This is one of the most boring DC movies I’ve seen so far. From the very first minutes, the film throws a ton of information about Egyptian gods, artifacts, some crown and other stuff that you want to start writing a summary just in case you need some exam.
The bottom line is that for many years a country rich in all sorts of minerals is constantly robbed by different people: formerly emperors, now criminal cartels. But everyone is waiting for some defender there, who will surely come soon, and the indigenous population will breathe a full breath.
A story with huge holes. Well, frankly, at first we are told that the sacred crown was hidden so that “no mortal can find it”, then, after a while, a group of rebels (and a very primitive group) calmly finds this notorious crown in some cave. And the traitor has such a “notable” hairstyle and manner of behavior that you immediately understand – he will betray. There are many such examples throughout the film.
The conflict between the Defender and the “company of superheroes” (that the others are not at all interesting and do not have any disposition for themselves) is a very cheap attempt to somehow change the usual superhero plot. However, all this red tape with antiquities, gods, defenders of the gods is so tiresome that even on action scenes you dullly yawn.
Very fresh, very confused, somehow too dusty and ancient.
I’m not very familiar with the DC universe and I’m not a big fan of it. I expected a mediocre superhero movie from Black Adam, but it turned out to be even worse.
Slow Mo. This is a great tool that can give the viewer a better view of the frame. But when all the epic scenes are made up of a slow mo, it starts to get on your nerves. I understand that this is a kind of DC “trick”, but to see the same shots with the evil grimace of Hawkman and the colored whirlpool of Cyclone ... it’s just stretching screen time.
Conflict sucked out of a finger: Sabback vs. peace. This “problem” is not even a problem at all. The ancestor of the great King Kandak, who wants to destroy the world just to destroy the world. Consider the DC universe. Bane is the main villain of the film The Dark Knight. A revival of the legend. His aim was simple: to revolutionize the country and to create peace in accordance with his ideals. In the Marvel Universe, Ultron wanted to destroy humanity because he considered it a threat to Earth and believed that genocide was the only way to secure this planet. Now, what's Sabbac's goal? Nothing. On the one hand, he wants to sit on the throne to rule Kandaq, and on the other, to destroy the world. Even in Dr. Faith’s visions, we were shown that the world ended in ashes.
The only problem that makes sense is the resident of Kandak against Interbanda.
The characters in the film are very mediocre. For example, Hawkman, who divides the world only into good and bad and by the end of the film does not change at all.
I’m not surprised why this movie has low ratings. One look and forget.
It is logical that any superhero should have a special enemy that is not so easy to get rid of. Batman has been battling the Joker for decades, and it’s unclear who will win. But Iron Man, if you take into account the comics, can not imagine his life without confrontation with Mandarin, and this is truly an epic story, which we, unfortunately, did not really see in the movies. Could not do without a famous opponent and Shazam, one of the most remarkable heroes of DC. Once fate pitted him against Black Adam, and since then they have fought each other at least once every 10 years in epic battles, and sometimes even join forces. And this feature of their difficult relationship makes Black Adam a special value, which we finally saw in a solo film.
The film takes place in the fictional Arab state of Kandak, which long before our era was under the yoke of a power-hungry tyrant who dreamed of world domination. However, the council of sorcerers decided to challenge him and endowed one of the slaves with incredible power that could help the slave people finally find freedom. But it so happened that the new defender Kandak became his evil fate. The wizards believed that Tet-Adam was not worthy of living on earth and imprisoned him in a tomb for thousands of years.
If we talk about the main plot, it is already unfolding in our time and brings us back to Kandak. Since then, the local people have never been completely free. The international group has subjugated the country and is literally draining all its resources. And just at this time, quite unexpectedly, Tet-Adam returns from nothingness. He has to understand how the new world works and accept himself in it. And his methods, however brutal, are the only correct ones in a situation where his native country tolerates the hated presence of interventionists every day.
The film about Black Adam was developed by DC since the early 2000s and it is interesting that throughout this time it was Dwayne Johnson who had to play the main role. He finally did it. In addition, Johnson had a hand in the script and worked closely with director Jaume Colette-Serra, including the reshoot process. However, despite such love for the antihero on the part of “The Rock”, the film turned out to be a one-time mediocre attraction.
Most of the plot is occupied by endless and not the most intricate action scenes. They, of course, make you pay closer attention to what is happening on the screen, but at the same time the drama of the film critically suffers. We cannot fully empathize with Black Adam and his fellow local boy who is crazy about Justice League heroes. The feeling of real danger is absent here, as a fact, and it does not pass until the very end of the viewing.
Nor is the so-called “Justice Society,” which looks more like the X-Men of the rival Cinema Universe. The heroes of Brosnan and the company are introduced into the plot absolutely unsophisticated and artificially. They are not really disclosed and it is not clear why they were needed here. These are not so much heroes as cardboards for action scenes, and only the same Brosnan elicits at least some response from the audience.
In general, the film was not the best, but also not a failure. It can be watched for general interest, but after James Gunn took over DC, it became clear that the company had no plans to bring back Black Adam, who clearly deserved much more than a mediocre film.
A new character with superpowers in movies. “Black Adam” performed by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is another product of the DC Universe, which decided to stamp solo books almost every year.
The lead actor is voiced, the director of the picture is well known for thrillers with Liam Neeson Jaume Collet-Serra. What else? A budget of $260 million, a little more than two hours of action and... Another story about another character in a tight suit.
There’s nothing in Black Adam that the audience hasn’t seen elsewhere. And when watching this picture, it seems that the creators of DC films simply take the same script and stamp the films on the same patterns, but at the same time introduce new superhumans into the narrative. The plot does not change from project to project and Black Adam is just a movie. One of many in which the main character again performs the role of the savior.
Yes, Adam is presented as an antihero (as well as in comics, where he also appears as a villain), but this does not change the essence: in any case, let him be an antihero or a supervillain, but the creators of this film found an even more vicious comrade who became the Evil, against which Adam is just a sweetie!
Here was even supposed to appear Eclipso – a villain from the Justice League, but it was the presentation of Black Adam as an antihero, not a villain, that led to the fact that Eclipso was abandoned, and Adam was made more “spiritual”.
Johnson's character's self-reflection is touching. He does not know who he is, he is accused of inflicting pain on people and those who call themselves defenders fight against him (but at the same time they appear out of nowhere - no background, nothing!), but at the same time the viewer directly sees how gray matter wanders inside the cranial box of the Rock, because it is so important for him to understand: what is he?!
And the realization of their purpose happens suddenly. When people, including by the will of Adam (because of his stupidity), are on the verge of death.
Of the advantages, we can note the fact that most of the cast is not tied to holes in many projects. Pierce Brosnan is one of the most famous here, Dwayne Johnson. Sometimes it’s good to see someone new for a change. The main role here still played a star. But still. This film is not cut to pieces due to the abundance of Hollywood celebrities. I thought it was an advantage for Adam.
Another plus point is the appearance in a cameo of Henry Cavill in the image of Superman. He was good and he looked that way and it’s a shame that James Gunn and Peter Safran turned down the Man of Steel sequel. Cavill said of his appearance in Adam: This is one of the best moments of my career. I am very happy to be able to wear it again.
But look at you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
Going back to the DC Cinematic Universe, as sad as it may sound, I personally remember only the worst that ever happened to it. Yes, there were a couple of good films whose creators tried to squeeze their vision and original ideas into an already rather flimsy design, where the new character received a maximum of one unfortunate solo novel, which was supposed to correct the mistakes and mistakes of previous projects, but each time unsuccessfully! That’s why David F. Sandberg’s much-loved “Shazam!” (2019) has always been seen as a great, yet stand-alone, entertaining kinzo, stuffed with references to DC’s less successful big-screen adventures. And now that we are being promised global change with the arrival of James Gunn, I think it would be useful to talk about another commodity that caused such frequent failures, and as a result of full or partial reboots of the franchise. Let's go in order.
Characters:
Black Adam and his dancer:
It all begins with a very banal, boring and drawn-out backstory of the protagonist, which throws us back thousands of years to the ancient civilization called Kandak. And believe me, you will deeply care about all the local plot intricacies, because the ragged narrative and a cloud of absolutely uninteresting protagonists, whose motivation and goals fit literally in two lines of voice on the background, and whose abilities due to the lack of details and elaboration of lore, look like a brazen copypaste of Marvel characters - discourage at least the slightest desire to dive into what is happening. In short, there is an analogue of Doctor Strange and a faint copy of Ant-Man, and the imitator Storm from the X-Men (who, nevertheless, catches, thanks to the charm of the actress) and a pathetic likeness of the Falcon from the Avengers, and even if you, unlike me, are familiar with their versions from the comics, here, again, it looks secondary. Not without ordinary people, whose obvious physical vulnerability to superheroes and simultaneous immortality, due only to the script, which is sometimes annoying, however, as well as the characters themselves, in particular Amon Tomaz - the desperate desire of the authors to come up with their own Freddie Freeman from Shazam! (2019) - a close friend and partner of Captain Kolgotkin - but completely devoid of sound enthusiasm Freddie and funny presentation Jack Dylan Grazer.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The only fascinating element of this action is Dwayne Johnson, masculine charisma, which various studios and directors exploit from film to film, in the role of a very controversial figure with a peculiar worldview and their own methods of combating evil, with whom the best battle (and not only!) scenes are associated.
