I've read a lot of reviews and a lot of people say that the most boring role is Emma Swan. That she is always gloomy and in general Jennifer Morrison is not suitable for this role. What do you think of Jennifer as a 28-year-old girl who doesn’t know her parents? Imagine that you were born abandoned by your parents, and all your life you were alone. And when you met a loved one, he sent you to prison. And after all this, you will enjoy life and believe a stranger boy that he is your son, and especially since you are the savior of an enchanted kingdom.
I really liked the series ' Once Upon a Time' especially the role of the Evil Queen, Rumplestiltskin and Captain Hook. I love this kind of show, but for me it’s the best show in the world. I'm not picking on the small shoals like some try to find some kind of error in the series. I'd watch it endlessly. And that's why I bet.

' Once Upon a Time' an amazing series, I recommend to everyone. There are big pluses, there are minuses. In this review I will tell you about the first season.
1. It's a terrible mix-up this season, but at the end of the day you start to figure out what's what. The interweaving of all fabulous heroes, such as Snow White, Red Riding Hood, Rumplestiltskin. Their connection to the outside world and, finally, the Curse, which brought all the inhabitants of the mysterious Enchanted Forest to our world. ' Land without Magic' the title of the last episode of the season.
2. Almost all the actors did their job, no doubt. But what I really didn’t like was that some characters appeared in 1-2 episodes and didn’t show them anymore. I will not say what these characters are, so as not to take away the pleasure of watching the series.
3. The evil queen. Her life is filled with grief and suffering, so she wants revenge on everyone. She is played by beauty Lana Parria, she has more fans than any other actor. The actress was so well able to get used to the role that you can imagine that she from birth plays only the Evil Queen.
4. There's almost no cons. I would like to hope that all the next seasons will be the same.

"Once Upon a Time." A series that tells about fairy tale heroes in a new way. I love fabulous and fantasy themes, so I included this series in the list of “View”. And that's the long-awaited moment when you finally get to the pilot. Indescribable sensations.
A cool story with notes of “Lost”, it is understandable, the creators of OUAT filmed and Lost. These two series are not tired of comparing until now: constant flashbacks and the ambiguity of all the characters, a la “who in this world is not without a sin.”
The first season just fascinates with its storyline and all the twists and turns. Old fairy tales are shown to us in a modern interpretation, it should be noted, quite successfully. But there's a little paradox with the characters. Villains evoke more sympathy than heroes. This paradox is easily explained by the fact that positive characters are too sweet and slutty from their correctness sometimes throws into nausea, and from inhibition into shivering. Negative characters are spelled out more carefully, played by their very charismatic actors, who think through every step and in which there is at least some logic. I think the first season is the best. Because of him, OUAT got into my personal TOP-5 series.
Season two. It would seem that the spell fell and the series was supposed to end, but according to the huge “requests” of fans, Kitsis and Horovits are filming the second season. Honestly, I don’t even remember the main storyline of this season, just individual and local stories. However, the show still keeps you on the screen, at least trying. But he is beginning to noticeably give up his position. Even ratings are starting to drop. But this does not stop the creators from creating (please forgive the tautology) next season.
Season 3. It's beyond my comprehension. In general, I noticed a trend in TV series, in which there are more than 2 seasons, that season 3 is the coolest: the creators take into account all the mistakes of previous seasons, tune in to the desires of the audience and oh! The ratings are breaking records, the season is just gorgeous! But OUAT managed not only to bypass this trend, but to achieve the opposite effect. So far, Season 3 has been his worst season. It's a stupid plot. At least the plot of the first half of the season, which takes place in Neverland. The series became so boring and boring that I saw nothing but trampling on the spot. 11 episodes show us what could have been quietly put in 3-5. After watching the season to the end, I realized that the last 2 episodes are worth the previous 20. Only these 2 (!) of the 22 episodes really kept me on screen. There was something about them that lost the series in the middle of season 2. And it would seem better to end the series on such high notes, but ...
Season four... Yeah, after a disastrous third season, they decided to shoot the next one. I hope that the creators will take into account all the mistakes and will be able to remove a worthy ending of the series in the face of the fourth season. But judging by the preliminary synopsis, nothing good will come out of it either.
So, to summarize all of the above, I can say that the story of the series was originally designed for one season. OUAT is a one-season series. So I can make the following assessments:
Season 1 - 10 out of 10
Season 2 - 6 out of 10
Season 3 - 4 out of 10
Thanks to the first season, I attribute the reviews to the positive type and put the series.

This series came across quite by accident, flipping through the filmography of Jennifer Morrison. What a surprise it was to have swallowed all three seasons of this magical franchise in just one month.
The series catches the viewer literally from the first series. The incredible colorfulness of costumes, the surrounding landscape of the Mysterious Forest and the sincere interpretation of old plots of your favorite fairy tales – all this makes a huge impression on the audience. Man is captivated by the mystery and uncertainty of fairy tale heroes. The main advantage of the series is that it shows us familiar from childhood characters from a new, interesting side. Here we see both the insidious Rumplestilskin, who is able to cancel his evil plans in an instant for the sake of his beloved; and the brave Snow White, who appears to us mainly in the form of a cunning robber, not an elegant princess; Regina is also surprised - a real villain who gradually, under the influence of strong maternal love, turns into a good queen. Such a vivid contradiction of the soul of each character leads the viewer to one conclusion - all the characters are residents of the real living world, and not a fairy-tale kingdom, dividing all people into two categories - "good" or "evil." This series features live people. People who are drowning in constant problems, troubles. People who are ready to deal with all difficulties. People who want peace and personal happiness.
Most of all in the series attracts the cast. Brave Emma Swan performed by Jennifer Morrison, charismatic Hook, played by Colin O'Donoghue, lovers Snow White and Prince Charming, performed by a real actor family couple Giniffer Goodwin and Joshua Dallas, but most admires the incomparable Rumplestrilzkin, played by Robert Carlyle. The roles of the real bad guys are literally made for this British actor. It does not matter who Carlisle plays the great dictator Hitler in The Rise of the Devil or the fabulous Rumplestiltskin in Once Upon a Time, this actor is capable of any atrocity.
I want to say one thing – the series is for family viewing. The fairytale world, so brightly and colorfully presented in the series, will appeal to both children and adults. Watch and enjoy!
Once Upon a Time is my favorite series. As soon as I found out about it, I immediately wanted to see it, because I always loved fairy tales. The Evil Queen (Lana Parria) (who was once neither queen nor villain at all, but just an ordinary girl - Regina) takes revenge on her stepdaughter Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) for her long tongue without bones. In her anger, she goes so far as to show up for the wedding and publicly announce that she will destroy the happiness of the Beautiful couple at all costs. After receiving a terrible curse from the dark magician Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle), the witch sends everyone to the most eerie place, in her opinion, the real world. Everyone forgets that they are fairy tale characters. The hated stepdaughter is now a schoolteacher and her lover (Joshua Dallas) is in a coma and they don't know each other.
