We never think about why we like sweet, sour, salty and even bitter. We are not surprised that some smells make people appetite, and others unpleasant to the disgust. And we find a beautiful face in the crowd with the help of a special “sixth sense”. And pleasant and unpleasant to the touch things we distinguish thanks to completely incomprehensible, at first glance, the mechanisms of our body. And there are six such feelings-mechanisms for each person.

Twenty-first-century North America. People have reached the most remote corners of the continent, greatly expanded the boundaries of modern technology. However, the first man set foot on these lands not so long ago, only 14 thousand years ago. At that time, North America belonged to other creatures, the size of which corresponded to its vast territory. They were real giants, swift and ferocious, whose lives are now lost in the centuries. The amazing work of British scientists, based on a detailed and comprehensive study of past eras, as well as the latest achievements of computer and cinematic technology will allow you to travel back in the centuries to the time of the last Ice Age long before the appearance of the first big city. Look at what is happening through the eyes of primitive people! During the Ice Age, the surface of North America was covered with an ice sheet more than three kilometers thick. But as the continent warmed, the ice shell began to shrink. Passages began to open along the coast and among the mountains. Primitive people began to migrate south. The land was transformed, new green plains appeared, numerous rivers and lakes were formed. And on this land began to dominate other animals, more adapted to these conditions. Decent hunters and dangerous rivals, even for such powerful animals as mammoths. . . close

The Most Extreme is a documentary television series on the American cable television network, Animal Planet. It first aired on July 7, 2002. Each episode focuses on a specific animal feature, such as strength, speed, behavior, anatomy, or diet, and examines and ranks ten animals that portray extreme or unusual examples of that quality. The rankings serve only to give a broad depiction; a scientifically rigorous procedure is not employed to quantify them.
Along with each animal on the countdown, each episode presents a computer-animated segment which compares the animal's ability with something equivalent in humans, followed by an interview segment with people who share some common trait. For example, in "Super Sharks", the animal ranked #1 was the Hammerhead shark, for its extreme senses of vision and smell, along with its ability to sense voltages as small as a half-billionth of a volt. This was then compared with a team of human hackers, including StankDawg, who were war-driving around a neighborhood and looking for faint wireless signals. Old, often public domain, cartoons, movie clips and trailers are often included.
The series is made in New Zealand by a small production team at NHNZ. The termite has had the most #1 ratings but has only been in 15% of the top 10's. close

Aguilera's first concert video, a repackaging of a slick special that aired on ABC-TV in 2000, shows what this "girl" really wants is to move beyond the bouncy R&B-flavored pop she's known for. Her cheeky hits ("Genie in a Bottle," "Come On Over, Baby," "What a Girl Wants") are followed by songs from Mi Reflejo, her Spanish-language album, and My Kind of Christmas, her holiday release. She has sweet duets with R&B legend Dr. John on "Merry Christmas, Baby" and balladeer Brian McKnight on "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and shares the stage with rapper Lil' Bow Wow (weird, but it works) on "So Emotional" and "Christmas Time." close

Britney Spears: In the Zone is a busy batch of Britney-mania, much of it featuring Spears in crisp dance numbers supplemented by behind-the-scenes glimpses and chatter. The heart of the show is an ABC television special featuring live performances of "Toxic," "Breathe on Me," and "I'm a Slave 4 U." A fun highlight is Spears's hip-hop collaboration with the Ying Yang Twins on "(I Got That) Boom Boom," one of the few numbers in the star's stage repertoire with a little room for spontaneity. Between songs one finds Spears gushing over her grandfather, praising her entourage, describing the emotional toll of being in the public eye, and writing songs. close
