Perhaps you will have to start the review with the minuses, because they catch the eye, at the very beginning of the series. And the first drawback was casting. I don’t know for what merit these people got the main roles. Why did Snow White become a brunette, albeit a pleasant appearance? Why is the Prince Charming, being in the first season of the series, in far from the most successful form, still not brilliant and constantly mistaken, and frankly behaves not like a man? Why is the image of Belle in all criteria does not correspond to its fairy-tale ideal? In general, the selection of actors was disappointing.
So, continuing the theme of the main characters, I want to linger a little on them. The main character was chosen very well, as well as her son. In general, finding the best candidates for these roles would be difficult. You get used to the prince with Snow White over time, even if at first they seem the strangest choice for a fairy tale. With the exception of the Beautiful, all other male heroes have their own unique charisma and attract a lot of attention. And it doesn't matter whether it's a dwarf, perfectly accustomed to the role or the Dark Magician Rumplestiltskin or Buratino, Captain Hook or the Evil King. All male roles, if not immediately, then over time show great. The majority of women are in trouble. With the exception of Emma, I can only really praise the Fairy Godmother and Mulan, who are “From and Do” in their places.
The manner of shooting is very standard, moreover, in the series it is extremely rare to see an unusual approximation or non-standard camera tilt. Everything, always standard, as if by instruction. What can't be said about events. In each series, the events partially take place in a fairytale world (in the present or past tense) and parallel the narrative from Storybrooke, a town in our modern world. Probably for the series this is a non-standard way of ordering events, because in most series, everything happens either here and now, or in the memories of the characters, and here absolutely in each series, events affect two times or two completely different places.
At one time, I started watching the show because of an actress I knew as Dr. Cameron (Dr. House character), namely Jennifer Morrison. When the first rumors surfaced that she had been given the lead role in the new series, I knew immediately that I would watch it regardless of genre, plot or duration. I really liked her in every sense of the word. And now, having seen the middle of the second season, I am sure that I am watching this series for good reason.
Perhaps everyone had a favorite fairy tale and we all once asked “Mom, tell me another story” or “Grandma, please read me.” And so, please, I show my mother this series and it is so addictive that she agrees to watch each new episode with subtitles, so as not to wait so long for the translation!
If you still believe in magic, if you want to remember how it was in childhood and see the series, where all your favorite fairy-tale characters will be collected, be sure to find time for Once Upon a Time, because this is an amazing world where good will always win, because good characters are collected from dozens of different fairy tales and with each series they become more and more!

Once Upon a Time (you can find many other titles depending on the translation) is not considered a supernova event in the film industry. There are many films on the screens, built on the principle of transferring characters and storylines of famous fairy tales in our time, especially rich in such works in 2011 (for example, “Red Riding Hood” with A. Saifred in the title role, the film “The Brothers Grimm”, etc.).
It should be noted that the picture “Once” differs from similar to it by the absence of ambiguous scenes and dialogues, bloodlust and ridiculous jokes “below the belt”. It can be attributed to the selection of films for family viewing, which are considered “golden”, for example, the film “The Tenth Kingdom”. This film is intended for an audience of all ages.
It’s nice to see your favorite actors on the screen, especially if it’s difficult to recognize them in makeup, but this is thanks not to the actors as the authors of the script.
When you watch the movie, you feel like you’ve seen something like this. This is due to the traditionally built storyline.
To be honest, I was only enough for a few episodes, I think it’s age, I would really like to stumble upon this series 8-10 years ago, then he certainly entered my favorite, and so on.

Everything, as in life - the evil queen (rock of events) imposes on the heroes of fairy tales (Earthlings, city dwellers) curse (decoding is not required) - forgetting. The former heroes of fairy tales turned out to be in the present time - the townspeople have forgotten who they are and who they are to each other. So, the separated prince and princess are actually strangers to each other - he is married to an unloved woman, she is a single school teacher. Red Riding Hood is a waitress in a small cafe, a hunter is a sheriff, a lumberjack is a loan shark, a fairy is a mother abbot, an evil witch herself is a measure of the city, and many more interesting things. The task of residents to remember, and find happiness, not without a savior and a magic book, as usual.
The setup of karma (I know) is that we have really forgotten our debts and agreements with each other, refuse to give and love, succumb to fears and our own complexes, and all meetings between us are gifts of fate we bury deeply and rush away. On the fingers it looks like this: you betrayed me in the past, I betray you in the present, we meet again in the future, in order to forgive each other, while you betray me again in the future, (well, I guess I forgive, let go and complete the circle of this karma).
The first season is exciting - fairy tale, reincarnation, magic, magic, light and dark forces, human capabilities and, of course, love itself in one picture. Some of the actors are especially fabulously accustomed to the role, the handsome prince and really sharming, and the evil queen, having once a gentle and bright soul, convinces to respect and not lose interest in her. I watch the second season now, already distracted, with decent breaks, still the same line, a fabulous-logical continuation, but in any case I will watch - colorfully, promises to devote to secrecy.
The choice of "your hero" is, a range of feelings, a dynamically developing plot - if you still have a tender feeling for fairy tales - you come here. Be in joy and love is the gift of freedom.

