The most influential sports publication in Russia - the newspaper "Sport-Express" - after the end of the competition of skaters at the Olympic Games in more
The most influential sports publication in Russia - the newspaper "Sport-Express" - after the end of the competition of skaters at the Olympic Games in Turin came out with the headline "Genius" on the front page. Naturally, this word was addressed to Evgeny Plushenko. He really is a genius. For many years he went to this gold medal and won it for a clear advantage. The Russians did not have worthy rivals. There was one unpredictable one, he himself. But having coped with the excitement, and having done work on the mistakes made four years earlier at the Olympics in Salt Lake City, he irreproachably rolled Tosca in the short program and very carefully performed an arbitrary "Godfather". Both times the hall greeted the skater standing and for a long time applauded the talent and skill of Zhenya. When there were demonstrations, no offense to the winners of the games in Turin and other athletes, everyone was waiting exclusively Plushenko. The audience came to Plushenko. And Plushenko, in the youth language, lit a hundred! Evgeny took part in more than 70 competitions and only 9 times was left without a pedestal of honor, winning 47 top awards! Of particular note are 3 gold medals at the World Championships, 5 gold medals at the European Championships and, of course, the main gold medal in Olympic Turin. In addition, since 1999 Plushenko has not lost the domestic championship (the absence of a medal in S003 is due to the fact that Zhenya missed the tournament) and has repeatedly won the Grand Prix final. Sports achievements of the skater can be listed endlessly. In this film, Zhenya, his coach Alexei Mishin, his relatives and friends will tell the story of Plushenko in detail and frankly. You will hear about the fact that as a child you had to collect bottles to feed yourself, that my mother repeatedly wanted to take my son away from St. Petersburg, what actually happened at the World Cup in Moscow and hear the first interview Plushenko gave to the film crew two hours after his triumph in Turin! The experts will be world champion Ilya Averbukh and Premier of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia - Nikolai Tsiskaridze. And of course, it will not do without a romantic love story between Zhenya and his wife - Masha. Among other things, there are shots of the skater’s children’s performances, as well as funny stories of Yevgeny Plushenko, which are not included in the film, but which can be found in bonus materials. close
