Great movie. It is a pity that he did not get promotion in Russia, however, it is even strange, given the rabid popularity of Taylor Lautner among teenagers. And the theme of parkour is still very relevant, especially since the film reveals its philosophy and even the practical application among anarchists, young people of alternative views (such modern beatniks) and criminal structures. Anti-state theses, the corruption of departments, the dominance of soulless monopolists, the jungle of a huge city and the romance of enlightened souls - what else is needed for a successful rental in Russia? I was expecting a release myself, I was really hoping for dubbing and was going to visit the theaters a couple of times, but I never waited. I had to look in the original and gradually translate myself. The film still did not bypass its viewer, but when broadcasting it on the big screen, such an audience would be much more.
But if you set aside the Russian adaptation, the film lived up to expectations. And the plot, and the skill of parkour, and acting, and sound, and dialogue, and passion, and the picture, and the presentation, and most importantly, the atmosphere – all at the highest level, taking into account low costs and minimizing computer effects. Tracers is an example of modern theatrical cinema, based on the merits of stuntmen and operators, not IT designers and programmers. Such a film genre will never die out, and it is on it that Russian producers and screenwriters should be put, planning the creation of new projects.
The film has few downsides. This is the predictability of some storylines, the excessive sweetness of the soundtrack (could add variety to the synthetic tuber). A pinch of rock or something. This, after all, about film tracers, after all, and the catastrophic shortage of female characters. There is only one young woman, who was inadvertently called “sexy” in the description, although I would describe this girl wrapped up from head to toe in a tracksuit, rather by the word “brutal”. But Augeropoulos is American. “Tracers” is a great teenage film with discussion of important social issues, moral dilemmas and the embodiment of cool action techniques that were not used, for example, even in “Yamakashi”.

Taylor Lautner is a low-caliber actor to me, and to be honest, I don't like him very much. In this regard, I was very upset that he was here in the lead role and didn’t really want to watch the film, but the title of the film “Tracers” still took its toll. I have infinite respect for this discipline, or rather the art of moving and overcoming obstacles that I could not pass by.
The plot of the film revolves around a guy named Cam, who works as a bicycle courier, who tries to survive in the Big Apple. He has a difficult financial situation, he owes a lot and is now looking for any ways to get them back. Well, the beginning of the film is nothing new or super interesting does not present, but in connection with a very good development of events, interest in the plot still holds the bar. One day he accidentally meets a girl who later takes him into the world of parkour. Later, he meets other guys tracers, who dedicate him to his “gang” and his criminal activities. And speaking of this activity, I did not have enough scope, I would like more depth, diversity, because this activity is mainly based on the plot. But despite this, all events look cheerful and worthy. What can be praised without reproach, is a love line, it turned out to be very good for me.
It also deserves the praise of parkour in the film. It is many, it is beautiful and exciting. The film shows a lot of elements of parkour, so all lovers of this art should definitely see. As for the characters of the picture, here I have complaints. Why are they so poorly shown? This applies to almost all the main character, the team of tracers, etc. I could have done better. There is not much to say about actors. Taylor Lautner as he always played barely - barely on the average and plays. Marie Augeropoulos not to say that brilliant, but in General and well acted some scenes. In general, the acting game is average. Someone to single out and say that he played well or badly failed.
The result - it turned out to be an average not outstanding film, the plot, albeit not very bad, still cannot boast much - either, the characters too, but despite this, the film is excellent, exciting parkour and a good youth atmosphere. I managed to enjoy this film and received much more positive emotions, for which the film gets the green light.

Whatever the kid wants, as long as he doesn't run away from the cops.
If we proceed, before watching the film, from the facts that describe it, we can assume that this is another movie for young people, telling about dangerous, forbidden, but very tempting cultures and hobbies. Be it racing, dancing, various kinds of extreme sports. And here's a trailer movie. Personally, everything seems to be as usual in these films. A simple but classic plot (he joined the party, began to get carried away and in the end found love and recognition of everyone), a bunch of mind-blowing tricks and effects, after which he himself will want to rush headlong on roofs and all pseudo obstacles. This is partly the case in this movie, but very little of it. These pictures are close to me, it is always nice to plunge into the atmosphere of such a movie, no matter how primitive it may seem. But in this movie everything is cheap and dull.
