In the now distant times I came across a huge stand with a poster of the film in the now defunct KT Kyrgyzstan, and only yesterday it caught my eye again and I finally decided to get acquainted.
The dragon theme is inexhaustible and can be rethought over and over again. I will immediately say that I have not read the original source, so I will evaluate it as an independent work.
First, the good stuff. Graphics and pictures are praised by everyone, except that in 2023 someone can find fault, forgetting how old this work is. This is good for our cinema, and then even better. The dragon, of course, is an almost exact replica of the Wyverns from Game of Thrones, so what a good thing it was. The only fault with a scaly comrade is his size. I was constantly confused, trying to understand them. Here it in a short perspective hangs on a rock and seems the size of a three-storey house. And here's the girl in his paw, with one back left, he embraces the girl almost completely. And here he is next to her, not at all impressive, the size of a horse. . .
The idea, of course, is interesting, but as I realized, the writers did not come up with it themselves. And since in the movie it is not customary to take ready-made, even if it is very good, and it is necessary to plaster with your own division, even if it is very bad, the result came out, as usual, indistinct. I have read many claims that the Stockholm syndrome, codependency and rescue - this is not at all what is worth romanticizing and investing in fragile minds. I disagree with this position, because in this particular case the thesis “Itazhikaaazka!” works perfectly. If a girl after watching a film decides that a fairy-tale hero with his fairy-tale problems is the same as her boyfriend, sociopath, psychopath, drug addict, alcoholic and tyrant, who can and should be loved, saved and tolerated, then this is, of course, the problem of the girl, not the film. It has long been known that no one makes films about how two adequate people met, fell in love, started a family and lived happily ever after, due to the lack of demand for content. We are interested in seeing how people overcome, what can we do here?
This film has other, egregious moral and moral issues. What fascinated me most was the long scene of building a nest out of what was left of the wrecked ships. Ale, people died there, many, many people! But the longing that your house is a huge cemetery is given 10 seconds of screen time, and then the characters happily throw pillows to cheerful music. On the other hand, this characterizes the young princess. Let her, suppose, 14 years old, lived in prosperity, did not need anything, but after all, they are already getting married, should there be at least some thought in her head? Have you ever heard that people die, that people pay tribute to memory? The sociopath in this film is the princess. She doesn’t care much about her family and tribe, and the dragon’s feelings don’t bother her until she realizes that there are better options. Add here a rather unpleasant appearance of the actress with different eyes and protruding forehead. I don't understand why they say she's beautiful and cute. She could be called ordinary if she did not talk like the daughter of marginalized people from the next entrance.
Speech is, of course, the deadliest part of the film. All the characters speak the same words and intonations as in all the worst Russian TV series. They just learn the lyrics and tell them how familiar they are, not what the spirit of the film and basic acting skills require. And this cannot be justified by the fact that here, in fact, is not Ancient Russia, as many write, but an invented folk world. For example, in the “Snow Maiden” of 1968, the atmosphere of a non-existent kingdom is conveyed, among other things, by dialogue. Yes, Ostrovsky wrote them, but, notice, the authors of the Snow Maiden did not replace them with “Deprive Comrade Mezgir of a party ticket!” just because it would be familiar to the actors in their real life. I don't mean you had to say "Azm you, Paki-Paki" in Dragon, but could you have fantasized a little? Even the words "dragon, monster" - borrowed, replace them with "serpent, monster" - and now two steps to dive into the lore.
The score is still neutral, since the visual is as good as the actors and dialogue are bad.

To be honest, I am not a fan of Russian cinema. And when this film came out, I passed by, thinking that this is another masterpiece in the spirit of fairy tales about heroes. Well, I did. And then I saw in the recommendations of one Korean performer-cinema, who had not previously recommended bad films.
“Okay, I’ll see,” I thought then, there was nothing to do in the evening anyway, suddenly everything is not so bad.
And I looked. And I loved it. I liked a few things at once.
1) The film is beautiful in all its moments. The color scheme of the film and the interiors very well convey the mood that at one time or another should be. Beautiful work of the operator, some shots I wanted to screen and drag to the screensaver. The costumes, all these berries, beads, the headdresses of the princess and her sisters cause a separate awe. Normal for that period of Russian cinema and graphics dragon. I was happy. I love beautiful movies.
2) The plot went down very well. Smooth and without pianos in the bushes. Simple and straightforward for a fairy tale. With his own morals and even with a little bit of agenda at the time. But moderately. And whether it is right or not to broadcast this, people themselves must decide and work with psychologists. This is another conversation.
(3) The game, yes, at some points something scratched the spotlight. But, on the contrary, I liked this not perfect and not worn by cliches of young actors. Somewhere even this inexperience and awkwardness on the contrary very much in the subject of the plot played.
(4) Songs! It's a separate item. I fell in love with Ritaul and Lullaby. The songs for the film are excellent.
Yes, you can compare 'He's a Dragon' to 'Beauty and the Beast'. But there are no annoying candlesticks and kettles. If anything, the Russian version is nicer and not squishy - sweet.
In general, the film went into the category of favorites and often revised. In fact, due to another revision and decided so many years later to write a review.
A visually beautiful tale of a victim who falls in love with her captor
While the whole world is gripped by waves of “metoo” and problems of abstruse relations, Russia is filming another version of “Beauty and the Beast”, but less logical.
Very beautiful picture, very beautiful actors, special effects very well done, but the acting is just terrible. As well as dialogue between the characters, and not only between the main ones.
I didn’t really like the message: not only is Stockholm Syndrome a syndrome, it’s not the norm: falling in love and feeling for someone who kidnapped you for one purpose or another, so even then there is a bias towards “rescuer-victim”. . This is a very slippery topic, I believe that it is impossible to romanticize this so as not to form a model of behavior in girls, in which she will definitely want to “save” her “dragon”.
I liked the work of the cameraman: the characters feel chemistry, despite their woodenness in communicating with each other. Of course, only Armand is well revealed. Mira’s story has not been told, and I would be interested to know why she so calmly agreed to stay on the island (the same Belle, for example, had a motive to save the Pope). There is also a sense of naivety and frivolity.
A good story that should be seen as a fairy tale. The film begins rather gloomy and creepy, but then everything calms down, and the atmosphere becomes lighter. She is kidnapped by a dragon during her wedding. Learning that the Dragon is a young man, the heroine tries to establish contact with him and get out of the island to which he brought her. The dragon, on the other hand, is trying to learn to control his animal hypostasis in order to become more human than animal. However, they can not touch each other, otherwise the animal essence instantly breaks out. . . The film is very beautiful. Unnatural, fantastic, fabulous. But it's about magic, so it's all goodbye. Just watch and enjoy, if you want something simple, naive and kind. In general, not the adult viewer with his analysis and nagging. It's kind of hard to watch. 12 to 15 years. But still, it was nice to see.
