South-Mustached Cavaliers: it lies in the fact that with them the scenario of the development of the plot is clear already on the way, which is especially valuable for single middle-aged girls who understand why they go south - to relax. And with these domestic blondes, difficult happiness, because on his pretty scoreboard it is written: timid, shy, depressed. .. Come on, tame it, conquer it... So that the eye immediately fell on a 40-year-old with a complex of male unrealization and parents who do not understand anything in ' modern & #39; relationships, it is necessary to have an unrealized desire to care for someone, drive by the handle and stroke the head.
Here is the inconsistency: the unfashionable, unmodern bachelor dreams of one that is usually won hotly and gambling, but he expects that he will be conquered in a similar way. For an interested woman, this approach is not a hindrance.
I didn’t like this movie and it seemed more tragic than funny.
Allegedly comic situations where they meet someone seem shameful and sad. The life of the main character is the same. His active and life-loving cousin Gena (Pankratov-Black) only emphasizes the hopelessness of his existence, but then it turns out that he himself is in slavery (married), from which he only managed to get out for a while.
Forced girlish sorties not one iota will not be able to stir up a modest 40-year-old boy, but only make Gena, as if torn away from life and sitting before that in a cage for decades, “go out in the wild.”
Behind all this tormented Donjouanism cracks begins to manifest the destruction of the foundations of the whole society, when a simple working engineer is not considered either a man or a person in the full sense of the word, if he does not know how to relax and does not consider all women a priori “his”.
Of course, the authors could not foresee the impending catastrophe of the state, but these manifestations, expressed in the attempts of some citizens to live in a modern, Western way, in the form of some special appearance and behavior, and in fact are the imposition of alien values to ordinary Soviet people, were in this case a bad omen.
Despite the seemingly instructive finale, the accents and sympathies of the authors can be traced very clearly. Had this film been made a little later, after the fall of the USSR, it would have been more candid and then would have been like the movie “40-year-old virgin”, causing more disgust, like many films of the 90s. However, while retaining external Soviet splendor, he still despised the family as a unit of society, glorified cynicism, selfishness and greed, called individualism, and therefore became another step on the way to the collapse of our country.
I'm sorry I didn't mention the advantages of this film, but they are still expressed in the assessment:
5.5 out of 10
I sincerely do not understand why this film is not as popular as the well-known comedies of Gaidai and Ryazanov, which show every holiday on the central channels. However, it is often seen on other channels, and I review it every time, because it is a real masterpiece! It came out 30 years ago, but is still relevant and will be relevant in as many years and more.
Is it rare to meet a womanizer who will not miss a skirt? In the performance of Alexander Pankratov-Black, this womanizer - Gena - turned out to be cheerful, charismatic and resourceful, and sometimes you even admire his resourcefulness. Of course, in the final scene he looks very pathetic, and absolutely deservedly, but that's another story. The complete opposite of Gene is Pasha. Modest, serious, calm, rather shy, but perfectly good-natured - and it attracts. There are many comical situations in the film, and they are especially funny because this can happen in life. And the parents who take care of their son and try their best to marry him, even resorting to strange actions? It happens!
- Beautiful! This is not a good thing for us!
- Maybe we won't give our Pasha for her!
There are a lot of girls in the film, and it’s nice to see everyone – not glamorous, everything natural, dressed and combed with taste.
Rozanova -- oh -- she's gorgeous! Very small role, but so colorful! The episode with her participation is the funniest and most memorable in the film.
The moral of the film is simple: everything has its time. Always be yourself, and sooner or later you will meet your happiness and find a way to get it.
Classic for ages!
This lyrical comedy of 1988 with Vladimir Menshov and Alexander Pankratov-Black in the lead roles. What to do if you are over forty, you are a man, and your personal life still does not work out? The story of the humble engineer Pavel Fedorovich Golikov will reveal the secrets of winning women's hearts. Shy and timid by nature Paul was lucky to work in the women's team of the Research Institute, but for some reason, despite the favorable conditions, communication with the beautiful sex does not start. The help of parents who crave grandchildren does not give any results. It remains to rely either on yourself or on a cousin Genu, who suddenly came to visit. Gene cannot remain indifferent to the problem of a relative. He easily and easily takes the situation into his own hands. And so dressed up according to the latest fashion trends Pasha goes to board the female team with a slightly strange, but, according to Genes, a spectacular question: Where is the nofelet?.