Sabback:
Talking about it, without touching on a few plot nuances, will, alas, not easy, but ( omitting these details!), running through the main characteristics that allow you to judge this antagonist, you will find it offensively repulsive in terms of design, motivation and acting! And it offends all this together, because to date, so much has been filmed, written and painted in the superhero genre than can be inspired, rethinked or ridiculed in an openly cynical way, but some authors, both from Marvel and DC, stubbornly continue to step on the same rake and take from all this abundance only the worst!
The visual component. There is nothing that you could not see in dozens of other similar films and watch how another team of metahumans in Slow-mo deal with an avalanche of nameless soldiers, simply not fascinating, although, in some places, tolerable humor, and again, the pressure and efforts of Dwayne Johnson to revive not the best, especially in those moments when the actor in the frame is replaced by cheap computer graphics, action and disgusting dialogue, make allocated two and more hours for viewing, a little less senseless!
"Black Adam" Jaume Collet-Serra, is unlikely to become something important, bright or memorable, this tape is likely to get lost among many similar quality film adaptations of comics, disappointed loyal fans, and ordinary viewers left in complete perplexity!

While the DC Cinematic Universe tried unsuccessfully to catch up with a competitor in the face of Marvel, their animated universe was and is 10 steps ahead. And every time I watched another DC animated masterpiece, I asked only one question - is it really difficult for you to just shoot it in the form of a movie?
I was so wrong!
What is quite normal in animation here looks terrible. For example, most cartoons film a separate arc of comics, so you are not confused by the appearance of superheroes or supervillains that you may not have heard of before. But here we have a film within the movie universe and to declare a team that calls itself the Justice Society as a certain norm is completely wrong. Who are all these people? Where did they come from? Why are some of them presented as heirs to people we don’t know? Why, finally, there was no word about people with such powers before? The only normal connection to the cinematic universe is the ubiquitous Amanda Waller, whose role in 3 films has never been explained. To this team is added a fictional country with a magical (literally) mineral, which is only on its territory. Do you not understand the magician in a golden helmet? You also have a magical mineral, which everyone has long known, but decided not to mention earlier in other films.
The second element inherent in animation, but not relevant in cinema, is the ubiquitous pathos. And this is not about Dwayne Johnson, which embodies pathos in itself. No, it's about secondary characters who push pretentious speeches at inappropriate times and inappropriate situations. And the most disgusting embodiment of stupid pathos is the boy Samir, who behaves as if he knows that he is protected by the hand of the screenwriter and he is not in danger of death. And it is thanks to this scenario invulnerability that they try to present him as the last believer in freedom and almost the leader of the uprising. Well, emphasizes and sums up the cartoon of the film original graphics and its stylization, as well as scenes of violence and cruelty, which is also the hallmark of DC animation.
In the end, the film is just an exemplary adaptation of the cartoon, which does not exist, and even not perceived as something that is part of the DC Cinematic Universe. And all this is not only in the plus picture, but on the contrary in a huge minus.
Perhaps, if you still manage to perceive the picture as an expensive fan fiction, then it is quite possible to look. If the integrity of the universe and minimal logic are important to you, pass by.

' Black Adam' - The Rock from Head to Toe! Dwayne is here: the actor, the producer, and partly the writer, and the director, the ambitious Rock, probably, also partly engaged. . .
Will the rock guarantee the quality of the picture? Hardly!
Will it be a guarantee of the success of the film at the box office? Quite!
The presence of the Rock in the film, in my opinion, brought both its benefits and its harm! The benefit - the Rock's all-round support and help, as well as his face on the posters - is already immediately promoting the film, and some will go to the movies purely because of it!
Damage is Dwayne's face again! To see another film in which the entire timekeeping of the Rock walks with a gloomy face is already stability, but man, can I have at least a little acting? The rock can play, he has mega charisma, but it feels like he uses it very rarely.
If we talk about everything in general, the film is a normal average! The rock plays the same Hobbs from 'Fast and Furious', only much morose and now he's a god! His hero does not stand out, he does not have any wow features and abilities except that the extremely rocked body thanks to the Rock.
About 'The Justice Society of America' - so to speak I can't. They're a big plus, and Pierce Brosnan is a titan! Had they been revealed more, and given them more time, the team would clearly look more expressive than Adam, but alas, we have a film about Adam.
The other characters are minor blanks for one movie. Yes, where you need to have fun and MB even knock out a tear, but sympathy for yourself is not particularly cause.
Good graphics and cool music - a couple of advantages of the film provide.
The plot develops in a third world country, because of which the story does not feel something large-scale and significant, from which the question arises: '. Well, the fact that the plot is stable, banal and already impossibly secondary - I will be silent at all.
And if we talk about the most important - fishing rods for the future, cameo and the future of DC, then the prospect of a mahachi with Superman, Shazam, etc., of course sounds interesting, but before their implementation is still far away and whether it will be cool - the question is debatable. Cameo in the form of Amanda Waller, the wife of James Gunn (who played in the recent Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, even if I don’t remember her name), and of course, returning Henry Cavill to the role of Clark is very nice to see and connects this film well with the past.
In the end, I want to believe that DC won’t give control of the Rock’s films, otherwise you won’t get far. Yes, we have been made to understand that the hierarchy has changed, and in the case of DC, that is very good. But if DC is going to go down this path in the style of 'Black Adam', then I doubt that such a concept will live long. The film is 5/10 from me, as I said - average! You can watch if you do not have any hopes and treat the film purely as entertainment. Without the Rock, I think the film would not have had such success, but again its presence, as well as a lot of things, plays in the negative. . .
P.S. What a separate remark about dubbing! A copy of this film was made in Georgia and, if it’s not a thrash, it’s at least a very incomprehensible thing! You can see that actors are very unusual to do this, and, due to inexperience, they are somewhere under/overplay. Speaking, swallowing words and unrelated speech are present here. Also, the lion’s part of the actors of dubbing, especially the male, voices their phrases with brutality for something, talking to themselves, trying to make their voice lower. Understand correctly, for those people who dubbing is not principled and are not particularly interested in it - nothing like this will not notice, there will be norms. But for those people who, at least, are interested in it, etc., there will be a difference for them. Kazakhstan also has shortcomings in their dubbing, mistakes, etc., but they are quite capable of giving good work, and the Georgian dubbing is alas, it is still difficult to listen to.
DC comic book characters are an amazing phenomenon. In general, most famous characters are more interesting, deeper and more elaborate than their counterparts from Marvel. But for some absolutely unthinkable reasons, the quality of the studio's films leaves much to be desired, with rare exceptions. The theme of comics is slowly beginning to fade and no longer causes hot excitement. Last but not least, the amount of content per theme is to blame, but in this case DC’s biggest enemy is quality. The more interesting is the decision to change horses at the crossing right now.
Black Adam - the phenomenon is completely unique, because literally 2-3 months the picture has rolled from mediocre and template in a frankly useless film. Due to innovations in the DC Comics ranks, all staff characters (namely the actors playing their roles) are going through the latest iteration and will soon leave us. Adam got the most, as everyone hoped that he could change the hierarchy of forces within the universe, and in the end the hierarchy showed the middle finger to the initiator.
It is extremely difficult to discuss what is happening in the film, because no one even tried to work on the script. The whole film has the feeling that the picture with a timekeeping of about two hours was shot in one very scary and faded location. It doesn’t even smell expensive, except for the bad and raw CGI. The first 15 minutes is sleep, sleep again and again. The reason for this is the bundle, which from a couple of sentences turned into a bunch of unnecessary frames, which are interconnected by completely secondary characters whose names you will not remember, even if you wish. Only after this monstrously ridiculous prologue does HE appear.
The main problem here, perhaps, is not even tasteless directing (from, in my opinion, the talentless director Jaume Collet-Serra), how much the lack of interesting characters. In addition to The Rock and Pierce Brosnan, which sympathetically played the role of Dr. Faith, the rest of the caste is a random set of bizarre absurdities that generally do not affect anything and do not bring either atmosphere or depth to the cinema. Take them and replace them with any other heroes and nothing would change. Which once again shows how much everyone here didn't care about the script.
In 2022, it is extremely difficult to surprise with visuals or special effects, and since the story has not been brought here, then it remains small to be satisfied.

Totally catastrophic use of the $200 million budget. Not everyone will be able to cope even 15 minutes of this miracle project. Don't waste your time.
It is his darkness that allows him to do what heroes cannot.
