She appeared in the Canadian children's TV series Are You Afraid of the Dark? She appeared there in only three episodes, but this played a role in furthering her career. This was followed by participation in commercials, small roles in TV series, after which, finally, nineteen-year-old Laura gets the lead role of Sadie Harrison in the series “Instant Star”, which aired for four years.