Why do we love movies so much? Because there is a simple person in the center, that is, in fact, you and real life, but life without spiritual degeneration and evil, and in modern Russian and American cinema in the center is a mythical superhero. The world of a simple Soviet man is a separate universe. And it was often better and more interesting than it is now. If people gathered in the kitchen or in the back for tea, there were many good topics. A lot of people remember. I'm just resting. They were able to make a good and good movie before. It seems that the topic is so piquant, but everything is filmed very chaste, not obscene and not vulgar. They don't do that now. The film is pleasant, I love Soviet films of the 70-80s, but if we talk about the main character - "a good guy, but not an eagle" (as the great actress Nonna Mordyukova said in another famous film). This is a very good fun and kind film. The meaning of the film is quite simple, namely, everyone has his own fate and whatever happens in life, we come to it sooner or later.
The cast is brilliant. Vladimir Menshov is just a charm, such a sweet, charming, incredibly shy slob who is afraid to even look at girls. He handled this role magnificently. I always enjoy watching this movie, my soul is happy. Alexander Pankratov-Black is a separate topic. Very bright, unique and charismatic actor. Any film with him becomes a comedy. Amazing. Here he is in the role of a kind of high-aged womanizer who, being married, a family man, is nevertheless ready to go after all the girls in a row. "How else is that?" He's trying for his brother. And he never gets discouraged, always smiles, and even if he fails to get acquainted, he will not be upset by this, but just go on. Very cute and funny character. Also very spectacular is Irina Rozanova, who played a small role of the wife of Gennady. An energetic and energetic woman turned out. Great. A "dream girl"Paul, which he met every day on the bus, Valentina Telichkin, just a charm. So quiet, humble, and also very shy, it is very nice to see her in this film. She's incredibly cute. But, to such a girl, of course, "nofelet" is not applicable. It's a completely different thing. And also always very much like the heroine of the film performed by Inna Ulyanova. Great! The head of the institution, such an imperious, strict and at the same time respectful aunt of her employees. Every time you look at it, it makes you smile. A stunning actress (what is only worth her role in the film "Pokrovsky Gate"). Bravo!
Here is the plot like a simple, but so sincere, understandable and lively: you understand the characters, what motives they move, somewhere you recognize yourself / friends / acquaintances - you really empathize with the characters, you hope that the hero Menshov"Paul" still meet love and find happiness. The actors are wonderfully selected – everyone in their place. And there was no need for any “leveling on Hollywood” in the segment of entertainment cinema... Look with interest and never becomes obsolete. One of the favorite Soviet films. See the whole family, a lot of positive and pleasant emotions are guaranteed.
Pavel is an engineer, soldering chips and by his almost 40 years unmarried. Parental efforts to match do not bring success, but a cousin who arrived from Central Asia - a family man with two children and a slick past - forces Paul to catch the girls with an innocent question. And life is slowly but beginning to change.
Gerald Bezhanov, along with Anatoly Eyramdzhan, became the founders of cooperative cinema, and in it - the genre of erotic comedy, well known to American teenagers, who became almost the entire population of the former USSR after the fall of the Iron Curtain, not spoiled by intimate relationships on the screen. But these two elderly people realized the gold mine even earlier - in the area of perestroika - it is good that they were lucky with the state order. It was at this time that Gorbachev started a rise in the birth rate - maternity leave and payments increased, began to fight alcoholism, and at the same time with urban loneliness. Cinema, as the main armor-piercing weapon of Soviet propaganda, also became involved in the struggle for proper Soviet family sex. That's why they came (a little earlier) Singles are provided with a hostel, once twenty years later and the most charming and attractive. The latter is also the fruit of the work of Eyramjan-Bezhanov. Only the female version of the marriage problem changed to the male version. And the rest has changed little - a man who stayed in bachelors, a design bureau and a man-catalyst. Only instead of a female psychologist, a male soloist now soloists.
But it was much less successful. With all due respect to Vladimir Menshov, he oversimplified his character. There is no portrait of the opposite sex at all. The plot twists are not expected, as well as psychological nuances. But there are a lot of questions even to the end - it is hard to believe that the brothers did not communicate so long as not to know about the problem of marriages of each other. If it is worth watching this slightly incoherent picture, it is only because of the cute parents and the immense charm of Pankratov-Black. It is all based on the essence – expression, quite cute jokes, the only integral and understandable character, and a wonderful phrase about a person who is just a cog in the mechanism called “family”. Much could be deduced from it, but the film preferred not to dig deeply, but to remain not quite romantic, not yet erotic, but only a campaign order on a demographic theme, made as a commercial comedy.
Comedies Eiramajan for our latitudes are a special genre. Nothing less. On TV and in our minds, the best Soviet and Russian comedies are associated only with Ryazanov, da Gaidai, and about Eyramadzhan, especially recently, have been completely forgotten. But what did Ryazanov and Gaidai film? Something neutral for adults and children, about everything and nothing. Eyramadjan in his ideas covers only one topic and this is the theme of love, where it is not at all as fabulous and incredible as in "Irony" or "Premonition", but it is more vital, useful and real. And also fun, of course. Eyramadjan gives us theme and his works, which are not just fabulously painted and embellished. In his works, it is our life, our intimate problems, acquaintances, meetings, “walking around” and funny funny cases that surround us in life everywhere.