There were no big expectations for Black Adam. As of late, superheroes are more upset than happy. But the movie wasn’t as bad as they say. Yes, it can not be called a masterpiece, but the film causes positive emotions, although I admit the script leaves much to be desired.
I did not know anything about the character, I do not know the original source, so I judge more by what I saw. Before Dwayne Johnson came along, things were pretty dull. There are bad guys, there are good guys. There's a king, there's slaves. Disclosure is small enough, but things have changed since the Defender came along. Immediately begins a chic action, the disclosure of Adam and the subsequent battles.
Of course, for 200 million viewers have the right to demand more disclosure from the creators than we were shown. I'd like to see more about this Justice Society, yes Faith is interesting, yes Hawk is interesting. But this is one of the few films where Antihero Adam is more interesting than all these positive characters, largely because he was revealed, showed depth, showed his relationship with his son, his pain, his despair, he wants to experience. And Dwayne himself has changed, he is very fast, cruel, his character deserves respect, you want to look at him, you want more scenes with him.
I really liked Adam, I liked the fact that he's kind of a cross between good and evil, he's kind of closer to evil, and he doesn't see himself as a hero, but he's also capable of doing good, he's got a big heart, he's got a lot of pain and darkness, and that's what he likes most about him. His sufferings, experiences, thoughts about his son were very much liked, as was his whole story. Of course, the action is good, there are many, but the inner pain and struggle are very sunk in the soul.
In general, the film, despite all the shoals in the script, looks like a typical DC film, everything is as I love: suffering, darkness, struggle, drama, no jokes, well, almost. ..
Dwayne Johnson was very pleased with his game, I will not say that he showed something grandiose, but his former was not enough, there were no smiles almost the whole film, jokes are isolated, he is fast, inner experiences and thoughts about his son, pain that is visible to the naked eye. I'm used to it being purely positive, it's a completely different hero. He looks good. It looked pretty good at least.
Pierce Brosnan, Dr. Faith is probably the most beloved hero after Adam. The most human, soulful, who helps and in which there is really a lot of good. He's very quick on his side. Pierce surprised by the excellent play and soulfulness of his character.
Lorne Balf wrote very cool music, I want to listen to it and listen to it. Black Adam's theme is particularly stirring.
Black Adam is a movie worth watching at least once to feel the character’s pain, his experiences, his strength and power. Where the antihero is much more interesting than all the positive characters of the film, but the problem in the script is significant, but how Adam was revealed, I really liked it. I liked that Dwayne Johnson is not a mountain of muscles that beats everyone, but first of all a character who does not consider himself a hero, but still he has a heart, even if there is little kindness and sympathy in him, it is only for a small number of characters. This pain within him and suffering conquers.
A terrible adaptation of the already not-so-popular DC hero. I bet there are great examples of taking completely unpopular Persians from comic books like Guardians of the Galaxy or Peacemaker (funny that it was James Gunn all along) and making candy out of it, sending it to the masses. But this is not the case at all.
I immediately did not like the color filter, which was superimposed on the picture, giving it high contrast and predominant sand color, which seems to hint at the scene of the film, spoiling the impression at once at least twice. Secondly, everything turned out to be something unpressed at least to an acceptable level: the actors do not play, the jokes are slightly funny, and as for the antihero himself performed by Dwayne Johnson, I could not fully understand how I could perceive him - if with irony and a smile on his face, his jokes were not funny at all and were played too straightforwardly, if serious, then these very attempts to joke always interfere. I don't understand.
And I keep silent about the logic of many actions and things that are either already too caricatured and primitive, or constantly puzzled my face. For example, why during so many years of excavation, the rebels who captured Kondak did not find the crown, and the resistance detachment climbs into the first cave and quickly comes to the right place, and for me, the motivation of the villain of our time, who somehow learned about his ancestor, who was killed in ancient times and needs to avenge him thousands of years later, will never be completely clear. Speaking of the villain himself, this is an ordinary traitor, let’s call things by their proper names, who became a real villain only at the end, before that was just a faded echo against the background of the fights between Black Adam and the Justice Society.
The only bright spot in the whole story is Pierce Brosnan’s hero, Doctor Faith, who predicts the future and wields magic (something like Dr. Strange at Marvel). He looks beautifully presented, endowed with at least some common sense, and sometimes he can joke, and it flies. I wouldn’t be surprised if the DC Cinematic Universe restarts all of these characters with either a recast or a major overhaul of their approach. More than ever, the DC Universe needs major changes, led by a very smart person who is especially awe-inspired about superheroics.
It’s hard to imagine that Dwayne Johnson has been waiting for this role for just over 10 years. And finally, he waited for his appearance in the DC Comics universe. Was he waiting in vain and did the film justify such a long wait? Let's figure it out.
The film tells more about the anti-hero than about the villain with abilities like the hero Shazam. He was born 2500 years BC, and has survived to the present day, because "spoiler".
In general, the film itself, unfortunately, can not boast of a plot that I would like to put as an example on par with the Dark Knight or the last avengers. For the most part, the film is passing, but with interesting plot moves. The movie will surprise you a few times, but nothing more. Unfortunately, Black Adam doesn’t know how to position himself. Whether it is a serious film about the tragedy and the victims of the protagonist, or it is a comedy with kringe inserts. At the same time, separately, these two approaches work, but together they turn the film into a mess.
Adam reveals himself only at the end. It’s more interesting to watch than most minor characters. Characters of the Justice Society of America are added only to fill with additional characters, and many scenes generally cause facepalms and want to squander them.
I was pleased with the musical accompaniment and the cast. It’s also not a 12+ movie. There are scenes that speak directly to the 16+ minimum. For me, it is better to make such films as Deadpool 18+.
In the end, you ask questions.
Does the film have a right to exist? Yeah. This is not a thrash, but not a movie of all films.
Is it worth watching? Yeah. Fans of comic books definitely worth it. I’m afraid fans will be disappointed, and viewers who don’t know the character or the universe at all won’t understand half of what’s going on.
Would you like to review it? Nope. This will not be the case.

It's a one-off superhero movie that many will want to see because of Dwayne Johnson and the post-credits scene. At the very least, I recommend looking at it.
Have a good time. And remember. These are just my words.
The meme man, the rock man, after all, the man who will be president. What Dwayne Johnson has done so far this year is superhero movies. He has been waiting for his release since 2007, when the first information appeared about him getting the role of Black Adam.
As time passed, the Rock became a real superhero in life, millions of people fan him, along with him and laughed at all over the Internet, his gifs are used by every decent user of social networks, and the most loyal fans weave his divine tequila from the shelves while washing it down, no less wonderful energy from the same Uncle Dwayne.
If you do not like to drink or are far from social networks, then this is not a problem, because everyone listens to music, just one appearance in the music industry and humanity will forever remember that it’s all about drive, it’s all about power, we stay hungry, we devour.
The rock was able to form a whole movie universe around it, called a “dumb movie with a charismatic swing for the evening” everyone knows what to expect from such a film. And this is not an accident, in most of the projects that we see with the Rock, he is also a producer, may soon wait for his debut as a director.
While another wrestling star Dave Batista is trying to star in diverse directors, having already created a successful portfolio of the actor in the first place, Johnson is trying to squeeze all the juices out of his role, whether this is bad for cinema, but of course not, only his name in the caste can guarantee almost half a billion, and if there is someone else bald, then expect even more, at least until this year.
When DC bosses despaired of catching up with their competitors on the shop floor, and allowed their films to get away from the all-consuming dark pathos, it was the turn of fun, uncomplicated, colorful comic books. Which also echoes the Marvel way, the simpler and dumber, the better, why invent something new and put yourself at risk when you see your nearest neighbor creating a product for all time. But apparently this path was mistaken, because who knew after the release of Shazam and Wonder Woman 2, their creators learned that they will have a competitor for the title of the worst film of the new bright DC Universe.
The guy in black says hello.
Anyone who has watched any of Johnson’s later films has automatically watched the film, except that in this film, The Rock made himself serious and pompous the whole film, not just part of it. Black Adam awakens from eternal sleep to save the world and overthrow the dictatorship with his eyebrows and endless flights to slow-mo, although Snyder is gone, but the habits of his universe are in place.
The film's script is a mix of typical Hollywood superhero action movies from the 2000s and it could even be a plus if it didn't have as much seriousness and misplaced humor in that film you wanted as Marvel you got. After the news about the numerous rewriting of the script, many questions disappear.
If Black Adam in this film was one, this mess could even make a movie, but no, the presence of another unnecessary secondary superheroes called the Justice Society of America is apparently due to the sale of their figures after the premiere, there is no other explanation, whether it is Hawkman or a big guy in a Deadpool costume, if you need a handful of undisclosed superheroes, then they are already here, adds a little meaning only to the character of Pierce Brosnan, he did not lose in charm after so many years after Bond, his Doctor Faith is the brightest and most memorable spot of this work. As the most intelligent character, in the finale of the film, he acts most fairly towards himself.
