Luther Adler or Lutha Jacob Adler was born in 1903 in New York City. He was a famous American actor, famous primarily for his incomparable performances in the theater and on Broadway. Luther Adler was one of six children in the family, each of whom devoted himself to art: his siblings worked in the theater, older sister Stella was a famous dramatic actress, and younger brother Jay was an actor of the theater troupe.
Luther Adler first appeared on the Broadway stage in 1921 – he was not even twenty years old. His performances could be seen in various performances paired with actress Catherine Cornell. His film debut took place in 1937, in the film directed by Gregory Ratoff “The Spy”. But after that, he returned to the theater stage, where he played successfully until 1945.
In 1938, Luther Adler married actress Sylvia Sidney. Their marriage lasted only 8 years, resulting in a son Jacob. The second marriage, with Julia Rocher, lasted until the death of the great actor.
In 1945, Adler recalled himself in cinema. Paintings " Cornered" (1945), "Carmen" (1948), the main role in the film "Find the Red Witch" (1948), "The House of Strangers" (1949),

Luther Adler died in 1984 and was buried in a cemetery in New York, next to several of his many relatives.
