In general, the history of adaptations of computer games is complicated, because the viewer initially has an idea of what the main characters look like, what he does, in what world he lives. Here in the Hitman plan there is a clear idea that this is a hitman for 30 years, who removes his victims around the world in various sophisticated ways. And he rarely goes to open fire. But such a film can not be built, so the directors decided not to make a thriller, but an action movie.
The plot tells us how the 47th was framed by the customer of one murder. At the same time, the Russian police and Interpol started hunting him, and the main character tries to figure out what happened. Russia and I were pleased that the authors no longer slipped into cranberries and showed us our country as it is. Even Russian political intrigues can be believed. In general, I want to say about the advantages. Operating work, scenery, action scenes, different locations (Turkey, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Africa), costumes. It's a plus. Technically, it's hard to find fault with the movie. But the plot, the selection of actors, the very image of Agent 47 and his methods are minuses.
To begin with, the actor is not suitable for the role. Oliphant does not play badly, but his appearance does not suit this hero at all. Too sweet and young. Why added the heroine Kurylenko is also unclear. Hitman is generally unsociable for a second and simply cannot fall in love. The main complaint of the film is that there is too much shooting. Hitman does not shoot, but poisons, drops chandeliers on enemies, drowns in the bathroom. And our heroes put everyone right and left. Hitman's thing is to reincarnate, and for the entire film, he changes clothes once. It's stupid. If you have nothing to do in the evening, take a look.
The film adaptation of the game is a sore topic for Hollywood. How many attempts have been made to bring games to the big screen? A few dozen for sure. How many of them have been successful? You can count on the fingers of one hand. It would seem difficult to make a video game movie. But it turned out that this task is not for everyone. Only a few directors managed to achieve minor success in this field. One of them is Paul Anderson, who directed “Deathly Battle” and “Resident Evil”. And zero in general, we can say, the most unfortunate period for the adaptation of games. Almost all but three or four failed. The first attempt to transfer to the screens a series of games “Hitman” including.
Murderer 47 is considered the best in his field. But he becomes embroiled in political intrigue and is haunted by Interpol. The killer is trying to figure out who set him up.
Like I said, few people can make the game. Neither did Xavier Jans. The Hitman series is one of my favorites. So I waited a long time for it to be brought to the big screens. Technically, this is not so difficult. At least not more complicated than the film adaptation of “Prince of Persia” or “Warcraft”. But as it turned out, even this is difficult, given that there were already two attempts. In 2007 and 2015.
Even though I’m a fan of Agent 47, the movie didn’t make it to me. It’s one thing to play yourself, and to participate directly in the process, another thing to look at it from the outside. Plus, it is not a fact that the film will have an interesting fascinating plot. That's rare now. Moreover, they did not take the plot of any particular game as a basis, but invented cuts.
That's how good an action movie is. Quite a dynamic and cheerful kinzo. Lots of chases, shootouts. Probably even more than in the games themselves, the chip of which was in stealth. There's a lot of action here. Also in the film, it is unclear why, but included a love line.
The cast in the film picked up to say mildly not the most successful. I can understand when they can’t find an actor for the title role similar to the original game. For the most part, this is not required. But Hitman is just the case when one of the main features of the hero is his specific appearance. Finding an actor with the right type becomes doubly difficult, but possible. Timothy Oliphant is clearly not the best candidate for this role. It's a total miscast. Also in the film one of the main roles is played by Olga Kurylenko. Maybe she played well, that’s just why this character was even introduced into history, I do not understand.
One of the few advantages I can name well-staged action scenes, as well as camera work. Many of these things are no longer surprising, but it looks very impressive. Plus how it's all filmed. Operator Loren Bares has a lot of work in the cinema, but known to a wide range of viewers once or twice and overworked. But he did very well here.
I didn't like the movie. As a fighter, he is quite nothing, although the plot is delusional. Such films are stamped annually for several dozen pieces, and not even for the big screen. But as the adaptation of the game "Hitman" is simply talentless. Of course, the director Uwe Ball seriously spoiled his projects game adaptations, but without him enough delirium in this genre.

Hitman was trained as a highly professional assassin whose most powerful weapon is coolness and immense pride in his work. 47 is the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his head, as well as his only name.
Cinema adaptations of famous and cult films, it is partly thankless, although sometimes such films become hits Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Serena, Deathly Battle confirm this. But the film industry knows more negative examples of Super Mario, Lara Croft, Tron and others.
The difference between the game and the film is the main drawback of the film. The game Hitman is known for the fact that the hero must pass tasks silently, as covertly as possible, trying to be an undetected enemy. And this picture completely contradicts the spirit and style of the game, shootouts, races, fights with flights upside down do not make the picture attractive. And on the contrary, repel fans of the game and just viewers, who are quickly bored with an unkillable hero with a bar code on the back of the head.
The cast, another one of the film's problems. The main character does not pull the film, his unleavened face looks boring. The friend of the hero is dull, gray and to my surprise, not as beautiful as she was carefully described by the creators of the picture. The secondary composition is not remembered.
Musical accompaniment, special effects, combat scenes and others at an average level, although they correspond to their budget.

Poor bald killer whose name "47th" fell a hard share. I mean, of course, the film adaptation. In terms of games, everything was always great (except for "Contracts" , but they are remembered, at least, the gloomy atmosphere). Well, the film adaptation was not set in any way. Fans of the series treat them especially badly and this is not at all surprising. Here's why.
Hitman is the most silent killer on the planet. Using a noose, a syringe with poison and two pistols with silencers and the Agency's coat of arms, he eliminates various targets - drug lords, senators, businessmen, etc. The goal of the game is to make it as quiet and subtle as possible. In the first two games, freedom was not enough, but here in Contracts and Blood Money (especially) there were a lot of opportunities - poison the food, arrange an accident, put a mine under your feet and then enjoy panic among others, strangle the target in the toilet ... It was also possible to bribe witnesses, gently slip past video cameras and also gently crack locks. In general, the fun and complexity was enough.
"Absolution" has departed from these origins, for which it was criticized, but not by all, but only by true fans. In the rest, the schedule and the plot did their own.
In 2016, another game was released in the best traditions of Blood Money, for which it received mass approval and returned the bald killer status as the best. Unfortunately, this is not the case with movies.
The film was released a year after Blood Money. Many were waiting for him, many were hoping. And when it turned out that it turned out, these many were shrouded by righteous anger and the desire to hang selective hats to everyone involved in the film. Deservedly? All right.
In the Hitman games, there was the possibility of passing in the style of Commandos, when you shot everyone right and left, including the target. But... This style of passing promised huge difficulties because - the bullets ran out quickly, there were many enemies and they fired accurately, there were no first aid kits. As a result, this style could only roll at a low level of complexity. On the middle and high Hitman was shot with 5 shots and at the highest was enough and one.
That is why many were sure that the film about Hitman will retain the stealth tradition and the appropriate atmosphere. But... That wasn't it. Director Xavier Jeans showed all the fans a huge facade. Ordinary viewers were unhappy with others. What exactly is - ooh...
Like cranberries. Cranberries on Russian in American films are a frequent, sometimes funny, sometimes annoying phenomenon. In this case, it is too absurd.
The brother of the Russian president is a stubborn drug addict who sells weapons and drugs all over the world under the cover of his brother. Well, brother for brother, of course, it is taken as a basis ... Really?
Okay, let's say that ubermalachole idea. Let’s also leave alone the police and special forces of the Russian Federation, who in the film do not differ from their colleagues in the real world and whom our bald-haired Timothy Oliphant performs to dust (realism should be expressed in at least something).
But the shooting of an important building in terms of history and culture in the center of Peter ("Peter") was "Sophia" if anything. That is why the People’s Theatre Ivan Vazov, produced by helicopter, is already the height of absurdity. No higher! Well seriously, you can believe in the stupidity of the police (the Americans made their police a thousand times stupid), in the stupidity of the special forces, too. But it is very difficult to believe that someone in a helicopter will grind to dust a historically and culturally valuable building in the center of a densely populated city. Because it's stupid. And what chance is there that the bald man will hide somewhere in a secluded place and not be hit by bullets that have crazy scatter and low accuracy? Ah?
God knows. It doesn't matter. Another important thing is Oliphant-Hitman.
