Alain Rob-Grier was born on August 18, 1922 in Brest. He is a French novelist, film director and screenwriter. Allen graduated from the National Institute of Agronomy. Alain Rob-Grier was born on August 18, 1922 in Brest. He is a French novelist, film director and screenwriter. Allen graduated from the National Institute of Agronomy. His first novel was called “The Reign Murder.” Rob-Grier wrote it in 1949, but it was not published until 1978.
For the next two years, Rob-Grier worked as an engineer at the Colonial Institute of Fruit and Citrus Plants. The young man often visits Morocco and visits various exotic places. At the end of 1950, Alain resigned from his post for health reasons. The author returns to France and writes his second novel, Swallows, which was published in 1953. Critics did not attach much importance to the work, but Alain completely focused on literary creativity.
Alain was a great director. Under his leadership made a lot of interesting films. For example, a painting
"A beautiful captive" This is one of his very first works.
Incredible success brought the author his next work called “Speeper”. The novel was published in 1953 and received the prestigious Criticism Award. Newspapers publish articles that the author insults public morality in his work.
Rob-Griller receives a column in Express magazine, in which he publishes a series of nine articles under the title “Literature Today”. The articles were published from October 1955 to February 1956. After some time, these works formed the basis of the program collection of essays “For a new novel”.
In 1957, the novel “Jealousy” was published, and in 1959 “In the Maze”. In 1960, the writer decided to try his hand at cinema as a screenwriter and later as a director.
In 1971-1995, Alain worked as a teacher at New York University.
In 1985 he published a book, an autobiographical trilogy called The Returning Mirror. The second part was released in 1988, and the third in 1994.
In 2001, Alain Rob-Grier’s last novel, Repeat, was published.