The villain herself becomes the mayor of Storybrooke. Days flow monotonously, the clock on the tower froze in one place, and so it would continue if one evening in the city by chance came to Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison). It turned out that she was the biological mother of the mayor’s son, Henry (Jared Gilmore), who fled to another city to find Emma. The boy long ago guessed about the curse imposed by his adoptive mother and about who all Storibrucians really are. But no one believes him. Emma Swan has a long way to go from the day her own dreams first knock on her door to the moment when she believes in magic and restores memory to all the heroes of fairy tales. But you think this is the end? Nope. The Queen, like Swan, goes a long way from villain to hero, Rumplestiltskin finds what he created the spell and finds love for. Together, all the heroes go through many trials, travels, battles with insidious enemies.
Most of all, I love the amazing actress Lana Parria, who gave the world Regina Mills, the Evil Queen with a living heart capable of loving. I also admire Robert Carlyle, who brilliantly performed Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin. The entire cast is excellent.
One day, after another difficult day, on the doorstep of her house, Emma Swan discovers a boy who introduces himself to Henry and claims to be her son, whom she gave up to an orphanage ten years ago. The boy, in principle, came to her uninvited not at all in order to rock and accuse to pour — instead, he demands that she go with him to a certain town Storybrooke and save the entire population from the spell of the Evil Queen, who turned fairy tale heroes into ordinary hardworkers and housewives. That’s exactly what the series is about.
So, Emma in the face of Jennifer Morrison, not very attractive to me, goes to Storybrooke to take the guy to his parent - the mayor of the city, and by chance she gets stuck there for a long time, as suddenly motherly feelings played out in her and with a resolute cry: "I want to see how my son lives here," she easily enters the service of the city sheriff. And then, in fact, we get acquainted with the main fairy-tale heroes of A.K.A. ordinary residents of the city.
The fairytale plot revolves around a person named Snow White and her difficult relationship with Prince Charming - yes, even in the fairy tale, it turns out, they had problems not only with the evil queen stepmother. Oddly enough, but the unfortunate lady with white skin was attacked by everyone who is not lazy, it is good that Snow White was not made with a finger! Since childhood, I remember the image of this girl from a fairy tale - gentle, quiet, and the flies will not hurt. In "Once upon a time..." Snow White appears as a kind of kid, stubbornly fighting for her life and happiness - it seems that she is not alien to murder. Maybe that made her more romantic... Her urban prototype, Mary Margaret, was much more attractive. But the same can not be said about the Prince – although, I do not doubt, Joshua Dallas came to this role as a good fit. The torment of his heart about the eternal unhappiness with Snow White (and Mary Margaret) is perfectly complemented by heart-touching words about how he wants to be with his beloved woman. However, against the background of partings, quarrels and clarification of relations, all the action takes place.
The undoubted plus of the series was the Evil Queen (also the mayor of the city Regina Mills) – very charismatic and in some ways charming Lana Parria, which holds almost forty percent of the series. The second worthy character seems to be Rumplestiltskin (Mr. Gold), but only at first and only thanks to the very amusing appearance of Robert Carlyle. In the end, his hero also turns into another hunter for happiness, it is not clear what demands from others.
In general, characters borrowed from the most diverse (but well-known to all) fairy tales here there is a huge number - some of them will linger in the plot for a long time, and many - like Cinderella, will pass by, it is not clear for what purposes the necessary. I like Red Riding Hood (Ruby) – Megan Ori, and even her changed story seems curious. And, by the way, many plots of fairy tales have really undergone a colossal processing, so it is only the names of the characters left. It should also be noted that against the general background it looks quite appropriate. As for other major personalities, such as Henry, they were at times more or less annoying.
The action does not seem boring - and this is one of the biggest pluses, although on the other hand it does not always fascinate so much that I would like to quickly start the next series. It’s more pure curiosity than it will end, despite the quite tolerable plot and idea. You can, of course, say that they are not new, but, in principle, have not yet become so bored that I would like to spit from this, and, therefore, are able to stay afloat for several more seasons - the good news is that there are so many fairy tales in the world that the end-edge of the series will not see. To be fair, it is worth noting that the creators twisted everything very competently - new characters appear at the most appropriate and logical moments, so that it seems that they all really once lived in the same world and in the same fairy tale.
In general, a quite great series that is suitable for viewing even the oldest to remind you that a miracle in the world can exist – just believe in it. The series is quite positive and certainly suitable for a good rest in the evening after a difficult day as for watching alone, in company or in the circle of family - especially with children. It was a pleasure to watch.
I love fairy tales, I love fairy-tale movies and I don’t understand how they could be so distorted. To begin with, I didn’t like the idea and the whole series, starting with the first episode. Pure, kind, immaculate heroes of fairy tales appeared before us entangled in their actions people with a dark, thorny past. There is some strange, incomprehensible and uninteresting parallel between the fabulous warped world and reality. The story is told in fragments, which, when viewed fully, should give a whole picture of two worlds. Snow White, Prince, and everyone else have been given stupid names (and why is it asked?), and I was especially annoyed by Mary Margaret and no matter what it was educated for, it's stupid. The prince is married for some reason, he wants a divorce, his wife disappears, Snow White is accused of her murder, Snow White wants to forget the Prince, in the next series he goes to kill him, and the same problems happen to them in reality. A real soap show. For some reason invented the daughter of Snow White and Prince, a police detective who has an adopted son and lives in the real world. There is Pinnokyo, who was supposed to take his daughter to the real world and watch over her, he did not look after her, and now slowly turns into a tree. Pope Carlo tricked the royal family into saving Pinnokyo by transporting him to the real world.
All the actors are old, ugly, just scary, especially Snow White and her daughter, who seems to be older than Snow White.
As a result, all the beloved heroes of fairy tales, who were for us in childhood images of virtue, appear as treacherous deceivers and scoundrels, in the end, even evil heroes are better than them. All the narratives resemble either the plot of the series Lost, or some soap series. The series is extremely uninteresting, stupid, do not advise anyone. I am saddened that someone likes it.

The theme of the TV series is magnificent and innovative inimitable. All the fabulous characters we have known since childhood have been revived in the modern world! With all the clichés of our time: dollars, machines, jurisprudence and so on.
Special thanks to the cast. Jennifer Morrison we all remember from the series, from the category of "classic", "Doctor House". That she was smiling, that she was here, but... In "Once Upon a Time", this actress appeared notes of cynicism, rigidity and some arrogance. I really liked [b] Ginnifer Goodwin. Looking at her, at least once, I want to get out of my chair and shout: “This little girl can’t be Emma’s mother!” But, no, it really is. Snow White is fantastic.
About the “working” film crew, you didn’t even need to stutter. Action scenes or special effects are as unrealistic as possible. I didn’t need them at all in this movie.
The series, in fact, breathes a deceptive, ridiculous concept of “Love conquers everything”. As soon as you turn on the series, you immediately feel as if the film is saturated with naivety and with “good” characters.
I think I will publish the same thought that thousands of moviegoers felt in the head: “The faded shade of the series The Tenth Kingdom”.
In general, I will tell you my feelings: at first, I watched series after series; I began to get bored by the tenth, in a row; in the area of the thirteenth, I decided to view only the last two seasons.