Oliphant's acting talent is good. But as Hitman, he... It doesn't look good. He doesn't have that look. There are no facial features that his game prototype had. And if he looked much more serious with his hair, then he was kind of bald. So the movie is different.
There is also Olga Kurylenko, whose character is not clear from where and why he came here. Usually, Hitman's games had no satellites (padre from Silent Killer and Diana does not count). And here she never fit in. And her interactions with Hitman ... are very awkward.
Dugray Scott played well, and so did Robert Nepper. The other actors played normally for a movie like this.
Now let's talk about the pluses - about action, for example. there is plenty of it and it is the most diverse. The shootings are at the highest level, the fights are chic, especially the one on swords. The explosions are qualitative, as well as the destruction, as well as a few graphics. Actually, the action is dragging the movie. For from Hitman there is only a jacket, tie and double pistol.
There are, of course, Easter eggs for games. Like a duckling. Very nice. But here's Easter with the game... Fire, gentlemen. It’s like in a Rambo movie, Rocky, or vice versa. Stupid. But what surprised and amused - a reference to "Saw". Ave, Cramer.
The plot of the film is good... For an action movie with Van Damme or Edkins. Of course, there were Russians in the games, but they weren't all part of the plot. And the cranberries whip over the edge, especially in the crooked names of special services and buildings and much more. That's not good for Hitman.
But the music is great. And the title composition Schubert, referring to the game - "Ave Maria" - very even in the theme.
Well, the logical conclusion is that the Hitman movie was a movie without Hitman. The bald killer was killed by the director and screenwriters, leaving only a shell in the form of a bald Oliphant. Everything else - even the switching chips - is wrong. This is not what the fans expected.
But personally, I didn’t get negative emotions from the film, and that’s why it’s all about expectations. I did not set the film too high expectations. It was clear from the trailer that Hitman would not be here.
But there is a strong and beautiful, cranberry action movie. Great action and a little timekeeping do their thing. You will not get bored here, but have fun - yes, especially if you are not a fan of games and you do not hate cranberries and clichés.
I hope that someday the bald killer N 47 will receive a film adaptation worthy of his talent. In the meantime, as the film adaptation of the eponymous series of games, the film gets 2 out of 10. And as an entertainment spectacle necessary after a hard day -
8 out of 10
P.S. Don’t judge this movie harshly. The movie is not about Hitman - it would demolish the roof.
And it does!
Let the expected canon of the legendary story about the no less legendary killer, whose name Agent 47 was changed to a completely different tone - more militant, the desire to please the fanbase, he can not take away. Of course, the important chips used in the original computer games have not disappeared. Yes, there is stealth, just the creators of the film decided to move away from it, and they are difficult to blame. Primary sources, for example, any part of Hitman, had flexibility in multivariance, you could go through a certain mission or any contract as the player himself wants: assault, stealth, sabotage, camouflage - traps, improvisation of accidents where there was no limitation at all - a real test of ingenuity in the player. You can pass the level without seeing half of the potential inherent in it, which is why the effect of repeated passages, the stimulus of research appeared.
The director of the tape was Xavier Jeans, the author of a terrible in a good sense thriller with a very bloody content Border. His Hitman, match the game cruel and brutal.
The movie begins with the song "Ave Maria", which appeared in "Hitman: Blood Money". And not immediately expect to see references in the game-screening in addition, Ave Maria sets the right tone, although not similar to the main action from Blood Money, but it atmospheric, sad and dramatic conveys the events shown on the screen. Well done, from the first seconds the director set an excellent emotional bar with philosophical overtones. After some time, we learn that we pay our killer agent for his executed contracts by transferring cash to his laptop, designed strictly for planning operations and other functions of interaction with the elimination system. It's just like games, even Diana is in place. Timothy Oliphant himself, almost perfect for the role of Agent 47, the only thing is that he is too smiling at times and human, but in the context of the film, this is not a minus. It's funny to see the protagonist want to understand women better and learn to communicate with them through magazines, and his gentlemanly habits deserve respect. Otherwise, the appropriate texture of the actor, tall and healthy physique - correspond, except that the eye color is not blue, and fine. Of course, in place and branded barcode — where without it. Suit and red tie, very canonical. Well, in fact, the movie is made with taste, the budget is small 24 million dollars, clearly visible. There is absolutely no hack.
The viewer is given to understand that Hitman is planning everything, he is a real tactician, prudent and leaving no traces, and if there is a danger, she will calmly pass by him, even if you have to make a little hype with a mountain of corpses.
The plot, like some games in the series, gives a good cranberry energy, where clones, government secrets, various military and other joys of life are mixed. Seriously, you don’t want to blame the movie for what was shown here, because you know where it comes from. And in this crazy world that never happens. Maybe with the atmosphere of mystery did not appreciate, but it has its advantages. All these funny inscriptions are perceived as having to be tender. Yes, there is even St. Petersburg from Hitman 2: Silent Assassin there is!
Sniper raids and at all, a separate sweetness. In one scene, Agent 47 is sitting in a pose and aiming with a sniper rifle as the official Hitman: Blood Money promo footage bequeathed. One to one. Screenwriter Skip Woods knew what he was doing, as did the director and the cameraman, all together, they wanted a credible fan. Among other things, timekeeping was found brand badge, ring coin to distract the enemy, and toy duck, you wait like something mandatory, and when it really appears, you just smile and rejoice that this is really possible. This approach will not say anything to those who have not played the game, but to those who have played and remember this, such trifles will seem sincere surprises used to the place.
Action is cool. There's a lot of it and it's dynamic. Special effects and pyrotechnics are cool, there is a lot of blood in the frame, sometimes dismembered. The shootings are spectacular, the use of classic pistols adds pluses to the picture. Fights are good, especially the inventive episode of squatting. It’s funny, some intelligence agencies are like enemies in Killzone, another video game series. The film is quite ironic, there is enough humor, especially its large share adds the heroine, whose role was performed by Olga Kurylenko. There is no Paphos at all, and it is like a breath of fresh air, despite the cruelty, the movie is extremely easy. The installation, of course, is dexterous, but at moments you can see the double Timothy Oliphant, but this is not a problem, it is clear that Oliphant performed many tricks himself and did, in addition to a satisfactory facial expression, also really brutal. As my friend pointed out, he would play Kratosa. Kratos is a character in another series of brutal video games (God of War). It would seem that Hitman Oliphant showed a lot of references, such thoughts slip as you watch, but no - here he harasses, hides the body, sedates, uses a stranglehold and changes into someone else's clothes. The right Hitman, well, almost. And seriously, you can throw out all these conventions about correctness.
The visual series is unique, purple-black, stand out and unsterile, like some modern action films. I think the movie will find its new audience. The 2007 Hitman is a soulful and hard-working project that respects roots. One of the best examples of game adaptation.
I am not a fan of the Hitman series. I know its basic postulates, I, as they say, “chased the bald” in Contracts, in Blood Money, in Absolution (which even went to the end), but still the franchise could not hook me. Therefore, I will consider the film from a slightly more objective point of view than the fans of the series.
So, the plot takes us to Russia, where Agent 47 has a rather high-profile case - the murder of President Belikov, which he successfully carries out. After that, the nameless killer is betrayed by his own Agency and drawn into political intrigues, where the FSB, Interpol, and hell knows who else are involved. And 47th (Timothy Oliphant) will have to understand all this, along the way protecting the local "girl in trouble" in the form Olga Kurylenko. It is worth noting that the plot of the film is oversaturated with gaffes and just stupidities, big and small, but to a greater extent the situation is saved by the picture and action.
It is really impossible to find fault with these components. The film boasts a great production, really good camera work, some shots look insanely stylish and cool. Action is also pleasing - everything is dynamic and spectacular with again a beautiful production.
Result: "Hitman" to some extent uncanonical in relation to the original source, in its plot really a lot of blunders and inaccuracies, but for some reason I do not want to scold the film at all. “Hitman” looks easy and in order to pass the evening is certainly good.

