Endlosung der Judenfrage There are not many reviews for this film, so I will leave my thoughts here. When you turn on the film, the first scene looks very promising - you want to put the highest ball for it, but the movie is just beginning! But the problem is that after the juicy confrontation of skinheads-"cleaners" against informals (led by a young surgeon, by the way), the perception is tuned to the fact that there will be something in the spirit of "Crash" Vs "Harlequino" with fights like "Fan". The reality turned out to be much worse - there will be another worthy episode of the disco with the subsequent trial of homosexuals, as well as the final fight of the protagonist with his former entourage. Therefore, a lot of thinking on the subject of the plot and the idea of the film somehow do not want – I will go through the personalities.
The main character (no, I will not call him a “hero”) with the appearance of a young Alexander Kuritsyn-Nevsky, the whole film reflects on the topic of the sudden news that he is the son of a Jewish composer. It is these sufferings and attempts to accept reality that we will watch the whole film. To be honest, the main disadvantage of this movie lies in this – I frankly do not understand and do not accept the motivation of the main character. And without that, I can't empathize with him, only be perplexed by his actions. Why? After all, you can see that the man was in his place - with what fire in his eyes he directed the bulldozer in a fight with bikers, how important he behaved in his circle in the basement, with what pleasure he squeezed money from the co-operator. And he traded all this for a relationship with a man whom he has known for only two days and whose personality he disgusts, but who forgives him because he believed without any hard evidence that he was his father? I don't believe it! And what will he do next in life, if everything he knows and knows is connected with his racketeering activities, which he is able to do only being at the head of a gang of sports thugs. And without them he is no one, and this is clearly visible in his physical form, how easily he is kicked out of the apartment by the necks of an old flimsy Jew and, of course, in the episode as he loses consciousness in the lumbar grip from a mute verzila. Why did he even deserve the right to be called a supermeneom with such physical training and weak moral foundations? Even the fact that the character is constantly looking for an opportunity to get a gun indicates his insecurity in his own abilities.
Opposed to him is the so-called. his father, played by the magnificent Oleg Borisov. I cannot but say that this is an Actor with a capital letter - he played for everyone here, masterfully conveying the Jewish personality, embodying all human vices in his hero! And with his motivation, everything is clear – he is an experienced wanderer who has already seen everything in his path, but still knows how to enjoy every day. Meeting with the so-called. his son seems to him such a tempting safari and he is ready for this adventure, because again life begins to boil and he is frankly delighted by this (" as in youth - you wake up and do not know how the day will end, all improvisation). Why would such a charming life lover, with his talents and art, attract people to him, and not rush at least to Abakan, at least somewhere else!
Well, the icing on the cake is the evil genius of the whole story - Alena, the warrior of cleaners. Those whose motives are logical and whose behavior is justified. In general, I would not dare to guess whether she invented this story with fatherhood or successfully fished out this fact, but in any case it is an amazing multi-movement on her part! Although I didn’t quite understand how she was going to kill Naum (he was supposed to fall off the ride, crash into something or so, die of a heart attack?), any action she took is understandable and delighted with her unswerving pursuit of her goal. She was offended, she harbored anger and now craves revenge, coldly bringing her chess game to the endgame. And what a powerful metaphor of her personality is a clown that tries to make the respectable public laugh, going down into the dungeon, like a Lucifer into his possessions, tears off the mask of a jester and exposes his diabolical essence. Bravo!
I'll highlight one more character. The one who should rightfully take the place of the Fuehrer of the local group - a white-blond stormtrooper, who introduced himself as a Lawyer. Why is he more deserving of being a cleaner? Visually, he is better pumped, much more convincing in eloquence, is the soul of the company, which is willingly listened to (these stories about Schwarzenegger), fanatical about what he does and generally does not lag behind the main character (noticed how in the first scene he stands next to him in the first line, and then the first to think of using abandoned vehicles as a ramming weapon?). In addition, he shows a high devotion to his ideals - he does not immediately refuse to accept the betrayal of Andrew, believing that he is mistaken. But he also chastises him for throwing a flag and creates a mocking atmosphere before sending a Jew on his last journey. A true patriot of his work!
As an epilogue, when someone points a finger at the moon, it does not mean that you should look at it, and not at the person pointing. What am I talking about? This film is a co-production with France and was a participant in the main competitive program of the Cannes Film Festival - in fact, it is explained to those who needed to raise the Jewish question and expose in this light the Russian fascist thugs who are shown in spirit closer to the Soviet Luberators. But the problem of cinema is not only in this – the film was late by literally a year and has already lost the status of perestroika cinema of the USSR, but in this context of the era it could go and look a little different.
Nevertheless, my review color is green – Oleg Borisov convinced me, Alexander Savin liked me, and Natalia Egorovoy I empathized. Plus points for the skillfully staged battle of the proletariat, which met capitalism in bayonets and disco to the song "Atas" Lube.
