'The light doesn't turn right away' Yes, the light does not turn right away, wrote Valentin Rasputin, not in one fell swoop. Whence, he asked, from what supplies will the desired help come? And I would like to ask when, when did this change begin, because of which the warmth of the soul began to be replaced by calculation and adaptation, and participation and interest in the living soul of the human went away, leaving indifference and cooled hearts? After all, the hero Stanislav Lyubshin did not arise in an airless space, such were, are and will be. But why did this attitude to the neighbor come first?
By the way, you can complain about where the skill of making films like “The Word” went, the art of playing with one eye, like the main characters, writing such scripts, in the end. Has life changed that much? But let's put aside the usual grumbling. Fortunately, the picture is removed, and for history, although it is not immortal, but its existence has definitely prolonged. History is common - one person loved another to the point of unconsciousness, dissolved in him, gave all himself; the second did not know this, or rather, did not want to know, did not want to burden his existence with unnecessary thoughts. There was no love in his soul, there was comfort, because the second man dragged all the love on himself, serving him as his wife, servant, and pillow. Yes, the world did not turn upside down at once, but once the audacity of this convenient existence reached its climax, and Valentina (Marina Neyolova). When people open their eyes, tears roll from them. Pain, despair, mental impoverishment, anguish because of the efforts spent on nothingness, feelings and emotions are very heavy. And she commits her inglorious act, passing judgment on herself.
But it all went well, fortunately... And now, having avoided the punishment appointed by himself, Valya again closes her eyes and tries to shield her beloved by all means. She doesn't care about her own fate. She still loves this moral freak to this day.
Lawyer Irina (Galina Yatskin) is sincerely perplexed. She, as a professional (albeit young), can see the whole rotten essence of this “intellectual” and defenseless soul of Vali, which is why she cannot understand the position of the unfortunate girl. But surprises await her. As she delves deeper into their story, she discovers that there she is, true love, sacrificial and sometimes cruel. And is she like her fiancé (Oleg Yankovsky)? Torment and reflection cover her like a wave. In this difficult situation, Irina is preparing for defense, the quintessence of advocacy in criminal cases. And the defensive speech will be a watershed that will determine the fate of not only Vali, but also her.
Awesome movie. Minimum entertainment (although the camera work is wonderful), only a high-quality script, strong directing and convincing performance of artists. After such films, I want to think, dig into myself. Yes, Hollywood movies are more dynamic, brighter, they are more exciting, but I rarely want to think after them, this is, you know, the story.
The actors demonstrate aerobatics. Galina Yatskina plays a very young lawyer - only three years after graduating from the institute, which means that she received a lawyer status recently, and this is one of her first cases, if not the first. But what steadfastness, acumen, efficiency, which, at the same time, do not abolish humanity and compassion. Marina Neyolova is a surprise: thoroughbred, intelligent nature is the definition of an artist not to apply to her heroine - a slut, an ordinary hard worker. She does not have halftones: I love - so to the fullest, and the blood secretly from the beloved passes, and works tirelessly, and even the house thanks to her becomes cozy. Vitaly, the hero of Lyubshin, what a beast. And moreover, the most disgusting thing is that in appearance this is just an ordinary, worthless person, but with what aplomb! ... (all this testifies to the talent and professionalism of the actor, God give him health). I also liked Oleg Yankovsky as a groom. He is not indifferent to the life of his beloved, but Irina herself does not let him into her life, although, obviously, she expects some unusual manifestation of love from him. Such, probably, as Valya lived for many years in relation to Vitaly.
Thank you to all the creators. I recommend watching (although less and less now decide to get acquainted with Soviet films, especially, little-known...).