"We happened once - we couldn't do it again, and spring refused to ask for us."
' He is a dragon' came to me suddenly, in principle, became skeptical of such paintings over time, because in ' new wave' Russian cinema is rarely found, something honest, real and with a soul. Could Bekmambetov and Jendubaev make a good fairy tale for all time? Partly. ..
I’ll start with the bad parts of the movie and go for the good ones.
What didn't happen in the movie? The story and characters are not the best part of this story. Although, what I find fault with is fantasy, why there is a strong plot, why there are prescribed characters. Well, two met, fell in love, and the whole film will be in the development of the love line with the subsequent struggle. Is this supposed to work? It works in many other films as well. But not in this, trouble ' He is a dragon' in naive dialogue. And the acting game was blown up.
Poezhaeva does not play, and Lykov overplays, then on the contrary, depending on the scene. What words do they throw at each other? Ears wither, maybe it will go to the admirer 'Twilight' but for fantasy of such a scale it is too poor, naive and wretched. But you can close your eyes to that.
What you can’t close your eyes to is the picture. Timur Bekmambetov uses his connections apparently, because he attracted real masters of his craft. The dragon looks good, so much so that even ' Golden Dragon' from the recent series ' The Witcher' - pales in front of him, the village looks authentic, as it should be among the northern peoples, the island itself is beautifully set, and although in places quite simple, but with taste.
In addition, you can not close your ears, and your ears will be caressed completely. Songs here and asked for the language, and from them for a long time will not dissociate. They are melodic, lyrical and moderately epic.
In general, for such a project as ' He is a dragon' our cinema can be proud of, this is a vivid example of high-quality Slavic fantasy, which is not for children's eyes but for adolescents and the younger generation in general. The film has a simple plot, a beautiful picture, beautiful actors and incomparable music. Maybe the desire to re-immerse in this world and will not arise after watching, but I will not regret the time spent.
Honest
The first Russian fantasy I ever saw. I always believed that we simply do not know how to shoot such a genre and was skeptical of the film, expecting something absurd. But, fortunately, the film managed to please me to some extent.
The first thing that caught my eye and liked was the atmosphere of the film. Pleasant color scheme: the contrast of black with white in cold shades, but with curves interspersed with burgundy, which is a bright accent throughout the film. Not much, but it looks really beautiful and organic. Realistic scenery and costumes also supported the atmosphere of the film. The visual for me is just 10 out of 10.
Of the minuses for myself, I can note a rather banal story from fairy tales about a kidnapped beauty, about the savior, about finding true strong love. Although, I confess, serving isn't that bad. However, the question arose as to how this actually happened. Whether it is really love or Stockholm syndrome is unclear.
There are also questions about the characters. You can see that the writer really tried to work them out, but it turned out not as well as I would like. Characters are recognizable and understandable, but not memorable.
The result: a good film with a beautiful picture on an interesting topic, but a rather banal plot with faded characters. You can watch it once, but you do not want to review it again.
Film review of the film "He-dragon" — Magic love story.
The film tells about the time of the Slavic princes, where the royal families sought to unite with other nationalities through marriage to stop countless wars for territory and majesty, and the Slavic people were closely connected with nature and faith.
The ancient tale of the Dragon stealing brides from the altar, turns into a real magical love story for the young princess Myra.
One of the few Russian films, with a claim not only to the excellent acting, but also elegant use of the latest technologies of special effects and compliance with graphic nuances. Detailed study of costumes transfers to another era, and the delicate work of the sound engineer reveals the picture in a new way, filling with suitable and majestic music.
I have a very negative attitude towards contemporary Russian cinema in general. I believe that almost all of our films are either naked and false propaganda (such as the film “Admiral”) or inept borrowing of Western ideas, techniques (such as “Dame of Spades”, “Gogol’s Beginning”) or too naive non-realistic films (”Cleop”, “I lose weight”, etc.). However, this film surprised me pleasantly. But everything in order.
The film catches from the first frames: a cool soundtrack, beautiful high-quality shooting of pagan sacrifices please the eye ... the feeling that you included another series of the series “Vikings”, and not a Russian film. Rowberry in the snow, barefoot long-haired blond girls as a sacrifice to the monster ... then in the frame appears He is a dragon. The reptile is made qualitatively, not worse than The Hobbit, The Power of Fire and other foreign films with dragons. Then we see the wooden city. It looks like a real city, and not the squalor of shit and sticks that we saw in the domestic film “Viking”.
Marina Poezhaeva as Princess Miroslava is a brilliant choice. The girl still feels a kind of childish charisma, spontaneity, charm (you can say “shining”, if you understand what I mean), and most importantly, that she looks like a truly Russian maiden. Matvey Lykov as a dragon also looks very, very colorful.
The film has a lot of special effects and beautiful panoramic scenes, qualitatively executed scenery. It is obvious that the film was created with a soul.
The second half of the film is a retreat into melodrama and the psychology of a girl’s relationship with a guy (in this case, not quite with a guy). Despite the attempt to create some intrigue a couple of times, the finale of the picture is predictable, since the film is shot in the genre of fairy tales (good fantasy), and I believe that one hundred percent of the audience guessed the ending. But you also knew the ending in The Lord of the Rings, didn’t you? But that didn’t stop you from enjoying the process.
P.S.: It feels like the filmmakers are fans of Skyrim.
P.P.S.: Have you ever seen Russian fantasy? No, not the squalor of the “Last hero”, but at the level of American quality fantasy? Now we have. And this gives hope that in our country all is not lost.
A glorious day will come.
The wings will disappear.
And the cry of death will cease above!
He is a dragon, he is a dragon.
The ancient darkness led
His blood is the call he called to battle.
His scream is a hurricane.
The heavens were given.
He is a dragon, only one destiny has given us!

Amazing archetypal fairy tale film! Let me start with what I think is the most visible part of the film. This is the subject of revealing and appropriating your power.
The dragon as an archetype is a metaphor for the inner strength of man. In our culture, this power is quenched and denied, because it is very contrary to the conventional pattern of the “good person.” A good man is a comfortable man. Convenient for everyone: for loved ones, for society, for power. Try to control a herd of dragons! What if there are millions? Therefore, it is customary to demonize power, dragons and all other manifestations of vitality in favor of social rules and laws. It would be better to learn and teach others to use it for good rather than harm. And the film is very competent, step by step teaches this.
