Latvian actor Martins Wilsons was born in 1954 in Siberia, where his parents were exiled. Mom, a 20-year-old student, was accused of allegedly intending to emigrate to Sweden. The father was also sewn with some completely phantasmagorical accusations. Roland Cechovic and Zanta Wilsons (Martins' mother's surname) met in exile. There, in the barracks, Martins was born. The actor’s mother is still alive, she has a small estate 30 kilometers from Riga. His father died of silicosis shortly after returning from exile.
Martins Wilsons graduated from the acting department of the Riga Conservatory. He began filming in 1983. His first film work was a role in
film "Mirage" based on a story by Peter Chase. The hero of the film, a young man, commits a crime. And then together with his beloved girl throws himself off the cliff. In the film Intergirl, Violsons played the role of a truck driver who helps the main character. “If I didn’t know how to drive, I wouldn’t have been cast,” Wilsons said in an interview. The filming of Intergirls took place in Sweden. The director of the film Peter Todorovsky loved to work on a scale. For the Soviet boy, albeit a well-known actor, to visit the Capstrana was an unprecedented success.
Wilson served in the army - on Tynd. The Komsomol counter of the Baikal-Amur highway was carried out by the hands of conscripts and convicts. “The school of life was still the same,” Wilsons recalled, “the temperature is 60 degrees below zero, from food – instantly frozen porridge, did not wash for six months. It could have been very easy to die. However, those who survived, nothing in life was afraid.
In the creative baggage of Martins Wilsons several dozen roles, but as usual, he is sure that the best role he has yet to come and dreams to star in Nikita Mikhalkov. /