Screening computer games is difficult, so it is quite rare to see such films. The hum of the failure of the film adaptation of the cult game Doom was also heard, as the producers rushed to announce a new project, and this time the game Hitman was taken for development. I do not belong to gamers, I have never even played this so-called “stealth action”, but I also know that Hitman or Agent 47 is a hitman of the highest category, being a genetically modified person, he is subject to what ordinary Homo sapiens can not cope with, so they send a bald killer, written off from the external face of actor David Bateson, who voiced in all parts of the game Hitman, to the most difficult task. The player controls the character, over and over again faced with seemingly intractable tasks, but diligence and patience lead to the fact that the character takes over all who stand in his way. It is also worth noting that Hitman is a character who has switched to the side of good, that is, killing all sorts of mafia bosses, terrorist leaders, and so on and so forth.
Our distributors-adapters even managed to call the film “Sat sau ji wong” (1998) with Jet Lee in the title role is “Hitman”, as the main character is a former assassin, but now he ruthlessly fights with criminal tycoons. But, of course, this film had no direct relation to the computer series of games. But “Hitman”, released in 2007, is just a direct adaptation of the game. And one could hope that this time the film will not repeat the failure that followed the release of the fantastic action movie “Doom”. Such thoughts were facilitated by the fact that Skip Woods was appointed the main screenwriter. In 1998, he wrote, directed and produced Bloody Thursday, now considered a cult film. Three years later, Skip Woods was already working on the script and co-produced the action thriller Password Swordfish & #34. All in all, only two works, but the quality of them said that Woods is capable of a lot. And if the screenwriter was dealt with, then the director - French Xavier Jeans - was known only for the horror film "Border", which left an ambiguous trail.
And the actors taken on the main roles in Hitman were somewhat surprised. If Olga Kurylenko, the performer of the main female role, still went anywhere, then the choice for the role of Agent 47 Timothy Oliphant surprised. Even the shaved naked, dressed in a strict business suit, with his exceptional lack of words, the actor still made him doubt the correctness of the choice. It is not that Oliphant did not try, although he himself admitted that he agreed to this role to pay for the house, which became a financial burden for him after the cancellation of the series “Deadwood”. He is a professional, so you need to work even in those projects that have become forced. Oliphant looked good in fights, held a good weapon in his hands, but, perhaps, this is all that Hitman could boast of in his performance. Fans of the game expected much more, but just more expected the average viewer, who wants to see a charismatic, brutal character, because the images where a bad boy leads him to a sense of “Stockholm syndrome” are enough on the screen, and I want, really want, something bigger, more powerful, more filled, more convincing and memorable. With this Oliphant experienced noticeable problems.
But even this could be closed eyes if you did not play Hitman, but the plot of the film adaptation, its weaknesses, inaccuracies, frankly failed episodes, can not ignore. In this case, all the hope placed on the talent of screenwriter Skip Woods fell apart before our eyes. Once again, the evil Yankees are haunted by Russia’s superiors, and some ubiquitous evil is hovering over the presidential cabinet. They invented some Belikov (who was disgustingly played by Ulrich Thomsen), related him to his younger brother Udre (a fairly common Slavic name, do you agree?), who turned out to be a dealer in weapons, drugs and people, put Hitman on them, made the FSB and the police narcissistic idiots, staged a massacre in the church - and this is all in one bottle. Olga Kurylenko, a Slav, could draw the attention of filmmakers to blatant inaccuracies, at least say that Udre is generally idiocy, but, apparently, her word has no authority. Or she doesn't care. Perhaps, of the entire cast, only Dugray Scott and Michael Offey deserve positive words, given that Oliphant and Kurylenko do not deserve any special words at all, and all the others only negative ones.
So it turned out that “Hitman” repeated the path of his brother called “Doom”, earning mostly negative criticism and multiple reproaches from fans of the game, although he collected almost $ 100 million at the world box office, but the creators should be grateful only because of the loud title of the film. Only a couple of actors, and well-staged action scenes save the picture from complete failure.

And the magnificent name "Munyagrad" on one of the signs - what is it?
Views. As always, Russia in the eyes of Western filmmakers is a backward country with only criminal elements on the street. I can't tell if they're showing it that way, that they want to hurt our feelings, or if they actually see it that way. I hope that the first option will be correct, because it is not possible to look at it calmly. Some incomprehensible names and signs, the uniform at that time even the police and the military simply killed.
Screening games is the idea of the film industry. And if now the filmmakers were allowed, then in zero every second game was either filmed or was in the plans of adaptation. For the most part, these films kicked everyone, both critics and viewers. And Hitman - the adaptation of the eponymous series of games can not boast of success in this area.
Hell with him that the film is not according to the canon of the game series, now no one wants to literally transfer the plot of the game to the screen (although it would seem the easiest option). Even in isolation from all this fan moaning, the film is an uninteresting B-class action movie that weathers out of your head the next day.
According to the plot, Hitman, a genetically modified killer, receives an order to kill Russian President Mikhail Belikov, of course he fulfills this order, but soon it turns out that Hitman was framed, the president of a live-live, and the hunt for the bald 47th has now begun. But our hero is not so simple and he decides to find out who set him up and take revenge. This is such a simple story.
To be honest, I can hardly find the positive qualities of this film. Nothing comes to mind. Here are the negatives in bulk. Actors. Timothy Oliphant is basically like Hitman, schematically. Bald? Bald. Is the tie red? Red. Okay, great, let's move on. Olga Kurylenko. If you think that the girl in the film is only needed to flaunt her bare breasts, then you will like the role of Olga. Otherwise, a completely unnecessary character, without which it was quite possible to do. Two CIA officers, one of whom is African-American, secretly follow the suspect at the train station. Not right away. Or maybe the president of Russia and his brother, who is involved in all the deadly sins. He also sells drugs and girls. There's not enough nuclear warhead behind the sofa for the full picture. This is the company. All the characters of the film are rather inexpressive and with a high degree of probability drive the viewer to sleep.
The action, which in theory should cheer up the dozed viewer, here is the same as the whole film is gray and nondescript. The only thing left in mind is an epic scene with a helicopter and a temple from the end of the ribbon. This scene lasts for half a minute. In general, if you were hoping for a brainless action movie, then there is also a miss.
The only thing the movie remembers is the music. The melodies are dynamic and very suited to the dynamics of the film. Wait, I’ve heard them somewhere before. Right. Bourne. They were playing Bourne's music. Take the defendant away, it is a complete failure.
Hitman didn't please either. For fans of the game, the film is too wayward, and for fans of action movies too boring. In general, sir. Come back in 2015 for a retake.
Hitman. The film is very, very controversial. For the average viewer, this is an unremarkable action movie of medium quality. For a fan of the original game series, this is a real failure. And for the Russian audience... However, only the lazy did not write about it. And the reason is simple - the film was shot in Bulgaria, not in Russia, from there and so many blunders.
However, let’s leave the incorrect image of Russia in the film on the conscience of the filmmakers. Wouldn’t it be better to see the movie?
Scenario
The script is as simple as three pennies. A professional hitman known as the 47th ("Timothy Oliphant") is hired to assassinate Russian President Mikhail Belikov ("Ulrich Thomsen"). When the terms of the contract suddenly change - the murder must be committed in public - 47 begins to doubt, but nevertheless accepts the terms of the contract and commits murder. The customer insists on the murder of the witness - Niki Voronina ("Olga Kurylenko"), but the 47th in time understands that they are trying to frame and eliminate him. After that, the FSB and Interpol begin to chase the 47th, and he himself tries to find out the truth, at the same time taking Nick with him on the run.
For the average viewer, this is an unremarkable, typical Hollywood plot. Fans of the game are outraged that the 47th in the film is presented not as a silent killer, as he was in the game, but as an ordinary killer. By the way, it is worth noting that in the film 47 himself says that he prefers to work quietly, and therefore such contracts usually prefer not to engage. In addition, the game is canonical only that the 47th does not eliminate unnecessary people and not ' glows ' and rating ' silent killer ' you can get even if you use the same sniper rifle. But that's true, by the way.
In the movie, 47, of course, lit up. But again, it is worth noting that in the plot this is quite justified, so such episodes can be tolerated.
There are only three episodes:
1) Sword fighting. Seriously, what was that?
2) Line with Nika. Yeah, it's not an episode, it's a whole storyline. It doesn’t fit into the original series. It doesn’t even fit into the movie in any way. It doesn’t match up with 47 at all. It is worth noting that the scenes with Nika and 47 seriously spoil the impression of this killer.
