When all the good monster movies and science fiction have already been seen, it remains to switch to the less well-known in the hope that you will dig up a diamond. Unfortunately, the film "Levifan" does not apply to them.
In the story, a group of people found themselves in a difficult situation without the ability to get help from outside. Suddenly, by the end of the shift, an emergency occurs and everyone is in danger. It's simple, no zest. After such films as “Alien” and “Something”, which, in fact, opened the way to films with monsters in a confined space, this film looks faded copy.
Everything could save the script and the acting, but with this trouble. There is no acting, and no, to bet on the fact that this is a film of the late 80s is stupid, since the talent of the actor does not depend on the year of the film.
Heroes are not revealed in any way, they have no history, their reactions to events just kill the reaction of the viewer himself, you can not worry about them, they do not catch anything.
Scenario moves are predictable, a lot of clichés, and the design of monsters causes only laughter (especially after "Alien"). The final does not even cause bewilderment, but simply despondency and a sense of foreignness, as if ketchup was added to ice cream.
Watching this movie is not worth it, it is only a waste of time.
3 out of 10
In the late 80s and early 90s, the theme of water and monsters lurking in it became unusually widespread and resulted in six films at once, one way or another in their plots playing the struggle of a man with unprecedented creatures.
“Deep-sea star six”, “Lords of the depths”, “Evil from the abyss”, “The Abyss”, “Deep-sea dive”, and “Leviathan” (having nothing to do with the project Zvyagintsev).
With the exception of The Abyss, none of them became a box office hit, although for example, the same “Deep Star Six” or “Leviathan” can be considered attractive.
At Leviathan, a group of miners are working to extract minerals from the ocean floor and their change has almost come to an end. Accidentally, they discover a sunken ship that they identify as Russian. The group later discovers it was flooded deliberately. Dragging to his station some things from the ship and in particular the logbook, the characters of the film are faced with an unknown infection that affects the members of the group one by one, turning them into creepy creatures.
The plot of Leviathan is painfully similar to the events played a few years earlier in John Carpenter's The Thing. An aggressive life form that takes possession of the human body, assimilates with it, but at the same time retains eerie forms (as well as a non-donka assimilated alien in "The Thing", on the body of which you can recognize the features of the faces of some characters). The creature can be in anyone, which automatically brings everyone under the circle of suspects and naturally people are alone with it in a limited space, because the elements do not allow them to escape.
In addition, “Leviathan” is repelled by another cult film – “Alien”, because the way of crawling out of the human body here painfully resembles a similar action performed by a gourdolam. And the theme of truncated spaces and monsters among people is also close to the project of Ridley Scott. In addition, some scenes seem to copy the episodes of “Alien”, such as the scene in one of the rooms where the miners go to the bottom: the characters of Peter Weller and Ernie Hudson go in and there hang metal chains, as well as in a similar scene with Harry Dean Stanton.
All of the above turns “Leviathan” into a secondary product that uses cool “Alien” and “Something” chips, but taking into account the placement of events in other conditions (not in space or north, but under the water column), it becomes possible to evaluate the actions of the characters of the film in relation to such a situation that automatically attracts attention. After all, what difference does it make where events occur, because first of all it is worth paying attention to how people try to survive.
"Leviathan" was directed by George Cosmatos, was very rich in famous actors involved here. And of course, in his new film were involved those with whom he worked previously. With Richard Cranna in Rambo, with Peter Weller in The Unknown Beast. In addition, Hector Elizondo (“Pretty Woman”, “Family for Rent”, “Old New Year”), Ernie Hudson (“Replacement”, “Ghostbusters 1, 2”, “Sharks”, “The Raven”, “Diary of a Basketball Player”), as well as Meg Foster and of course Daniel Stern, who does not need an introduction in principle.
Putting aside the secondary nature of the plot, Leviathan is a very good fantastic horror film with creepy, climaxing, and tragic moments. By the way, the history of the ship on which the experiments were conducted can be seen in the computer game Cold Fear, released a decade and a half after the release of Leviathan, so not only did the film itself borrow part of the plot, but also something was seized from him to create his own creation.
But look at you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
Alien, but at an underwater station. Some moments are simply rewritten from Alien, not literally, but in essence. Some special effects (animatronics and so on) are well done. You can see it if you like the genre. But mostly secondary.
The strange and faint realization of the beautiful and exciting idea of the Something.