After all, Black Adam was supposed to be an antihero, as in the comics, but for some reason every time this line between Anti and just a hero is erased, Adam is able to destroy the henchmen of the villain and police with the help of lightning, these lightning bolts by the way deprive the characters of any blood. The appearance of the villain and the main conflict in the film can be missed simply by turning away for a few minutes, there is nothing more to say about it.
The only thing that can be noted from a visual point of view is the finding of heroes and their battles in the daytime with an abundance of gray-yellow filter, so that the viewer can see every fragment of Uncle Dwayne's costume, every muscle, every forever long frame.
News about the collections say that people can still get tired of the same film, and now there is no talk of a sequel, probably should really move to the director's chair, however, who then will be able to admire themselves on the screen.
If Rock wanted just such a movie after 15 years, then his tastes are more specific than that of Mr. Gray.
Together with his regular producer, Johnson for 2 years repeated that there will be a new hero who will change the hierarchy and restore order, and it happened, the frivolous attitude to the Rock itself changed, now he will not be able to get such a budget and so persistently use himself in the film.
Take care of the Dogs.
Although the film is contradictory to me, it is positive. Marvel is not too different, but that’s the problem. The viewer is not so much aware of the characters, no one really had soloists, and we are thrown into the plot immediately, as in the Avengers of the first, as if we should understand the jokes, jokes between the characters, their background, etc.
A clear reference to the people of X with his estate (even their name did not remember) and a super-fighter. With his Dr. Strange. Sucked from a finger is the story of a guy who could do without. Very clichéd shows dictatorship and 'bad guys'. The imbalance of power from stage to stage is very annoying. Shazam clearly made it clear that the nature of these forces is magic. There is no equal physical force on Earth, that is, only magic can defeat it. And the only creature that can physically equal that magic is Superman. This confrontation was used in marketing, causing anticipation of future projects. And here's a bang, with some golden eagle on equal footing. You could've come up with something smarter. In general, the desire to put more in the timekeeping is bad. And from project to project, this decision fails reviews and fees.
Now for the good.
It is interestingly played out that first there are bad guys and like a good Adam, and then Adam is kind of bad, and good society of meta-people, and then society itself is bad. And if not for the confusion and speed of the story, the idea that from which angle you look, and judge someone, could take the film to a new level.
The image of Adam and his background. In the end, the only revealed character that can be understood. He has no goal, he doesn’t care, so he kills easily, but he has no motivation to knead everyone in a row. His position is ' Get off me, let me just exist' As if to use the force in full (and maybe not to the end). It is only at the end that he is motivated to live.
Special effects. After a string of 'soap' Marvel projects, quite tolerably, there was nothing downright bad.
The result was an average superhero movie, at the level of the Eternals and the First Thor. By the way, Thor is united by the intimacy of what is happening (almost the entire film in the same city with all the action in this city), and the disclosure of the main character by the end of the film and gaining motivation, and total non-disclosure of new characters.
Upfront +1 for Rock and Henry Cavill, and a potential battle between them:

The DC Cinematic Universe is Trying to Stay Afloat
Initially, the development of the Detective Comics movie universe was interesting and comprehensive. Marvel's rivals couldn't keep up, so Zack Snyder launched Batman v Superman after Man of Steel: At the dawn of justice" to include as many characters in the activity, but there were problems, tragedies, scandals, because of which the first "Suicide Squad" went to the fish, and some projects were completely frozen. James Gunn decided to take things into his own hands to renew the squad and add more cultic. “Black Adam” was developed under the hype of “Peacemaker” and “Suicide Squad: Mission Through” to introduce the antihero and more reveal the heroes of the dark universe.
In front of us is a dynamic action movie with an invincible hero whose powers touch the prophecy and magic of the past. The exhibition presents a martyr who challenges the system (as always in comics) to present the world with a defender. The key in the film, as in all superhero projects, as soon as a new character is introduced, the villain is represented, and only a new hero can stop him. Where are the others? The DC universe adds more power, deity, other worlds than Marvel. Therefore, the events of the past with the powers of Shazam transport us to the modern world. Egypt is ruled by new occupiers, but there is no defender. Let’s say Batman is in Gotham, but where’s Superman? Metropolis. Where's the Flash? Central City. In that case, where's Shazam? I'd like to see his powers cast. This is the problem of all superheroes. Each hero defends his city and does not know about the situation in other parts of the world.
Awakening Ted (not the third superfluous) Adam allows you to evaluate the fights in “slow-mo”, enjoy brutal Rock and large-scale action. You don't care what the problems are with people who are minor heroes, we have a Rock in black scattering military equipment. What else? Competitors are tied.
While Zack Snyder introduced the Justice League, director Jaume Collette-Serra introduced the Justice Society of America (JSA). It looked cool and big. Amanda Waller (Nick Fury, DC only) was tied up to lead the capture of Black Adam. The film features Hawkman, Atom, Cyclone and Doctor Faith. That’s what can dilute the collapse of everything at the hands of Black Adam – new heroes. Where were they when tyranny flourished in Egypt? Rhetorical question. But after Adam’s resurrection, they became defenders.
Stupidly and purely for battle, all this is introduced. The picture demonstrates Adam’s neutrality well to show that he is not a typical hero. Anyone who gets in his way just dies. The anti-hero has no principles, no team spirit, he is the strongest on the planet. In this regard, the film pits the OSA against the Rock to show the abilities of the heroes. It’s funny that these or those characters (or abilities) were reflected in both Marvel and DC, so we have self-repeats: the Atom is Ant-Man (in the form of Goliath), the Cyclone is the Storm of the X-Men, Doctor Faith is Doctor Strange. Hawkman seems to have no analogues, but similar characters in abilities from the opposite studio is enough.
Thus, the film throws the characters at each other, leaving Black Adam on the path of heroism. But why remove the individuality of the character? A couple of skirmishes with the OSA, understanding the victim and realizing your power. This is the motivation of the main character, but who to put against a super-megacool character that no one can stop? Again, we turn to prophecy to give what Egypt was saved from 5,000 years ago.
What looks cool? Black Adam’s powers and misunderstandings, the beautiful Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Faith (I’m just looking at Bondiana right now), the more powerful villain who kept his origins a secret from the beginning, the mysterious prophecy when it seems that the threat has passed, but this was not the case. Collectively, these details keep the film afloat, but as soon as a stronger villain begins to do any evil right and left, the OCA does not cope. Why compare forces like that? That was the case in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Batman v Superman, and now Black Adam. No one but the main character can stop the evil. Such an imbalance of forces kills all the intrigue and excitement of the superhero. Beautiful, powerful, large-scale, but banal and simple.
In general, Black Adam is a typical superhero action movie that expands the DC movie universe and gives a funny scene after the credits. Rock epic crushes enemies, destroys buildings and incinerates with lightning.
The expansion of the DC Cinematic Universe is controversial. Zack Snyder had no ideas after “Justice League”, Aquaman will continue his swim in the sequel, Ezra Miller seems to be left again in the solo “The Flash”, the Shazam family will meet the audience next year, Henry Cavill is also returned to the role of Superman, but with Batman deadlock. Matt Reeves introduced his Gotham defender this year with a big lead on the sequel (outside the DC Cinematic Universe), Todd Phillips shot the Joker drama (unfortunately, there will be a sequel, also outside the DC Cinematic Universe). What awaits us?
You can make very beautiful projects, especially Marvel is still losing viewers, movies, TV shows collect bad reviews. Any chance to save the day? Let's see what happens.
Like any sane person, I don't like it when there's a lot of noise and there's not much sense. It is like blowing a wall with a drill all night long, stabbing all the neighbors around, opening the door to the police officer, paying numerous fines and suffering spit in the face from an aggressive neighbor, not moving beyond a millimeter notch on the same long-suffering wall. "Black Adam" in the world of cinema - this is the most repair procedure with a punch: a lot of time and effort is ditched, his hand is reduced from the weight of the instrument, which he held for almost two hours, and neither pleasure nor result. I just want to finish this construction work quickly and rush into the sunset. Yes, and sell the apartment and live like a hippie, building a hut out of branches, only not to return to this delay. Now you know what emotions I felt when I went to the movies to see Adam? Okay, ticket money, but I'm not getting two hours of lost life back. An hour later, the endless and senseless explosions and babachs wanted to scream like a beast whose paw fell into a capitalist trap (the money for the ticket is still paid). The creator intrigued the viewer so diligently that every 20 minutes I looked at the phone screen with hope, relieved to think it was the end. Yes, it may be frail, yes, with a hint of the second part, but finish already and do not be ashamed of this pathetic salt. No, with dull tenacity, the main characters continued to fight evil, which took on more and more bizarre forms. Fantastic, you can do anything. Here the hero or villain can be reborn a hundred times, survive, transform, bringing everyone to the handle. And if you like the film (like “Thora” in the distant 2010th, when I was happy to follow every gesture of the characters and every joke – or maybe just was small and stupid), then here you want to raise your eyebrows skeptically and exclaim “come on?” Seriously, what are you saying?