As children, we hardly thought about what would have happened to fairy tale characters in the brutal modern world. In 2011, ABC decided to implement this idea and created the series Once Upon a Time. Snow White became a primary school teacher, the Evil Queen became the mayor of a small town, and Rumplestiltskin became the owner of an antique shop. And it turned, it turned...
I immediately warn you that there are a lot of disadvantages in the series. Here and the “children’s” special effects, and periodically knocking out of rut the sweetness of what is happening, and cardboard play of some actors. But in a truly magical way, I still love this series with all my heart. Plus, in an era when TV is full of blood, murder and naked bodies, “Once Upon a Time” just has to exist.
Be prepared for the fact that family ties and relationships of the characters will plunge you into a silent shock and confuse you so that you have to draw whole schemes. The daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming once met Rumplestiltskin’s son, whose wife went to Captain Hook, who later became the daughter’s new love. Remember? In the third season, we learn that SPOILER ALERT is the father of Rumplestiltskin Peter Pan, and the Evil Queen is destined to become happy in the arms of Robin Hood. This is far from the madness of writers. However, once you get involved, you gradually cease to notice these incredible plot twists and even get used to them.
As has been repeatedly noted in reviews, the plot is built on both the fabulous past and the harsh present. The further away, the more details, and the characters are revealed from different sides. What’s really frustrating about Once Upon a Time is the lack of adequate motivation among the main evildoers. In my humble opinion, the most logically motivated comrade is Peter Pan. Magic leaves Neverland and to prevent this sad event, he needs the heart of a true believer (that is, poor Henry, that's how he managed to get into trouble again and again). With the Evil Queen, things are slightly different, opinions are divided, and most fans of the series tend to defend Regina with foam at the mouth. Although it would seem that her mother is more to blame for the murder of Regina’s beloved than Snow White. But all this is nothing compared to the Wicked Witch of the West (yes, yes, Oz is also featured here). The apocalypse in miniature, this wonderful woman arranged only because her talentless sister was taught by Rumplestiltskin, and Zelina herself was raised in poverty. And the fact that she became a powerful sorceress without the Dark Magician did not stop her. Envy, she's so green...
In the Good Side, everything is clear as God’s day – everything is done in the name of Love (to the son/husband/friend, etc.). In the confrontation of Good and Evil lies a plus - over time, bad characters change for the better, and positive characters are sometimes capable of true evil (see Snow White in the second season).
And now for the other pluses - about characters / actors.
There are two stars, Lana Parria and Robert Carlyle. Both play so well that Regina-Lan wanted to be strangled with his bare hands in the first season. Rumpelstiltskin is certainly one of the most charismatic characters to whom it is impossible not to feel sympathy. Barbara Hershey (Cora/Queen of Hearts) was also stunningly spectacular.
Despite the abundance of various princes, my maiden heart was melted only by Captain Hook, played by handsome Irishman Colin O'Donoghue. A seductive scoundrel with a raised eyebrow and a delightful accent is just a fairy tale!
Of the girls, the most beautiful was - no one expected, but - Red Riding Hood (Megan Ory). It remains a mystery to me why people are unhappy with Ginnifer Goodwin playing Snow White - the actress is cute with both long snow-white hair and a short Mary Margaret Blanchard haircut. It is worth noting that the line of Snow White / Prince Charming is sometimes murderously sugary, but still makes you cry - love to the grave, self-sacrifice and the invariable saying "I will always find you." Isn’t that what girls dreamed of as children?
A separate item is Jennifer Morrison, familiar to many as Dr. Cameron of House M.D. and one of Ted Mosby's vilified from How I Met Your Mother. About her character - the main character of the series Emma Swan - it is difficult to talk. For the princess, she is too brutal, and it was not easy for her to believe in magic, but she certainly does not take courage. And by the face you can drive in, and the pirate falls in love (thank you, Emma, for giving us the love-stricken Hook). Another thing is that Morrison sometimes plays not so much, although here, rather, the fault of the writers – the character remains unchanged for three seasons.
If in childhood fairy tales and Disney cartoons did not leave you indifferent - then go ahead, to view! Still, faith in goodness, love and a little childish naivety adults will not hurt.
P.S. The cutest fact about Once Upon a Time - on the set Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White) and Josh Dallas (Prince Charming) fell in love, recently got married and are soon expecting their first child. How can you not believe in fairy tales with a happy ending?

Charming, though somewhat naive and girlish series, imbued with fabulousness, adventure and romance. Here the fabulous world is interspersed with the world... also fabulous, but modern. The main character is a woman of difficult fate, who one day found on the threshold of her apartment a long-abandoned son who convinces her to go to the strange city of Storybrooke and save its inhabitants from a terrible spell. What normal person would believe that? But the events are lightning fast and strange...
If I had to describe the show in one word, I would call it charismatic. The number of interesting and attractive characters is truly off the scale, and the most curious, as always, villains. The interpretation of famous fairy tales here, frankly, free, but it is even funny. Despite these liberties, the film remains quite childish - no bloody details, candid scenes, etc. Although without a good knowledge of Disney fairy tales to watch, perhaps, it will not be so interesting - without knowing the original plot, you can decide that the stories of all the characters are almost the same.
The main drawback I would probably call inconsistency – if at the beginning we have a clear division into “bad” and “good”, noticeable to the naked eye, even simply by the way the characters hold and talk, then by the second season there is an advanced psychology, causing at least bewilderment: fairy-tale characters were much more fabulous when they did not remember anything about their magical life.
But that doesn’t make the series any worse. A magical, fascinating story with a bunch of storylines, among which everyone can find their favorites. I personally liked it.
The use of fairy-tale characters is now in fashion, so that a series with heroes of famous books collected from around the world is of interest.
The plot is initially intriguing - it is interesting to guess who is who in the magical town and how the writers will connect the worlds of different fairy tales. But the further, the more stretches, stamps, frankly sagging dialogues with poor morality appear.
Actors: The whole so-called light side is boring and monotonous to the teeth grinding. Looking at all the “positive” characters is incredibly boring. Lots of pathos and zero acting. Outwardly, there is also nothing to look at - they are kind of gray and through one overly eared.
Villains: Perhaps the only reason why I’m still watching this nonsense.
Robert Carlyle - scenes with his participation as a breath of fresh air. His Rumple is the only living character in the environment of mannequins.
Lana Parria - The Queen in her performance is interesting, passionate, intelligent and beautiful.
Colin O'Donoghue - Captain Hook: classic handsome, but damn charming.
Decorations and costumes: squalid to the extreme, and it is sad.
To watch either teenagers of primary school age or fans of any of the participating actors.
Once Upon a Time is an unusual series that has its own long history and you don’t know what to expect from the writers of this show.
This series tells about the girl Emma Swan, who lives an ordinary life and does not know about the existence of magic, etc., but in her life there is a boy Henry, who contributes to her history and life, and leads to the city of Storybrooke, where she begins to plunge completely into the world of magic and miracles.
The plot is quite interesting and the events in this series are developing dynamically, which cannot but please. In this series you can remember various fairy tales, as well as their characters. Learn their extraordinary history and how it influenced the story of Storibrook and Enchanted Forest.