(3) SPOILER Shooting a church. And I didn't mention this episode because I'm a believer or anything like that. It just looks like it was added just to be. It is absolutely logical, does not carry in this absolutely no sense, and simply does not need. END OF SPOILER
And I note this as a viewer and as a fan of the original series.
Characters
47th. The 47th is not a clone, but an orphan. Since childhood, he is a member of 'Organization' which made children professional assassins (by the way, I thought, or at the beginning of the film used footage from the series 'Dark Angel'?). Adult 47 is a master of his craft, a professional killer who prefers to work quietly, but who, nevertheless, is able to act in a situation where he has to participate in a shootout against several enemies. Which is logical - ' The organization' taught this. Compared to its game prototype, the 47th in the film is more emotional, although this is a consequence of the aforementioned line with Nika Voronina. It’s also worth noting that the 47th in the original series wasn’t an emotional professional either. More than once it was shown that the 47th may well feel emotions, although he prefers to hide it, that he has doubts about his activities, that he can be friendly, although this also usually hides.
Mikhail Belikov / double Belikov. The goal of the 47th and the main antagonist of the film. Quite a cardboard character. Alas, although the whole fuss begins because of Belikov, by the end of the film, his fate is simply not interesting to the viewer - this character is so poorly spelled out that there is no point in disclosing it in the review.
Nika Voronin. Russian prostitute, Belikov's mistress. The worst thing in the movie. Of course, the actress is pretty and everything, but in the film she needs a maximum of one or two scenes, everything else is complete nonsense. In the development of the script of the film, she practically does not participate, or even simply interferes, then she does what she aches and constantly tries to undress before the 47th. The point? Except to show the actress naked. Thank you, of course, but in this case can offer her to star in a film of some other genre, more suitable for such purposes?
The rest of the characters. They are present in the plot, but practically do not participate in it. Yes, the script is written so badly.
Output
Film ' Hitman' - mediocre action movie, standing at the level of films class ' B'. Reasons? Badly spelled characters (except for the 47th, the image of which spoils ...), absolutely unnecessary love line (... yes, that is what spoils the image of the protagonist, a love line that is simply not needed for the good in such a film) and stupid episodes added to the film for the tick (they are useless in the plot plan and look stupid).
P.S. You know what's funny? In the new film, 'Hitman: Agent 47', the disadvantages of the first film not only did not get rid of – they were elevated to absolute. The positive aspects of the first film were reduced to a minimum. Now think, is this movie that bad?
Hitman Bulgarian edition or adventures of the bald in Munigrad
This masterpiece of the world film industry is based on the cult for many series of games.
Unfortunately, or maybe not quite, movies made on games are of very dubious quality and the source of them includes only the name of the main character and the title, whether it is Tomb Raider or masterpieces from Uwe Ball Far Cry or BloodRayne or today's hero Hitman. In fairness, it is worth noting that the games on films also come out mainly for a tick and have not particularly interesting gameplay.
The plot of the film tells the story of a killer sent to St. Petersburg to kill the President of the Russian Federation with a very Russian surname Belikoff, who walks the entire film in the summer in a brown coat with a fur fox collar. But something goes wrong and the hero is framed. The president also has a brother with a typical Russian name, Ugra, who works as a gypsy baron and provides services ranging from women of light demeanor to arms sales. Moreover, Ugra does not understand the weapons that he sells, he holds the M4 in his hands and calls the M 203 rifle, although this is the name of the grenade launcher attached to the American M4, which he holds in his hands.
Russia, shown in the film, has little to do with reality except that sometimes there are domestic cars. But it doesn't snow this time, which is odd. Without knowing it, the filmmakers filmed two games at the same time St. Petersburg SOBR going to storm the number with Hitman is very similar to the soldiers of the Helgan army from the game Killzone is exclusive to the PS platform.
Separately, it is worth saying about the form of employees of various services and the interior of the premises: except for the Khelgan SOBRA from the hotel, all the others are dressed ridiculously and strangely especially special forces and Generals with diamonds on epaulettes in the final scene in the temple. Also, the soldiers at the theater have not quite Slavic appearance. The interior of the office F for some reason C written mirror looks like the 30s of the last century clothes and uniforms too, the only thing relatively new is Computers but in comparison with the office of Interpol and they look nothing new. And FSB officers still drive on the old 24 Volga.
Residents of St. Petersburg will find a lot of new things for themselves (for example, “Ivan Vazov’s People’s Theater” and the Kiev Railway Station of Moscow is also located in St. Petersburg and is the central railway station and that there are mountains near the city.
The action in the film is average for the action movie nothing outstanding: at the beginning, Hitman for some reason kills SOBR and then quietly runs away from the hotel although he is a silent killer and could immediately escape without killing anyone.
As a result: we have an average one-time action movie with stereotypical Russia shot in Bulgaria with inscriptions in Bulgarian Poshta, Munyagrad, Orzhye, etc. For fans of the series of games about Agent 47, the film is an absolute disappointment and it is better not to start watching. Everyone else can calmly watch to see how foreign filmmakers still see us. On the other hand, in many of our films, Russia looks even worse.

It's kind of sad for Americans with cultural studies. This is probably the case when it is very difficult to come up with something new in this way, but the inventive Yankees in their subtle perception of the truly Russian spirit surpassed themselves, forcing the FSB-shnikov to rattle from a helicopter on the dome of an Orthodox church in the hope of killing a criminal, and all Moscow and St. Petersburg “comrades” to wear Ushanki regardless of the season and travel around in cars of the Gorky Automobile Plant. Stereotypes, of course, a stubborn thing, and director Xavier Jeans, quite likely, could still launch bears into the streets if the means and the script allowed.
The film based on the popular computer stealth action suffers not only through the cliche of plot drawings, but also outright blunders, such as the “land border of Russia with Turkey” or the twisted letter “C” on the bulletproof vests of the Federal Security Service fighters. The whole course of events reeks of cranberry and improbability, not to mention the monstrous accent of Russian President Belikoff, Federal Chief Marklov, Russian policeman, etc. The main character - elegant and unflappable agent 47 - can easily put a platoon of special forces, merge with the crowd despite the defiant tattoo in the form of a barcode on the bald head, suddenly pull out a pair of machetes from his underpants and slice shaven-headed detractors along and across, but these are all small things, without which any militant would undoubtedly lose half of his elegance. The plot finally cracks at the seams when Hitman manages to cross the notorious “land border”, being the most wanted terrorist in the country. The general illogicality of events is complemented by the strained relations between the “bad” FSB officers and the “good” Interpol inspector, but this is a separate story.
The main problem with the filmmakers is that they have never played Hitman. It’s a mysterious feeling when you try your best to sneak across a dark corridor, and then quietly sneak up behind the guard and throw a noose around his neck, hide a corpse and, undetected, then make your way through unlightened rooms in search of an ordered victim... Always remember that the longer you are incognito, the more bonuses you will earn, and God forbid harming civilians. The director takes a different path, making another clone of James Bond from a secret assassin, and from an atmospheric stealth action game a classic action movie with a sentimental flor. Agent 47 performed by Timothy Oliphant looks quite flat and cardboard, and his girlfriend is a pretty Russian prostitute Nick is suitable only for entourage. In general, the film adaptation of "Hitman" greatly missed with creativity, and the condescending viewer has nothing to do but laugh at the numerous absurdities and admire the elastic hips of Olga Kurylenko.
I am a huge fan of the Hitman series. To say that this game is a masterpiece is to say nothing. When I found out about the film, I quickly rushed to look it up on the Internet, I was eager to see it. I had hoped that the film would be as worthy as the series of games, but alas...
It wasn’t even 15 minutes before I saw Russian culture. Harsh, cold Russia, people dressed in Brezhnev’s time, unshakeable Russian police in the costumes of “Ala Bruce Wayne” led by the fat and grumpy Captain Gudnaev. For the full picture, only a drunken bear with a balalaika, in a hat - an ushank, sitting on a nuclear warhead in the center of Red Square is missing. The abundance of “cranberries” in this film, to put it mildly, is off the scale. The days of the Red Heat are long gone. If it looked funny and ironic, in our time it looks terribly stupid.
What's the plot? The usual second-rate action, such a lot, I watched and forgot. For once it is quite good, but this film is clearly not for the collection – to revise his desire will not arise.