Before I write a review, I will tell you about its meaning. There are several reasons why I write reviews on a film search: there are no reviews, but I want to recommend a film; I do not have the strength to tolerate the admiration of a film / series alone, I want to share it with the world; I dispel other reviews, I want to write “the only correct and most useful”. This is the last case. Quite often, and with this series this is exactly the case, movies are reviewed - good and bad. But both types do not come close to understanding the film. There are more good ones, but they are all empty – a retelling of the plot (which I think is just the highest degree of idiocy, sorry) and a few paragraphs about what wonderful (or not so) actors and characters are. Negative reviews appear in response to positive reviews, they say that everyone thinks this way, and I see a lot of shortcomings here, this is not genius, etc. And then I decided to write a smart positive review. Now we can get to work.
A friend planted it. When I heard her story description, I wasn’t thrilled. It was too much like the Tenth Kingdom, and I was afraid of some banalism. But she said, "There's a ... Rumplestiltskin! No, no, no, look at that!! Okay, I said, and after she left, I watched the show for the rest of the day in two. I like it. The plot looks a bit banal, but it was well played. Personally, I was interested in watching not because of the desire to understand how it will end, but because of the interesting stories about the characters. Well, such stories are generally my weakness, I like when a character is given a lot of screen time.
So, stories. Of course, it was much more interesting to follow the stories of secondary characters, the main ones are always too many. At the heart of each such series is, of course, a fairy tale. Red Riding Hood, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, etc. All of them in real life turned into a stamp thanks to the activities of the Disney studio. By the way, the screenwriters referred to Disney cartoons when creating the appearances of the characters. But I will talk about this later in connection with another fact. All stories became a stamp, and the series destroyed them. It turned out very clever sometimes stories. Smart in terms of their symbolism. I will take the Red Riding Hood for a closer look. According to the fairy tale, she is a victim, a kind, naive girl who was easily deceived. It's not like that here. I don't want to spoil it, but she's not a meek doe here. Two. Few people know about the original version of this story. Initially, the wolf pretended to be a grandmother to get the girl to go to bed with him, then he raped her and ate her. And morally, don't talk to strangers or anything. In the series, the hat is a kind of seductress, which I consider a reference to this version of the fairy tale. Well, about the little things like the fact that she sells "cakes" in the inn "grandmother" is not even worth talking about. My point is this: the creators worked hard to create images of heroes and reveal their stories. This is the main bonus of the series, I liked it the most. Many symbolic hints at the details of the fairy tale. I love small, meaningless details.
The second bonus of the film, or Rumplestiltskin. No, well, as a member of the fairer sex, I just can't ignore him. I don’t have much attachment to actors, I only had two that I could call my favorites. And now their modest number joined the delightful Carlisle. I just don't know how to not fall in love with him. He's a wonderful actor, as you can see from the way he puts three different images in different ways. And yes, it’s an achievement because not everyone can. Besides, the character is interesting and ambiguous. And yes! The fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast has always been my favorite, and this is the option.
Three plus the movie. Still, there are surprises and interesting plot twists. I'm poresonating a little again. In my opinion, there are three scenarios. The first is when you know from the beginning how it will end. It often doesn't work. The second (good for a single movie) is that when you don’t know how it ends, you get an ending that exceeds your expectations. It’s a good option, but it doesn’t work on TV shows, as I’ve already learned: it’s boring too much and frequent tension. The third option (which was implemented here, it is also the most difficult) when you do not know how it will end, but a few minutes / seconds before the disclosure of the secret you guess. And somehow the writer plays with your mind so much that you begin to rejoice at the fact that “you guessed it yourself” before you said it. It's a Cunning Walk that is very good at chaining to a chair. You feel positive emotions and want to watch the series further.
Cons. It's not a genius series, so there are downsides here. I do not know how with the illogicality that other comrades note in their reviews, I do not like to find fault with the little things. There was no logic, thank you. I'm more concerned about actors. Not all of them are so good. I would make Regina Snow White. Well, do what you want with me, but she doesn't look like an evil queen. He walks a little hunched, there is no steel and hatred in his eyes. But the kind and sweet Regina is very believable, much better than the acting Snow White. Some of the other heroes are weak too. But the beautiful Rumple, the beautiful Cap, Pinocchio eclipsed the rest. Thank you again for that.
Thus, there are pros: the symbolism-filled shifted fairy tales, Rumplestiltskin and Cunning Move, and cons: weak actors. I would recommend that those who do not have snobbery look for “illogicalities” and other shortcomings. There are other advantages, not the plot.

P.S. Oh yes, there is an interesting idea that the characters have forgotten the real fairy-tale world and live in ours. Well, it may appeal to a certain circle of people and will serve as an additional attraction for them, but it does not hit my heart, I have a few other beliefs.
P.P.S. I have already sent a review and it has even been published, and then it turned out that I left one promise unfulfilled. About Disney and references to him. Here people resented the fact that Alice in Wonderland is not associated with other fairy tales, etc. So, there is a common, this is Disney. The same Alice was filmed in Disney, Pinocchio too, and Mulan. And all the images were made with an orientation to these cartoons, and not just like that. I hope this review will be replaced by this one. This is a big point, and another plus of the series. Thanks.
I cannot describe the emotions that overwhelm me while writing this review - I am really happy that Season 2 of Once Upon a Time has finally started.
The series “Once Upon a Time” is a breath of fresh air in the modern film industry: there is nothing pompous, inappropriate and even more predictable in it. This is a combination of amazingly selected actors, stunning graphics and exciting plot. Most modern TV shows get bored very quickly, sometimes after a resounding success they cease to be interesting, and season 2 is not as good as the first. "Once Upon a Time" is not a threat. From the beginning of the series to the end, you are waiting for what awaits at the end of the series, and we must admit that the end of any series is always enchanting. After watching a week, your thoughts are not occupied with work or study, but with what will happen to the residents of Storibrook / Mysterious Forest, and such series are really worth watching.