The characters themselves evoke only positive emotions. From the very first seconds, you sympathize with a certain character and immerse yourself in their story. At the end of each season, an epic event occurs that affects all the characters and their subsequent actions.
With each new season it becomes more interesting and interesting. There are new characters who are considered villains and heroes, but we learn that the evil character is actually kind, just influenced by some circumstances, and the good character is evil. In general, the series “Once Upon a Time” is very confusing, but interesting.
Of all the characters, I like the Evil Queen, Rumplestiltskin, Captain Hook. They're just unique. With each new season, you learn more and more of them and realize that life is a very harsh thing.
I wish this series never ended, because you’ve become so fascinated with these characters that they’ve become like family. I am very happy that I found such a series and started watching it.

Being a great lover of everything unreal and fantastic, I was tempted to watch “Fairy Tales” because of a friend who sang praises to this series, emphasizing its uniqueness in every possible way. Indeed, the idea seems very interesting and straightforward (as someone somewhere very accurately noted that this series is a “spin-off for all fairy tales”), so anticipating the birth of a kind of supernova for me (a new favorite series), I sat down to watch.
The plot of all Western fairy tales, of which a huge number, revolves around all the same: the evil sorceress / queen / goblin / wizard (to emphasize) imposes a curse (which exactly depends on the imagination and country of the manufacturer) on good characters. “Pilot” begins in the same way: all the fairy-tale characters that were ever invented and, logically, should never have met, are subjected to a very specific curse: they forget about their fairy-tale origins and find themselves in a small town in the northeastern United States. Why is the most fun always on the other side of the ocean? It would be more fun if they were scattered in places inhabited, for example. However, like any curse, this has its own antidote: the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, who grew up in the “real” world and, of course, does not really believe in magic and magic, will help to restore all memories. But she will come to the aid of a new-found son (from whom the main character refused 10 years ago), who believes in the real nature of fairy tales, which is quite normal for children his age, and will try to open her eyes, forcing her mother to look at the world from a different angle.
In fact, the series is very kind, and the main focus here is family values and the idea that only family tries to tell us the right way in life, making us better than we are. Unfortunately, in our time, not many people realize this, approaching this issue somehow indifferently. And, since the series is focused on children, they also receive a message about how important it is to support their loved ones and generally stick together. Some social subtext is noticeable with the naked eye.
The first season was great. The atmosphere of magic was felt in every frame (even though not the best graphics and CGI). As the story progresses, you begin to worry more and more about the heroes. However, after the seasons, the plot began to somehow loop and repeat itself, and in general the idea of a genealogical tree of the main characters is not the most successful idea (I have already confused who is the matchmaker and brother).
I can’t say I’m excited about all the actors (but their work depends on the character of the characters). For example, there is Robert Carlyle, who just fantastically plays Rumpelstiltskin and the brilliant Lana Paria (also known as Regina, the Evil Queen); and there is Emili de Ravin, who absolutely did not impress me with her game (although I adored her in Lost). Perhaps there is a contrast between positive and negative characters, that some have a whole range of emotions, while others have only compassion and faith in a bright future. It’s a pity that the Hatter was removed (I naively continue to believe in his return). Those who had the potential for development were like unploughed fields. Although, I perfectly understand Sebastian Stan, when you are called to a big movie - anyone would throw everything here.
In general, if you continue to believe in miracles and that good will a priori defeat evil, then you certainly will not get bored watching Once Upon a Time. This series is able to return to a few moments in childhood, when trees were large and problems were small.

I wish, I wish, but the prince is not visible. or badly wish? hurt... or fantasy melodrama.
Volchenko timidly waves her paw and immediately tries to breed a heavy fog of everyday sorrows to testify that cinema sometimes helps to forget and distract, and also that if there is no time and effort, you can watch TV series. And yet, it turned out that fantasy is more about the form of the narrative, and the content is easily combined with almost everything in the world. In this case, very clearly - with melodrama.
And, I must admit, if there were no beautiful costumes and new incarnations of fairy-tale heroes, the film would not look. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not that it's really cool, but it's a solid idea and the best possible way to put it on the screen, based on the resources available. Whether things get better or worse over time (an actual question for the serial format) is for my taste, so far without jumps. In some places, script holes are quickly patched with delirium, the old ones gradually learn to play and are less annoying, and the new ones still practically do not know how to play and irritate more. The number of faces on the screen is also more or less constant, enter a new, out the old, something like that.
There is absolutely no sincerity in the expression of feelings, and all the touching situations are a typical tear-crusher, each deceased character, after you double-check the reality of his death ten times, together with you will be adequately mourned and in general he will not close his eyes without saying the final monologue to the last word. Many conversations, almost every body movement before and after is discussed in detail. The counterweight can be that very healthy personal and family problems are raised, and their solution is often presented from at least two different points of view (good and evil, haha, guess who will win).
Back to the design. The world of the series can be called “multifandom” because of the intersection of a variety of fairy tales and not only fairy tales, of course, to put everything together, you have to give many new roles. The typical series is a series of episodes of characters in Storybrooke in America - heroes in the Enchanted Forest of their world with a focus on one or more characters to reveal their character, relationships. Costumes and decorations are good, if you do not particularly look, and if you look, then even in the interiors of the forest you can find things that could hardly be there. However, bow to the decorators, half I look because of your work.
The cast is quite heterogeneous. It seems that people were recruited from photos, because they are very well suited to their names, fit simply by the type of appearance, the characteristics of the faces. The way they play... no, Russian TV series they can not beat, but I would like more. There's Rumplestiltskin's pearl, and there's Henry, what did they do to the baby that it's so unnatural, it's so complicated? They taught acting, not otherwise. There is a very diligent Evil Queen and there is this terrible grandmother in the main characters (sorry, I do not love her so much).
Summarize. The series looks good, and this is the biggest plus for any series. He has a lot of flaws, some of which you can try to hang on the excuse “well, fairy tale” ... in a sense, it’s the opposite of “Games of Thrones”, and do not try if you are sick of such things. But he's good at his idea, thank you for the old familiar names, for the courage to make soup tiny edible.
The series "Once Upon a Time" began to look out of despair - all decent shows were screened, and I wanted something long-lasting. The plot itself did not attract me, but after reading positive reviews, I decided to get acquainted with such a famous brainchild of American producers and did not lose out.
At first glance, the story captures. The idea of fairy-tale heroes, transformed by the will of the Evil Queen into ordinary residents of a small town, struck me as amazing. What would look like all these Cinderella, Snow White, Hatters and other heroes of world folklore, if they lived an ordinary life, wore jeans and drove cars, how would they all behave in situations of the modern world, in general, all this was very interesting to me personally. Especially pleased with the fact that in parallel with the main story we show how the fate of the heroes of fairy tales in that fairy-tale world. Pregnant Snow White, Cinderella with her husband-prince and other characters familiar from childhood live as if a prolonged life and all this is fascinating and unusually presented by the screenwriters. I was not annoyed by how the authors of the series deal with fairy tales - a fairy tale is a myth, and any myth can be interpreted and presented differently, so I do not see blasphemy here, especially since the writers did not vulgarize or spoil anything. On the contrary, their imagination delighted me. How interesting and allegorical they weave the real world and the fairy-tale is something.
