Mario's parents see him as a helper, as bad an adult and gray as they are. He dropped out of school. Of course not of his own accord. But are parents so indifferent to the fate of the child? Seeing their own bad experience, nothing makes them think. But they forgot he was just a kid. Mario's mother says, "Something Jorgelin sticks to Mario." She sees every day a sad and introverted child who is just doing errands, and then a cheerful little girl appears and Mario finds a girlfriend. It seems like happiness! But that tells her she's distracting him from "more important things." The same thoughts can be traced to the girl’s father: “Take this off!” the father says as all the children dressed up for the carnival. This is not a city, there are different orders and other concepts.
Most striking of all is Mario’s mother, who is afraid to disturb the doctor about Mario. The society of stronger, more courageous, more successful people crushed her, and in such a corner that even caring for their own child can not overcome it.
The Mario family does not have special wealth, as such, and the family is not, all dull and do not communicate a drop in heart. There's only work around, and they pretend it's more important than life. Mario’s mother immerses herself in this work, forgetting to take the child to the doctor, she does not even open the folder with tests, because she has “things up to her throat” in the fields. But what if she doesn’t care about her own child?
The film's turning point is when her mother learns the truth about Mario. She immediately says, “What will I tell my husband?” Excuse me? Husband? Why doesn’t she think about what to say to her child? She is again worried about the fields with gardens, because the assistant grew up. She is not in a hurry to take Mario to perform the operation.
Then the father beats Mario to the blood. What is your fault for being born this way?
At the end of the film, there is only one wish: let Mario run away, then he probably still has a chance for a better life. Probably, then he will not be doomed to work in the fields for the rest of his life and consider it right, neglecting relations with loved ones (since this is the example that was laid for him since childhood - the gap between all family members).
The bright ray of this film is the little girl Jorgelina, who always felt Mario's emotions and helped him cope with the shyness. If it weren’t for her, Mario wouldn’t have had a chance to change.
There are three types of films that are watched: instructors or for entertainment, or those in which there are both. There is neither one nor the other nor the third.
They wanted to make the film realistic and teach life, mere mortals. What happened? Poor parody. The shooting is terrible, the characters are boring. Jorgelin's most normal character. There is an idea, but it is neither fully disclosed, it is not disclosed at all. Although there is drama in the genres, I do not find anything dramatic there. Boring and protracted.
If you do not want to spend time and do not want to spend it to your own pleasure, look, of course.
The plot of the film is quite simple, but in this film it is beautiful in its simplicity. There's nothing superfluous about it. Landscapes, musical accompaniment best convey the atmosphere of calm and tranquility shown in the film.
I want to mention the horses, they are beautiful. In their grace, ease, it is impossible not to fall in love.
Now for the main characters. I want to pay attention to Jorgelin. The girl is very intelligent, developed, sincerely disposed towards herself. To the secret that she learned about Mario, treated with understanding, did not show the slightest surprise, reacted calmly. For this, she has a special thank you. Mario himself is a strong man, withstands many things: hard work, the ridicule of grown guys, beatings from his father. It is difficult for him, but he does not show his weakness and in this he is partly helped by the support of Horchelina. The friendship of these heroes is shown as something intimate, something you are afraid to touch and invade.
And if you think about it, how many people like Joelina? The ones who treat people who are different from ordinary people??? I think there are very few. In today’s society, people in most cases are angry, aggressive, ridicule human deviations, any body defects. And that's very sad. No one is immune from this. It is necessary to support such “special” people, and not to humiliate them.
Thanks for the film, I recommend watching it. It allows you to think and rethink many aspects of human life.
' Last Summer in Boyte' is a dramatic pastoral about being ' blind' - or rather, ' blind' - adults. But above all, a story of friendship, naivety and faith. The story of the world, which is called childhood, in which there is no bias towards gender difference, but there are just friends, and which begins to collapse when little Horchelina first opens a textbook on gynecology, & #39; borrowed' from her father (doctor); for the first time feels the alienation of her older sister and age distance, the symbols of which are - funny and banal - bras, going to the movies with guys and the gradual transformation of her sister into a woman, to whom little Horchelina grow and grow. This is a film about intimacy, growing up and the inability to be silent.
I saw the trailer and thought that Julia Solomonoff decided to shoot a fantastic story about a boy angel who pulls his wings to keep the secret of his unearthly origin from others. But it was more realistic.
The division into men and women with different logics, psychology, anatomical details is replaced here by the division of the elementary, devoid of any bias: those who need help and those who can help.
Therefore, Jorgelina breaks the main childhood vow ' I won't tell anyone' and shares with her father. . . ' for from the excess of the heart speak the mouth' (Bible, New Testament, "The Gospel of Luke"). Dad's a doctor. Father can help Mario. The logic of thought. Logic of feelings. A girl for whom there were no previously intimate issues, gender problems, etc., is faced with the reaction of the adult world. With cruelty, misunderstanding, 'blindness' and refusal to believe.
The last frame and Jorge, in a white dress, like her sister, is no longer a small person, but a person who crossed the brood of childhood and received the first memory file in a folder under the stamp 'Intimate' With the accumulation of such files, children get older.
P.S. According to one version, the name ' Mario' goes back to 'mar' - translated from Sanskrit means ' to die'. 39; Will Mario, will there be a new psychology, an emotional shell, a new person, or will he remain the same, formulated his habit of living? There's time to think before summer.
A wonderful film from the Argentine director Julia Solomonoff, about which I could not find any information.
Minor at first glance, the film about a girl spending summer on a farm suddenly turns into a quiet drama.
Something like the old tapes of Solovyov, but the films about puberty in his performance are more elegant, beautiful, veiled. There's no beauty here. The puberty of girls is both mystery and drama, detachment and the desire to learn more about themselves.
Very nice main character Jorgelin with her beyond her years of courage and sensitivity to other people's problems. Mario, a teenager with a secret that will bring him lifelong torment. Parents. Who have real friends, who have almost enemies who do not want to notice the problems of their own child. Let’s say I wanted to strangle this German gaucho Schneider for his treatment of a sick son.
There's a little hidden touch there. The sins of fathers. The sins of those who once fled from Germany to the remote Argentine provinces sooner or later fall on their children, grandchildren.
Strong little heroes face to face with life. You feel sorry for them and admire them.
The music of the film is a red-hot sun, the chirping of grasshoppers, the creaking of swings and the bruising of guitar strings.
I found this movie based on the fact that the co-producers of this picture are the Almodovar brothers, which in principle attracts and beckons. And, you know, I am pleasantly surprised by the creation of Julia Solomonoff’s “Last Summer in Boyte”, and I really enjoyed such a simple and pleasant Latin cinema.
Wonderful shots throughout the picture, the musical accompaniment is not far behind, it just divinely and delightfully complements the picture, plus a small, sincere and sensitive girl named Jorgelina (Guadalupe Alonso, certainly a future bright movie star).
The story seems to be smooth, no one is in a hurry, not in a hurry, but nevertheless there is a mystery, a mystery, a small secret, if you will, that attracts the little princess and she wants to reveal it.
You know, it's simple. That the soul disturbs and stirs the heart, evoking sincere feelings, is the present, leading and giving us food for our development.
I sincerely want such a movie to continue to shoot and continue to watch, because often simple, good films do not reach us.