As the plot progresses, we see how the main character Miroslav confronts this force and gradually learns to deal with it until she appropriates it. There's an important component to power. It's not for rage. It is necessary for tenderness and closeness. It is only when we feel our strength that we feel safe and only then can we really open up and go into contact and intimacy with another person.
The first meeting is often frightening and threatening. Our power seems to us a huge, uncontrollable dragon capable of burning us to the ground. Anyone who has experienced this knows. And it takes a lot of courage and open-mindedness to decide on a second meeting. In the film, the heroine looks brave due to a certain naivety and curiosity. I assure you, the reality is the same. Only a little bit of naivety and a very strong, almost childish curiosity can open the door to this story. But it's worth it. Here you can use the archetype of Trickster, Jester, Ivan-Fool or naive Mashenka. It is his role that Miroslav plays. And only this archetype can help in such matters. It is an archetype against which there is nothing to oppose. Never. Even the highest gods and archetypes will lose to him. Especially when it comes to transformations, crises and serious conflicts.
It is a story about the transformation of one person. Moreover, it can be seen both from the transformation of Miroslava, woman, man and her gaining power, and from the end of the Dragon, Armand and his acquisition of human appearance and curbing his power with the help of man. It turns out two focuses of attention and two stories: from man to force, and from elemental force to man.
But we go back to how it happened. After the first frightening meeting with the help of Trickster, a process of rapprochement and acquaintance takes place. And first, it is important to learn the safety techniques that will protect them from each other at first. Let us not hurt each other in the beginning. Then begins the process of humanizing the Force. The first thing a person needs is a name. Then he will associate himself with him all his life and with his help present himself to the world. And here is a gorgeous metaphor of lullaby and clay whistle. Mother, earth, peace, protection, peace. The beginning of human life. We are born small animals that know nothing about human life on earth. The first person I meet is my mother. But I would not say that Miroslava became a mother for Arman. Rather, it is a successful use of the element for reminding and a technique that helps to cope with your Force at the initial stage.
And after they have saved each other a couple of times, their real relationship begins. And like any relationship, they begin with building a cozy nest. A metaphor for building a shared space for oneself and one’s strength.
Only then did he teach her to “see the wind.” It is only after we have gained our Power that we become truly free and can finally fly.
When she learned to see the wind and “overcame the spell of the island,” he feared that it would become unnecessary and rejected her. It is also an important step in the process. First we fear our power, then we appropriate it, and then we need a period of awareness and introjection into our new way of being and living. You have to go back to the people. And only then combine strength and life. And the fact that through this power she chose herself, rather than the forced “right” marriage, is the goal. Learn to “see the wind,” tame your dragon, and choose yourself in this life. What to do next, decide for yourself later... You now have a step-by-step instruction on how to do this.
Now I suggest you look at this film from a few angles. The first is about how humanity mastered nature and the elements. He gave names to the gods, personifying the forces of nature, arranged nests with the help of natural resources, learned to fly by building airplanes. We are now at the stage of rejecting the significance of this force. I hope that in time we will return to her with love and understanding that she is important to us. This process has already begun.
There’s another meaning I see in this movie. It's a male-female relationship. There are good episodes in this perspective, and not so, in my opinion. From a bad point of view, if you look at this film from this angle, it would be called “How a woman makes a man a man.” I don't like that kind of question. Although there may be something good about it. For example, as a woman with her tenderness, softness and dedication, and spontaneity, softens a man and learns to respect his strength. A man, in turn, learns not to destroy a woman with his power. And no matter how they chatted from side to side, from attraction to rejection, fear and back, they found the points from which they returned to each other. And these dots are about significance, admiration, respect, curiosity about the "other" and kindness. These are the moments when they save each other no matter what, sacrificing themselves and putting themselves at risk instead of the other. It's a good marker. If you are willing to sacrifice your interests for someone, then this is the person you are willing to be with. We now live in a very selfish society, and these qualities can only manifest themselves in relation to the most important and valuable.
This is an encyclopedia about how to be together. This is about free conscious choice, and about finding NOT hurting each other, and about finding yourself in these relationships, and finding a common language, and the willingness to learn from each other, learn to master yourself and find your value in partnership.
Here is a diverse and deep film that you can turn layer by layer and enjoy a strong and powerful dragon, a beautiful woman and stunning landscapes.
I love movies like this and this one didn’t disappoint me. Even though I watched it a few years ago, I still remember it, which is not the case with every movie. As for the graphics, the dragon is excellent, but the animal is a friend-helper, surprisingly poorly drawn, but you can generally close your eyes to this. Of course, this is not a masterpiece, but you can spend time watching it.
It doesn’t matter whose idea it was. Important is competent implementation.
It’s amazing to see what our filmmakers can do. Let me start with a good one.
1) The picture of the film is really high. From the frosty winter Slavic world to the tropical summer magic. Dragon, reincarnations, graphics in general - surprisingly beautiful for modest budgets, you feel that people really worked through all the details. Not a hack.
2 Characters (about acting later). Thoughtful, filled with characters and history, the main character with characteristic national behavioral notes: “Wake up and take me home!” It seems that the writers also tried, given that the film was shot from the book.
3) Soudtrack. Music that clearly gives off Slavic folklore catches, and even more remains in memory. I want to sing a ritual song.
(4) Plot. Attractive for its simplicity (yes, we have all seen / heard / watched) - you can describe one phrase - "beauty and the monster" (I don't know why everyone sees twilight? apparently, because of the same acting game), but the category of the film is "beauty and the monster" - it is all the plot lines and moves of similar snot-romantic fantasy films built on the basis of "beauty and the monster", "little flower", or that the drawing signifies that appeared to the scene. One way or another, some Hollywood could not quite stretch the simple idea as much as 4 parts (for the sake of Babosik, it is understandable).
Ours, in this regard, were quite adequats and fit into one film.
This, relatively simple formula finally allowed our Russian producers and directors to make quite a good movie, watchable, and without minuses.
There is one serious drawback of this movie - acting, which I have already mentioned. And if Maria Poezhaeva is even less perceived (although the actress openly overplays moments), then Matvey Lykov is not that he does not play, there is a feeling that he does not even try (apparently, Kristen Stewart is his idol).
Overall, the picture looks very nice. It does not pretend to be a world masterpiece, but at least gives hope that there are still people in our cinematography who want to do art for real.