The actors. Well, it's not that rosy here - ordinary serial actors play well, but not that ah. The actor who plays Rumpel was pleased, and of course the Evil Queen Lana Parria deserves applause standing up. I sympathized with her from the start simply for her beauty and charisma.
Jennifer Morrison has not loved since the days of House, but here she looks good, despite the obvious masculinity and ugly gait. She plays decently when you have to cry - she cries sincerely. I didn’t like Jennifer Goodwin in the role of Snow White at first, but then I appreciated the choice of the creators of the series – this is how Snow White should be, even if her ears are protruding.
Separately, I need to say about the costumes and effects – both impressed me, for the series everything is at a very decent level.
The first thing I want to say is that the series itself, discarding its content, and looking at the wrapper, is made very professionally, at least the company ABC, the creator of such giants as "Lost" and "Clinic" once again did not hit the mud face and made an adequate, visual series, which is very addictive, and that for the series is sometimes strange, addictive, literally, from the first series.
But to the plot: the narrative in the series “Once Upon a Time” unfolds in two worlds, one of them is our modernity, and the second, the magical world of Snow White, the Wicked Witch and the Prince Charming (a bit relevant, isn’t it?) On the background of "Snow White: Revenge of the Dwarfs", "Snow White and the Seven" and "Snow White and the Hunter".
In the center of the story is 28-year-old Emma Swan, played by the star of the early seasons of “House Doctor” Jennifer Morrison.
On her 28th birthday, her 10-year-old son comes to her, whom she once abandoned, and he opens up a new world to her, where she is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, and the fate of the whole world that the Evil Queen has captured depends on her alone.
At first, a certain “children’s” storyline with Snow White is very alarming, because it gives a fairy tale, a natural children’s fairy tale very much, but several series pass and you do not even notice it, which ultimately creates a quite favorable pastime about viewing a story not abundantly supplied with some deep meaning.
The series “Once Upon a Time” initially did not claim to be a super-task, although its pilot series was watched by more than 12 million, no – the series demonstrates an excellent fantasy adventure story on a given topic, and quite successfully, I must say.
Therefore, if you do not set too rigid limits and are not prepared to get emotions comparable to the same “House” or “Dumpsters”, then you will like.
This is a series that captures from the very first minute and does not let go. And three years later, it’s still interesting to revisit the first series of the first season, finding some previously unnoticed details.
From the very first series, I was struck by how masterfully the screenwriters combined fairy tales from different books, epochs and times - they all so harmoniously coexist with each other. Red Riding Hood is Snow White's best friend. And the Crocodile, who stole the hand of Captain Hook, suddenly turns out to be a living person and the main hero of his special - such a difficult - story.
Every Storybrooke resident has a story. Not always the same as the original story of the book, sometimes not at all like it, but always the one you believe, understand and sympathize with. More precisely, each of them has two stories - one true and the second invented by the curse of the evil Queen.
I want to celebrate the work with details. Everything here is not accidental. Time on the alarm clock, apartment number, broken cup in Gold's hands. Everything is imbued with the mystery of magic... everything lives and breathes magic, which, like everything in the world, has a price. High, low, whatever. Be prepared to pay. Give away the most valuable or lose the unnecessary.
As always, this world is ruled by love. True love, which is able to break any curses, to remove any spells (well, except for the rare case when the kiss of true love suddenly becomes powerless, if one of the lovers suddenly lost his memory - which, in my opinion, is a very interesting and important find), to survive any time and remain as pure and great.
Of the actors, I want to note the magnificent Robert Carlyle - so vividly his transformation from Mr. Gold into the great magician Rumplestiltskin and in the past lame coward. Colin O'Donoghue as Captain Hook. I bet we haven't seen a Captain Hook like this anywhere and we're unlikely to see him. All the long decades of his life, he lives only with the hope of revenge, and when real love suddenly appears in his life, he changes. Was it easy for him? I think not. But, hopefully, it was worth it. Lana Parila a real evil Queen and a loving mother who has nothing in this world except Henry. Jennifer Morrison successfully fit into the series. I don't think it would have happened without her. She does not play, she lives in Storybrooke, completely reincarnating in Emma Swan - a woman with a very difficult fate, which is very difficult to believe in a fairy tale, because her life is completely different genre.
In my opinion, the series was especially successful in showing the “negative” characters. Drawn much stronger than the main and good Snow White and Prince, they make you empathize and do not let you relax, standing either on the side of good, then again returning to evil.
This series is about faith, about trust, about friendship, about the great happiness of having a family, about repentance and, of course, about overcoming. It doesn’t matter if you overcome fate, or try to overcome yourself by changing for the better, by stopping doing evil in the name of something bigger.
There is no happy ending for villains
- This slogan runs throughout the series with a red thread. But by the middle of season three, you’re so convinced of magic and wonder that you believe these villains can and will have a happy ending. They have become your own people, and you truly care for them.
This series is a fairy tale that you go with Emma, sitting in the passenger seat of her little yellow car. And with Emma waiting for her prince, who will be a Pirate or the son of the dark one will show time, but certainly a person she will love with all her heart.
I'd bet 11. Just for the fact that this series allows you to again believe in magic and fairy tale. And no matter how old you are - an adult or a child, "Once Upon a Time" will not leave anyone indifferent.
10 out of 10
About this picture I learned quite by accident, and when I asked about it from a friend who knows a lot about the series, I could not pass by. For me personally, series are more of a burden than a long pleasure, since there is no time for really long creations of the screen. But “Once Upon a Time” was one of the few series that I wanted to spend time on.
From the first series, we are given to understand that it will be about the interweaving of a fairy tale and real life. Why not? But the thought creeps in: "I will be told already known stories?" But that’s why the series attracts, which shows the other side of the coin. The continuation of the already well-known stories drags more and more. Therefore, I have no comments on the plot. Nothing catches the eye in the form of “obvious joints” and blunders.
What pleases the picture is the unpredictability. There is no way to guess what, how or why will happen next. Whether it is the relationship between the characters or the fabulous part of the series.
The picture itself is very harmonious and pleasing to the eye. Actors are selected in the highest category in all 3 seasons. The backgrounds and scenery are very realistic, make-up artists also do not lag behind.
A big plus to the series from me. Sit down to watch the whole family, you will not regret it. No moments of "ala horror film" and plot overloads. I highly recommend it!
Once Upon a Time is definitely one of the best series of our time. I personally advise everyone to see it, from small to large.
The series, as silly as it sounds, teaches what is “good” and “evil.” It’s also a very family-friendly series, especially the third season.
Speaking of season three. After watching all three seasons, I can tell you the best is the last. I especially like the unpredictability of the plot, there is a lot of information in the series, but at the same time, it is not confusing, a specific picture is formed in the head. And it makes everyone feel sorry. There are no negative characters, although usually in fairy tales they are clearly expressed, (unfortunately), everyone wants to feel sorry, no one is guilty of anything, and if guilty, it is only because of stupidity or accident, or simply because of such a well-established life.