'Leviathan' 1989, although it meets its years as a picture, special effects and scenery, but goes out because of its own plot and characters.
I would like to comment on some of the following:
The very 'something';
The relationship of characters to each other and this 'something' .
The design of the monster is repulsive and takes too much into itself from his ' older brother' film ' Something'. The concept of his being is not spelled out and is not disclosed (apparently, because they still watched ' Something' why again for them to repeat the already told conclusions?), and when you look at him, you think that the nickname Game would be very suitable for him.
Characters, as I understand it, ' Something' also watched and are not particularly surprised by Ditch. No, I'm not saying they don't fight him, they just have too stone faces. Like worrying about your friends. They don't take it too seriously. And most importantly, it is unclear - the actor did not play or the script did not allow?
From the positive, I could only note the action scenes and at least some story about the work on mining minerals on the ocean floor.
I wouldn’t recommend this movie, really.
This is a really embarrassing waste... The director or screenwriter twitched many elements from more successful films on a similar topic, and glued it all not very successfully. There are not the last actors, quite competent for their time, there are even model girls of unknown purpose at the drilling station. And not just ordinary nerds, but really sex bombs. And it all came down to something indistinct. In isolation from "Alien", "Something", "The Abyss" can this film and impress. But the imitator label won't get off him. You could have done something original though. Well, make an alien with motivation, somehow endowed with qualities, and not another all-devouring monster. You'd be surprised. And here is another angry and hungry creature of unknown origin.
This creature also has unstable characteristics. It infects from just drinking vodka, then even from direct touch leaves intact. A very illogical and ill-conceived film that deserved a smarter director, not afraid of experimentation. There's an outspoken passer. Well, at least some actors please the eyes, mostly girls. One of them is a shame.
So it's a pretty average movie, to say the least. Once you can see the fishless. I didn't get hooked at all, though. But I can’t call it a bad movie either. The usual old age of his time.
I was actually invested in this film, because it was recommended for the movie "Something", which I really liked. Therefore, despite 17% of the critics, I went to see this creation.
You know, there are films that get undeservedly low ratings from critics, like The Thing (1982, 2011). That's not the case with this movie. Here, low marks are well deserved. The film is bad.
The slogan promises me that I will experience real fear while watching. I watched the film at night, with headphones, with almost maximum volume. And somehow, to put it mildly, not scary. In the same “Alien” Ridley Scott solved the budget problem by the fact that the main monster was almost not shown, and the film only benefited from this. Yes, and the film was released 10 years earlier, and the budget was 2 times less. So what? “Alien” is a classic of the genre of space horrors and horrors in general. And “Leviathan” is one of those films that everyone forgets a month after the release, not to mention the long deadlines. So what is the film so bad?
The film is simply not interesting. For the first 40 minutes, nothing interesting happens. Uninteresting and cardboard characters talk, something is done there and blah blah blah blah. Then the heroes find a safe with things on a sunken Russian submarine. Then they bring it to their ship (or station - I have no idea what they have there), open it, find vodka and ... Really? Not only is this cliché "Russians = vodka" already in 1989, so drinking vodka, which you found on an abandoned submarine, which had some kind of infection, is not a good idea. And almost the entire crew drinks it, and only one crew member gets sick. How? What? Why? Why?
Well, there's a guy who gets an infection of unknown origin as a punishment for his stupidity. Maybe now the film will accelerate and will justify the word “horror” in the genre line? - No. All-consuming boredom and indifference to what is happening pass into the second half of the film, which, in theory, was supposed to arouse interest in the viewer, but causes only a desire to quickly end this creation and do more important things. The appearance of a monster does not save the state of affairs - the film until the very end causes only indifference and boredom. The only thing that is good here is the decorations. Everything.
Watching this movie is pointless. Sorry. It could be something interesting.
If in the subgenre of space horror, the world of “Alien” rules undividedly, then in the subgenre of deep-sea horrors, Cosmatos’ “Leviathan” is perhaps suitable for this role. With some reservations.
To be objective, the same degree of quality as Aliens, in underwater fiction was not done. And therefore "Leviathan" - well done among the sheep: in the film too many plot inconsistencies and "non-shooting" guns. Nevertheless, the film Cosmatos is distinguished by a number of pleasant details, because of which you do not regret the time spent.
