"Black and white in color" which he worked on in 1976. The film was not appreciated by French audiences and critics, but it received an Oscar in the United States in 1977 as the best foreign film.

In 1981, Jean-Jacques Anneau worked on the film Struggle for Fire, which was awarded two César Awards. For the film adaptation of Umberto Eco's work titled
