Prior to forming The Ting Tings, Katie performed with Technical Knock Out and Jules was involved with Babakoto. In 2005, the two musicians met, which led to the formation of their own musical collective called The Ting Tings in 2006. Initially, musicians perform at private parties, thanks to which they gain fame and popularity on the club scene.
The same year, the debut singles "That's Not My Name" and "Fruit Machine" appeared on BBC Radio 6. In 2007, the musicians performed at the Glastonbury Festival. Following him, The Ting Tings embarked on a tour that ended in early 2008. In the spring of 2008, The Ting Tings were ranked third in Sound of 2008. In the summer of 2008, the next single of the team called "That's Not My Name", immediately after the release, debuted at the top of the Billboard.
The Ting Tings recorded and released their debut studio album, We Started Nothing, with tracks such as "That's Not My Name", "Shut Up And Let Me Go", and "Impacilla Carpisung". The album, following the released singles, occupies the top of the UK charts. In support of the compilation, The Ting Tings are going on tour in the UK.
