American actress Cynthia Stevenson was born on August 2, 1962 in Pidmont, California. Her father was an editor and her mother owned her own business. When her parents divorced, Cynthia and her mother and brother moved first to Bellevue and then to Vancouver, Canada. Most of Cynthia’s childhood years were spent there.
The girl studied at school, was engaged in gymnastics and cheerleading, participated in the productions of the drama circle. That's where she got into theater. After school, Stevenson entered the University of Victoria in the department of theater. Then she returned to her homeland in California and studied there in several famous theater studios.
All her work in student performances caused the approval of the audience, teachers and fellow students. So the girl decided to conquer Hollywood. She moved to Los Angeles. There she received roles in two theater performances. One of them, the comedy The Ladies Room, became a hit. Cynthia was noticed and in 1986 offered her a role in the humorous TV show Off the Wall.
Then she starred in television series, for example, in the soap opera “Chears”, as a secretary of Norma, in the sitcom “Bob”, in the series “Hope and Gloria”, “From Earth to the Moon”, “Empty Nest” and others. Stevenson, of course, dreamed of working in movies. She soon got the chance, playing a small role in Robert Altman’s The Gambler (1992). Then she appeared in many films:
"Happiness" (1998), "Forget Paris" (1995), "Bachelor party in reverse" (1995), "Jennifer's Body" (2009) and others. In 2003, she was awarded the DVD Premiere Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in The Air King: Star Clones.
