Metaphysics grade 7-A The external plot of the picture is quite simple: under the merry jazz music of the composer Firtich (whom I respect, appreciate and love - see his work in the cinema) on the train "Moscow-Vladivostok" in the Siberian state town of Gusev (in which there is neither a large nor a small theater), a young teacher Lidia Sergeevna comes from Moscow; this is her first place of work. Director Fedor Fedorovich meets the young teacher kindly and friendly. In the process of work, young Lydia Sergeevna makes some mistakes, getting too close to the children - and she has to leave the teaching staff of the boarding school and go back to Moscow on the train "Moscow-Vladivostok".
But I'm interested in the metaphysics of what's going on: is the film perhaps deeper than it seems to the superficial viewer? Therefore, I will propose this game: I will line up adult characters of the film by age and find everyone a plausible fate.
Historian Prokopyich: the oldest (ancient) character; a rolling field, a man without roots: in winter he will work as a stove, and in summer he will wander around Siberia, to Sakhalin, he will wash gold, he will catch a fish. Not a native Siberian. A dispossessed man? He did not participate in the war, but his son fought.
Mathematics teacher Nikolai Stepanovich: 30 years of experience, busy with his own farm, although an excellent teacher. Isn't he a repressed man? Rehabilitated? It's kind of bruised. Very similar to Küchelbecker in reference.
Director Fedor Fedorovich: for now we will leave it.
Raisa Vasilyevna, senior teacher: originally the class teacher of 7-A, in whose place the young Lydia Sergeevna was put. She is an active but uninitial woman.
Evgenia Ivanovna, also a young teacher, but very insecure.
Lidia Sergeevna, the main character, a graduate of a pedagogical university, the first place of work.
Valery Pavlovich, physical: just lives and works, tries not to interfere in anything, do everything right and in fact does not affect anything.
And, most importantly, the 7-A class: Gennady, a hooligan, but he does not climb from literate, intellectual, for a word in his pocket, knows his rights and will not give another descent; he leads in fact a small gang of 4 more people. Sanya (Victor Kosykh) - fell into slavery to Gennady, losing to him in billiards. Other students.
And now let’s see what choice students have, what fate they choose?
Sanya, who stole 10 rubles from the teacher, becomes an outcast; only Prokopyich can lean against him (allusion with Bazhovsky “Stone Flower”: “There was a master Prokopyich at that time ...”) Yes, only this Prokopyich can not give anything - and in fact abandons Sanya.
Mathematician Nikolai Stepanovich is bruised and not an authority at all.
Physician is good – and this is a good choice – for example, Gennady and his accomplices.
Director. It's equally deleted. He is successful as a leader of a large team, so he has no time to delve into the problems of individual students. Did Sanya stumble? We will teach others by his example. Brutal? Just as a general manages a group of people and can sacrifice individually to achieve results, so the director must more or less give some kind of education, socialize the children. One "dead" is an acceptable loss.
A fresh breath of air from Moscow Lydia Sergeevna: beckoned children, gave an idea of another, interesting world; and the children were carried away by this emerging opportunity of thaw, soulfulness, personal relationship. But ... leaving, abandoning the children.
Note that the class almost coped with the conflict on their own: almost found out who stole the money, found the money, taking it from Gennady. But the authoritarian director did not notice this growing up, independence. Everything will remain the same in the school.
And the good intentions of the intelligentsia who came from the capital will not be picked up: neither Lydia Sergeevna has an inner fortress - so, the bright ideas of youth, nor children have the opportunity to rely on these ideas.
The thaw is over. Moral: Don’t believe the intellectuals in Moscow, they’ll cheat. Try not to stick out or break. Life is monotonous, no choice. Boarding school.
This is the game.
I watch movies of the 60s suspended: I almost all saw them under the Soviet regime. But this film – I will thank Lev Krugloy, who left for France – has not been withdrawn from circulation. So I just saw him now. I was surprised by the modernity of the film. Well, I have to say that the writer Khmelik is a confident professional. So the film is multifaceted and interesting.
Try to see more in it than shown.
The movie itself. Very pleased Leo Round - just a wonderful job. Stylistically, the film reminded me of “Lives such a guy”: the same Siberia, trains go through the taiga, people live.