Perhaps the main highlight of the film in this sense is the entourage. The scene is filled with details: on the one hand, they perfectly immerse us in the atmosphere of the 80s (from the “lamp” computer station to hairstyles and a funny Russian captain), on the other hand, they look like a designer from which you can sculpt your story if you want.
That's not a good story. One gets the feeling that it was cut godlessly already at the stage of filming, and the process was controlled by people who have the wrong idea that people should be afraid. It can be assumed that the producers of the film entrusted the task of adjusting the plot to some wacky marketers who are capable only of the copypaste method.
But design artists, no one touched, fortunately, and did not check for commercial loyalty. As a result, with a poor plot, we see a hearty entourage, even with some ironic kunshtyuks like phallos-like plants (in the thick of which the dearest Amanda Pace was expected to launch).
Total: a film for oldphages, able to forgive the authors crumpled plot for the entourage and visual bookmarks for amateurs.
But in general it is sad that Leviathan, with all its minuses, is the best work of the genre on the rest of the fishless category "B".
Honestly, I did not want to write a negative review for this film. Well, I love NF horror, even the worst of them. I love alien horror stories and genetic mutations. I’m ready to forgive any plot holes, but the film did everything possible to make me hate it.
To begin with, I suggest that although the action takes place on Earth, and the film itself was shot in 1988, we are talking about the near future. This is evidenced by the level of technical development of the “world” – it is not the eighties. The underwater station is more like a spacecraft in size and equipment. And the means of communication there will give a head start to modern ones. Therefore, the name of the Russian ship "Leviathan", as well as data on the ships of the Baltic fleet, which are freely available, should not be strained. By the way, the word “Soviet” was never uttered in the whole film, they constantly said “Russian”. Looking at the water, really.
Now for impressions. If you love movies like Paul Anderson’s Event Horizon, don’t get too picky about the details and just want to watch a relatively light horror movie with the company: don’t read the review any further. You will love the movie if you do not fall asleep in the first half hour.
What can be said immediately: the plot is sewn with white threads. First, I wanted to shoot about space. The underwater station is very similar to Nostromo, only if there were no problems with lighting. The entourage, by the way, is excellent: there are a lot of different parts, compartments, corners, and there is a feeling that all these things are needed for something. There is no snow-white sterility like in many NF movies. Then, God forbid, not accused of plagiarism, apparently, changed everything to an underwater station. By the way, without deciding on the place of action. At the beginning, the phrase “We are in the Baltic” was heard (the question of how an underwater American station could end up in the Baltic Sea and why deep-sea fish are so common), then that “not far from the state of Florida” (the question of how a Russian warship sailed there, drowned and remained there remains open).
The Alien resemblance can be traced, but only if we first watched the crew of Nostromo arrive for the cargo, load it, quarrel with each other and talk about what will be done on Earth. Then we would watch for a long time as they fit into stasis, as Ripley flirts with Dallas, and only a minute on the fortieth "Mother" would start to wake the crew. Seriously, for half an hour you're just watching the lives of totally uninteresting characters. Forty minutes in the movie nothing happens. The situation is relieved by Doc (the local version of Ash from Alien), the only more or less interesting character. Then brave submariners find Leviathan. (in general, it is foolish to call the film not by the name of the monster or in honor of the scene, but by the name of the point at which you got into the plot: as if the film Titanic was called “Iceberg”). They find a safe there, bring it on board, find a vodka, a cassette with Ukrainian pornography and three leather folders on which it is written in Russian “infected”. Despite Doc’s warning, he is told something like “You don’t speak Russian well,” and the safe is not thrown overboard from sin.
And finally, in the fiftieth minute of an hour and a half horror movie, the horror movie begins. Will the patience of the audience be rewarded? Here's the crap. First, it is unclear how the infection occurs. One became infected by drinking scorched vodka from a safe, another was bitten or scratched, another was eaten at all. If this stuff is so contagious, then all the waters of the world's oceans should have been poisoned, right? Remind me, Leviathan is just at the bottom. It does not drift in the boundless space, around it is not built a lead dome. He just drowned. The creature itself then cosplays Something from the film of the same name, then Alien, then in general horror class-B, like “Slug”. There are no halftones, no darkness, no music that is in normal horror movies. In addition, the heroes suffer from blindness and deafness. And idiotic. The doctor does not close the quarantine door when one of the crew members becomes infected with a terrible skin disease, the other character does not see a tentacle in the huge window, the third did not notice the torn leg of the creature.
