The first offer to film came in 1942. At that time, Italian actors often paid equal attention to work in the theater and filming in the movies, but Ferzetti had a different story: the appearance on the screen led to expulsion from the Academy. And yet he became a theatrical actor, even before finishing his studies - talent prevailed over administrative prejudices.
In the forties, Gabriele Ferzetti successfully played in several films, and then there was a pause, and in the cinema he returned only to the early fifties. Viewers saw Ferzetti in such films as “Fabiola” (1949) and “Provincial” (1953) – the actor, with his aristocratic manners, became a great favorite of the public.
In 1955, while acting in the film "Girls", Gabriele Ferzetti met Michelangelo Antonioni. Three years later, this outstanding film director successfully used the Ferzetti type in his career.

In the sixties, Gabriele’s fame was so great that he took part in international projects. The most famous of them are Three Rooms in Manhattan (1965), The Bible (1966), Once Upon a Time in the Wild West (1969).
In the seventies Ferzetti continued to work abroad, collaborated with directors of France, Germany and England. In Italy during these years, such films as The Night Porter (1974) and Corruption in the Palace of Justice (1974) were released with his participation. Then came the "strip" of television series: they Gabriele Ferzetti starred in the last decades.
In his filmography, more than a hundred roles, the most recent of them are the mini-series Around the World in 80 Days (1989), Othello (1995). On the threshold of his 90th birthday, the actor has something to be proud of. /
