The unbearable weight of being So, New York, these days. Dr. Henry Morgan is a medical examiner, and is considered an outstanding specialist in his field. As you can see, the doctor has a secret. He is immortal, and he is also non-killable. Whenever he dies, he finds himself naked in the waters of the East River and starts all over again. Henry weighs on his immortality, and he works on corpses in the hope of understanding what is wrong with himself.
It is ungrateful to write reviews of TV shows that I just started watching. However, I would like to share my impressions after watching two episodes. In genre terms, “Eternity” is a hybrid of mysticism and detective. On the one hand, Henry indulges in his gift, which he perceives as a curse, which, however, has not yet found a psychologically convincing explanation. Is he losing loved ones? But forgive me, and we, ordinary people, also lose them. Tired of living two hundred years? Isn't it too early? His attempts to deal with himself by examining corpses are not particularly clear, because what is happening to Henry is clearly supernatural. Apparently feeling that everything is not smooth, the writers almost immediately introduce a mysterious pursuer, pestering Henry with calls and parcels. He knows about the doctor's secret and he's been living for over 2,000 years!
It is difficult to predict how the line with the secret pursuer will develop, but so far the main place in the plot is occupied by the detective theme. The authors endowed Henry with outstanding inductive abilities, so that the police can only listen with their mouths open. Doc makes such conclusions on the bodies of the victims that the cops do not have to run long in search of criminals. Henry’s conclusions sometimes look a little far-fetched, and the crimes themselves, on the contrary, are a little half-thought-out authors, but it looks quite interesting, so I will not find fault. Unfortunately, with one exception, the supporting characters are so churned out that they seem to have been borrowed from several other series at once. Henry Morgan works closely with a female detective, of course, a young beauty who has a dull partner. Does that remind you of anything? : The truth is that there is no humor yet. It's so serious.
Of course, this is not the project of the year and you will not lose anything if you miss it. But you can also see without regret about the time wasted. It's such a solid average, nothing more or less.