I’ll say right away that I love The Rock, as for me – he’s the perfect comedy character. The uncle is in great shape, textured, such that he will unbend the horseshoe (by the way, my father, a native of Belgorod, actually had such relatives, maybe this is sympathy at the genetic level), but for me he is further than comedies, “Steping Wide” and “Fast and Furious” should not get out of the usual role of a stupid pitch. Well, I do not write that it is bad: Nikulin here, God forgive me, was a clown, but what! Everyone's good in their roles. And here, in Adam, he is pouncing and pushing, trying to show what a hero he is with a chela full of grief - it turns out to be fake. Not that it is completely ridiculous - his hero slept a fig cloud of years, and education there does not smell, if anything - fists go into battle. But all these attempts to comprehend the current situations in all their diversity evoke such anguish and mortal boredom that it would be better for him to joke, to God.
After Sex and Life, I follow Sarah Shahi in the Insta. I saw that a big promotional tour was organized for the film, oh, rubbed her paws - as if in precocious times, and even in the movies they show something other than Russian films. Sarah herself did not deceive me - she looked very organic in the female version of Indiana Jones - the same fearless, natural, in general - the only living spot in the world of heroes and red tights. Well, the actor who played her son – but there the lines were originally sharpened under 15-year-old viewers, choking on jokes and popcorn, so I can’t appreciate it due to the advanced age of 30. Villains - stilted, superheroes - as from the store "three prices", one there does not seem to blow up what is happening, what chewed constantly I understand, this is an attempt to repeat the success of "Deadpool", but it never looked original and not funny.
Somehow in the company of the saviors of the world (who are fighting for justice, saving the bad guys, about 20 years terrorized poor ordinary people) cramped rather charismatic leader-African-American (all spoiled only his dull appearance), and Pierce Brosnan in the role of gray haired and wisdom old magician. To give credit, looks great even in such a slightly silly role - old school, outwardly aging more than dignified.
I've been squirming around like it's all the wrong coat, but you can actually see things from different angles, depending on what you expect. Special effects are more than at a height, however, and such that from the semantic load remained one puff. If you need to go home after a hard day at work, one eye at the phone, the other at the screen, probably this is the right movie. There is nothing left of the film behind the explosion and rumble - a demonstration of the huge budget spent on impressive special effects. Already in the 15th minute, I began to feel tense that everyone is doing nothing but dying in smoke. By the way, there is another great character - he was alone and joked, and, by the way, very witty - the brother of the main character. It’s a little funny, but you can pay attention.
Summarizing (what a word): a movie for fans of the Rock and comics (probably then you should be 16 at most). Spectacular, spectacular on the big screen, but absolutely banal at the end. Screams, screams, fights, crashes, many rolled eyes and tests of strength are running out. Beautiful girl as the Lord of the Wind. But even here it sounds like this... What kind of superheroes are these – some diverse group of citizens who were supposedly not accepted into other organizations of superhumans? But personally, I really like to recreate all sorts of old myths and legends - they were here for five minutes, but still.
I wouldn’t be surprised if in a couple of years the second, third, and 23rd part will be released, but that’s without me. Not in the sense that I plan to die, but in the fact that I will not pay for it anymore. At home, I would absolutely fall asleep in the 40th minute, in the cinema such a trick did not pass, and slept the night before, anticipating a spectacular picture. Spectacles were plentiful, it became sick, there was no bread - that's the problem. Either I can’t understand this movie because of its age, or it fits perfectly into its comic book segment. Well, it’s cool when you have so much money (I’m talking about the Rock now) that you can shoot with your participation, anything, being a co-producer. I could have blown the tower, too, if I had such a scale: I would revel in my imaginary acting talent in Russian dramas! (it turned out to be a hint, but no).
Dessert for lovers of conspiracy, which with the advent of the covid turned into the main dish.
Remember, I told you about the win-win Hollywood formula “quality undressed – got into a big movie”?
Today we take the example of Sarah Shahi: an Iranian-Spanish woman with an American residence (her name is actually Aahoo Jahansouz, but Sarah is a little simpler) and her candid “Sex life”, after which I know her body even better than my own.
Having worked well in all 8 episodes, she not only left the project with the incredibly hot Australian boyfriend Adam Demos, but also with a role in the universe. DC, which makes you a star on a planetary scale.
And now she is fearlessly fighting against someone incomprehensible, shoulder to shoulder with Dwayne Johnson, whose path to DC took almost 30 years, because he had to act on a completely different “formula”.
Black Adam gives us everything we love.
The bad ones chase the good ones, the good ones have the artifact on kryptonite vibranium eternium, which is then captured by the bad ones-WB doesn't skimp on production design and CGI-everything flies, explodes and crumbles according to plan!
An expensive variation on the Indiana Jones theme in the sets of Lara Croft with Rock's invariably stone expression that doesn't depend on whether he urinates or pardons. You can’t do anything about it...
Two hours of brilliant, crispy, useless rubil for the “crown of dogs” (watch the movie), sucked out of DC fans already $ 370 million, which is worth looking only for the beautiful, aged like good cognac, seventy-year-old Pierce Brosnan in the tights of a superhero and the head of Rock, skillfully glued by WB specialists to the body of a subtilian (remember dead Captain America?).
Even that snatched...
It seems that the creators of the film, before starting to shoot this work, reviewed all superhero films, and did not understand anything.
Everything is bad in the film, absolutely, whatever aspect of the movie your mind is grabbing at, everything is passing. The actors' play is terrible, the editing there, the soundtrack - and he was at all? I have not heard so many stupid and uninteresting dialogues for a long time, the characters most of the time just throw vanliners at each other, while making the face of a person pressing on the toilet. By the way, apparently, the script was washed away in it, none of the actions of the main characters defies logic.
I thought the idiot society wanted to talk to Adam, quietly and peacefully, why did I think so? Well, probably because they said so themselves, and as a result, without any logic and motivation, they began to threaten him, to which Cobblestone Johnson throws another vanliner, and a meaningless wave of pixels begins. What was all this about and why? I still don't understand.
But the main "raspberry" respect, I give the arch of the boy, who in fact plays the main role in this movie, the rock here, on the dancer. When Adam at the beginning of the film incinerates people, breaks walls with them and puts grenades in his mouth, you start to think, maybe something interesting is waiting for me? But no, just a few minutes later, the aforementioned kid shows up, making idiots out of armed mercenaries, and he'll do it again and again. He's not afraid of crowds of thugs, because he's a hero, so Adam's not a hero, and he's a hero, you know, right? And also because it has scripted armor, and for some reason, the chief of command needs him alive - why? You won’t get the answer, so don’t worry.
Well, a separate mention is absolutely unmotivated hostility between feathered and black, I never understood that they did not share, like that Adam kills people, and winged does not? But by the time they met, Adamantius had only killed the convoy of mercenaries, who were the first to start firing at him out of everything they had. I don't understand.
But it is clear that the film is not worth any attention, and to spend time on it, personally I would not advise you, you will not lose anything, and especially not gain after watching this picture.
As a result: a hugely boring film, scripted impotence and budget, half of which, apparently, took Johnson.
Dwayne Johnson plays Dwayne Johnson. He has charisma, he can give great chemistry, but not in such roles as cool and powerful guys. You don't have to go far for an example. His mixkill in WWE is amazing, he always gives fast, colorful, juicy, fun and emotional promos.
But in the movies he seems to have nothing to play, he is given a stereotypical tough guy with a stone face for the whole film, so he goes. However, there were also cool moments, or rather, even funny ones. The way the Rock makes faces at some point is just potential memes.
I don't know the character at all, I've seen it in Injastis and a couple of short films. I have not read comics with him and I do not know what is there as well as with his background, I only know that he is the defender and keeper of Kondak.
Here the background is revealed and dramas are poured, and even some inner experiences of the hero, but somehow they begin so quickly and pass so quickly. Or I felt that way, I don’t know.
Black Adam is a funny character in this film, can joke, albeit crooked, from which the viewer can catch a light share of kringe, and maybe smile. The humour in the movie is funny and fits in. Have you learned?
What about the others? I liked the cyclone, dear girl, her powers and in general a very attractive actress are very well shown. Dr. Faith is great in every way, Pierce Brosnan is cool as ever.
Hawk? Well, he walks around, conflicts with Adam and that's all, some not-so-memorable character. Atom-crusher the same, he on Deadpool for some reason became like his mask, hz.
What's the plot? Well, I got it, we have a McGuffin that everybody's chasing, we have a Justice Society that rightly gets it from Adam himself and verbally from other characters. The film is not particularly rich in events, yes.
Mother and son... well, the mother is such a thing, and did not play the role of her suspension, on what she added then? I am. The son is funny, he has an interesting moment in terms of Easter. He's a geek, obsessed with superheroes and the league as a whole. He has a Shazam figure. He did not say that Adam and I are similar. Well, that's probably because the studio and Dwayne aren't keen on bringing the two together.
