Karel Rodin was born on May 18, 1962 in the Czechoslovak town of Ceske Budejovice. He appeared on the big screen in 1984, playing a role in the film When Poets Lose Illusions. The undoubted talent of Karel Rodin was noticed by the directors, and within a relatively short period of time he became one of the most popular and popular Czechoslovak actors, and after a few years he became known at the European level. Karel has both feature and documentaries, the total number of which exceeds four dozen. In 2001, he received an invitation to shoot from Hollywood.
The first film in which Rodin played in the United States was the action movie “15 Minutes of Fame”, where he played the role of the “bad guy”, and shooting in the movie “Blade 2” brought him fame around the world. Until 2004, when Karel’s success was firmly established, he managed to star in many Hollywood blockbusters that became famous all over the world. His outward resemblance to Roman Abramovich contributes to the fact that he is often invited to play negative characters, the prototypes of which are Russian oligarchs. Despite his employment in Hollywood filming, Karel Rodin continues to be quite active in European projects. In his native Czech Republic, he was nominated several times for the Czech Lion award, which, in the end, he managed to get in 2008 - so highly appreciated his participation in the film Guard No. 47.