As I said earlier, the actors are really amazing. I could not imagine a modern Snow White in the role of anyone other than Jennifer Goodwin. She is very nice, but at the same time there is a rod in her face - she does not give in to difficulties and is ready to go to the end, which can not be said about Mary Margaret (this character makes me sad). She has a wonderful smile - if she played in a Disney cartoon, definitely, I would believe that this is Princess Snow White.
But what Snow White without Prince Charming is perfect for Jeniffer Goodwin. They look great together, however, at first it is noticeable that Jeniffer is older than Joshua, but all this pales against the background of the huge talent of both actors. Both have appeared in a large number of films and have played different characters everywhere. Because of my boundless love for the series, it’s definitely the best role they’ve played.
Jeniffer Morrison She didn't really impress me. She really has the talent of an actress, and this role is her and nobody else. But the actress did not like me from the very beginning, I do not feel any love for her and do not worry about the future of her character in the series, as I worry about Snow White and Prince. Maybe during the second season those feelings will change.
The one I wanted to leave for last is Lana Parilla. Regina is my favorite character...because she's a villain. I learned from my own experience that playing villains is much harder than princesses or fairy godmothers. Villains aren’t necessarily people who were born that way, and 90 percent of the time, circumstances made them change. To play such a character, it is necessary to understand his psychology, how he came to such a life, to show him the bad and undoubtedly good sides that every person has. Lana did it – despite the fact that she uses magic to harm people, she loves the adopted boy Henry boundlessly, and already proves that she was not always an evil witch. Somewhere inside her hides a woman who still can’t come to terms with the fact that her mother killed the person she loved and made her so. In my opinion, deep down she hates herself, but there is no person who would love her and help her to change – to open up again. Her fate is of the greatest interest to me - I want to believe that Good in Regina will defeat Evil and she will become a good person again.
The other characters are also interesting: everyone has their own destiny, which is interesting in its own way. It is worth noting that a very unusual interpretation of fairy tales that everyone knows and loves: Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, etc. But this is why the series is interesting - there is no tired "Lived happily ever after" - in real life this does not happen, but this does not mean that there is no kindness, love and sympathy in it. All heroes eventually find their way, by trial and error.
I will devote a separate place to music and graphics - only for them it is worth watching Once Upon a Time. I was not interested in where the series was shot, but the place is amazing - the atmosphere of a half-tale / semi-real world is transmitted as best as possible. Together with wonderful music, sitting at home in front of a laptop, you transfer to the Mysterious Forest or Storybrooke and experience all the events together with the characters.
I don’t want to put a mark on this show – there are no boundaries to it and 10 out of 10 is not the mark it deserves. Why put a mark when it is clear from my review how much I love Once Upon a Time?!
It always is. People will always tell you who you are. And you have to put them in their place. Say, "No, that's who I am." Do you want people to look at you differently? Make them. And if you want to change something, you must dare and change everything yourself, because fairy godparents are not found in this world.
You know what the problem with this world is? Everyone wants a magical solution to their problems, and everyone refuses to believe in magic.
In fact, the series shook with the first series, as good series with a similar theme has not been filmed for a long time, the last such project in my memory is the “tenth kingdom”. With great skepticism, I began watching the first episode, expecting the series to fall short of my expectations. But I got hooked right after watching the first series.
Everything is filmed perfectly that even you think, “I am not an enchanted hero from a fairy tale?”
I also liked the short stories from everyone’s past life. I would like to emphasize the work of the actors, who I believe gave their best, and conveyed this fabulous atmosphere.
And most importantly, here they showed that even the villain of the Queen, has a vulnerable heart, as well as each of us, showed that, no matter how much the Queen did harm to Snow White, she is always ready to forgive, this is exactly what many people lack, this series teaches kindness.
Well, now we're going to wait for season two, expecting more intrigue, magic, and the kindness that was shown to us in season one.

After watching the first season of this series, I was left with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I’m looking forward to the second season because the plot is very intrigued, but on the other hand, something was wrong. What is it?
Plot. In general, the plot is very intriguing, after viewing there are many questions without answers, but there are a lot of shortcomings, for example, temporary. First of all, they lived for 28 years, lived, did not age, and suddenly Cinderella gave birth, in fact, after 28 years. Delusions. The Prince Charming has been in a coma for 28 years. The inconsistency is out. And the very beginning of the series (the first 4 episodes) seemed too long, and I watched them with difficulty flipping through some moments. Then the process went easier, and even with interest.
Heroes. I don't know, but in my opinion, only the Evil Queen (Regina) fits in. The other actors are weak. That Snow White, that Prince Charming somewhat do not reach this role purely externally, although the performance of the actors in general is quite good. And the main character Emma is just a pretty girl. Although I would like to see a much more charismatic and emotional character in her place.
As a result, the series is very beautiful in appearance, the costumes are amazing! But unfortunately, in some places it is illogical plot, although I think it is worth watching, especially for fans of modern fairy-tale adaptations that have become so popular recently.
What is the problem with you skeptics? Everyone wants a miraculous solution, but everyone refuses to believe in a miracle.
Another fantastic. Another attempt to change the topic. A series I will forget about the next day.