By the way, my favorite character is Peter Pan, played by Robbie Kay, oh, this boy is amazing, it's probably my love. Strange as it may sound, but he is the one for whom I “church” in the series, for some reason I want him to win, although he is sneaky ... on one side. But charisma and acting. It's just candy.
And another big plus in the series - the scenery, it seems that you are in a fairy tale, as was intended by the directors. Their idea was successfully implemented.
I'm not afraid to put on the series

Although not a masterpiece of world cinema, but I really like that not all events immediately predict.
Today, the series are, as they say, at the forefront of progress. If in the movies you can see mostly blockbusters and not very smart comedies, then on television there is a place for any genre, and serious dramas seem to have completely moved from the wide screen to the blue. True, “Once Upon a Time” does not apply to such dramas – this is a completely traditional series about love, parental feelings and a little about magic.
The action takes place in two worlds - in a fairy tale and its reflection in reality, the backwater town of Storybrooke. In Storybrooke, fairytale characters have become ordinary people, but in each series the plot returns to the magical past. Which also gradually penetrates into a rather dull present.
"Once Upon a Time" is obviously an inexpensive series - there are no special special effects in it, luxurious costumes and scenery, too. The main emphasis is on acting, especially since the team assembled is simply magnificent. Jennifer Morrison before receiving the title role managed to appear in several seasons of House, Jennifer Goodwin is known for Big Love. Lana Parrilla, who played the Evil Queen, was less fortunate, but the actress is beautiful and now a celebrity. Well, the real star of the series, in my opinion, was the British Robert Carlyle - his Rumplestiltskin is simply unmatched!
In general, the series is not particularly profound, but it is made qualitatively, excitingly, at a very good level. It is perfect for lovers of good stories.
You know what the problem with this world is? Everyone wants to solve problems magically, but everyone refuses to believe in magic. - Jefferson (Mad Hatter)
I began to watch this wonderful series with my family. We watched the first five episodes, then I started watching it alone. Many people say it’s a children’s series. They're partly right. But I want to stand up for my favorite series. What did you expect to see in a series rated 12+?!
There will be no blood and no scary moments! If you were hoping for this, you should pay attention to the series 'Grimm'.
And now a little bit about the plot
In this series, we observe two parallel worlds ' Enchanted Forest (world of fairy tale heroes) and Storybrook (our world).
The evil queen from the fairy tale about Snow White sends a curse to the Enchanted Forest, the heroes of fairy tales are transferred to our world, losing memories.
Some will say the idea is not new. Yeah, not new. But the creators of the series manage to wonderfully beat this idea. In each episode, we are told two stories: one from Storybrooke and the other from the Enchanted Forest, representing a flashback.
I am a connoisseur of many fairy tales, as well as their variants, but I have not seen such. You can never tell how a character will behave. The beaten stories are absolutely not inferior to the primary sources.
Characters and actors
Each actor is perfectly suited to his role. Now I can’t even imagine anyone else in the place of each of them.
Since there are too many of them, I will pay attention only to those who are especially memorable to me, of course, avoiding spoilers.
Emma Swan - Jennifer Morrison
Throughout the series, we've seen Emma's personality change. From a distrustful, lonely woman, she transforms into a brave, just Savior who finally understands her destiny and finds family and friends.
Lana Parria as Regina Mills/Evil Queen
Lana perfectly coped with the role of a charming villain who can be sympathized with. This character is not a pure villain. It opens up for season two. We follow her motives, reasons, feelings, which often make us think: ' What would I do in her place?'
Robert Carlyle as Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin
Another ' villain' series. Another beauty of this TV series is that we are not going to show 'pure villains' and 'pure heroes'. As in real life, all characters have a dark and bright side. And as for Mr. Carlyle, he has a certain charisma that will not leave indifferent to his character.
Ginnifer Goodwin as Mary Margaret Blanchard/Snow White
At first, this character may seem a little boring. She's too kind and right. But in the first season, it was necessary. I won't reveal all the cards. But it will open by the second half of the first season. You will understand that you should not make hasty decisions.
Colin O'Donoghue as Cillian Jones/Captain Hook
And this character will appear starting from the second season. This is not Captain Hook from Disney. It's a real pirate!
A little about special effects
It is worth giving it a head start, after all, this is not a Hollywood movie, which invests a lot of money! But the graphics here do not cut the eye so much, which is commendable.
I'm finishing up, there's only a conclusion
The series is worth watching. It's actually more for teenagers, but I know adults who enjoy watching it. This series is created to add a little magic to our gray lives and make us remember our favorite fairy tales. . .
Being a fan of the series “Grimm” and at one time starting to watch it, I completely accidentally stumbled upon this masterpiece. Of course, in comparison with Grimm, where fairy tales are played in their pristine form, without gloss and Disney nobility, there is a lot of vanilla in this series.
At first, the characters of Snow White and Prince fascinated me: a beautiful couple, high feelings, but when series after series you watch these sweet expressions of their faces, the same phrases like “I will always find you” or “our true love, believe in yourself”, you begin to get tired. About their daughter Emma too nothing to say: the actress disappointed, behaves illogically, then she dismisses everyone as from annoying flies, or then suddenly jumps up and runs to save the world, and her facial expression, which reflects just all the sorrow of the world, just kills sometimes... In general, the main “adjustments” did not please. But with the main "villains" another thing: Hook is simply chic, such tricky eyes and disarming smile still to look for, the Evil Queen is magnificent, as much bitterness and bitchiness mixed with hatred, and Rumplestiltskin, bravo to the actor, a first-class reincarnation.
In general, the series is watchable, the plot is interesting, of course, fairy tales are mixed there, a lot is invented, but the main thread is not lost and all events are connected with each other, nothing is taken out of context, but for my taste there is too much romanticism in it, the love of Snow White and Prince is bulging to such an extent that sometimes you do not see the stories of other heroes who are no less interesting. I vote for Rumplestiltskin and Belle, because I watch this series mainly because of these characters.
I liked the film immediately, from the first minutes and then watched it without stopping.
It’s great how the filmmakers were able to shoot it so long, in one breath.
I will say this: this is not a fairy tale, this is a real masterpiece that is not only watched, but also impressed by mystery, reflection and your own imagination.
The actors played great, but the fairy tale is intended more for children, who are advised not only to watch it as a holiday, but also to see yourself there, your reflection.
We live in illusions without noticing reality and even adults imagine life in the form of a fairy tale or mysticism.
Have a good time.
The idea of the series is not new, but better fairy tales than endless and meaningless melodramas about wools, witches and other wickedness.
The plot seems very simple at first. The Evil Queen has sent all the fairytale characters into the real world, where they have forgotten who they are. And now the savior Emma, the daughter of Snow White and Prince, must break the curse so that they all heal happily ever after. But it’s not easy... by the end of the second season, the brain is blown away. And on the one hand, the idea of “what nonsense?” is constantly present, but on the other hand, interest in what will happen next only grows.
In each series, in addition to the main storyline, the stories of individual characters are told: The Hatter, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Grettel. The action takes place both in the Enchanted Forest and in Storybrooke (the city in which the fairy-tale heroes now live). And although sometimes the behavior of the characters makes your eyes crawl on your forehead, and special effects and computer graphics become very obvious, the series does not lose its highlight due to individual characters and dashing plot.