There is also an evil corporation, there is even a “mother” who can think for herself, despite the fact that they do not influence the plot. A supercomputer will only appear once, and an impersonal corporation just... does nothing. Characters are good. The crew of Nostromo fell victim to the transplant corporation, which forced them to take on board the monster. The workers of the polar station in Something just saved the dog. At the end of the day, the crew in Event Horizon was just doing the job. The heroes of this film do their best to win the Darwin Prize. Do not close the doors, drag what got on board, do not get rid of contaminated things, drink alcohol of unknown origin, do not wear rubber gloves, do not isolate the infected, and also suffer from vision and hearing loss. And the movie continues and continues...
In the end, you can praise here only those responsible for the scenery: they are on top. And Richard Crenn, for playing Doc. There is no suspense, there are no frightening moments, the monster is not terrible, logic limps on all limbs, white threads stick out in all directions. Aliens thrilled you... The Fly shocked you... Now experience real fear ...” Don't make my shoes laugh, honestly.
Just as “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” “Friday the 13th” and “Halloween” revealed the fashion for youth slashers to the world, so the cult fiction “Alien” and “Something” brought certain adjustments to the genre of fantastic horror. And best of all, this is evident in the example of the tape of George P. Cosmatos, who, by the way, before Leviathan, shot another very noticeable film in the horror genre - The Unknown Creature about a killer rat. Immediately, the filmmaker turned to the topic of other monsters - those that lurk at the bottom of the sea.
Actually, the longer you progress on the plot of Leviathan, the more it seems that you are watching the above-mentioned masterpieces of fiction again, only in a different version. It can not be said that less high-quality, however, still do not reach the true "monsters" of the genre. The bundle here is like two drops of water similar to the classic Ridley Scott tape - several deep-sea drillers find a mysterious Russian ship called "Leviathan" at the bottom and become infected with some incomprehensible virus that begins to mutate in their body, changing their appearance beyond recognition. After finding out this, scientists realize that they can not fully trust each other, but still try to survive. As you can see, this story line migrated from Carpenter's tape.
And not only does this bring it together with the “Something” – there is also paranoid suicide, there are people who are placed in quarantine, there is a doctor who is not as simple as it may seem at first glance, and, in the end, there is the appearance of a monster that seems to be woven from many components of human bodies, and all this, combined with an animal-like head, is a very impressive sight. However, the same Rob Bottin turned out better - immediately in several moments the creators could not avoid the sins of special effects, but I want to praise them for using wonderful dolls and makeup, which give the tape a certain charm.
From the acting work very pleased Peter Weller (the famous "Robocop") - a regular of the genre of fiction of those years, Ernie Hudson (" Ghostbusters), Amanda Pace and Daniel Starn. Most pleased with the almost complete absence of stupidity and dubious plot twists - in this regard, the script firmly holds the brand.
But to decry the picture is due to the lack of atmosphere - the characters are at a depth of several thousand meters, alone in a closed space, alone with an unknown creature, but there is no tension and sense of anxiety here - on the contrary, it is in a good sense of the word an entertaining fantasy movie for the mass audience. There's not much blood here, but some things are very naturalistic and even repulsive, such as a huge worm attack on a team member.
Without a doubt, Leviathan is one of the most noticeable and successful pictures of the 80s on this topic. After all, it was a time when the genre of fiction did not lack attention and viewers of all ages were interested in unknown monsters lurking both in the cold of space and in the dark sea depths.

American submariners-rudocops under the command of a boring captain-geologist, constantly pressuring the team with sanctions, finalize the last days at a five-kilometer depth in the Atlantic Ocean. During another sortie at work, one of the mercenaries finds the sunken Russian ship Leviathan. Satisfied scuba divers drag a safe from the ship, where they find photos of Russian wives, classified documents on the Slavic mova, an onboard video magazine and ... an underdrink bottle of vodka. Wild sailors under the water first drink it. And in the morning, some who did not eat pick up completely wild symptoms. Obviously, the water was hot!
Italian director George Pan Cosmatos I, like many, know the cult action films with Stallone “Rambo 2” and “Cobra”. And here, therefore, found fiction in his performance in co-authorship with not the last screenwriters of the 80s David Peeples and Jeb Stewart, responsible for no less cult films “12 Monkeys”, “Blade Runner”, “Die Hard 1”, “Turgeon” and “Runner”, and favorite actors, including “robocop” Peter Weller, “dresser” Daniel Stern and “Colonel Troutman” Richard Krenna.