Well, in order to somehow dilute this barrel of tar, Timothy Oliphant will act as a spoonful of honey. For me, he played well, outwardly he fits the image of the 47th. Yes, a little sweet, but it's small.
Also, good action scenes. Everything is sustained in the spirit of the good old Hitman, but too bloody, not too professional for a silent killer, but the viewer likes it.
As a big fan of the series, I made small concessions, but still my review will be in red.
To be honest, I have serious doubts about this film. I have always treated video game adaptations very restrainedly, because they do not always make worthy original game representatives. But this movie, like Max Payne, I was waiting for. And after watching the film for the third time and could not decide on his attitude to the widescreen display of the adventures of Agent 47.
But to begin with, “Hitman” (Hitman, 2007) turned out to be a very good action movie, if we abstract from that pile of absurdities and frankly moronic punctures regarding the image of the mysterious Russian side. If you remember the last "Die Hard", the film may seem very worthy. But everything in order.
The plot of the film is not bad, but another image of the Russian political force as solid corrupt politicians and bastards is frankly infuriating. Power in Russia through the eyes of Americans is a substance that has mixed dirty politicians, military/security structures, and organized crime. The Russian president has a personal whore in the film, and his brother is an arms dealer who is a “bone in the throat for the CIA and the FSB”! If there were no criminal elements in politics in Russia, then in Ukraine everything is the opposite (here they would shoot about it). Is it okay that the legitimate president of Ukraine is a former convict?
Next, better. Russia itself is portrayed as a kind of “banana republic”, a country of savages, having much more in common with the African Niger (in which the action begins) than with the thoroughly civilized America. Do the Americans seriously think that we still wear hats-ushankas (the form of state security amused), and besides, in the summer? Signs in Bulgarian, by the way, were especially infuriated, as was the funny acronym of the FSB on officers' uniforms or the cool epaulettes of "captain of the police." Oh yes, I forgot to mention the land border with Turkey.
Well, at least flattered us incredibly well-equipped OMON (or Alpha - damn them) - the police and army special forces in the film looked like they were characters of some futuristic video game.
The movie has its advantages. First of all, it is a hurricane action, connecting Africa, Russia, England, America and Turkey. The action rushes forward inexorably, like a high-speed train, leaving behind only a mountain of corpses killed by the main character. Shootings, chases, explosions, hand-to-hand and blatant meat grinders of four “hitmans” on the train – all this is incredibly impressive, although it goes against my beloved game, which involves “silent killing”. But... The Hitman here is not Silent Assasin. But the sight that was seen delivered.
There was no nudity here. Although to come up with hints of a romantic storyline, the main character definitely should not, because the game we know that 47 lives only his work. Although, the nudity of Olga Kurylenko was also very pleased.
I didn't like her game at all. The actress from Kurylenko is no, this is already a well-known fact. Timothy Oliphant in the role of Hitman looked quite tolerable (but only visually), but, in my opinion, Rife Fiennes to the image of the 47th would be much better, including texture, and would play an order of magnitude better. Dougray Scott with his faded play also did not stand out from the acting team, but Robert Nepper was unexpectedly impressed. His image of the head of the Leningrad Federal Security Service Yuri Markov is a worthy image, in general, negative (according to the actor’s approach to him and the plans of the Americans – are there good Russians?), but the only memorable character.
It is a pity that once they started to shoot about Russia, they could not bring the story to mind. The action is on a level, the actors play tolerantly, but there was not a single scene in Russia where the creators did not make mistakes. And that's unfortunate. The only plus is the aforementioned gebashnik Yuri Markov. They had to learn from the creators of Borniana, who made Bourne Supremacy a film as native to Russian people as Brother 2.
"Hitman" is a faint adaptation of a posh game, disgustingly unrealistic, but when viewed purely as another tooth-crushing action movie is very tolerable.

p.s. The soundtrack was obviously borrowed from Bourne, but at least slightly changed.
This film was probably not scolded only lazy, the film is not without drawbacks, there are a lot of them, at the same time there were positive moments, but still I think the picture turned out very weak, if as an independent film it is still possible to get some positive emotions from watching, then if you compare this work with the game, then you get the sky and the earth.
The beginning of the film attracted me quite strongly, the formation of Hitman was shown very well, the music was selected very cool, in general it is worth noting the musical accompaniment in the film, I believe that Jeff Zanelli did a good job, the music in the film is one of the bright spots of this project.
Timothy Oliphant, at first I liked in this image, the aggressive look, cruelty and the way he killed looked good, but the further I watched him, the more and more he pushed me away, too made of him a good-natured hero who did not become the Hitman I was waiting for, I will not say that I am a special fan of this game, but something I knew about the famous killer, in the game Hitman was not the way that Timothy Oliphan portrayed him, he greatly overplayed, regretted many people that in principle for Hitman, I will not say it, and I will not repeat it very much.
Russia in the film is shown more less, usually the Americans put us in a black light, everything was quite normal here, well, compared with the latest American films about Russia.
Olga Kurylenko, I liked her most, and not because of her appearance, but because of her acting, the prostitute touched me much more than the famous assassin, she revealed her character quite well, although the role of Hitman as I see it was much easier.
I think all the arguments that turned out and what the fans of Hitman will not say, I believe that Hitman turned out to be very weak, and I don’t think that it is necessary to shoot a sequel, I expected another film.
5 out of 10
Of course, I can understand why this movie didn’t appeal to most viewers, and I certainly understand that my opinion will not be popular, but I still consider it one of the best works based on computer games. And here it is very important to distinguish between the concepts of "screening" - the most accurate reproduction and "film based on" - only the general similarity of ideas.
The Hitman series, for all its popularity, I never really liked it, and precisely because of its main virtue – I am not a fan of stealth. The exception was the last part, “Absolution”, which was already criticized by fans of the rest of the series. The exception was due to the stunning style and aesthetics combined with the ability to act rudely.
Probably the main drawback of the film for fans of the game is the lack of stealth, mission development, secretive actions – in general, everything that I do not like games. The only serious flaw is the actor. Timothy Oliphant plays great, but Agent 47 doesn't look very similar in appearance and it's annoying at first. Yes, you can still find fault with all sorts of trifles like an inadequate history or blunders related to Russian reality, but in this case, these are just small things. After all, the missions of the original series were far from reality, too.
I will give an estimate in the end in three points: the picture, references to the game and ... the plot. First of all, I liked the image, which is why I watched more than the first ten minutes, to be quite honest, because initially neither the ratings nor the general opinion about the film for anything else had. Filmed very stylish, beautiful, aesthetically and rigidly. I highly recommend watching the unrated version, if you still decide to watch, here the difference is really important.
The plot, despite its surrealism, is very bold, interesting and, in general, quite adequately implements the Russian style. In any case, it should not be taken seriously, but as a lubricant for a beautiful action, I have no complaints about it. Finally, the moments of dressing up or putting corpses in a container, which are references to the actions of 47 in the game, were pleasant. In principle, this film can be called film adaptations of how I passed “Hitman: Absolution” and therefore, to give it a low rating in my case would be just strange.

In 2004, I started playing Hitman: Born to Kill. Silent Assassin, I couldn’t get away from the computer. This toy almost immediately became my favorite. And six months later, I went through the brilliant Hitman: Contracts, which only added to my love for the game. Only later, after these two parts of the game were passed along and across, it became known about the filming based on the game. Now I can only remember with pleasant nostalgia how I was waiting for the premiere of this film.
"But it didn't work out, it didn't grow up," as the song goes. But the impression was that the film is not based on the game “Hitman”, and about another Jason Bourne. Well, really, in the film there is not at least a small fraction of the atmosphere inherent in the game.
Initially, the role of Agent 47 was planned to be played on the screen by Vin Diesel. And this also gave rise to optimistic thoughts. But there is no luck: the role of the killer was played by Timothy Oliphant, and Diesel was limited only to the duties of executive producer. And in that, I saw a huge omission. I’ve only seen two actors in the role of 47, either Vin Diesel or Jason Stetham. Just them and no one else. Both are in excellent physical shape, both (unlike Oliphant) have shaved head only to face. By type, only these two could successfully fit into the image. That Diesel, that Stetham are constantly playing in their films cool guys with unflappable facial expressions. That's exactly what was required. But apparently not fate. Oliphant may be a good actor, but in the role of Hitman he looks at least unconvincing.