I strongly disagree with the low rating of this film, I believe that it deserves more, 7.5 is the real rating of this film. I give him 10 out of 10, but those who read my review – know, I would put 7.
Only because the film is made by directors who want to do well and make efforts for this.
And because this film is made in a country where good movies have almost become nonsense, in a country where good fantasy is something prohibitively impossible. Bekmambetov and Jendubayev said it was possible and did it. That's why 10 out of 10.
The film is from the category “I found it difficult to appreciate it”. I watched this picture on the big screen – I can immediately say that it was worth it: the graphics exceeded all my expectations. Timur Bekmambetov was directly related to the production of the film, who gave the audience “Tree Tree”, “Search” and “Black Lightning” – all these films at one time received high marks from me, and Timur became associated with qualitatively tailored film projects. I remember that he had a hand in the “Night” and “Day” watches. It was peculiar, but bright and colorful. I was actually expecting something like this in this picture. “He is a dragon” is one of the few films in the genre of fantasy, just gaining momentum in our country, and therefore the participation of Bekmambetov a priori assumed something very cool both in design and moral component. In the end, it turned out, unfortunately, not everything.
Of the unambiguous advantages of the film, in addition to the above-mentioned gorgeous graphics, I will name a very interesting script. The film takes us back centuries. Princess Miroslava is promised a wife to a noble man who pleases her parents. In the midst of the wedding celebration, when the bride was sailing on a boat from the shores of her house to the shores of her future husband’s house, she is kidnapped by a dragon. Once imprisoned in a rock in the middle of the ocean, she meets the unsociable young man Armand. The young man inspires her with the hope that with his help she could leave the prison and escape from the dragon without having time to become his dinner. Knowing each other, young people fall in love with each other. However, after some time, the girl becomes aware that Armand keeps a terrible secret, with which she will somehow have to live on. And then her fiancé begins to search for her kidnapped bride.
The psychological part of the scenario is great – the way in which loving people’s relationships are portrayed and the correct moral emphasis placed in them is beyond praise. What is she, true love? What is she capable of? How does she change people? The love line from the point of view of the script caused such a powerful return for me that the film cut into my memory very firmly. The main characters show us the true essence of true love - when a loved one becomes more important than anything in the world, and you are ready to take any risks and sacrifices, just to be near and make him happy. Love is the only force that can resist and conquer all evil, even if at first it seems that evil is stronger. Love can melt even the hardest heart, give strength and courage in the most terrible battle and overcome what, it would seem, impossible to overcome. The finale is absolutely inimitable - it penetrates into the heart, causing a storm of emotions. An additional plus I will call the musical accompaniment - it is wonderful and always very successfully combined with the picture.
After such a description, it is probably strange that the beginning of the review for me begins with grumbles about what happened in the end so-so. But alas and ah. Despite the brilliant script and excellent technical component, the film seems very badly underdeveloped.
The biggest drawback of the film is the extremely weak acting. Both actors simply don’t play their roles. And if for Matvey Lykov (son of Casanova from “Mentov”) this is the first major role, and you can still shake your head, but with understanding, then for Maria Poezhaeva this role is not the first – in her arsenal there are at least the previously recommended “Mothballs” (where she also did not shine with acting) and “Class of correction”. After a few big projects, the acting usually gets better, but it seems hopeless. I'm sorry, of course. If in their place more talented young actors, for example, Rinal Mukhametov and Anna Chipovskaya, the result could be much better. Moreover, it could be a Russian masterpiece of this genre.
The second main disadvantage is poor installation and the lack of a feeling of complete immersion in the fictional world. It seems that the picture is great, the special effects are excellent, the dragon is drawn very believably and does not look like the one painted, but you are not “out there”, not inside the picture, you are in the audience with 100% understanding that you are watching the film, and not of the best quality. Strange combination. Especially for filmmakers of the level of Bekmambetov.
Despite all these disadvantages, I still put the film eight and recommend to watch. I think, knowing about the disadvantages in advance, the film can give a lot of positive emotions and paint a rainy autumn evening with bright colors.
Beautifully shot, chic costumes, scenery and computer graphics, camera work. The plot is straightforward, the ending is expected - at the beginning everything was clear.
“He’s a Dragon” for me was not just a beautiful fairy tale, but a film about the wives and girlfriends of drug addicts, alcoholics and other addicts. Why is there such an analogy? Because life with a dependent person is like the fate of Mira in this film: she lives in constant danger, her love is a heavy burden, and death lurks very close and it is not clear who she will take first: a beautiful maiden or a dragon.
Am I excited about this movie? I can’t say, but ours are definitely good, made a beautiful lyrical movie.
My husband and I watched this movie yesterday. I really liked this movie. I haven't read the book. But I did not expect that our can so beautifully invent, draw, play and shoot.
Very beautifully painted and filmed the transformation of a man into a dragon, the dragon is beautiful. The plot is not beaten, imho, and very interesting. Special effects, too, imho, are high. To special effects like in the comics, of course, Marvel is still far away, but there is something to strive for.
Actors do not overplay their game and their feelings believe. The end of the story is also very pleasant, to me, and unusual, although partly predictable.
It’s funny that the movie starts and ends with the same ritual, but the rituals are very different. If at the beginning of the film in the ritual you see only hopelessness, then at the end - a huge love.
Sometimes you think:" ... well, the main characters will not work out all right, now some of them will be killed. But like a good story, everything ends well. It was very interesting to watch Miroslava become a good princess.
Interestingly drawn as an animal, the hyena, most likely, is a kind of fluffy, the middle between a cat and a small dog with a muzzle that resembles a monkey.
After the film, I had a pleasant aftertaste - after all, our people can shoot beautifully, interestingly and qualitatively if they want to. I’ll have to read a book, I wonder how it differs from the movie.

I only watched this movie because of positive reviews. I actually love fairy tales and legends, but here the impression was ambiguous.
I think everyone can imagine a situation when he receives a gift box, stunning in its beauty, opens in anticipation, and there ... socks. Or shampoo, or other banality, which in itself may be harmless, and even does not hurt, but the question is – why was it so richly packaged? So with this movie, the beginning and the end are amazing, the bulk of it is brutally failed. When Hollywood in the worst sense of the word “Titanic in the Blue Lagoon” went, I wanted to stop watching and do more important and interesting things. I endured with effort, but the end was worth it. It is clear that the law of the genre implies a certain sweetness in this part, but why in the American manner? Why was it impossible to shoot in Russian-European - more soulful and not so dull?