From the first shots, it seems that you are watching an advertisement from 10 years ago, which advertises a bicycle brand that makes highways.
The director’s camera is shaking too much all the time, which from the effect of sports dynamic shooting is a shooting of a drunken neighbor who runs away from dogs and tries to record it on camera.
The plot is far from the culture in honor of which the name of the film. Here it is just such a criminal manner to earn, there is almost no word about love for skyscrapers. But the idea was originally stolen from the game Mirrors Edge, where the main character is a tracer courier, the analogy is more than clear.
The main characters. More like their story. Shy woman tracer (although, maybe someone will say mysterious).
Dude from twilight, Cam. He took out debts from the mafia, which apparently already lends money. The banks will overtake. Plus, the guy clearly does not differ in intelligence and ingenuity, but there is a bit of a tragic story about his father and the desire to find even more problems.
And in general, the film is disgusting music, very lack of entertainment, poor camera and cast.

If you want to admire the real current tracers, then on the Internet you will find much more interesting and exciting, even amateur videos, or, reconsider Yamakashi or District 13, and as for the film, a score only for the fact that there are no films about parkour for a long time. The rest of the film is a bit weak... What's the matter?
Taylor Lautner is still trying to become a star, Die only tried to spin the torso of a young “actor”. It seems that he will not move beyond this role (dog). I remember him like that once and for all. Before that, there was a god-awful Sharkboy, after no Chase. But there are no really successful films. So he decided after 3 years of break to star in something that will show his athletic form. Cameo in "Classmates 2" does not count. He's a lone cyclist, but by the end of the day, his status will change.
Cam is a courier, if he loses his bike, he will have problems because he does not know how to work in another industry or does not want to work. You're telling me a troubled guy with multiple priors isn't going anywhere else? I don't. He also has to pay the debt and pay the rent. We need to fix the car that came from his father, but Cam pretends he's going to make it, and they get in the way. Of course, despite everything, the hero wants to do parkour. Then, after the loss of his income, he will be released. Plus, there’s a beautiful parker nearby. This is a typical American story. Where is the poor man without the other half? Lautner plays Lautner, so dialogue is not his favorite and we should add more unsuccessful tricks, so that the viewer does not get bored in the midst of all this pathos and drama. (Imho: I would do well to include the track "Eye Of The Tiger" in the editing of the training scenes for fun.) But you also need to spread the cards so that the problems of the main character melt by themselves in the end. One shot a bunch of rabbits, happy and your division!
I often find fault with genres. It was expected to be a Yamakashi-style American parkour fighter. But here the action scenes of the same Fighter is not enough, and the jumping errands themselves look pale in comparison with the French film. There's not even a good soundtrack. And that's anything: parkour melodrama, crime drama. It's by no means an action movie. Correctly, the second-rate “Bold Bottom” and “Armenian Robbery” are cited as an example of the “Tracers”. They don’t produce a WOW effect, they compete in the number of meaningless scenes, they tire with their sameness. And this damn storyline about lovers associated with crime is terribly boring.
I hope T.L. gets a Youtube channel, does some tricks on camera, and doesn’t make movies anymore. He does not live up to the expectations (as an actor) of producers and spectators.
“What do you do? Anything if the cops don't get it.
What an intriguing description of the film! "Tracers" is a new action movie for young people who still remember who Taylor Lautner is and probably still dreams of seeing him in the same form in which he was remembered by many fans of "Twilight". It is a pity that a rather talented and successful young actor has recently disappeared in one-time Hollywood crafts. On the other hand, in Twilight, he was not in the lead role, but “one of them.” A "Tracers", just like the previous "Chase", represent him as the central character. By the way, the previous film turned out to be much more dynamic and interesting, even if the script was the same bullshit as here.
In principle, it is necessary only in order to somehow justify the motivation of the main character. You can imagine this in real life, but a lot of things are far-fetched. I always like the fact that the main character, whoever he is, at some point turns out to be almost superman. Just because circumstances forced it. This is like the character of John Rambo, who, due to strong pressure from outside, at one moment gathered his strength and showed all the offenders his mother. So, the kid Cam in "Tracers", of course, not burned by hell war veteran. On the contrary, he is a completely harmless cyclist who got into trouble.