This is a completely separate film that does not aim at something super interesting and global. I would love to see where the story of this character goes. So I'm waiting for a sequel.
On the post-credits scene: Well, it's funny, I'm not thrilled as soon as the character that appeared there will be made canonical, maximally moving away from the version of Snyder, then we'll drink, but for now we are skeptically watching.
It’s finally time to watch this movie. One mention of Dwayne Johnson and I immediately sit down to watch the film in his performance, and also in the lead roles. I will say with confidence that the film itself is a work of art, did not let the caretaker down, really bright, colorful and simply stunning.
Warner has high hopes for a new hero named Black Adam. In the fight for justice, the hero will be able to cope with very important tasks. With the help of magic, he liberated Kandak from the slave owners. Adam always put his people first, so heroes and villains take advantage of this when they want to win him over. It would be interesting to watch the relationship of Adrianna’s son and the character of the Rock, but the boy in some episodes, especially in the dialogue with Adam, is made of a clown, probably for humor. But Adam is not far behind in this regard. Becoming more like the Terminator. Adam’s main opponent is the hawk. Of course, there is rarely an understanding between opponents, but it would still be worth trying, it is still very interesting how long the competition with each other will last. Eternal pursuit of each other arc after each other, of course, can cause a smile in the viewer.
Of the heroes I saw for the first time, I was most impressed by the Cyclone, who was more like a storm, so domineering and confident. The whole cast was also very impressed, it was interesting to watch each hero, to live with them you can say the same emotions. I was looking for a movie that would have two legends at once and finally found it. The duet of Black Adam and Superman is just something, it was just a pleasure to watch them.
In any case, the film left a good impression. I love these kinds of books and games, especially movies. So it was difficult for me to pass this project. The film is becoming more interesting every minute, the script is clearly worked out, everything is so well played that you yourself penetrate into it, into all emotions, feelings, you feel what the characters feel, you worry for them, for their fate, which awaits in the future. A worthy film of our time. I highly recommend it to fans of heroic fiction.
And so came the new film from the film company DC, like a fresh breath of air, which was waiting for fans. Starring the notorious Dwayne Asphalt Johnson and Pierce 007 Brosnan.
The story of our protagonist begins in Kandak, the birthplace of his family. Suffering from slavery, the residents want to free themselves, but they understand that this is impossible, especially without a people's leader. In the modern world, Kandak is still at the mercy of foreigners, waiting for his savior.
To be honest, when you see the film from DC, you expect a lot of action and mainly a dark palette of colors, and specifically in this film, dark colors were just enough, but the action was quite a lot (the scene in the mountain was exciting). In my opinion, there is too much inappropriate humor in the film, but the situation was corrected by Pierce Brosnan (Dr. Faith), a veteran who has experienced a lot, he does not strain to the upcoming battles and rather calmly assesses possible threats. An atypical role for former 007 agent, but Pierce Brosnan performed his role perfectly.
Perhaps the most useless character was the Crusher, played by Noah Santineo. His hero was more of a hindrance than a full-fledged defender of Earth. It’s worth noting that the Crusher costume was really cool, reminding Wade Wilson of the X-Men. Touching his superpowers, he looks a bit like an ant man. Crusher behaves sloppy and childish throughout the film and is not yet ready to engage in serious battles, as our hero learn and learn.
Overall, the film was clichéd. But today, he's giving DC a lot of help. First of all, the film itself is very spectacular, and is worth the money spent in the movie. Second, there was a pretty solid charismatic central character (Dwayne One Left Kills Johnson) and a few not disgusting secondarys. Thirdly, it carefully gives references to past and future projects. Fourth: against the background of cluttered marvel unnecessary projects, takes attention, giving a fresh look from the outside.
What's the movie about?
Scientist and freedom fighter Adrianna (Shahi) travels to an ancient tomb where she reads an ancient inscription and releases the ancient superhero Tet Adam (Johnson) to fight the enemies that threaten her and their common homeland of Kandaku. Adam’s power attracts the attention of the Justice Society, whose members want to pacify him.
Opinion
The DC Cinematic Universe has for almost a decade oscillated between the lightness of "Shazam!" and the gloom of "Batman v Superman" and in the film with Dwayne Johnson, the energetic Spaniard Jaume Collet-Siera offers a middle ground, mixing the tropes of a family movie with an antihero who kills people. The result was confused, but spectacular. I’ve been watching Jaume since House of Wax (2005) and I’m very happy that he’s been able to tie up with Liam Neeson (four films of varying quality) and move to the big blockbuster leagues. On the one hand, if it were not for Collet-Sierre, then my assessment could be safely divided into two, all the dynamics and all the beauty, like a littered horizon, this is him. On the other hand, he greatly abuses slow-mo, which makes Adam sometimes look like Zack Snyder’s films even more than the films themselves.
Here lies the contradiction: Johnson and the team want to set the heat and sprinkle tinnitus, but are afraid to alienate the family audience. Therefore, we get large-scale action scenes without civilian casualties, and the numerous murders committed by Adam look cartoonish or remain off-screen to fit the film into the 12+ rating and fill the multiplexes with excited teenagers.
Even though the kid inside of me really liked this movie, I don’t think I’ll ever watch it again, but I really want to see Black Adam v Superman and be directed by Jaume Collette-Sierre.

A black Adam who isn't even black. Why? After all, all 2 hours were called differently.
Another comic book movie I watched and forgot. You can also take a nap at the final battle. Personally, I took advantage of this opportunity. Another team of superheroes overseen by Amanda Waller. Another sacrifice by a white man to save a non-white man. What else is friendship for? Sorry about the spoiler, I won't do it again. At least I'll try. Thought... If you do not want to know the plot, then skip the next paragraph.
There. Chasing, slow motion, reference to Westerns, restless child, explosions, Bahi, Tarabahs, fervent rapper.
Ancient artifacts and ancient language.
Still a restless child.
Without a traitor or a double agent.
Flying supers, not flying ordinary people. Oh, no, there are some flying things, too. Hey, Skywalker. And flying because they are high and far away.
Guess who is being kidnapped?
Another superhero group out of nowhere. The main one wants to save everyone, even the occupiers, but he does not succeed, and it is necessary to save him.
Gulliver.
Order of Magicians.
The moral torment of the Rock as Black Adam. What did he dream about 5,000 years ago? Ilya Muromets and then slept less.
You know what kind of child it is. And the main villain is similar to Hallboy.
So here's the whole story. True, the sequence is a little broken. No one promised it would be easy. I forgot that for a moment they showed the mansion, which has an underground laboratory. Hey, Batman. And a flying ship flies out of it. There's so much flying. Hello there. What a post-credits scene with Superman. Somewhere there is one Batman crying, because he has gone from him to a stronger and richer one. What do you think? Black Adam now has a whole country in which he is loved and revered for 5,000 years.
And for humor here responsible scenes with murders and the collapse of other people's property. What a joke about not understanding sarcasm. Hello, Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory.
Now you are sitting and scratching your head, why then, with all the cons, the review is not red? It's simple. Because initially I didn’t have high expectations. If you want to watch a superhero movie with a lot of explosions and destruction. And with the Rock in the lead role, which is not even in the jungle (a reference to memes about his latest films). This movie is no worse than most comic books. However, there are still better and more interesting alternatives in the form of series. Pumped men, ambiguous heroes, superhero teams, references to other films, all the same is present in the Peacemaker and the Boys. If you still need Amanda Waller, then choose the first option. If the superhero is Ibma (flying and immortal), then the second. But in addition to them, you get black humor, vulgarity, mate, torn body parts. Well, you get it. Not everyone will like that. And then there's the underage audience. Therefore, the creation of the Black Adam is justified.
The review was completely subjective, provocative and in general the author immediately admitted that he slept through part of the film.
I got to the highly anticipated DC blockbuster. Honestly, I didn’t expect anything from this film at all, maybe that’s why ' Black Adam' I never got upset. But also, and never impressed. The rock kind of wanted to wear a superhero costume for a long time, I'm not even surprised that it's a serious guy in black. Because as Superman or Shazam, I can't even imagine him. But this is probably just because of his familiar image.
So, what's the fun of this movie? In that, unlike 'Man of Steel' this Adam himself is well too serious. This is, in my opinion, the main drawback of the film. You remember the hero Cavill in the blockbuster Snyder - well, he was in many scenes funny, somewhere funny, the authors added irony wherever possible, given the rather serious story. It wasn't a comedy at all. In 'Adam' tried, very tightly so, to do the same, but as in the case of 'League', it turns out for some reason very clumsy.
I don’t know what the problem is with these DC movies. They really after the Marvel heroes can not even repeat what they managed ' The Avengers'. Even if the central character is very cool and charismatic, there must be some awkward supers around him or ordinary people who supposedly can fight alongside him! Even for a teenage audience, this is strange. Egyptian ' god' flying through the rocks and in an instant incinerating lightning helicopters and tanks, allows you to be in the midst of battles next to a teenager with a mother (??)