Moreover, it was in this part that I wanted to shout “and the princess is not real!”
It is not the young actress who is to blame, but the author of dialogues and the director, who decided not to bother, like, will do. No, gentlemen, it won't. The princess, both fabulous and historical, can certainly behave as she pleases, and even in an ugly way. Yes, only at the same time she will remain a princess, and not turn into a student of a poor pediatric college with appropriate manners and speech stamps, which we observe. It is a complete impression that it was not the princess who fell into the hands of the dragon, but the said student was pinned down in the entrance by a neighbor - a gopnik and a drunkard, and she broadcasts to him what she heard from the corner of his ear at a lecture on pedagogy.
Thus, we got a luxurious festive cake from a wonderful delicacy dough, and inside ... a layer of strawberry gum, which is about to be pulled from the mouth of the heroine after the utterance of another modern stamp. Sad and sad, gentlemen.

And then just the beginning and the end. It will be nice to review them separately, without filling.
I found out about the film by accident, watching videos on You Tube. The video sequence was good, but Russian production was frightening, it is painfully rare that we get quality films. But after hesitation, I decided to watch. No regrets.
The fairy tale was sweet and kind. It shows how important it is sometimes to accept yourself as you are without trying to become someone else. Through love between a man and a woman. No twists, disguises or complex images. And that's what I'm good at. Now many writers and screenwriters are so afraid to appear too superficial and simple that more and more complex plots lose their purpose. Or it is so disguised that the recipients of the final product do not even know about it. Everything's fine here. The problems are clearly spelled out and how they were tried to solve, successfully and not very well.
Alternatively, the Slavic world also pleased. At least not by trying to be historical. With their traditions, fears and beliefs. So the princess has every right to be free and daring.
The quality of the actors would like better, but even so it turned out well. Could not kill romance and sometimes not too well-chosen soundtracks.
After enjoying a slightly drawn-out but beautiful final scene, I went out to vent awe at friends who had enlightened me that the film was based on the book '. Somewhere here I saw info that the authors of this book are not happy with the film. After reading it, I understood why.
Because the movie is very motivated. Even heroes have different problems. And also, for those who need the heroes to be just like alive, read. There, the heroine is alive to the point of disgust. May the fans of Dyachenko’s work forgive me. And I'm going to go revisit the film, where the characters may be more template, but remember what honor and loyalty are.
A great children's film in the best traditions of Dyachenko
I consider Dyachenko the best phenomenon in Russian modern literature, not only fantastic, but in literature in general. I am sure that their works will be studied by our children in school. They're very worthy of it. In any case, after reading their works, I am in a state of living, empathy for a long time. At this moment, I really want to share with someone my thoughts about the book, heroes, write essays. Anyway, all the stuff that a literature teacher squeezed out of us, like after studying Greene. But it wasn't getting any good. Then I found a solution to write what I feel, and felt only negativity and rejection.
But that's the word.
Although the film does not match the plot of “Ritual”, it fully corresponds to the spirit of the authors. It is their deep allegory, unobtrusiveness, delicacy. Everything. Including that such a touching love story is shown without the slightest deviation from chastity. Children can show boldly, and even necessarily. Of course, girls in the first place, boys may not scratch.
It is a pity that the film took the weakest thing, the simplest, perhaps just the most childish.
I dream to live to see the film adaptation of the Witch Age, Varana, Alena and aspirin. Everything there is a masterpiece, and there is no need to compose anything, everything is prepared.
Thank you to the creators for not disappointing.
I don’t want to get tired and continue in the same way.
Be with the one you love. Feel and trust your heart.
Despite many negative reviews, I decided to watch the picture. And you know, I really enjoyed it. I don’t know what to call a romantic love story. I don't really like banality. But I watched this movie to the end. Probably, the role was played by actor Matvey Lykov. With him I immediately moved away from the banal picture, plunged into something interesting, felt light. About Miroslava, or rather, the actress who played her. I'm not thrilled. There were a lot of moments where she played... Or rather, it was played. I really liked all the others. So for acting, I'll leave out the criticism. Although her playful cries sometimes cut the ear.
Musical accompaniment ...
Ooh. I'm very critical of music. But I liked it, it's breathtaking. However, I singled out for myself two songs “lullabies of silence” and “dragon song”.
Special effects! No questions asked. No more.
I especially liked the ending that I want to see in any movie. I don’t know what the authors of the novel “ritual” didn’t like, but to me, it was a decent ending. I may not have read the book.
"Man, dragon ..." I love you, whoever you are.
Surprisingly, even from this story, I learned my lesson. Whatever a person is, if you love deeply, you must transcend your principles and pride.
It is said that dragons find children in the sky.
- You don't know how to fly.
- When you love someone, you become the happiest person in the world, and you know what?
- What?
- Real wings. And you can fly.
- Really, really?
The truth is true.
When you love someone, you will do anything for them.
Total:
The movie is very interesting! I recommend it! This is the first time I’ve ever praised a Russian film like this! That's wow... Thank you to the directors and authors of the book for such a wonderful story! I wish there were more of them.
I didn’t read Ritual, I didn’t wait for the premiere in theaters, there were no high expectations from the film. Well, the disappointment was painless, and thanks for that.
Yes, in the total mass of Russian films of this format "He is a dragon" will take, of course, not the last place. After all, the picture is juicy, costumes, songs, the atmosphere in general. There's something catchy about it. But inside this beautiful loaf is raw and very mediocre.
I will not go into the discussion about the acting, the number of plot holes and the action (still claimed "fantasy"), since the film is not surprised by any of this. The level is expected to be weak, the film is designed for a loyal nostalgic viewer who simply missed fairy tales. It was bored, because the output turned out not so new story, rather a mix of old and beloved.
But for whom this story is unclear. The child gets bored with the heavy dialogues of the main couple of the film, and even an adult will not understand their motivation. Trying to make the characters complex, the creators simply filled them with contradictions that sometimes defy any logic. Miroslava behaves unconventionally abruptly and extremely unstable, she does not know what she wants, says one thing, does another, runs away, then calls ... knows how to wake dragons in people, in short. In the complete absence of villains in the film, the characters create problems for themselves, which then courageously overcome. For a couple whose actions and experiences you do not understand, it was uninteresting to watch, unfortunately, and the whole film is built around them on the foundation of an old story about a beauty and a monster.
The film is absolutely devoid of dynamics, it does not capture, does not carry anything new or instructive. He does not give any emotions, he does not want to reconsider. It's a pity.