With that in mind, I think a lot of people have started or are just about to start watching the first episode of Once Upon a Time. Maybe to some extent this is the right opinion. Yeah, I guess the story isn't new. Now it is difficult to surprise the viewer.
But this series will surprise you, I assure you! You will not forget it or confuse it with another.
A huge number of colorful characters, intricate fairy tales revealed in each series - all this you will find here. Do you think the Evil Queen is obsessed with her appearance and Snow White is innocent of anything? You think you know everything about Red Riding Hood and Pinokyo? You think Cinderella was helped by a good fairy godmother, and Belle is in love with a monster, which is actually a beautiful prince? I will hurry to convince you, everything is much more complicated and interesting than you think!
Try to unravel the secrets of the strange city of Storybrooke with the main character Emma and her son Henry! Immerse yourself in a dangerous world of magic, in which good does not always win, “the end” does not mean “happily ever after”, and you sympathize with bad characters more often than good ones.
10 out of 10
And remember: the main thing is to believe in fairy tales. Without it, the world becomes gray.
The Evil Queen cast a curse on all fairy tale characters. They are transported to the modern world and have forgotten who they really are. Regina is the only one who knows the truth. She is raising her adopted son Henry, whose mother is Snow White's daughter. The boy is looking for Emma and comes with her to the town of Storybrooke to break the spell.
The storyline is divided into two parts:
(1) Prehistory of fabulous characters;
2 What happens to the heroes of fairy tales in the modern world.
It's very interesting to watch. It reminds me of a lot of very good movies and TV shows. (The Tenth Kingdom, Journey of the Unicorn, Fairyland, etc.)
Characters
Snow White (Mary Margaret Blanchard) is very sweet, brave, smart, kind. But there is one “but”, Snow White was considered the most beautiful in the world, and in the series she is just cute and nothing more. With short hair (modern world) she is much better than with long (fairy world), because the long hair of Snow White is always some shaggy (even at a wedding).
Prince Charming (David Nolan) is a completely unsympathetic and uncharming character. And if Prince is decent and courageous in his qualities at least somehow redeemed these shortcomings, then Nolan is a real bastard. David is constantly torturing himself, Mary Margaret, and his wife. Everybody! I had a great deal of contempt for him, and I think Mary Margaret and Catherine deserve better.
The Evil Queen (Regina Mills) is a chic woman with a chic sense of style. At first, it was a desire to enter the screen and strangle her, but then learning what motivated the Queen in her hatred for Snow White begins to sympathize with her. The reasons are absolutely legitimate.
Rumplestiltskin (Mr. Gold) is a cool character, a chic actor. Sometimes you want to strangle him, sometimes you sympathize with him, sometimes you laugh at him. No complaints.
Red Riding Hood (Ruby) - without conditionally the most beautiful character of all. The creators of the film “Red Riding Hood” (2011) would learn from this series how to create a truly original version of the famous fairy tale.
Belle - apparently the creators and actress, and outfits, and the plot completely copied from the Disney cartoon, but this is only a plus. The actress playing Belle is very cute, but in the last series makeup artists made her (or rather with her hair) do not understand what.
I can't say much about Emma.
The series also features gnomes as tall as Snow White, Grandma with a crossbow, Mad Hatter with hairstyle a la Edward Cullen, etc.
Plot blunder
In Episode 1, Snow White tells Prince that the Evil Queen poisoned her because she thought she was more beautiful. But in the course of the action it turns out that Regina does not care deeply about the question “Who is more beautiful than everyone in the world?” and that she poisoned the girl for a completely different reason.
Romance
Maybe it’s just a matter of taste, or maybe the creators deliberately did so, but the most touching romantic lines are not at all in the central characters (Prince Beautiful and Snow White), but in the secondary ones (Rumpelstiltskin and Belle, Vorchun and Nova). Over the 12th and 14th series I cried, although usually romantic lines touch me to tears very rarely.
Summary
A wonderful, despite all the shortcomings, series for the whole family.

Fairy tales are something we have been used to since early childhood! Each of the magical stories taught us something new, good, and sometimes sublime. Thanks to fairy tales, we learned to believe in miracles and love.
And, here, once again, we are faced with a distorted fairy tale, or rather with a whole set of fairy tales interpreted in a modern way. Despite the striking parody, this wonderful story is not without fabulous meaning. Such familiar names as “Snow White”, “Cinderella” and many others have acquired completely new, perhaps even unexpected shapes in this series.
This is one of the few films that can not only please the child, but also interest an adult.
I think the actors, the quality of the shooting and special effects should not focus the slightest attention. It's a fairy tale! In fairy tales, a happy ending is important.
But who knows what the end of this story will be.
10 out of 10
I started watching this series because the idea was very interesting. Indeed, what a fertile ground for drawing parallels between fairy tale and reality, in order to show how fairy-tale heroes would behave in our world, how their character would manifest itself in completely unfairy conditions. However, the brilliant idea, unfortunately, found a very mediocre implementation.
There is absolutely no integrity and authenticity of the characters, in an attempt to make the characters more convex, the writers wrote everyone a terribly tearful story, which, frankly, quickly got tired (in order to form a character, a heartbreaking tragedy is not necessary). Characters of characters have quite little in common with fairy-tale primary sources (Snow White, skillfully fluent in martial arts - a rather jaded stamp ' modern fairy tales' common either because of the rise of feminism and reaction to ' patriarchal' fairy tales, or because of something else, it has long been boring).