Well, it's not 'Spider-Man' Compounds the situation and the plot. A big and harsh man in a black suit is engaged exclusively in levitation and shooting lightning from his hands. Adam’s brief background seems to be good, there are no special questions. But as soon as the next clowns in suits with Dr. Faith appear, the whole story turns into an awkward cartoon. Where there are no real injuries to the characters, nor any noticeable damage to the crumbling buildings from their blows. That is, a snout for the sake of muzzle.
It's technically beautiful. Although it is clear that such an abundance of special effects instantly gives the essence of all shooting against the screens. That makes everything seem toy and fake. There is no sympathy for the heroes. Glavgad is so banal and boring that I do not even want to mention, the finale is incredibly boring and predictable. It was a very good start, though. The Rock is as serious as the writer and director told him. For he has many former roles in which he could be funny even in action films and fiction.
It's so serious that you don't even believe it. This, by the way, is a great example of how quickly a too serious hero can get bored in such a frivolous setting. Flying men in costumes of birds and sparkling helmets, overgrown ala Ant-Man, and a rainbow young lady try to slightly shade ' anti-hero'. But man, the mood is always set by the central character. And the guy in black with this serious mine looks like a super-powered electric doodle. Which negates all its unique origins.
' Black Adam' good dynamics, here the action almost does not stop, there are no unnecessary snots and experiences. As an entertaining blockbuster comic book, it's good. Technically, everything here looks like all the 200 million invested in production. The rock as he could worked out the role in the framework in which he was pressed here. But if there were any John Cena in the role of Adam, in principle, much difference would not be noticed. The locations are beautiful, there are a lot of explosions, the picture is just very juicy, the sound is on the level. But this attraction reminded me of the latter 'Torah' yes 'Aquaman'. That is, a one-off product, unfortunately.
A huge budget, a bunch of well-chosen actors, a lot of graphics, a long production process, and a base of comics behind you, what could go wrong?
As it turned out, all or almost all, because the Warners again stepped on the rake of the Justice League.
The plot is in the best traditions of Disney cartoons: once a very long time ago in a distant kingdom of the state there was an evil king who was so evil that he was looking for a mineral. The mineral is not simple, but magical, if you make a crown of it, the demons from Hell will come out into our world. But there was a hero who went against the system and defeated the evil king... and people have been believing in it for 5,000 years. And all this is combined with the incineration of opponents to skeletons or tearing them apart.
The script of the film is so ragged that from scene to scene, it seems that the writer’s 8-year-old daughter sat down for writing the script (exactly for the first and last 30 minutes of the film).
The film is replete with both chic scenes and simply terrible, 80% of the film is shot on a green screen, and all the action takes place on Earth (to be more precise in the air). The desire to show a very very cool Adam clearly overshadowed someone's mind. The team of the Justice Society looks much more adequate and interesting than the main character himself, but does not get the proper screen time.
A good scene with claims to the team of heroes, they say where they were all these years, I would have the same question, it’s a pity ended in mid-word.
Simply put, the picture is good in itself, but in isolation from the action is too dim, and the semi-eastern entourage with a predominant yellow-brown color drives into despondency. The action itself is somewhere medium, somewhere excellent, wow does not cause, but also longing.
The strongest moment of the film is the cast, that’s where everything is in its place for me. I honestly liked the whole team of heroes, especially Faith and even the Eagle, the rest quite play out the green newcomers. Just like the ordinary people and the mother and the boy and her brother all coped perfectly. The rock was too much, but with him always, do not pay attention.
But where the rake came again is with the villain, most of the film is more normal, but the last 30 minutes is just some kind of game, and with terrible graphics. There was a feeling that the Steppe Wolf from Whedon’s version just ate Tom Yam.
Surprised by the lack of soundtrack, for a superhero blockbuster is an unforgivable mistake.
Tet Adam, more specifically Black Adam, is a great example of one star being given too much screen time in a team film. And the studio, focusing on the success of its other (and not so) films and TV series, begins to add little relevant references to them to the film.
Too dry and sterile, yes, without agenda, yes, something good, something bad, but 1 time because the film does not work. And after the local plot twists even 'Marta, why did you call that name?' it seems like a genius move.
The film was viewed in English in a 4dx cinema, and on the action scenes chatted no less than in the zone of turbulence in the plane.
'Black Adam' is one of the best projects of the DC Cinematic Universe! Dwayne Johnson, who, in addition to playing the main role, also acted as a producer, kept his word to the fans. The film turned out to be as vivid, as dynamic and as comic as possible. With a rather banal script and all the template of plot twists ' Black Adam' made the best impression on me thanks to his pitch, good humor and great action. The picture does not let the viewer get bored for a minute. The musical accompaniment fits very organically into the atmosphere of what is happening, and for visual effects I would give the film ' Oscar' I can't help but celebrate the successful casting. Pierce Brosnan, Sarah Shahi and Eldis Hodge successfully coped with their roles, and 'The Rock' Johnson was born to be his hero. I enjoyed the abundance of ' Easter ' and references. The film turned out to be the most fanatic and for this I say to all involved in the creation of this project ' thank you '
P.S. The scene after the credits brought me to a childish delight!

"Black Adam."
It was funny (at first), it was funny.
A new superhero movie about another superhero. Oops, the antihero. Another metahuman. So, Black Adam.
In the beginning there was a word, that is, well, a very, very long time ago, probably for as much as 2600 BC. What? But this is not the birth of the oldest kingdom. In Mesopotamia in the Proto-Written Period (from 2900 BC) there were already cities. A single kingdom in ancient Egypt was formed around 3000 BC.
In general, the Scorpio King was more right, if you understand.
But soon the fairy tale affects, but it is not soon done. It is an ancient country in the East. As it turns out, it is not the oldest. There was once a fierce tyrant in it, then overthrown by the Defender - a hero from the rebellious population. Thousands of years passed... In the center of the capital is an ancient statue of the hero-legend. And the countries themselves were occupied by some seemingly Western mercenaries (algeria since 1992 and especially Iraq and Afghanistan in recent times). But there is also the Resistance (bold and strong women, bearded fat men and teenagers included). And then, in the course of the battle, He awakens, the super-metahuman Adam. The hero of the world has long sunk into oblivion.
It's a very funny movie. All, you know, almost all the stamps of the genre there. It's very funny at first. And then he gets angry all the time.
A team of heroes of Justice is sent for the hero of old times (from the same office that rules and Suicide squads). Amanda Waller said take Adam and tie him up. He doesn't want to. The team got here... Oh, my God, this is gonna be even more beautiful. The Green Lantern League helped. One salvation is Pierce Brosnan, openly cosplaying Doctor Strange from a rival comic universe. Here's his character interesting. Unlike the armored beak wing with kefir morality.
The faispams followed one another. The stamps changed the stamps. Ancient and powerful creatures behaved like offended teenagers in a sandbox.
Paphos thundered with triumphant copper.
The author of this scenario is clearly unworthy even of the Golden Raspberry. This is a very high reward for him.
What's good is Adam himself. Because here the "Rock" gave 100%. And it's not his fault that the character he has this time is flat aki washboard.
There is one battle passage scene to the music... But in X-Men: Apocalypse, something like this was much cooler.
Stamps again. And a good sometimes action. and repeated more than once the joke about Superman.
The finale is striking in depth.
Anyway, a beer movie. Or if you tune in in advance to the fact that you are going to see a very funny and pathetic comedy. Then you can come in.
p.s. But there are other legends - 'ZAZ 968 M' and 'shaha'. Yay!
For many hundreds and even thousands of years, people have made themselves miserable, enslaving, enslaving their own kind, plunging them into the abyss of new authoritarianisms and totalitarianisms. It would seem – that’s what real superheroes have to fight, that’s where people who really need help are. But dystopian films in movies and films about fantastic people rarely intersect, so we can say quite boldly that the now revealed to the world "Black Adam" at the level of the idea is very original. However, to choose a successful idea and to reveal it well - still things are different, and with the second film in question coped controversially.
The choice of the theme of human unfreedom in Black Adam as the basic concept is quite obvious, as evidenced by a small prologue about millennia ago with its inevitable slavery, and the conditional “today” with its long-term occupation. This decision makes the fight for freedom almost uncontested, certainly understandable and logical goal of the film, which is reflected, again, in the past and in the present, the main character of which is a woman who devoted her life to resisting the hated occupiers. However, if there are no problems with the past in terms of goal-setting, then in the case of “now” everything is somewhat more complicated: our warrior is fighting not “for” the liberation of her native city, but “against” a certain gang, and such a statement of the question somewhat reduces the scale and pathos of what is happening, which does not benefit a large and expensive comic book. In addition, after the appearance of the title character in our time, the plot, instead of being brick by brick subtly and thoughtfully set up by an inspiring story of the desire for light, turns into a string of murdoba, whose connection with each other is based on honest word. The heroine, however, seems to completely forget about her goal even of a reduced social orientation, and in each subsequent scene seeks to achieve something insignificant, situationally arisen and does not serve the basic concept of this picture.