Emma. Terribly rational woman. He is incapable of seeing a miracle. I don’t think I’ve doubted more than once in the first season, “Will she believe it?” And Miss Swan looks too brutal. The daughter of Snow White and Prince seems different to me.
Regina Mills. The embodiment of real evil. It's a good thing for her to give a shit to someone. A smile to the ears after another nasty thing. In fact, she and Golda are holding on to everything. Their friendship, or opposition is the main feature of the series. Make Regina good - and Khan's ratings.
Mr. Gold. Maybe it’s my predisposition to negative characters, but this man can not dislike. So calm and unflappable. Until then. And then he'll freak out! And there will be whispers from the bench, from the man ... maybe nothing left.
Snow White and Beautiful. This is the biggest divergence between the Enchanted Forest and Storybrooke. In a fairytale world, the prince is brave and brave, and ready to do anything for Snow White. And his Storibrukovo prototype David Nolan is indecisive, cowardly, in general, a woman. It's the same with Snow. Did they get one virus when they flew to Storybrooke? Where did that desperate girl from the Enchanted Forest go? In the real world, Mary Margaret is just a rag, which Regina does not miss the opportunity to wipe her legs.
Who else impressed is The Hatter. The madness that comes from Jefferson suits him madly. Beautiful, intelligent and charming Jeffenson, I think, immediately won the hearts of the female half of the fans of the fairy tale.
Of course, the series is not without blunders and sometimes too naive. But let’s not forget that this is just a fairy tale for children and teenagers. Which, however, could be shown in two seasons. The third is afraid to look, the end of the second already left much to be desired.
I started watching this series after passing a small test 'What series do you want to watch?' And to the question ': Do you like love dramas?' I said no. But there must have been a mistake in the test. For love passions in the series more than enough.
The series began promisingly. I was immediately fascinated by the history of a fairy-tale town, whose inhabitants, heroes known to us since childhood. In parallel, we gradually learn the background of what is happening and something falls into place, and something becomes even more complicated.
I have to pay tribute to the writers, I didn’t find much script blunders. One of them is the death of hunter Graham, who managed to recall much of his old life and realize that Regina has his heart. It seemed strange that Regina had no problem killing him. I immediately had a question: Why couldn't she do the same to Emma? Why all these circles around the bush? The bond between the son and the real mother was not so strong. But after a few episodes (like even in the second season), in a conversation with Mr. Gold, it turns out that Regina is simply unable to do it.
For the most part, I had no questions for the writers. At least until season two. There were so many new lines of relationships and new heroes that it became difficult to perceive what was happening. Peter Pan as a dark dark dark shadow taking children to a country they don't come back from - it's a whole new look at this fairy tale, which is a bit troubling. Although, in most of the reworked fairy tales looked quite natural in conjunction with the original story.
The main advantage of this series is the actors and the quality of shooting. You can argue with the second one, but for two seasons I felt like I was watching an endless feature film. Not with the smallest budget. And all the special effects seemed very worthy to me.
The actors are great in the majority. Sometimes you want to see them as more human and less fabulous (idealistic). Prince and Snow White are very sweet at times. I also found Emma a bit boring. No complaints about the villains. The magnificent Robert Carlyle, the super-elegant and undoubtedly talented Lana Parria.
The main disadvantage of this series is that it is impossible not to continue watching, because the fairy tale should have a happy ending. But with each new series, where new problems and villains appear, the belief that this happy ending will come less and less.
7 out of 10
I recently finished watching the second season. This series is a real find! Imagine that the plots of our children's fairy tales and the fate of their heroes intertwined and created a new fairy tale, unlike any other, but which is aimed at an older audience. This is "Once Upon a Time in a Fairy Tale."
From the very first series, the series seemed a bit boring to me, but the plot was too unusual for me not to continue watching. And so, after the fourth episode, I realize that I can’t stop watching this series and unwittingly turn on the next episode, then the next, the next. With the first season over, I look forward to continuing. I was not at all prepared for the fact that everything we all knew about our childhood favorite heroes would be turned upside down. But let me tell you this: it's brilliant! The whole plot, from the beginning of the first season to the end of the second, is so finely thought out that I began to doubt that the writer is from our world, and not from some Enchanted Forest or Neverland.
It’s autumn, it’s time for new seasons of all kinds of series, and with it, the end of my expectations. When I watched the second season, I cried on almost every one of the twenty-two episodes. What if I saw such a drama unfold before my eyes? Oh, Gods, I was so worried about everyone! It’s been a long time since I’ve felt so much emotion when watching. Thank you very much for not leaving a joke aside. There were not many of them, but I laughed sincerely. Everything that happened before my eyes transported me from one world to another, from the other side of the screen. Thank you very much to the actors who put a lot of effort into creating such an atmosphere.
Among all I would like to note the acting of Robert Carlyle, Lana Parria and Ginnifer Goodwin. Almost everyone got a very capacious and hard work, but this trinity touched my heart the most. Robert in the role of Rumplestiltskin is inimitable, genius, or choose some other definition, but this cannot be disputed. Lana, that feeling, was created for her role. Because she made me hate Regina at the same time, feel sorry for her, wish her dead, and hope that it was not too late for her to atone for her sins and become a better person. Ginnifer as Snow White is the embodiment of kindness and light. Those who condemn the choice of her for the role, because “could find an actress who is really the most beautiful and sweetest of all”, open your eyes and look closely. Despite the fact that the other actors were slightly eclipsed, they all worked well and put a piece of their soul into their characters. The only cast member I didn’t like was Bailey Madison, who played Little Snow: for some incomprehensible reason, she often annoyed me with her performance.
Special effects places were not quite plausible (it is unlikely that the channel could afford large costs for the series), but against the background of the overall picture, everything looks pretty good. Although this is not so important, because everything is based on the originality of the plot, and there are not as many special effects here as, for example, in Supernatural.
This series is full of unexpected turns, exciting episodes and interesting flashbacks that will make you look at your favorite stories from childhood with different eyes. It's something you haven't seen yet, but you have to see. In conclusion, I will say that the chain of endless plot intrigues hides a very correct idea: family above all.
The rating of the series, of course
Late in the evening, wandering around the Internet and thinking about what to see, I came across the series. “I love fairy tales, I have to see,” I thought and turned on the download of the first series. While the series was loading, I carefully studied the plot, the actors and in what year the series was released. I was upset that season 3 wasn’t out yet and I’ll have to wait, because for me season 2 is a couple of days. But I haven’t started yet, and I may be disappointed, so it’s okay. And here it is, the first series, now with confidence we can say a wonderful series.
Great idea! Yeah, it's not new, but it's beat out. Wonderful actors. Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parria, Robert Carlyle – these actors conquered me. Their characters are the main treasure of the series!
Ginnifer Goodwin – Sweet, kind, open and sincere, but at the same time strong and daring. I am writing about Snow White, not Mary Margaret Blanchard, because Snow White is the main character. The only downside is the short hair. She's prettier with the long ones.