Rumplestiltskin was very disappointed: the character who committed either good or evil acts seemed to fit perfectly into the trickster archetype (so impermanent, because he does everything not out of anger, but out of a desire to play), however, at some point the screenwriters and he generously endowed with a tearful past, pumping even more drama into an already pathetic scenario.
In addition to all the above, the melodramatic relationship of the characters, moving from series to series in millimeter steps, very quickly begin to resemble Santa Barbara.
Overall, the series was very disappointing. In my opinion, such an interesting idea could be implemented better at times.
I ' swallowed ' the series literally in 3 days, and now I want to put all my thoughts together. Overall, I'm disappointed. With each series, the events and actions of the characters became more predictable. Perhaps it’s a translation by Nevafilm (I’ve seen it in their voiceover, except for Episode 22), but the dialogue and script are written by a child! So many cliches and violations of logic. Very intrigue, but very little sense.
A few things were particularly annoying. First, it was difficult to perceive the order in which we were presented with the events of the fairytale & #39; world. You get used to it over time, but it's not too confusing. Secondly, the distorted plot of the usual tales. This makes the series much more interesting, of course, but the writers mixed so much together. Even 'Alice in Wonderland' by the ears pulled! It's also a good thing that only the Hatter got into the series from Carroll's characters. Third, David was madly annoyed, acting like a rag. Why has he changed so much, unlike the other characters? Where is his courage, determination, loyalty? And he can't even deal with two women! I don’t understand why it was so complicated by the tragedy of relations with modern features. Why didn't Abigail's beloved show up in the real world? Why did Catherine suffer so much? Fourth, the theme 'lost', 'found'and other abandoned and forgotten children comes up too often. Apparently, in the United States, the issue of street children and orphans is very acute. Instead, it was possible to tell the viewer more about bravery, devotion, self-sacrifice, friendship, love, which is not only about confessions and cinematic kisses. Maybe I expected too much from a children’s story. . . .
The only thing that really struck me and pleased me throughout the series was Rumplestiltskin’s thoughtful and written line, without a single violation of logic, with tolerable dialogues and much more instructive words. Episode 12, about his love for Belle, was the most interesting and memorable for me. Especially nice, as this actress resembles Disney Belle, all her costumes are thought out in this vein. Mr. Gold is generally the most interesting and curious character, although unpleasant.
I want to give the series a solid four. The final plus was the amazing work of costumers, decorators, artists - everyone who created the environment, the whole world. They did their best to make the series amazingly beautiful.
In every fairy tale there is a share of... fairy tales
After watching the entire first season of this epic work, I decided to leave my modest contribution to the difficult business: help in making the decision to “be or not be” – to watch or not to watch. My lowest verdict: watch! At least to make your own opinion on this controversial film. I agree, there are disadvantages here: the popularity this year of transferring the fairy tale to real reality, a large amount of parallel stories and other, other things. But! Plus more! I can also search and find: (a) logical inconsistencies and blunders in timelines and just life situations, (b) somewhere not well played actors, (c) the attraction of the plot with borrowings from literary fairy tales of different generations, etc. But the main beauty of this series is that you do not want to look for flaws! You are imbued with this atmosphere of a fairy tale, and, although everything is not sweet there either: fairies can not dream of traveling, Cinderellas have to buy dresses themselves, and princes can only marry for political reasons, yet our world begins to seem the curse of the Evil Queen, from which you want to get rid of quickly. The whole movie is full of magic.
By the way, most of this magic was brought by really negative characters: one cannot but sympathize with the unbearable pain of the Evil Queen Regina, although she is the source of her pain, one cannot but admire the sophistication and cunning of Gold-Rumpelstitskin. The beautiful prince is also inimitable, just an example of honesty, courage and nobility (not in our world, however).
Each story told about one of the characters is very vital and moving: the willingness to sacrifice is opposed to the willingness to sacrifice the closest person, love for the children of one and betrayal for the sake of one’s child of another, friendship and support even in dangerous situations turns into a real war between power-hungry characters, finally, real love and pain from its loss.
Everything is very beautiful and at a decent level, so I recommend to view and

The story of how a 10-year-old boy comes to one of the maidens from the TV series “Doctor House” and says: “Hi, I am your son!” You have to come with me to save the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. It turns out that all these disgusting dwarves, sleazy fairies, enchanted princes and Snow White have been living somewhere in the United States for 28 years and think they are ordinary Muggles. Poor people do not suspect that they were under the influence of a terrible curse created by the evil queen, a lover of juicy red apples.
The plot line in the style of LOST: it shows a fabulous country in which all these creatures once lived, then an American town with the same actors and their household problems with extramarital pregnancy and apartment bills. It's nice to see in general. Especially pleased with the participation of such actors as: David Anders (Spy, Heroes) and Robert Carlyle (Stargate: Universe).

Beautiful, gentle, beautiful... The actress who played her fully coped with her role. This is what Snow White looked like.
Beautiful Prince
Charming, brave... Thanks to him, you want to believe in such love, and not settle for less.
Her Majesty or simply the Queen
Beautiful but angry... Towards the end of the season, you’ll find out why it happened, and you’ll feel sorry for her. Such a tragedy can easily turn any woman into an evil, cruel woman capable of the most unthinkable actions.
Henry
Looking at him, you realize that faith has incredible meaning and power. The boy himself is amazing, believing in something when no one is listening to you, still keep repeating the same thing, trying to convince everyone else. You have to be incredibly strong for that. I admire him, because it is so easy to give up and believe the majority.