As for the script, there is nothing to be happy about. It was flat and uninteresting. All these political intrigues are so boring and uninteresting. We have seen this hundreds of times in other movies. In addition, the presence of Kurylenko is absolutely unreasonable (the funny thing is that a little later she will play a similar role in the equally disastrous Max Payne). Ukrainian, no doubt, beautiful, but Hitman is primarily associated with a cold-blooded loner, and here the writers gave him a partner. For “full happiness” it was not enough to fall in love with her.
And when you begin to realize that nothing good will come of the film, you involuntarily try to find something good here. If you try very hard, it turns out in episodes. Firstly, there are several worthy martial arts (although this component was somehow coped with), and secondly, the action was transferred to Russia, which is quite logical, since in the game itself a large number of missions is here. And thirdly, good news for erotomists, as in the film Olga Kurylenko flaunts naked much more often than the situation requires. But it is necessary to attract the viewer with something, and I repeat again - the actress looks really great. But all these (very doubtful) positive moments are collected bit by bit, and this is unbearably small for the whole film.
You could have done a good soundtrack or something. The game sounds great music (especially want to highlight the musical design of the second part of the game, the recording of which was directly involved Budapest Symphony Orchestra consisting of 110 musicians). In the game, the music is literally fascinating, charming. It is immediately clear that in the game this component was approached with all seriousness and responsibility. And in the movie... The music is not heard in the film.
In the end, Hitman is a movie too meaningless and ridiculous to be taken too seriously. But for some reason, there is a sense of frank disappointment, because I, as a fierce fan of the game, am doubly offended. And you, dear fans of the game?
3.5 out of 10
for several successful fighting scenes and separately for Kurylenko.
Love a decent movie!
I don’t understand why people don’t like this movie. Yes, there is a certain amount of naivety, delirium, etc., but for entertaining movies it even goes in favor, if served in moderation. By the way, I am a fan of this game.
For me, this is a masterpiece, definitely!! Here are a few arguments:
1. Non-stop action. From the beginning to the end, a continuous series of events. Showed all the murders that could be done, sniper, poisoning, strangulation, explosions and even was a stupid meat mess. All sorts of disguises. And the train fight? Did the camera shake? Yes, such films in our time on the fingers of the locksmith can be counted.
2. Divine soundtrack, takes the soul in the right scenes. Jeff Zanelli – Master, great respect for him.
3. Secondary characters are designed for all 100. Even Boris Belikov, who had only 2 minutes of screen time, left no questions. And the Interpol investigator is incredibly interesting to watch. And Robert Nepper? It’s a great thing you don’t do.
Screenwriters and directors have a low bow.
4. The plot for the movie is more than convincing. Even better than expected. Appropriate humor, competent ending. It's not like another Bond movie. And that's good. The fact that stupidly did not take and did not transfer the plot from the game is also beneficial. I don't see anything wrong with that. Personally, I wouldn’t be interested in seeing what I’ve already done in the game again.
5. The main roles, Timothy Oliphant and Olga Kurylenko – played matchless. A very original love line is shown. Much better than in the first part of the game. I think this is Olga’s best role yet. She can play a whore.
PS. The first time I saw a movie when I was a student. I was impressed. As a result, I still watch it in the evening. Cool movie!
From viewing the picture, ambivalent feelings are formed. On the one hand, the picture has many disagreements with the original stereotype of the legendary clone 47. Yes, he moved away from his ideals, allowing to succumb to external emotions to take over and go on the inclined personality. But to all this, it turned out to be kind of an action, that is, an action movie. On the other hand, the film has a branching plot, "drama" - gives the picture missing "warm" emotions. Olya Kurylenko perfectly fit into the plot, she complemented the positive side of 47.
If you imagine the picture without the participation of drama and leave 47 cold-blooded, a vigilante, a murderer. That movie just goes from being a movie to a movie to a game. I am not going to condemn the plot, I am sure that the film in the same direction as the game would have come out much worse.
To me, he kept his cold feelings and his cruelty. Just added a lovely girl, which “a little” shattered its originality. If you compare the picture with many successful action fighters, who have positive ratings more negative, I would prefer this film.
I believe that the plot for the film, equal to the plot in the game - a big mistake. The film was well built and I liked it.
I finally saw this movie. Well, what can I say? The film is not bad – real action, in all formats of Hollywood. There are shootings, and blood, and the main silent hero, and a prostitute who fell in love with him, and the romance of the life of a hired killer. Oh, I'm sorry, I think I forgot to mention initially that this movie is not bad for middle school students who have never played a silent bald killer clone series. This film is as good as an ordinary action movie about a tough guy, who are already full of cockroaches - and all are immortal.
But it is worth remembering that this film was based on the game of the same name, which is considered one of the highest quality. But if you take this film, written off from computer monitors – it’s complete nonsense. And if it went to the fact that the creators decided to take as a basis the famous hero, then this film cannot be evaluated as an independent one - it must be evaluated, drawing parallels with the game. In this case, we can safely say that the film completely failed.
Already in the first twenty minutes I saw a lot of minuses. The creators, apparently, have no idea about the beauty of this game and this character - Agent 47. Most likely, they just heard that there is such a game about a hit man, and that it is very appreciated. We looked at a couple of posters to accurately create his appearance on the screen. And probably on this and calmed down, thinking that he will crumble all right and left.
Let someone try to argue to me, they say, why convey everything with accuracy - the creators just wanted to give a different image to the killer. Then I will tell you: if the creators want to remove any thrash, let them remove without touching the name or appearance of 47. With the same success it was possible to give him a completely left-handed name and shave the hero baldly would not be necessary - then no one would even close in thoughts would not allow any similarity with the game and the film would have earned its fans. But no, leaving the name and appearance of the 47th (which, by the way, is the only thing that has to do with the game, not counting contact with Diana - the coordinator of the agency), they just offended the feelings of fans for their monetary gain.
The real Agent 47 is always calm, there are absolutely no emotions on his face and in his soul too. He thinks carefully about eliminating his goals and commits murders sharply, quickly and most importantly, silently. Here 47 shows emotions, sometimes even gets angry at something and jumps like a ninja. I'm not talking about his martial arts possessions. Of course, 47 is incredibly strong, agile and fast, knows how to fight. But here he's just giving a master class and giving a head start to any Bruce Lee. The creators have overdone it. It's how he eliminates his targets by making a real bloodbath, like Schwarzenegger in Commando. No, it's not a killer, but rather some psychopath. A truly successful killer with his methods of working in the cinema was shown Leon. That's how Agent 47 works! That's how it should have been filmed. Quiet, quick murder. As stated in the fifth part of the game Hitman: Absolution - "This work is not for a hammer, but for a scalpel". I think you understand the meaning of that phrase. Well, even if you decided to change something radically, but the working methods of 47 should not change at all.
47 never leaves any witnesses or anyone who saw him in the face. Where did his nobility on this ground suddenly come from in the film - it is not at all clear.
However, the creators still adopted something else from the game, for example, a gun hidden in a drain tank or disguised as a police officer. But all this pales in comparison with the madness that we see on the screen.
Agent 47, Mr. Careful. How could the police and the FSB figure out his whereabouts so quickly, given that he leaves no trace at all? In the end, he just gave up and was released. This is no longer the gate!
And, oh my God, again!!! Again, these Russian standards are American eyes! The Russians were bastards again. And that look again. It’s time to know a little about our culture. Hire a normal consultant from Russia. In extreme cases, you had a Slav there, Olga Kurylenko, who could at least point to mistakes in the image of Russian people.
There's another moment. Of course, I understand that we have a rather popular phrase "Only in Russia..." Indeed, we are such an unpredictable people. And what we can do (in most cases by drinking) – no one will repeat this anywhere else. But here, even the Russians will not attack the church in a helicopter, trying to kill the killer.
Well, we've sorted out the directing and the script. Now let's play the actors. Timothy Oliphant as a bald killer. In some places he worked on the image well. Especially his gait - like 47. But the problem is that Timothy’s looks don’t match 47’s. Timothy's facial expression is not cold enough and impenetrable enough. Here, with the choice of an actor for this role, you need to scratch your head. And even Stetham or Vin Diesel would hardly have been fit for the role. At 47, there is a zest to grab.
