The sinister and ugly Coppelius turned here into a funny eccentric scientist, who is easily fooled by the charming Swanilda, the main character of the story - pretending to be a revived mechanical doll. And that is not out of spite, but only in order to teach and get rid of the troubles of the hapless groom, who was carried away by a pretty stranger in the window, unaware of her mechanical nature.
As befits a romantic comedy, for lovers everything will end well, but on the way to a happy ending there will be a lot of beautiful lyrical and mischievous dances, laughter and pranks. “Coppelia”, which I want to call “an elegant thing”, likes both adults and young viewers, who, without any doubt, will appreciate the ingenuity of the main character and the wonderful collection of Coppelius dolls. close

The director turned Drums into a variation on the theme of the medieval Dance of Death, in which the whole society is involved. A war rumbling in the distance is coming closer to their homes, a revolution is already breaking out in the newspaper quarters, but the dancers do not care. The cheerful space of the cabaret is inhabited by freaks who seem to have just risen from hell. close
