Julie took in 1988, along with her partner, 13th place in the US Figure Skating Championship among juniors. But, despite significant successes in the sport, after a serious leg injury received in training in 1989, the dream of high achievements in figure skating on ice had to part. The prospect of a medical career melted away, defeated by the desire to become an actress. This decision was influenced by the fact that already while studying at school, Julie starred with Harvey Keitel in the film Two Evil Eyes.
After school, Julie Benz entered New York University. In parallel with her studies, she took acting lessons, choreographed and improved her vocal skills. With such a tight schedule, she managed to star in the series Hi Honey, I'm Home. After graduating with a degree in dramatic arts, Julie Benz began her career in episodic roles in numerous Hollywood TV series.