The late 80s - early 90s was a time of intestinal horror films about terrible monsters that terrorized the people in space, on land, and under water. And Leviathan comes from a growing wave of underwater achtungs, akin to the Philadelphia Experiment and Deep Sea Star 6. Later, the catalog of underwater horror was replenished with “The Abyss”, “Deep dive”, “Rise from the depths”, etc. Cosmatos' film is really a mix of Sean Cunningham's Star 6 and John Carpenter's The Thing, with complete isolation (submarine), some paranoia, nauseous mutations, slimy vomiting monsters and an atomic plot hinting at an anti-alcohol campaign. Like, Russian vodka is so hot that you can turn into an amphibian worm.
Something similar epidemic George shot before in the “Cassandra Pass”, and not to say that here he was far better. The carelessness of the fuckin' team just keeps going. Those who secretly drink all sorts of filth, who open their veins, and the rest strive, as soon as they roast, immediately disperse, so that they can be eaten sooner one by one. Although the irony of the authors is visible to the naked eye: in the film they are constantly sharpened (in translation, of course, much is lost), a bunch of naivetes pass the banter for the sake of it, and even Kosmatos’ signature punch in the face under the final is available (here this bearded stamp was especially rusty beat). They did not reveal, except that, the secret of the onboard doctor, who clearly had something to do with what was happening.
Cinema stars from the sky is not enough, but the uniqueness of the components is unrealistic. Now this movie is worth questioning from filmmakers. The failure of the mirror clone “Rise from the Depth”, “Virus”, sank the experienced genre, which now no one wants to touch.

After the success of such fantastic films as “Alien” and “The Thing”, many directors slept and watched them make a film with a similar concept and at the same time nothing worse than the paintings of Ridley Scott and John Carpenter. As a rule, such an adventure did not end with anything good and all that the talent of the grief directors was enough for was to give the next stillborn freak to the viewer for his vision. And today’s guest is another clone of The Thing. Well, let's cross our fingers for luck, because this is "Leviathan."
The plot of the story is more or less written in the abstract to the picture and I do not want to pour from empty to empty. And I want to tell the audience why the review of this film is painted in a bright scarlet color and why the picture is a waste of time. And yes, the main culprit of the celebration is a script that two people worked on. If only one person worked, I could understand it. After all, are there few in Hollywood who consider themselves genius writers? But when two people work on the script, besides not just people from the street, but masters of their craft, then you expect an appropriate level of performance from the film. Not that in the first fifty minutes of the film, almost nothing happens. Well, at the very beginning, the viewer is shown that the suit of one of the submariners almost exploded, but it would be interesting only if the idea of an exploding suit in the future would save the life of one of the characters. It's just a blank shot. And yes, the characters of the picture find the Russian ship “Leviathan”, on board which were carried out buggy-duck experiments. First, the virus is now this. Americans love us. But that's it. Nothing else happens in the movie. No, of course, towards the end of the picture, the slurred monster begins to kill the team members one by one, but this is a classic technique and nothing new here. So yes, the plot of the picture is boring, and most importantly, this film is not scary. He does not frighten either with his atmosphere, because this very atmosphere in the picture simply does not exist, nor with an idea, because if you think about what is happening, then all the inhabitants of the Atlantic Ocean have already picked up this infection and humanity is doomed, and therefore there is nothing to worry about.
Perhaps the actors will be able to please the audience? No, they can't, they won't. Because the actors consistently work out their fees, reading memorized phrases, while the characters of the picture cause a sharp sense of rejection. In other words, we have a smudge captain who doesn’t care about everything that’s out of his comfort zone, we have a doctor who looks at the world through the prism of cynicism and the Hippocratic oath is an empty sound for him, we have a guy who likes to joke with death and we have other actors whose characters are not worked out at all and all they are required to do is die in a strictly allotted moment. Beautiful.
What about the monster? Oh, and this is a find creature. Scientists tell us that the monster is capable of self-learning, for nothing, that it absorbs not only the blood, but also the brain of its victims. That is, the film tries to make us understand that we are dealing with a creature that is not stupider than Carpenter’s “Nest?” Then why does the marsh-judo, the lawless run around the ship and announce the whole district with its howls? Why is she acting so stupid and predictable? After all, if the “intelligent” scientists were “dumb” military, the creature would be packed in a bag for corpses in five minutes. Well, guys, that's not serious.