Olga Kurylenko in the image of Russian prostitute Niki. I don’t like Olga either outwardly or in the game. I think that says it all.
I didn’t even pay attention to it because I was impressed with the film. But the impressions were far from the most rosy... Never again take up with your scanty imagination for the adaptation of once well-thought-out and warmly accepted plots!

Those who have seen this film will understand the title of this review. There's a lot of her in the movie. What you can see in Russia is very different. Maybe the Americans are doing this on purpose. I’m not going to talk about head hats, vodka, two stripes on Gudnaev’s captain’s epaulettes and the like. All this is nonsense and has little to do with the film itself. It's all about the plot. In fact, the plot itself is leaky, unfinished, lame in places, in places completely not fitting with at least some hint of common sense. Although many film adaptations of games suffer from this. Just one "FarCry" is worth it.
Plot: It is clear that 47 is being framed, but what does any prostitute have to do with it? To some extent, this justifies the attempt to attribute to the main character any friend. Why would Belikoff (!) order himself? All right, business, money and stuff. The crooked in general ...
Acting is incredibly annoying. Fake, fake and stupid. Except for Oliphant himself. But his attempt to pull out all the flops of the film changes little. Of course, 47 of them didn’t come out. Combined with the most disgusting dubbing, which we always get after processing "Mosfilm" spoils the picture even more. Why does Olga Kurylenko duplicate a completely different actress? Well, there probably wasn't enough money. Although, imagine if the film was released together with Russian filmmakers, perhaps the cranberries would be less. But there would be an omnipresent Mr. Bekmambetov. And despite the fact that his work is criticized, “but he is on TV.”
By the way, the role of brother Belikov is completely unclear. What he does in the film is unclear. Another failure. All in all, the whole movie felt like it didn’t happen. I would rather believe in the existence of some comic book character than in this nonsense that has been on the screen for an hour and a half.
Only the cameraman's work and stylish pistols in the hands of the 47th please. Such shiny, compact, silent ...
Bottom line: it turned out crazy action with absolutely no plot. Watch strictly once and forget forever.
P.S. By the way, did anyone notice that Olga Kurylenko in several films in a row played only prostitutes? Examples include Hitman, Max Payne (in both films she is only "for furniture") and The Walls. By the way, the walls are not bad.
Hitman is perhaps the most difficult adaptation of the game. The fact is that the game was about a professional killer who never left evidence, had no feelings and always brought his work to the end. Translating all this into a film format is a very difficult task. The fans were afraid that the movie would be bad. Partly it happened, but, nevertheless, Hitman is a good adaptation of the game. Moreover, it is worth understanding that they tried to please both fans and ordinary viewers who have never seen the game. Let’s find out why it is worth or not to look at this picture.
The action takes place in our time. An unknown organization that cooperates with governments and rich people, picks up homeless children and places them in special camps, where children from a young age are trained to be killers. They are trained in weapons, martial arts and most importantly – not to be dependent on emotions. "Agents" are not even given names - everyone is simply tattooed on the back of their head as a bar code and given a number. It was in such an organization that the most dangerous, elusive and professional killer, number 47, grew up. On account of his many special operations, which he brilliantly performed. And one day he receives a new order - to remove the President of Russia. It would seem that for 47 it is simple. But something went wrong. All the intelligence services of Russia and Interpol, and even the agency itself, are starting to hunt for him. But the strangest thing is that he has a beautiful companion who awakens feelings in him. Together, they must find out the truth and most importantly survive.
The story does not contain any sharp turns of the plot, has many clichés of militants, and in general everything is clear in advance. This is a huge disadvantage, but still not the main thing. All the fans were afraid for how the action of the game, calm and reasonable, could be transferred to the film. The answer is no. No stealth, in the film there are always shootings, fights, chases, explosions. But, strangely enough, it all looks amazing. Shootings and fights are breathtaking and all this is very pleasant to watch. Watching the first-class action movie, fans can see pleasant references to the game - the protagonist has the same gait, disguises himself, throws a coin - all this is here. Yes, and ordinary viewers can look plenty at the non-stop and cool action.
In terms of action, everything is fine here. But one factor spoils the impression - the film was made by Americans. The film takes place in Russia. You know what I'm getting at? In the film, the sun shines, and all the police and soldiers wear Ushanka hats, there are incorrectly written signs - especially just killed the sign "Poshka" instead of "Mail". And all these little things ruin the impression. Just against the background of all this serious action movie, looks in some moments very stupid.
The acting is at a very good level. It is worth noting Timothy Oliphant, who played the protagonist. He managed to convey the essence of the game character - he likes to be silent, wears a suit with a red tie, walks the same gait. This is the most important thing for any fan. All the other actors played well too - they behave quite naturally. It is worth noting the music – there is “Ave Maria”, which was present in the games, and in the scenes of shootings, cheerful music plays, which gives the desired atmosphere.
Hitman is a good adaptation of a video game. There is a weak history, stupid mistakes on the signs that spoil the atmosphere, but there are really exciting shootouts, fights and chases. Of course, fans may not like it, as I wanted a better plot and more “professional” murders in the style of the game, and not a simple action movie. But still there are many references that make viewing pleasant, and the simple viewer will understand everything. So if you want to watch a lightweight, spectacular and exciting action movie, then Hitman is the perfect choice. For anyone who wants something more, it is better to just pass by.

What impression did I get from watching this work?
As a simple action movie without any special claims, the film is worth watching. Here and stereotyped Russians (on the display of Russian landscapes, etc. in the film did not pass, perhaps, only lazy), and quite decent shootouts, etc., etc.
But on the other hand – if the film is called “Hitman” and set in the game, it must have at least some connection with the source, and not only the appearance of the main character. That is, the authors of consciously assumed some responsibility to the players.
Although, knowing Hollywood productions based on famous literary works, I am not surprised by anything.
Timothy Oliphant played very well and in many ways thanks to him the film is worth watching. Yes, this is not Hitman from the game - these are claims against the writers. But Oliphant clearly did everything in his power so that the film was not at all, to put it mildly, unpretentious.
I didn't like Kurylenko. I may have tried something, but I honestly didn’t remember it. The role wasn't very clear. If you mentally remove her character, then nothing will change in the film.
There is nothing to say about the other characters. Something ran, said, but the writers definitely did not try to prescribe them. But it looked so familiar that even to mention it somehow do not want.
Conclusion: I recommend watching this film as a free interpretation of the image of Hitman, which has nothing to do with the game (apparently, the authors did not really try). Then before your eyes will appear a typical action movie, saturated with stereotypes about Russia.

Surprisingly, "Hitman" (in the Russian box office it is called "Hitman", but to write through "e" there are no forces) at all hit the Russian cinemas. In 2006, the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography - the main censorship committee in the country - did not want to give a rolling certificate to the comedy "Borat" ("Borat"), which is generally not evil and, if indeed, detracting from someone's pride, then exclusively from the United States. But the Hitman is trampling on us specifically. Russian President Mikhail Belikov moves around St. Petersburg almost without security. The brother of the president sells drugs, weapons and slaves; dresses in the style of “Rostov’s dad”: fur, gold, pistol. Ordinary policemen, which can be found on the streets of Peter, resemble dumplings in caps. The FSB officer clearly says: “We live here according to our own laws.” Russian men talk in the streets with Russian girls: “How many?” Bitch! All Russian girls are really engaged in prostitution, but behave sanctimoniously. Important for the plot of the muddle Nick (Olga Kirilenko), despite the rich professional experience, does not know how to swear in Russian and only switching to the language of Shakespeare and Byron squeezes: "Cocksucker!" Sero. Cool. Everywhere special forces in gas masks, as if escaped from Killzone. In the background, the inscription “Moscow” or a black and white photo of the cathedral in a gold frame (a color photo has not yet been brought to us), boxes “Caution!” or a scraped truck are usually visible. End of the world. The end of it. Russia.
Everything else I want to say about Hitman is also cultural. Basically, these are touches to the portrait of Agent-47 himself (Timothy Oliphant). He grew up in a training camp where he ran in hospital pajamas. It seems innocent: the 47th tries not to look at the naked female breasts, a sedative stabs the girl in bed. To the games of the Hitman series is sympathetic. He looks kindly at children-gamers, but he could even scoff.