Mr. Gold Actually his name is Stulchenbalchen, or something else, his name is impossible to remember
In the real world it looks more or less normal, in the fabulous, just crazy. I’m always waiting for some dirty tricks from him. Why does he seem to be worse than the Queen? But despite everything, he fell in love with Belle, it shows his good side, he is able to love. But this is not enough for him, he wants power, without it he can not. This is similar to modern humans.
Red Riding Hood
It's all... red. And pretty. She really looks like Red Riding Hood. Her love story is touching and tragic.
Hunter
All so hairy... But if you remember that he was raised by wolves, it is forgiven.
There is also a sea of characters: Hansel and Grettel, Pinnokyo, seven dwarves, fairies, King Midas, trolls, Cinderella, princes and princesses, who are there only... Each series tells the story of the separate character, his adventures in both worlds. Watching the series, in the real world does not believe, it seems fake, but a fabulous story. It seems better, you want to believe in it, live in it.
Something I got carried away and forgot about the main character Daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, Emma
She was the only one who disappointed me, so much so that I had to take the ball away from the final evaluation. The actress, Jennifer Morrison, always looks so indifferent and the same, the corners of the lips are lowered, she looks not at 28, but at all 40, she is the only character I did not believe. If it were replaced, the series would be better, much better.

When I started watching this series, I didn’t expect anything surprising. In the first series, it seemed to me that the plot was clearly not good, but with each episode I became convinced of this. In each episode, we saw familiar fairy tale characters who were not so “perfect.” Good characters, even living in a fairy-tale world, are no different from ordinary people. They make mistakes, correct themselves, and of course fall in love. Watching the actions of different heroes, I condemned them, supported them, but always understood the reason for their actions, putting myself in their place. This series shows the world not in black and white, not as simple as we thought as children, always dividing the characters into “Good and Bad”.
I have a mixed opinion about actors. All are beautiful, quite suitable for the role (especially the villains – the Queen and Rumpel). The only doubt was Snow White. A little old and not so beautiful. But I've forgiven her face for resembling the main character, as they really look alike. I had my doubts about Prince Charming at first, but then I realized it was a good choice. The hunter was especially pleased with a good and very cute actor. The Mad Hatter also played well.
I won’t talk about computer graphics, since the budget clearly didn’t give them the quality of Avatar, but they did quite cope with this task.
The only mistake was the discrepancy between an adult Pinocchio and a small one, as eye color and red hair clearly did not match the adult actor. And during all the fights there was almost no blood on the sword or on the bodies of the murderers. I also mentioned that the story is about good characters (most of them are about Snow White and Prince). Rumple was in all the series, in all the stories, but it did not disappoint me, but on the contrary pleased the appearance of one of the most charismatic characters of this series.
I really liked the show. I'm really looking forward to it now. I hope he doesn’t lose his charm and ends well. I suggest you watch. Maybe you look at the stories from the other side and learn something new. Isn’t that the main point of the story?
It was in the evening, there was nothing to do, the series came to hand.
Unusual series.
I’ve never reframed the combination of fairy tale and our real world, but this series uniquely showed the differences between the two worlds.
These are completely new stories, old fairy tale characters. Great, exciting stories.
Characters:
Mary Margaret Blanchard/Snow White is definitely better. Militant, independent, beautiful Snow, in search of love.
Emma Swan - 'I love my son, will participate in the Cobra operation, but I won't believe in magic' - the motto of Miss Swan, I think Emma from the very beginning believed in magic just afraid to admit it.
The Evil Queen/Regina Mills is the most interesting, exciting and tragic story. You can't blame her after what she's been through. After all, from Snow she wanted to take exactly what Snow took from her. Loved one.
Prince Charming (James) / John Doe (David Nolan) - the role of Prince Charming suits him more. He knows what he wants, unlike David. Racing from one girl to another, certainly not the act of the Prince.
Henry Mills is what I would like to see in a fairy tale. Henry does not cease to believe, and is ready to go to any lengths to prove to everyone that magic exists, that everything is not so simple.
Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold is the most posh character of all. Cunning, calculating, a little cowardly, but loving 2 people wherever he was - son and Belle.
Belle is Rumple's lover. It shows that anyone can be loved. Evil, cunning, ugly. The main thing is to love.
And the last character I'd like to talk about is this:
Crazy Hatter/Jefferson - ' oh my God, this is a character' - I exclaimed seeing him on screen. Great, smart, remembering and hoping for the best. In this story, the Hatter is magnificent.
The result of the series is worth watching, even if you do not like fairy tales, you will not regret it.

When I started watching, I expected a lot. But from the first series began to appear cheap blunders and simply flaws. And the further, the more such unpleasant moments were. In fact, I am not a very picky person and for a good plot and atmosphere I could forgive a lot. There is nothing to forgive and nothing to forgive.
The idea itself, the idea, is wonderful. But its implementation leaves much to be desired. In addition, it can be seen that the fifth series just began problems with imagination. But it's a general impression. More specifically,
1. Actors are often very weak. Not always, but often.
2. The irrationality of their actions and behavior. It seems that the script was written by a teenager who does not cope with the logic of his composition. The story is replete with moments of “being in the right place at the right time.”
3. Characters were mixed, their biography was fooled. I’m very critical of this kind of change in folklore. In the sense that you need to appreciate the original source, and not distort it so much.