After all, I will write a review, the film did not leave me indifferent.
Well, that's a very nice start. Very stylish picture. Perfect.
But we're not perfect. Alas. The selection of actors visually also pleased the look, not washed out, fresh faces. But they had problems with the game. The film is very uneven. Severe snowy beginning of the legend, and then paradise island. In general, not even this unevenness pricks the eyes. This is even an interesting move, because the picture of the island with an exotic flavor is also good. The whole impression of the film is immeasurably and irrevocably spoiled by the music and acting of the actors. Yeah, yeah. In that order. I almost understand why in a fantasy film with a bias in antiquity and folklore to insert first a blistering popsweet (so forgive me fans of this group and the band itself, maybe they are not so bad, but in relation to this film in general, this is what a cow saddle), and then in general the so-called vocals in modern fashion. This is me about that bleating (I will not apologize to anyone here, because this squalor is stylistically neither in the film nor separately digestible) in the lyrical at the place where the Dragon chases the girl away. Here for me with the same success could there and the song of the group “Leningrad” to insert, according to the feeling “to the place” would also be, well, it is relevant, I understand this was due to the choice of these inappropriate musical opuses. The second drawback is the “interracial” play of actors in the moment of just the same fastening love on the island – cardboard came out and somehow modern, as in a cheap series, I don’t believe in short, not interesting at all. They seem like good guys, but they were upset by this moment. In general, these two fat and nasty minuses broke the fairy tale! Hospodie, there is so much beautiful ethnic and folk music right now. On the wave of the series "Vikings" so it is generally already in the mass of popularity has gained. Well, I would put something like that in there and the film would not come off.
The most beautiful fairy tale could turn out, holistic, atmospheric. Because the story is really good. Simple, but by no means bad. Everything according to the canons - cruelty and love. But alas and ah. The middle of the film burned out due to the squalid selected soundtrack and so the game actors. The beginning and the end are beautiful. The final song isn’t so terrible, but it also modernizes and simplifies the film a bit. In general, the idea is good, the performance, as always in our cinema, is lame. The Dragon (when he’s not a guy with wings) is really cool. And the costume designer is a huge credit.
To sum up, this is still, in my opinion, the best fantasy film in our cinema. The rest of the disadvantages are much more.
Before you write a criticism or notice the shortcomings of the film, you need to know – and what rules the film “plays”. It is wrong to judge a light, fantasy tale by the demands of a serious dramatic film. You do not need to wait for the “tinsel for the eyes” of a complex plot with incredible twists. If you want real acting, full of emotional return – go to the theater or watch old movies.
The stated genre of the film “He the Dragon” is fantasy. Without prefixes - melodrama, action, adventure, etc. Just fantasy. What is fantasy in modern cinema? First of all, a great picture, well-made and verified shots, high-quality special effects. Next - an easy uncomplicated plot, pleasant actors, a dynamic sundrek. Is it all in the movie? Yeah. That's why I'm evaluating green.
The set tasks (set by the filmmakers for themselves) are fulfilled.
The main criteria by which sofa critics (I am one of its representatives) evaluate films are plot, visual and acting. We will not invent anything new, we will consider them.
Plot. Described many times, and shown in the trailer enough to imagine the future action without spoilers. The bride is abducted by a dragon, the groom vows revenge, eventually a famous geometric love figure. It's simple and simple. As it should be in a fairy tale.
Special effects and the whole visual. Very high quality. How the entourage corresponds to its reliable historical time does not matter. The picture creates the desired atmosphere, the mood of the film. That's the point.
Special effects, especially fiery, dragon effects, are not ashamed to show abroad, where everything has long been filmed on the green screen. As it was already written in one of the reviews for the film, it can be watched frame-by-frame. That is, just press the stop with each new look and get a wonderful, complete, rich picture.
Acting. Most of the claims are caused by acting. But I don't find it so disastrous. And, anticipating accusations of ignorance, cinematic omnivorousness, and in general in the teenage hormonal explosion, I will immediately say – I also see all the shortcomings, I appreciate high-quality films and mesmerizingly watch the play of masterful actors. Yes, and also, I am already thirtieth, so I do not belong to the crowd of gibbering girls of puberty age.
Why am I happy with acting? Well, if you are fair and look at the caste, you can see that exactly half of the main characters, namely Matvey Lykov, aka “He”, aka “Dragon”, he is the same half – not an actor at all. He's a model. What are the model requirements? Be able to stand beautifully, sit. Be able to take a winning angle. Be able to put yourself on camera. All of these “skills” Matvey Lykov performed.
The other half is Miroslava. Here we are dealing with an actress, at least a girl who received the appropriate education. Called a pot, get in the oven. Miroslava didn't want to get dirty. She gave a rather mediocre game, giving the audience only a hint of the character. Someone this hint was enough - hence the rave reviews, someone considered himself offended by the thrown bone, hence the devastating criticism. I am a calm person, therefore I accept Miroslava without explosions of indignation and aggression. The actress embodied a rather familiar type of “pampered prynzeski”, which is waiting for great love.
The secondary characters are revealed as much as they are given time. But they did great. A misguided groom is no better, but no worse than many others. Pope Prince - Stanislav Lyubshin - pleased. Thank you to the filmmakers for inviting this wonderful actor. I wish he'd had more time, okay.
Modern cinema is the product that is consumed. Reviews of the movie “He’s the Dragon”: 70% delight and 30% crushing criticism. That’s when it’s the opposite, then for sure, directors and writers will serve us a more thoughtful, filled product for lunch. In the meantime, we get what we get.
To be honest, I do not expect anything good from Russian cinema for a long time, but this work simply exceeds all expectations!!
It turned out to be a very beautiful story! The plot is simple, but how beautifully shot! Bravo to the creators! Many people compare the movie to Twilight, I really don’t understand why! Why did everyone forget the good old fairy tales of dragons, princesses and beautiful princes? And here is Twilight with their vampires, bored from life teenagers and lifeless grayness?!
"He is a dragon" - about duty, about love, about loyalty, valor! The film has a great atmosphere, the entourage of old Russia, costumes, rituals, customs! Everything is thought out to the smallest detail, you feel painstaking work on details and you can see that it is not made hastily.
Computer graphics in places lame, but only in places, in general looks decent and very colorful. Armand’s second friend needed to be drawn better as a character he is very interesting, but it seems that they did not consider it necessary to spend much effort on the development of his visualization.
I want to mention the music – the music is magical! And what a "lullaby" Zhenya Lubicz!!! She is the cherry on the cake, like the title song in Disney cartoons, which can be hummed endlessly!