And, yes, the main thing: the bar of quality for film adaptations remained at the same level. Over the past 15 years, almost no decent film has been shot based on the games - and "Hitman" with its cranberries, whores, stabbing at the Moscow railway station, drugs, crosses, the FSB, shooting architectural valuables from a helicopter and other promising pyrotechnics - so, "Hitman" is no exception.
Summary: As a feature film, "Hitman" is absolutely helpless. How is the cultural message incomprehensible: is all this cranberries for laughing or are they serious?

In the world there is an organization known as the Agency, which employs the most high-class killers in the world, who do not even have names, but only call signs by number. With one of these killers we are introduced to this tape. The man with the code name 47 receives an order to eliminate the President of Russia. The order is completed, but the killer does not receive money for it. Then it turns out that he was just a doppelganger, and the real president is still alive. The 47th becomes embroiled in political games, where he must complete the task and, if possible, stay alive, as the hero is hunted by the FSB, Interpol, and even his employers.
To be honest, I didn’t immediately understand why this movie caused me negative emotions from watching it. It seems that everything is fine - and the actors are selected talented - Timothy Oliphant, Dagray Scott, Ulrich Thomsen, Olga Kurylenko - and the scenes of the shootouts are stylish and graceful, and the musical accompaniment is pleasing, but something is wrong with this film. And then I realized.
What really ruined the movie was the story. He’s kind of template and stupid, the concept of the character does not coincide with the game at all, and the filmmakers are clearly not familiar with the culture of Russia and – most strangely – with the spelling. Shame. Although I am not from Russia, but it is a shame.
47 here is depicted by some soldier of luck in a suit, not an elite - a killer who is terrifying and whose existence has been repeatedly doubted. In my understanding, the actor who played the 47th should not be directly captured in the action in the film at all - only a shadow can flash, or there should be a shooting from the back, allowing you to see the familiar barcode, and nothing more. By the end of the movie, we’ll know our hero. Or, for example, if the film was shot in the style of “The Jackal” with Bruce Willis, he would already be able to reach a score clearly above average – there his actions are visible only to the viewer, and the rest of the characters do not even know what is happening. But, for some reason, the filmmakers bypassed this and it was a fatal mistake. Shame on writers and directors for working with such incompetent people!
As a conclusion, I will say that the film is recommended for one-time viewing, no more.
For a strong cast and good musical accompaniment
I was encouraged to watch this movie trailer for the new part of the game Hitman, which is called Absolution, which, by the way, comes out in the fall of 2012.
I have been a fan of this series since early years, and therefore I looked at almost every frame with special attention!
I think it’s no secret that the film adaptation of games is a real problem for gamers, since the ideas about shooting do not fall to the most suitable writers and directors who have no idea what they are doing. Hitman was no exception! The cheapness of this film was immediately visible from the first shots. Tattooing in hand is a complete absurdity and a far-fetched fact... and then I really wanted to start writing unflattering reviews about the director and screenwriter, due to the fact that the plot and script was sucked out of no one knows what, but I was really very impressed, his gait and “back view”, despite all the cuteness and pleasant appearance of Timothy, the back and back of the head really turned out! And I really enjoyed watching those rare moments of his movement and sights from the back.
In this film, the 47th is shown as a cute killer who fell in love a little and felt butterflies in his stomach, after meeting with a night butterfly, played by Olga Kurylenko. This moment, and everything that follows from it, is the writer’s biggest mistake. Everything was fine: and the imaginary St. Petersburg and this stupid uniform and these stereotypical people and even the Volga black with the “blue bucket”. But the most important thing is that the character of the 47th director and screenwriter was missed!
Hitman is a soulless killing machine, he disgusts absolutely everything human, you can see if you just play and delve into the game itself. If in the scene where Kurylenko is trying to seduce 47th, he grabbed his gun and shot her 10 times in the head and other parts of the body, then everything would be fine. But what I saw made me very sad.
Hitman rarely speaks (well, very rarely), he never smiles. For action fans, this is a pleasant pastime for exciting films. Interesting scenes in St. Petersburg, beautiful Audi A5, cute Olga Kurylenko.
I’ll put a 5 just because it’s pretty similar in shape, gait and back of the head, and I know it’s pretty hard to find the right person. I read somewhere that they wanted to shoot Vin Diesel. To me, this idea was absurd from the very beginning, which I just do not want to comment.
To show the character and inner world of 47, a large budget is not necessary at all. . .
It is difficult to evaluate films that, without enriching the cultural heritage of cinema, nevertheless give a great mood and relax.
He's an elusive hitman. His targets have no chance if the order is accepted. During one of the operations, something goes wrong and the killer is hunted. The first thing to do before you watch this movie is to know your expectations. You will not see here a thoughtful spy thriller, with a verified plot and deep characters. This is a real entertaining movie. Spectacular scenes of fights, adventurous chases and noisy shootouts, where only the main character remains alive - all here in place. Most of the events take place in Russia. And while in many scenes, the government and people of the country are shown with some irony, it doesn't interfere with viewing. The film of this genre does not require accuracy. With its main task - to entertain, the picture copes easily, with dexterity attracting to the screen.
This film can be ranked in the category of paintings that receive sharp criticism, but at the same time, give pleasure to those viewers who want to relax.
Another failure With all due respect to the game series, I didn’t want to watch “this” at all. But they did, anyway. However, I did not expect much, and I watched it not on the day of the premiere, because I heard negative reviews about “captive” Russia and other nonsense. Yes, if the main role was played by a more outstanding and suitable actor for this role, then I would go to the cinema without a doubt, even if it was a lousy film in all other respects, as it actually turned out. Now I will criticize the main character and his protege in the game. Oliphant is a handsome, rude, psychotic type with a childish evil face. This is what we could see in the video. But he didn't fail his "exam" at all, and in some ways he even looks like that bald "47" agent from the game. But he also failed to pass his exam for a positive assessment. It seems that many of the basic details of the game are present in the image of the 47th: the style of clothes, the constantly red tie, the favorite pair of “Silverballs” (by the way, why they do not appear in the title of the film, but some “Glocks” with silencers – for me a mystery) in crossed hands on the chest, a bar code on the bald back of the head, a weapon hidden in a toilet bowl barrel, a syringe with poison, even a similar gait with a computer character. But why is there no brand name? The same goes for murders and their style. It seems that everything is beautifully quietly doing: here he put “poison” in a glass, the victim drinks, she becomes ill, and she goes to the toilet, followed by our hero, where the guard carefully passes and quietly wets the victim in the toilet. But immediately pulls out a gun, shouts for help, security breaks in and he brutally kills everyone. The scene when he kills the president’s brother from all the cool fighters of the 90s of the last century in the style of “Die Hard” or “Terminator” paired with “The Matrix”. Or the scene of the escape from the hotel in St. Petersburg – like “Mission impossible”. Why would you make up this love story with a Russian prostitute? Well, there was no "47" girl. All these snots are infuriating. In the game, all these agents were clones. There are no orphans here. How ridiculous it was when a Negro, some stiff, and even earlier very old agent appeared. And this scene of "worthy" death - the battle on the sabers - pissed me off. The action of pure water and no stealth. To be honest, the whole film reminds exactly those fighters of the mid-90s. And that's all because of what's happening on the screen. If it were not for mobile phones and a cool car, which drives g – you can believe it. He was so passionate about the image of Hitman that he paid almost all attention to him during the viewing: looking for similarities, ugliness, etc., that he did not watch the plot very closely. However, it was clear that the writers (if any) decided to laugh. It is annoying that most of the film takes place in Russia, or rather in Russia, as it was in the film. And it is clear that the creators did not even go there. They dullly watched the old American militants and decided once again to swindle / mock the Russians. Apparently, only a Russian man laughed at all this nonsense happening in the film. Although the film is supposedly serious. I will not say anything more about this: and so everyone saw / see, and so much talk about it. Well, fans are indignant, fans of computer games once again with fans, ordinary viewers as simple spectators, someone will like, someone will not. Although after hurricane summer blockbusters, really "cool" action movies will be missed on this film. So the verdict: No. By the way, thanks to our distributors that did not think to translate literally the title of the film and left as is “Hitman”. 5 out of 10 Original