4. Computer graphics are often very primitive. I did not expect such weakness from such a strong company in our time.
5. With costumes and entourage, trouble. In the fairy-tale Middle Ages leather pants with lightning and rivets, clearly plastic bags from fairies, shoes for small are not sneakers, a toy very reminiscent of Mickey Mouse somewhere in the background.
Individually, such moments may not have caused me a negative reaction, but everything in the pile is disgusting. I don’t understand the positive reviews at all. Yes, the soul requires a fairy tale, but not the same incompetent implementation! I watched the first season. But with a creak and a background. I don't recommend it. The series was cheap and unthinkable.
It is pleasant to see the high level of growth of professional and most important talented approach in such a cinematic format as a multi-part film. The original ideas in the development of the storyline of the classic themes of the mythical narrative in the series Once Upon a Time have stepped far beyond the usual understanding of the traditional attitude to folklore legends.
This television project should, not just must, take the most worthy place on the pedestal of the highest achievements of artistic expressiveness called the game of imagination. To dream a dream is to believe, to hope for the best. Only this helps people not to go crazy, only this they live and breathe. The fairy tale is the best gift for callous and cruel souls, because even the coldest heart can melt the flame of hope.
I do not know for what reasons, but I deliberately avoided watching this grandiose film, it is psychologically very difficult, as an adult, to accept something in my life that is irretrievably lost, that has disappeared by itself. However, after seeing in this film, the most amazing way, were touched by the finest threads of emotions of the adult soul. There is so much love, compassion and mercy in this series that you feel involved in a fascinating game between the forces of good and evil. The plot of this feature film, on the one hand, is filled with a variety of images of magical characters, and on the other hand, these very characters, someone other than ourselves, real people who have lost the ability to believe and dream. Lost in the prose of ordinary and monotonous existence. This film is a breath of fresh air among the useless and primitive video material broadcasting cruelty and violence, everything is fine here and castles and nature and the main characters, even villains, witches and sorcerers are shown here not so much as the bearers of evil as the victims of it. At first glance, it may seem that the series is designed for a children’s audience, but to think so is deeply mistaken, its target audience is an adult who understands and distinguishes light from darkness.
A long-awaited and disappointing series. After all, the idea was beautiful: a small town near Boston, populated by fairy tale characters who forgot about their past life in the world of magic and magic. The Queen of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the one who orchestrated the journey to our world. Only she and the villain Rumplestiltskin remember everything and know the truth. But here comes a girl who comes to town ...
Interesting, isn't it? What happened?
It turned out to be a sluggish story with a lot of characters. Jennifer Morrison, who was very cute to me in "Doctor House," is a cross between a boy-baba and a regional beauty contestant. She is constantly curling and styling golden hair, which could soften the image, but only she moves with the grace of her brother from the neighboring area. Always the same facial expression and lowered corners of the lips, which is terribly aging.
The other characters are also strange, and it is not clear at all what audience the series is designed for. At first it seemed that for family viewing, then human hearts began to press on the screen, so now it became even more mysterious.
If there is nothing to see, it will do. But it's a bad idea.
There are pros too. For example, the tendency of the creators of the series to wear sticky clothes. Tight jeans on a beautiful ass, leather pants on slim legs, a stylish jacket on a pumped torso ... Nice to see.
Rumplestiltskin. Before watching: «He`s so creepy, such a dick! How do people like him?!» After watching: «He`s gorgeous! Hell yes, he`s a hot mess!»
Scattered through the scattering of photos on tumblr, my gaze focuses on the image of a skinny ugly type with rotten teeth. I look at this shrunken rotten apple and I think... an interesting man! The half-naked Chris Evans from the next shot didn't stand a chance. I’m talking about “Once Upon a Time.” I knew about this fabulous grass from the creators of Lost, but I did not intend to watch and would never gather, if I did not get to that freaky resource, where a hundred stunned Rumplestiltskin fans, tearing their throats and tights, shouted about their love for him and desire to twist a curly finger, beat cups and fall on his hands from the eaves. What kind of grass is so bad?
So I'm watching this obscurantism. The idea of the series is good - two parallel worlds with duplicated characters of a fairy-tale and real-life kind surrounded by cute locations, but the plot is so achtung that you can immediately see - the creators of Lost, who lost most of the fans after the third season, learned nothing from their mistakes. Or could - the crown would not have fallen, because the shoals are still the same: 1) a huge number of secondary characters with side quests, delving into which, as in the storm thickets, it is increasingly difficult to get out on the main road. As a result, the main quest is completely forgotten by both the characters and the audience, 2) a huge number of questions that the screenwriters will not give answers to, since they themselves have long lost their way in their labuda, 3) 80% of the airtime is devoted to heavy, brain-wrenching nonlinear flashbacks, because of which the narration moves snail step, and the need to think about what the past is meant - far or not very - irritates to the teeth, 4) a shameful Santa bar - if you are not yet looking for her pathological twins in this, because you are not yet looking for her lovers! 6) the radical inconsistencies of some heroes in different worlds, such as the quite decent pairing of Snow White/Prince and the nauseatingly correct pull of Mary Margaret/David, who, together and individually, want to be strangled, strangled, strangled to carpal tunnel syndrome! David is the end of creation, the world can not help, 7) heterogeneous episodes. Some are quite cheerful, but the vast majority drives into a lethargic sleep, from which at least kiss - do not wake up.