Jennifer Morrison (Emma) is beautiful and lonely. She refused to believe in miracles and it was a little annoying. In the middle of the series, I was already shouting, “Emma, believe me at last!”, but alas, she did not believe it as soon as she would like.
Lana Parria (Queen) - I applaud standing up! This actress's performance is high. I didn't doubt her for a minute. Powerful, powerful, vengeful. Her love has been taken away and she will take revenge. Watch out for Snowball, because you've been hit. Bravo again.
Robert Carlyle (Rumplestiltskin) – If anyone is better than the Queen, it is him. A controversial character. Good and evil, and see which side he is on. You know, he's so good, it doesn't matter who he's for.
What I love most about this series is that all of our favorite fairy tales appear in a different light. The story of Red Riding Hood is my favorite. Who would have thought that it is possible to transform old plots, but the writers turned them upside down and it is beautiful!
I’m just starting to watch Season 2, but I can say with confidence that you should drop everything and watch this series immediately. There are so few miracles in the world and there is absolutely no magic, and this series will plunge you into a fairy-tale world and you will not regret the time that you devoted to it.
Have a good time!
I was very interested in the trailer for this series. Unusual, interesting. After viewing my impressions are ambiguous.
The plot. The idea is quite intriguing, although not new. This series tells us a story about two worlds - real and fairy tale, which are constantly intertwined. The main character is Emma Swan, a 28-year-old girl who lives her life until her son arrives for her birthday. He tells her that Emma is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming and now all the fairy-tale characters need help, since the Evil Queen brought all the fairy-tale kingdom into our world and made it so that all the characters did not know who they really are.
Pluses.A colorful fairy tale world. It is interesting to see how well-known characters behave in the real world. After watching, there is a fabulous sense of magic. During viewing, you can relax perfectly, as the plot is unobtrusive. The development of the characters is quite detailed, we learn a lot from the history of long-known and beloved characters.
Minuses.Unimportant computer graphics. When it comes to magic, there are no complaints, but when the scenery is a nightmare. This is a fairytale world! Was it possible to find an actress for the role of Snow White, who really would be in the world of all miles? Or a prince who has to show that he can save everyone? What do we have? Snow White with a cute, but not particularly attractive appearance and a prince who, in appearance, himself needs rescue. It's a fairy tale! Everything here should be on an aesthetic level perfect! Pretty far-fetched dialogue. I know it’s a story, but I’d like more meaning.
The neutral side. After the first season, the series lost its original intent. That is, switched to another channel, here we see a completely different story. I do not take the liberty to put it in the “pros” or “cons”, there is no taste and color of a friend.
If you want to relax, laugh at times, do not strain when watching - this series is for you. Good to see you.
I'll ruin your happiness. And I will keep that oath...
The Evil Queen has imprisoned fairytale heroes in our world. . Well thought out story, glad that in the series there are many fairy tale heroes! For 2 days I watched Season 1, I was glad that stories are told that are not at all familiar to us, even take the Queen and Snow White! in the cartoon, the Queen did not like Snow White, because she considered her more beautiful, and here is a completely different story...
Once Upon a Time, this is definitely not a typical fairy tale series! The action takes place in two worlds, which makes this series unique!
Heroes:
(Evil Queen/Regina) - Beautiful and Wicked The best actress for the role of the Evil Queen and can not find ... played perfectly! I think her storyline is the most interesting in the series. We are also told that Regina was not always evil, but a very nice and kind girl, but such circumstances arose.
(Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold) - A gorgeous character, as well as the actor's play! A complete madman in a fairy tale, but in our world a mysterious and domineering one.
(Snow White/Mary Margaret) - The image of Snow White she succeeded. Sweet, kind girl...Mary Margaret not that.. too sweet... and a short haircut does not suit her.
(Beautiful Prince/John Doe)Prince Strong, brave, ready to do anything for his beloved!John Complete opposite, rag, rushing from one girl to another...
(Emma, Daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming) - Brave and beautiful girl, the only one who can save fairy-tale heroes from imprisonment in our world.
In the series there are also many other heroes: Cinderella, beauty and monster, sleeping beauty and many others. In general, I advise everyone to watch, plunge into the world of fairy tales. A series for the whole family . . . enjoy watching!
I also recommend watching Nevafilm, the best!
10 out of 10
The series primarily attracted by its title. "Once upon a time" - this is how most fairy tales begin, most cartoons based on fairy tales. Personally, this phrase evokes awe and some nostalgic memories. As I grow older, I notice that I do not want to move away from fairy-tale worlds, and with the same pleasure as in childhood, I sit in front of a TV screen (well, or a monitor) and again immerse myself in the fairy-tale world of Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, the Little Mermaid, of course, beloved Belle. Because fairy tales are a state of mind, not a category of movies. So, going back to the series itself, it attracted the title.
Since the first series, the series did not last. Moreover, looking at the rather old Snow White, the not-too-attractive Queen and the not-so-Prince Charming, I thought I was unlikely to continue watching the series. But ... The idea turned out to be much better than I expected (I must say that I did not read the description). Well, yes, Snow White is older than it should be, and Prince Charming (James, by the way) didn't initially arouse sympathy, and who said it couldn't be? After all, only characters, names, and everything are taken.
The plot , although built on all known fairy tales, but rests on another, and the main line is absolutely different. Emma, 28, arrives in Storybrooke to bring her son Henry back to his adoptive mother. But the son went to Boston for a reason, and not even to see his biological mother, but to bring her to his town. The boy is sure that all the inhabitants of the city are enchanted characters of fairy tales and do not remember their past because of the curse imposed by the Queen (his adoptive mother in reality, by the way). Only his biological mother, Emma, the daughter of Snow White and Prince James, can break the curse. Emma, of course, does not believe the poor man, takes him for a madman, but nevertheless, she feels sympathy and remains in the town. And immediately a miracle happens – the clock, which has stood for decades, begins to go. And then... See for yourself, feel the atmosphere of a small town inhabited by such familiar characters, although living in our time. All this is accompanied by wonderful music, costumes and scenery. Graphics, of course, not at the height, but it harmoniously fits into what is happening.
The actors, as I said, from the very beginning were doubtful, however, by the third series you imbue them with sympathy, and they become relatives. Besides, they play decently, there was not a single moment for me to say, I don't believe! Separately, I want to highlight Rumplestiltskin, whose name is not only pronounced, but also not easy to write. The hero, whom I only learned about at the end of school, occupies one of the main places here. Played by Robert Carlyle - the best way to convey the character of his hero, quite "slippery" and greedy type, from the word "deal" immediately flashes like a New Year's garland. The image of Red Riding Hood is a little amusing - such a detached, dressed in the style of PinUp, with black arrows and red sponges. And the weird thing is, it doesn't look like it's gone. Interesting? Yeah. Original? No doubt! But it didn't.
And now, I am completely in the power of the town of Storybrooke, and frankly, I want to postpone the moment until I have to leave it. Now I’m in the middle of the first season, I don’t know what will happen next, but I hope that the series will not lose its charm and charm, that the fairy tale created by the directors, actors, writers and everyone, everyone, who worked on the film, will continue, and of course will end (sadly, but fact) happy ending (which is not at all sad).