Play actors: there are questions - in places played, in places indistinct. Immediately recall Soviet fairy tales, and Alenushki with Ivanushki with exaggerated emotions. In the very game of actors and in the dialogue flashes some uncertainty, angularity, perhaps because of inexperience, and perhaps so set the task himself the director. Personally, it did not stop me from enjoying the film, but more like a theatrical production.
I’ll bet 9, probably a little upfront, but I really have not seen good good good fairy tales in which there is no vulgarity and which are pleasant to watch. The film can be safely shown to children, it is bright and kind. I am very glad that this is the work of domestic cinema and with the Russian spirit.

P.S. In reviews write about the story of Dyachenko “Ritual”. The creators were rather inspired by this work and some general idea, and therefore had to indicate in the credits, so as not to be plagiarists, but in the film and prada there is almost nothing from the book, so do not expect that this is its adaptation, it is a completely different work based on motives. And thank God, because, as you know, a book is always better than a movie, the number of dissatisfied with the adaptation would be many times more.
On the wave of success of films for teenagers, the film company Basileus producer Timur Bekmambetov decided to occupy this profitable niche, being confident in success. Having created before the viewer a weak Slavic fantasy, twisting into a circle of not convincing love of the Princess, Miroslava to the Dragon Armand.
Taking as a basis the picture is a little familiar novel by the authors Sergey and Marina Dyachenko. The directors tore out of the original noteworthy local fantasy world, forgetting about the interrelationships of secondary characters turning them into lifeless scenery lost emotions.
Indar Dzhendubayev reproduces on the screen the relationship of Jutta to Arm-Ann surprisingly flat and devoid of the charm of the young not much naive love. Focusing on the visual component of the film to the detriment of the narrative. Offering the viewer a banal chamber conversational melodrama, for which Poezhaeva and Lykov are obviously not suitable. Thanks to the efforts of the operator Sergey Trofimov, the frame is filled with colorful light, although sometimes a persistent feeling of artificiality of what is happening on the screen is created.
It is strange how the authors of the original wife Dyachenko, being the scriptwriters of the project, apparently for the sake of commerce created something so lifeless and frankly boring.
To tell the truth of the film adaptation of literary works is difficult and there are mistakes at meters. When both the director and the screenwriter have at least a drop of talent, a bit of passion for the profession, then adaptation is not difficult. Sergey Gerasimov is a man of amazing talent, an example of his ability to professionally convey on the screen the basis of the work creating eternal and unique images of heroes.
Some people will consider this a nitpicking because the film is designed for teenage girls who, apparently, do not deserve serious and strong movies. However, this particular case is out of the ordinary even by the standards of terrible movie adaptations. This film tries to play on little girls inside women, manipulating the hot-buttoned Hollywood theme of feminism. Representing everything that the viewer has already seen in Twilight, the Hunger Games and the like.
Bekmambetov made a mistake, entrusting the work to a beginner who made a bet on computer special effects, shamefully covering up an obviously unsuitable scenario. Issuing the viewer in the cinema instead of a full picture a good pack of trailers for the film, which in itself is not uncommon.
He appears as a living proof that cinema as an art form has become a product of the economic industry, where creativity, as a rule, has no place.
Therefore, it is doubly painful to see how Russian cinema has reached the level when the target audience becomes the main characters of the film for the sake of commerce. And the saddest thing is that the sponsors of this permissiveness are ourselves.

To begin with, I, like many viewers, was disappointed with Russian cinema. But lately, more and more suitable films appear on the screens. "He's a dragon" is just one of them.
The obvious is the beauty of the film. Captivating from the first frame, a beautiful dragon in the snow, was especially surprised when she learned that one man had made it. Talent, in a word. The film is 90% computer graphics, but it looks natural and chic.
For me, the film opened in parts. At the beginning, everything is in gloomy colors, the faces of the brides, eyes filled with fear and horror, a terrible rite, a dragon song (this is generally a separate topic, very often I listen to it, because it catches), a dragonfighter (the embodiment of the ancient Russian fearless hero). And although in Russia there were no specific descriptions of such rites (whether they were at all still a question), but everything was done so that you believe that it was. Miroslava is a young, spoiled princess who has no idea about love, and does not seem to understand that she is getting married. Igor is the son of a dragonfighter, handsome, self-confident. Despite the fact that the wedding is a holiday, the tone does not change much, fun, but there is a feeling of gloom of doubt and coldness.
The first minutes on the island also show fear, darkness and horror. But what a change on the second day. The sun, the feeling of warmth and security, as if you get into a fairy tale. arrangement of life, under a song corresponding to this mood. Paradise Island, you can't say otherwise. And in the end, where the heroine really realizes where her home is and what her heart has chosen. And we see her already grown up, with concepts in her head. With an understanding of what love, friendship, trust, happiness are.
I would like to note the musical accompaniment of the film (especially the song to which Armand showed the wind to Mira), very atmospheric. The costumes and decorations were also at the top. The transformation of Armand into a dragon looked so amazing that it is impossible to take your eyes off.
The only drawback, in my opinion, is that such films are more designed for a female audience. Few men will be thrilled with a film riddled with touching scenes about love and feelings. Although here it is worth noting that in the dialogues there is not a lot of pink pathos, sweet speeches, etc. On the contrary, everything said sounds sincere and is supported by the emotional play of the actors.
The enchanting film envelops the viewer from the very first minutes, making you feel all the smells, all the sensations and emotions yourself, without any 100500 De. “He-dragon” is stylish, fashionable, youthful ... fabulous, beautiful ...
The plot, as already clear from the description of the film, is a love story of a girl and a dragon, who kidnapped her because of the accidental ritual to call a dragon. Yes, yes, it sounds like the plot of a third-rate horror movie or the same "quality" drama. However, in fact, such a simple plot turned into a beautiful story with its own characteristics. Imagine a fog in the fog of an island where there are caves, a waterfall and a bright sun. Imagine a fabulous Russia, again foggy, a girl with a beautiful braid in a wedding robe decorated with a mountain... Imagine the kiss of this girl and a handsome guy with incredible eyes, this kiss will inevitably turn him into a dragon. Feel the wind around you, catch it by the tail, where it's going? Where? Do you remember what brings you joy? Any change? Smile and be glad that these little things exist in your life, because they make you who you are.
And now, having felt this fabulous atmosphere in and around you, turn on “He’s a dragon and enjoy.”
Of course, I put the film
It doesn't matter who you are.