However! The series has two huge advantages, namely, the local mafia in the number of two individuals of stylish appearance: intelligent scum Regina and a fucking cool cunning Jew Mr. Gold. They are the Evil Queen and Rumple, equally luxurious in our fairy-tale world. And if the clever scum along the way transforms into a petty, looped bitch, then the cunning Jew (= a puffy troll) in the course of the play tears at the rubbish of everyone around with one click, while in the frame glowing through the episode, or even less often. Their open confrontation, now and then turning into a temporary mesolhance, invariably mixed with the desire to fuck and prick each other - the most piquant than this show has and holds ratings. With them, in addition to the two best episodes of the season, there are two eternal morals: 1) do not poison skinny shaggy spinners - one day they can become the most dangerous assholes in the world and let you be minced with a smile; 2) let your princess-daughters marry their favorite grooms, otherwise - a blood bath of universal proportions.
The gallantry and insidiousness of Gold with the ability to gracefully throw bits over the shoulder, the genius of Rumpel's swarm with squirm-dances and the gentle audacity of Regina is, of course, the pepper itself, but after the eleventh fable, emaciated by this marathon, I decided - enough is enough. And then the twelfth came, and my heart trembled, and my hands reached out to YouTube, and together with my thoughts spent more than an hour there, immersed in the hundred variations of the grievous rapes of that twelfth fable, for it was about broken cups, cornices and Balka. It's impossible! By the way, once again I am fond of the shortsightedness of tricksters in lamorous matters. First, what does Rumple do first when he falls in love? Of course, it drives the object of love away. Especially if, God forbid, there is a response. This position I understand is that mutual love doesn’t stir as much as the daily display of deep personal drama. He is told that the girl of his life has committed suicide. You can tell it's not a prince. In search of the body did not run, the coffin to open and resuscitate love artificial breathing mouth in mouth did not. No way. Allowed Regina to fuck herself. And in general, suspiciously reminded me of Rowling's Snape, who all his life loved a great and pure love memory. Fortunately, the prospects are brighter. By the way, the two-minute episode between Gold and Regina at the police station, when she leans towards him: “Tell me your real name!”, and he spreads in a bad smiley, is incredibly good. Except for them, there's nobody to look at. No wonder at all press conferences and shows, Carlisle and Parrilla hang out separately from the extras - a completely different class of performers.
So, what am I doing? With the general disrepute for The Fairy Tale and its writers, I continue to contemplate it for the sake of the long-nosed Machiavelli of local scale, to whom - the only one of all - I sincerely wish to find the truss of lava. When he finds it, it's over. Clear the basket.
Even the most inveterate cynics and realists dream in their hearts to get into a fairy tale, just afraid to admit it.
This is the main character of the series “Once Upon a Time” – Emma. She is beautiful, intelligent, well versed in people and quite successful in the profession. But is that enough for happiness? Emma never thought about this question until a strange boy appeared on her doorstep, who introduced himself as Emma's son. The girl gave birth to him ten years ago, but, fearing responsibility, gave him up for adoption.
In addition, the boy claims that Emma is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming and only she can save the fairy-tale characters imprisoned in a town called Storybrooke.
The curse of the Evil Queen brought Red Riding Hood, Snow White, the Talking Cricket and many other fairy tale heroes into our world, and they don’t even remember who they really are.
Naturally, Emma doesn’t believe him, but after arriving in Storybrooke, she suddenly decides to stay there, which radically changes her life and the lives of all its residents.
As a big fan of fairy tales, could not pass by such a series. In it you can find everything that we so lack in real life: beautiful princesses, brave princes, kind fairies and real adventures. But what is a fairy tale without the confrontation of good and evil? Therefore, the heroes will have to meet with evil witches, cruel kings, werewolves and other monsters.
In parallel, the struggle is unfolding in our world. Familiar heroes find new, sometimes unexpected, guises in the real world, and if in a fairy tale you have to fight evil charms and monsters, then in the real world the enemies are high-ranking officials and corrupt journalists. I don’t know what’s worse.
The values promoted in the series are as old as the world, clear and simple, but once in a fairy tale does not become less interesting. Screenwriters allow us to look at the usual characters from the other side, and perhaps recognize themselves in one of them.
The series immerses us in a beautiful, magical world populated by bright heroes. What is Rumplestiltskin alone worth? When viewing, it seems that the fairy tale is hiding somewhere very close.
First of all, I want to say that I love stories. And now there is a tendency to interpret old fairy tales in a new way, so that it would be more interesting for modern society to watch how Snow White and Dwarfs are doing, and the Mad Hatter sews his hats.
Of course, there is always a good interpretation, and sometimes not. I like the idea of this series - the Evil Queen imprisoned all the characters in a completely different unreal world for them, but the worst thing is that the characters themselves do not know anything, but here it is happiness, Emma appears - the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. This is where the most interesting thing begins.
Game of actors. Honestly, there's not much positive here. A good story - there, but with the actors "a little" pumped up. Why is it, I wonder, for the role of Snow White took such a non-standard, not different beauty actress Jennifer Goodwin, because everyone imagines Snow White as a beautiful, young girl, with black hair just below her shoulders, tall, slim, and here is such a disappointment?
Emma's character is clear and understandable. She is a strong woman who wants to fulfill her son’s wish to save all the heroes.
Here to whom there are no faults, it is to Henry, Prince Charming and of course to the Evil Queen, then thank God at the point!
In general, the series is not bad, I advise you to watch those who believe in miracles, because you do not need to be a strict critic when it comes to fairy tales.