Surprisingly, with all the shortcomings of the plot as a whole, the creators of the picture managed to link the second most important question they formulated with the first one considered. Introducing a team of “traditional” superheroes into the plot and deliberately not calling Black Adam that way, the writers make an attempt to compare the terms “superhero” and “protector”, without putting an equal sign between them. Indeed, although the film largely discredits superheroes, it still shows their distinctive features, because a superhero is not a person with exceptional abilities, but a person who performs incredible, inspiring, socially approved actions, and superheroism is the embodiment of the personal beliefs of the individual, realized through action. Thus, the superhero, like nothing else, characterizes the moral attitudes according to which he lives and acts. The “defender” whose embodiment is supposed to be Black Adam, all this “noble husk” is useless, it is a man of action performing a specific mission – protection in this case – and differing either exclusively primitive morality, or lack thereof. But what does this have to do with free and unfree societies? Heroes as people who can lead, inspire, society needs, but only sufficiently mature, aware of such a need, and then the hero will help this society to change everything for the better. A non-free society that has been so for many years, as shown on the screen, can be characterized by slavish thinking – such people do not appreciate a superhero, they do not need inspiration, but a miracle. A miracle that in one fell swoop will change their entire lives, a miracle that will protect and protect, and will not force them to make independent decisions. That is, yes, the traditional lack of freedom of the defender is more than enough.
At the same time, it is impossible not to notice the approval of the filmmakers of the concept of a defender as opposed to superheroes. This approach seems terribly wrong and even dangerous. What is a defender really? It is only a weapon, an embodied function that can kill the dragon, but who will guarantee that he will not become a dragon himself or become a weapon in the hands of the next dragon, and then there will be no salvation or even hope for him. The scene with the throne in the finale of the film and the phrase of the heroine is more than eloquent in support of this idea, and the action of Black Adam is damn true, but in fact he does not change anything, since he is permanent. Hope for a miracle for a suffering society is understandable, the impossibility of personal struggle is also, but the miracle in a fiction film is not a happy ending. People are not protected from another fall into dictatorship by other people, no matter how good, just and powerful they may be (and in our case, there is no such thing), but by institutions. Black Adam doesn’t even attempt to build them. Thus, the film offers the viewer simple, but wrong solutions, and the road proposed by him definitely leads to a dead end.
Among other things, Black Adam is starkly lacking in detail. If there are no questions about the past plus or minus, then with the present everything is very simple and primitive. The occupation and the checkpoint mentioned in a nutshell are the clearest illustration of its shortcomings, and that is all. Of course, we can assume that all unfree societies suffer in the same way, but this assumption is too strong, and I would like to understand the essence of the world in which our heroes live and work, more deeply. I cannot but note the absolute inexplicability of a good half of the actions of all the characters, starting, say, with the primary running for an artifact, when even individual characters are interested in whether it is exactly necessary. Neither the heroine nor the film gives the answer to this question (or so explain that I managed to miss everything). Declared as the main universal evil and enemy of all living things, some gang does not even have time to become an antagonist, as someone else hastens to replace it, while the connection between the first and the second is not at all obvious, as well as the participation of the second in the first. This mess is marked by the complete absence of intelligible motives, at least something different from the usual capture of the world, also, incidentally, not formulated. As for the Black Adam, this "protector" after hibernation does not want anything at all and does not strive for anything, as a result of which he simply follows the moment.
So, our attention was presented with a rather mediocre and poorly worked out film with an outwardly spectacular, but incomprehensible main character, played with the expressiveness of the nickname of the actor who embodied it, which would also be bad if it were not a feature of this character. There are only a couple of things Black Adam can be praised for: the fights here are really spectacular, and the humor is sometimes funny. Oh, and a beautiful and pretentious soundtrack. Even if this is just a comic book, but I would like more: swing a ruble...
In the last couple of years in the DC Cinematic Universe is not clear what is happening. Snydervers is cancelled and films of dubious quality are introduced. Then the leadership changes and Snyderkat is released. Movies with Supergirl and Black Superman. Then again there are perturbations in the studio management and ' pot with porridge', starts to cook again. But that doesn’t make it clearer what’s going on in their movie universe. And in the fall of 2022, we are presented with the film ' Black Adam', led by Dwayne Johnson. For many years he sought the birth of this picture and finally it was presented to the world. For a long time it was not known to which universe this picture would belong. Will this be a continuation of Zack Snyder’s ideas? Or is this a new chapter in the movie universe? Or maybe this character will be included in the universe of Matt Reeves with his 'Batman'? In part, we received an answer to the question posed. But more on that later.
So, ' Black Adam' is one of the iconic DC comic book characters. He always appeared to us in gray. He was never a hero or a villain. He was more of an anti-hero with his worldview. More often in the comics he confronted 'Shazam' but in this film this parallel is not presented. We were shown the history of the formation of the character, through the prism of modern times.
The film begins with ancient times. About 5,000 years ago from the present. Pesonage Tet Adam was in slavery to the reigning king, who was trying to find a rare mineral - etherium. According to legend, if you bind a crown from this mineral, you can summon the great forces of evil and control the world. This is what the local king did. But at some point, everything changed and Tet Adam gained magical power from another ancient magic (the same magic that gave power to Shazam) and shifted the balance of power. That was to overthrow the local tyrant, or so it seemed to us. But later, at the beginning of the third act, the story acquires new colors, thereby the viewer begins to see the picture differently. It creates a kind of ‘Wow Effect’ and ‘Wow Effect’ that you wouldn’t expect in the film. But I will not focus on this, otherwise I will be accused of spoilers.
Next.
Noticing the presence in the modern world of a new personality in tights and with superpowers, Amanda Waller assembles a detachment ' Justice Society' consisting of Cartman Hall aka ' Hawkman' Kent Wilson aka ' Doctor Faith' Al Rothstein aka ' Smasher Atom' and a young genius - Maxine Henkel aka ' Cyclone'. They have to find out what this new force is and pacify it. In the course of various battles, they still unite in one team with Adam to participate in the battle with another evil represented in the picture.
The plot of the picture is not something new. Everything goes according to the same template of comic books. But the picture still leaves a couple of questions.
- What does the Justice Society' have to do with Amanda Waller?
- Why do you need 'Cyclone' and 'Atom Smasher'? In fact, they do nothing significant in the picture. In my opinion, they were introduced to stretch the timekeeping and to create at least some semblance of a team.
And the third question I asked above is, within what universe do events occur? And apparently we're going back to the Zack Snyder universe. There we see references to 'Justice League' and other minor characters in Zack's version.
Critics do not praise this picture, but the audience is very much even gone. Estimates on different portals are very different. My opinion is that the film is not a masterpiece, but you can kill an evening by eating delicious things. And it seems to me that in the near future we will see the continuation of Snydervers, even without the participation of the master. The DC Cinematic Universe is starting to rise from its knees.
So, Black Adam, they put him on, they waited for him, they showed him rollers, and he came out. And what do we see?
And we see that Black Adam still contains all the main drawbacks of comic book cinema.
The main problem is focusing on the children's audience, i.e. cliche, the hero behaves almost like a teenager, there is always a teenager talking nonsense, and a seemingly adult person (hero Adam) who listens to this teenager, remembers and repeats like a parrot. Where did they get this? Apparently in T.2, but there was a logical explanation. There was a robot and the child was tasked with making him look like a human, but Adam, a grown man who had a family, died. Adam constantly commits various crazy acts, which makes him look like a stubborn teenager during a period of bubbling hormones, but again - Adam, this is a grown man. Why did you prescribe such stupid behavior for him, you already have one teenager, why this high-aged second? Shouldn't he be an example for the squirrel?
Excessive color and a core palette like in a disco, this monstrous mixing of bright colors in wild concentration, which we can see on the ship, in fights, etc.
This film could have been made darker, and it only benefited from it, and as it seemed, it was presented in advertising. That scene from the paratrooper in the cave from the trailer. And then Rock Johnson begins with a gloomy face on serious jokes, listen to a teenager with his stupid advice and do anything in a crazy palette of flowers.
What prevented you from making a ship without all that unnecessary color music? Or don't make Adam an idiot who echoes a teenager. That wouldn't stop Adam from helping this teenager and trying to help the people of Carrots, of which he is a protector. The movie would look more mature and would be much more interesting. And what turned out is perceived in two ways, whether it is a children's movie a la with Hulk Hogan, then in some places something more serious - the feeling that the creators themselves have not decided on a niche and tried to sit on two chairs and missed.
The first half of the movie, frankly better. The second is very difficult, with perhaps the only successful scene when Adam was handed over to prison.
There was a very similar movie in Marvel about the X-Men, namely the series - X-Men: Apocalypse, which also has an antihero, and even locations of the East. But this film is perceived much more interesting and exciting.