Uniqueness, simplicity and beauty of thought - that's what allows you to call the work of Eyramadjan a separate genre, at least in our, limited to all cinema.
In addition to the specific and unique themes, the main symbols of the maestro’s films are the unsurpassed Alexander Pankratov-Black and his mustache, as well as Mikhail Kokshenov. But if the latter often plays secondary games, the first is on horseback in any case. In general, Pankratov-Black, I think it is impossible not to love. The man is truly a talent. And although his roles as active and charming males are mostly of the same type, nevertheless - this is the case when you can safely say "this is his!". Well, I, in turn, once again take off my hat for the excellent work in the favorite genre before the mustache of the Soviet Union. And, of course, it is about “nofelet”.
Personally, I would christen this film as the first, and perhaps only, pickup film of the Soviet Union. And if so, in fact, it is one of the elementary films-lessons of seduction and charm, shown and told literally on your fingers: simple and clear, like all Soviet education.
The turning point was approaching in the courtyard – the collapse of the Union, and, apparently, the air of freedom and permissiveness began to blow in the cinema, where the theme of platonic (not moral) love before this film somehow ... was carefully veiled. Eyramadzhan and took advantage of the moment, creating an easy entertaining comedy about seduction, singles and males, dates, a light pickup, but he did not forget to pay tribute to Soviet education, leaving the screen space for true book love (which from my side seems more like giving due censorship than an author's move). And, given that all this is seasoned with Pankratov-Black, one smile of which can bring to humorous hysteria, we get a very intriguing film textbook, with comfortable timing and favorite actors.
Despite the fact that the Mosfilm film, it is still like an author’s and certainly not the most expensive. Anyway, a couple of apartments, one office, and a couple of streets gold-domed - clearly not a hint of scale. (But this information is, by the way)
I would like to note in simple Russian that the film charges (not without the help of Pankratov-Black charm) with a giant energy and a radiant smile, which, at least for several hours, will not leave you! So, young seducers, who have subtracted the name of the film from the list of the best films about a pickup truck, do not waste time and take to the streets on the positive, pull smiles on your faces and break the oath. Life is so short... (And single life is even shorter!)
I remember being such a shy guy. And for me, it was clearly possible to distinguish the terms “shyness” and “modesty”. In life I could not come and get acquainted with an unfamiliar girl or even have a casual conversation with a stranger. But, most interestingly, it did not apply to familiar females. Could (and actually still) calmly joke, flirt, ask for a date... But it was necessary to see a beautiful stranger on the bus and I, just like the hero of Menshov, cried behind the back of a number of standing people and only sneakily looked at her.
No, I didn't get married on the bus, I'm not gonna lie. But the situation of the hero is very familiar to me. And maybe because of this, or maybe because of the brighter play of Pankratov-Black, I liked the hero Gena more. He is more alive, or just his type causes me more interest.
Generally speaking about acting, well done of course all: great images of parents, all the girls are cute and interesting, but still oh how shiny Pankratov-Black. Even the scene with Irina Rozanova came out great and comic.
But the film itself, in general, causes a little bitterness. The bitterness of resentment is that such light, but at the same time quite life films in Russia are now filmed oh how rarely. Oh, it's Soviet cinema and its charm.

Soviet pickup truck. For a little over an hour we could see him. Master class from Gene - a person with a lack of moral foundations, family values, in general, a good, glorious person. With irrepressible energy.
That's what I don't like. The character of Pankratov-Black is unpleasant to me. Fussy, trying to seem such a cocksucker, funny, humorous. To women, some consumer attitude, without respect, without a shadow of embarrassment can call a woman a crocodile. In short, a nasty guy, I don't know what kind of positive emotions he can evoke.
Another thing is Paul. Diameterally opposite figure. Shy, modest, but these calm qualities somehow more attractive. Besides, this one, if he gets married, will last his whole life. There is a lot to learn from each other.
I didn’t like the movie personally. First, the hero of Pankratov-Black, of course, a master in the search for girls, but he turned out to be unpleasant. His humor is tense, unfunny, even stupid. Second, the humor of the whole film has the same qualities. "No nofelet came to us." The movie lacks good jokes. Or fun situations. The film itself, of course, is positive, optimistic, but this fun is supported only by a kind of funny Gene, in the arsenal of which there are no really witty pearls. Any “this is Chekhov, I would not say so” I do not take into account, it is depressing.
What I liked about the film was the role of Vladimir Menshov, the general Soviet atmosphere and the corresponding musical accompaniment. But it is in me that nostalgia for those times speaks.