Quite a life story about the fact that family misfortune forced to get into debt, and the modern system is so poor that it does not allow a hardworking guy to overcome difficulties in everyday ways. Of course, at some point Cam comes across a “mysterious stranger” with the help of which he enters a completely different world. Where you can make money and meet very interesting people. It doesn’t matter if it’s a crime, some mysterious parkour workers or something. Be sure to have a love affair, rivalry, the tragedy of the Glavhero, etc. In general, all this is not particularly tiresome if you watch a movie once every six months.
But when such plots flash before my eyes dozens of times a year, and only the scenes and actors change, it is no longer interesting. This is the problem of the "Tracers" - all this we have seen. Yamakashi was one of the first, but the sequel was nothing. The first "13th district" is awesome, all subsequent films are boring. Same thing here. You can see the movie is not bad, with good actors, beautiful parkour scenes, even a normal ending. But it's completely devoid of originality. But there is a beautiful soundtrack, thank you! And by the way, if not now recognizable Lotner, Tracers would most likely notice generally only fans of extreme movements ...
After the release of such films as Yamakashi and District 13, directors who do not want to shoot vampires in their films decided to go into parkour.
Started to release all sorts of remakes, sequels and so on. It’s not always a good thing, but let me tell you when it stopped someone from trying. Do not go far, take a look at the film “13 district: Brick mansions”. Many have now spit over their left shoulder three times so as not to mention it again. But for the lucky ones who didn't, I'll say a few words. Imagine that you took a copywriter, stuck a French film called "Borough 13" in it and copied it completely. All the nuances of the plot, the whole essence of this film was simply copied and released on screens, replacing perhaps the cast. Why? Why? And for whom? It is not clear (how to say: “no time to explain, just do”). But the fact that the film failed at the box office, having collected absolutely no box office and not paying itself off at all, is a fact. We wanted to crawl out at Paul Walker's expense, but it didn't work. The guy tried, but when the conversation began, written off from the previous film, the desire to watch instantly evaporated.
While the founder of parkour strives to keep young unprepared guys from jumping from the roof to the roof, the film production machine does not skimp on the budget and every time shoots something new and new. If before it was fashionable just to watch the main character jumping, doing somersaults in urban areas, now it is not interesting. Directors try to somehow surprise, mix different styles, adding to the kind and harmless parkour - drugs, fights and shootouts with local bosses.
“Trackers” did not escape this fate. We have an ordinary guy who works in the courier service. Barely making ends meet, and even borrowed a certain amount of money from local bandits. But then everything changes when he crashes into a taxi, hits a girl and realizes that a bicycle is good, but two wheels do not make much money. It is time to do something important, namely parkour, or more precisely, criminal parkour. An unexpected turn? Not at all, considering that we could not offer anything else.
The director, as a person is not stupid, clearly tried to make the film dynamic. But he didn't succeed. The plot seems to have a logical beginning and end, but constantly slips, stalls on the main points. All these pathetic words about the fact that borders do not exist, already sound depressing. And all the jumping and the ability to quietly sneak into buildings just loses all meaning when we start watching the main characters play. The picture lacks dynamics, because when we look back at the predecessors, we realize that this will not happen. The film is stuffed with a stupid plot, spraying its forces on everything and at once, instead of focusing on one thing.
The cast is stupid, that's really what Lautner is worth. The poor guy goes out of his way and all in order to stop being associated with the top of the movie “Twilight”. The poor guy pretty much agrees to anything he gets offered. And if the rest began to appear in serious films, focusing on acting, then he was mired in second-rate and stupid action films. He is still young and has everything in front of him, I want to believe it, but he needs to change something today. It is necessary to better approach the selection of paintings and do everything possible so that the viewer sees not only his sports talents, but also acting. The rest of the people involved in the film, I only associate with extras. Nothing more or less.
A picture of medium lousy, disposable. Lautner skilfully jumps over obstacles, even the main character slightly undressed. That's all I can remember. I wanted something more, probably next time.

In my opinion, a very specific choice of the film genre. I haven’t watched a lot of movies about bikes and racing them. But I liked the lack thereof. I watched the movie “Urgent delivery” with the participation of actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the film is certainly not very good but you can watch, interested. But in the movie Tracers, not only is there a bike race, but there's parkour. I immediately remembered the movie “13th District”, in my opinion it is just a masterpiece. There is everything there, from the film it is impossible to take your eyes off, throughout the film you have a sense of anxiety, parkour at the elevated level, the cast is simply flawless. Well, we are now about the film Tracers, it is certainly not suitable for the "13th district", but still, but also not bad, the tricks are not so difficult but will go away.