Summing up, I want to say that before us there is a film that could not understand its genre orientation. If it’s a fantastic horror movie, there’s too little fantastic and even less terrible. And if it is thrash, then a film of this genre should entertain the viewer, and not drive the latter into a state of lethargic sleep. Therefore, my advice to you, if you are looking for a good horror story, then look at “Sphere”, “Metamorphosis: Alien Factor”, “Deep Sea Star number six” or those films that I mentioned a little higher. This picture is a waste of time.
I came to this film through the recommendations of the Kinopoisk and was very surprised that I did not find out about it earlier. I was hooked by the description, interested in the reference to the Russian (given the times when it was filmed), and also read a couple of reviews, one of which definitely made me look at this creation.
In mythology, Leviathan is a sea monster mentioned in the Old Testament and sometimes identified with Satan. It is clear with what the director Kosmatos wanted to draw parallels in his original work. It describes all the charms of life for underwater miners, when a stupidly found unknown entity fits into their slender ranks.
Regarding the tape, very vital and understandable, along with which unpredictable and interesting film. As I agree with the above-mentioned review, all the personalities of the characters are really presented very succinctly and qualitatively - each character immediately reveals its pros and cons to one degree or another. Modern cinema can boast of this very rarely.
I have always been delighted by the extreme cruelty and existentiality, the indifference to critical situations in old science fiction films. It seems that the word “panic” actors are not familiar in principle. The equanimity of the main characters in relation to what is happening causes admiration and envy, although in their conditions this may be close to a normal reaction. Shock state, or people really did not find a way out for emotions in case the monster attacks a friend?
However, it seems to me quite irresponsible to remain negligent about anything that might be the latest discovery for humanity. Just in this comrades underwater miners made an extremely stupid big mistake, which, to put it mildly, will “harm” them all.
Of course, it was difficult for the heroes to take anything but a “thrash approach” in the course of events – they are scientists, not military. In fact, the whole climax of the film is a desperate attempt to resolve the situation and get out, using quite sophisticated means.
Bottom line: very cute and very high-quality for its time film about underwater horror stories. I advise everyone who does not like musi-pushi in horrors and who appreciates when the screen does not let go, keeping in suspense drive and intrigue.
Actor Peter "Robocop" Weller and director of the second "Rambo" and "Cobras" have already worked together on the horror film "Unknown Beast", which I really, really liked. Six years later, they met again to do horror. This time underwater.
I must say, this topic in 1989 was more than open - explored back and forth. There was "Evil from the Abyss," there was "The Abyss," and "Deep Sea Star Six" can also be remembered. So "Leviathan" nothing new to the viewer, in fact, did not show, just jerked ideas from several well-known horrors ("Alien", "Something", the same "Deep Sea Star Six") and very successfully linked them together. What is the resulting mixture?
I'm not going to squirm - I liked it. Good, atmospheric directing, more or less famous actors, good special effects - there is everything. There's no normal ending, but more on that. So, a group of underwater drillers looking for silver deposits find the remains of the Soviet ship Leviathan. As it became clear from the records, some suspicious experiments were carried out on the ship. When they got out of control, the crew decided to sink the ship. But the experimental virus did not go anywhere, moreover, it spread to a crew member who mutated into a creepy fish-like creature.
As you can see, nothing new, but catchy, and quite. Good actors were able to create albeit not brilliantly written, but quite alive in terms of character. And the entire cast succeeded, not only the most famous Weller, Crenna, Hudson and Stern. Local special effects are quite sane, there is not much blood, but the monster is made at the level, although I honestly did not really see it. In addition, the film has a very peculiar structure - it goes about an hour and a half, and the first hour of the audience is only prepared for what the monster will do. But do not jump to conclusions and say that the picture is drawn out - honestly, this most hourly introduction even in something spits the final half hour of action. Filmed, unfortunately, not very skillfully, plus spoiled grated and snatched from the "Deep Star Six" finale.
But otherwise, as you can see, “Leviathan” surpasses the tape of Sean Cunningham. There are more famous performers, a more interesting action and again a more interesting monster than the giant clam from "Deep Sea Star." But still the notorious finale hurtfully spoils the picture, not much, but only ...

"Only" because if you want, you could take a dozen.