If you love, you love with everything that is in a person.
So is Miroslava. I was going to marry one, and the other turned up. And not just a man, but an unknown animal in combination.
The plot is banal, but unfolded it beautifully. It would seem that we, women, when we fall in love only this and do: we think that the object of adoration should be “saved”. And so we go to "save: from the inner torments, from the outer witches, from all the evil of the present." Some succeed, some fail. Miroslava succeeded.
The other question is that the guys are overplaying is creepy. Especially the Armand character. They're overplaying their voices. People work well, believe them or you want to believe them.
The quality of creation is felt, not in vain in the final credits, first, instead of the director-director (as is customary), the producer - Timur Bekmambetov is presented. The hand of the master is felt and deserved. Not without too much pathos, but he can. Deserved.
"Man, dragon - I love you, whoever you are."
Watch the movie correctly.
“Hey, it’s not the dust on the forest road.”
Don't worry, don't worry, girl.
Don't be a sorcerer.
Turn away, don't look -
A snake and a snake get married. "
(c) Mill - Bride of the Belt
The beginning of the film was very impressive, even. The history of sacrifice fascinated with its terrible reality, Slavic life pleased the eye (for some time), bright red berries of ash in the snow attracted the eye. It was a beautiful picture and I wanted to see it forever. Until... the heroes opened their mouths and rushed Russian-court jargon from the screen. And the mountain was darkened, and I wanted to see beautiful virgins and white-haired princes.
Then more. The picture is all more beautiful - the dragon's lair, a beautiful young man with a burning eye, oceans, palm trees (palms?!) and other wonders. If this bright music video was not accompanied by helpless dialogue, there would be no price for it. But we didn't get that kind of happiness. Because Twilight overseas had to answer.
Princess Miroslava is getting ready to marry Igor, the best warrior. But the moment she swims on a boat to her named kidnaps her monster, unprecedented. Brings to its lair somewhere in the middle between Antarctica and Africa. And then it turns out that the monster is not terrible at all, but on the contrary, beautiful to the point of impossibility. It is addressed to a young man named Armand (seriously French?).
What happened next, you can easily imagine if you are familiar with the fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast” or, at worst, with the film “Twilight”.
Feelings after watching ... indescribable. Terrible dialogue, illogical action, clumsy play of actors kill the film. The picture is beautiful.
P. S. That would be a clip, yes to the "Bride of the rod." How nice it would be...
Movies like “He’s a Dragon” are not my favorite genre. And before watching it, I was extremely skeptical, not being a fan of Twilight, Fifty Shades of Grey and other melodramas where attractive young men embody certain ladies' fantasies. To my surprise, the picture turned out to be quite decent - it is undoubtedly a melodrama, but I was not drawn to sleep in the first ten minutes.
The action takes place in a world whose style can be described as Slavic fantasy, and that in itself is interesting. Since the infamous "Volkodava" I don't remember anything like that. Moreover, progress over ten years is obvious – the Slavic entourage of the Dragon looks much more convincing.
In general, the visual component of the “Dragon” at the height is a beautiful picture, without any discounts on what is domestic. Very well made the dragon itself, impressive fantasy locations, the gift that most of the action is limited to a single island, even the Rapid, to which the director has a clear weakness, does not look. The undoubted merits include the soundtrack - beautiful.
Beautiful in "Dragon" and actors. Maria Poezhaeva from the “Correction Class” very convincingly shows the Stockholm syndrome. Against its background, it seems that the main character Matvey Lykov looks quite wooden, although what exactly he causes the delight of the ladies is quite clear. In the second roles there are a very Slavic kind of Peter Romanov and the beautiful Ieva Andreevei, there is the English teacher from “The Good Boy”.
That is, everything seems to be fine, but everything, as usual, rests on the plot. In principle, it is not bad for melodrama, but the events for the almost two-hour film are desperately lacking. And it seems to me that even sincere fans of Matvey Lykov will get bored at some point.
I will not advise “He is a dragon” to all fans of fiction and fantasy, I will not call it a great work either, and yet there is something in it – in addition to the torso of actor Lykov.
He's a dragon.
“Did I promise not to run away? This is my legal right...
In the description for the film it is written that they were filmed based on the book by Maria and Sergey Dyachenko “Ritual”. I really liked the film - the beauty and soundtrack - it is really beautiful - actors, graphics, costumes, and the story itself is very exciting - gentle, singing, fabulous, a little scary, like all legends about dragons - and at the same time real and full of gentle sadness and light.
And I will say right away, this is almost the first time I liked the film a lot more than the book - perhaps the wife of Dyachenko is simply not my authors, but the film came out much more interesting and sonorous than the original source.
A good selection of actors, even minor characters. But of course, the main couple is just getting into the image. I didn’t always like the way actress Maria Poezhaeva says, I think sometimes she came out too modern.
And if the “Ritual” describes a fictional kingdom, then in the film we are shown a Slavic fairy tale about queens and dragons, about wind and laughter.
“What do you think poetry is? This is something that you can not see, you can only feel ..." is a quote, but the poems and songs used in the film are wonderful, melodious, touch the soul.
One of those films that I would advise romantic natures, those who love good fairy tales, those who believe in the power of love, those who still want to fly.
P.S. usually write reviews on the film adaptation, only after reading the book, so the review was written much later, because I could not sit down to read.

This film is beautiful in the most literal sense of the word. Not in the sense that he is good (although he is very good), but in the sense that he is insanely beautiful. Everything is beautiful in it: graphics, plot, dialogue, music, landscapes, finally, actors. The plot refers to the classic story of a beauty with Stockholm syndrome and a monster who becomes a prince. I am surprised that in Russia the film showed such a miserable fee, especially considering that one of the producers was none other than Timur Bekmambetov. I’m not surprised that it was successful in China. By the way, they say that the sequel will be shot in collaboration with the Chinese, it should be curious.
The whole movie was breathtaking for me, so beautiful, I repeat. Just incredibly beautiful, I would even say monstrously beautiful. I fell in love with this movie at first sight. Maybe he's a little frivolous, but you don't think about it.
Often beauty is sacrificed to humor, here is another case: there is almost no humor, except for a couple of funny gags, and a slightly comical image of an incomprehensible animal. Also, by the way, a classic character like a cricket in Mulan or weasel in the Snow Queen.
I highly recommend the film to all lovers of beauty.

Paul-ball shot for a very gross sin in the editing, where Mira stands against the background of the sail, and around her halo. It really spoiled the impression of a quality movie.