I like Taylor Lautner, I haven’t seen him in a bad role yet, I think he plays good characters. Another film with his participation "The Chase", he also plays a good hero, also runs away from someone as in our film.
And as for the main actress Marie Avgeropoulos, a young and promising actress, she was remembered by me in the series "Hundred", who perfectly played a celestial resident. And the film Tracers she played no worse than in the series.
The film belongs to the category of ordinary movie watching. Which we watch every day, at any time of the day. It is not suitable for a pleasant or special movie viewing. The film is not bad, you can watch it, but he does not want to watch it again and again.
"Tracers" is made in the genre of "parkour-action" as the famous French "13 district". The characters of the picture also jump a lot on roofs, run on walls and even shoot, however, occasionally. But it does not look as exciting and spectacular as the French. Although the tricks and jumps are realistic and like parkour in the frame a lot, but everything is as gray, dull and simple. And the point here is not only in the faded play of Taylor Lautner or the lack of witty humor characteristic only of the French, but the lack of an interesting decorated plot.
The first hour of the picture is purely “parkour-action”, the characters run on walls and jump on roofs, perform some “work” is not quite legal. But there is no intrigue in these sixty minutes, no one chases the heroes. It lacks the criminal spirit that should be inherent in the film, the tension, the feelings for the hero that would add to the sharpness of the plot and would be a great addition to their parkour and trickery. It all appears towards the end of the film, fifteen minutes before the final credits. Why the first hour of the picture is extremely difficult to view, especially if you are not a fan of parkour. The remaining half an hour of the picture acquire the features of a criminal action movie with shooting and running on roofs. And only you begin to closely monitor the growing tension in the frame, as a dozen guns are directed at the Glavgada and all peacefully go home.
As a result, Daniel Benmaur made an extremely simple film on the theme of parkour. If the film can be recommended to anyone, then only to parkour fans. Everyone else should reconsider the French hits "13 district" and "Yamakashi".
“In our minds, our dreams look much more beautiful than when they come true.”
Cam (T.L.) - good-natured "lone kid", long ago his "ancestors went to heaven", now he works as a bike courier and "turns and turns on one leg" in the "stormy cycle" New York, fate forces to live from paycheck to paycheck in a rented garage to pay off old debts - takes new, moreover, gangsters "press on all sides", but one of these ordinary days the guy meets a mysterious "fox-trick" Nikki (Marie Avgeropoulos), everything instantly changes ...
Plusomines: thanks to the writers that did not become of the main character - Taylor Lautner to do again "Bond agent", this is pleasing, here he does not even kill anyone, "does not crumple" the body of opponents as a fantastic "Statminator", clearly in order not to repeat the failures of the previous film ("Abduction" 2011.) about the "superschoolboy". Parkour stunts are of course easy to perform (I think that in childhood everyone climbed, jumped, ran around abandoned construction sites, such as “catch-up”), but the actor performed them himself (95%), apparently spent time training. In principle, the entire cast is not “junky”, more or less got used to the role, if you evaluate five points, the bearded Cam – 5; “disgraced chess player” Miller (Adam Rainer) – 4.5; pretty beauty Nikki – 4; although sometimes her brother Dylan (Rafi Gavron) brakes not childish – 3.5. In the content without mini-bluffs did not do (the first “male” trial, in the police station “job”), the plot is not new, the horrifying similarity to millions of similar (thoughtfully scrolling: “Urgent delivery”, “Young blood”, “Va-Bank”, “Bold days”, “Robby American”, etc.) criminal stories with an amusement about love and 15 minutes of action, of course, this creation to the French tape “Yamakasi”, “Va-Bank”, “Buddy days”, “American Robbery”, etc.), as well as the author did not have enough...
Passage “watchable action film” of which comes out thousands a year, but still there is a inherent essence in it – the future belongs to those who believe in their dreams, “success is not far off”, only it remains to choose – to work hard, or “go down the slope”, and what ways will be achieved your goal, decide for yourself.
