The town of Zinkov, where in the 1930-1950s people of different nationalities and confessions lived in peace and harmony, is actually a paradise that was not on the map of the former USSR: mysteriously, it simply “falled out” of the field of view of the totalitarian system. It calmly and naturally coexisted Orthodox Church, Jewish synagogue, church and heritage of Islam - the old Turkish fortress. In Zinkov lives the main character of the picture, Motl-Shotchen, matchmaker “from God”: as a real mediator between people and worlds, he goes from village to village, from house to house, “creating love”, creating harmony of human destinies. Motle believes in life with all his heart and serves it.
But now, the system inevitably breaks into Zinkov, torn from the world, and with it the war. The idyllic life of the town collapsed, and with it the life of Motl, who lost his loved ones. Having lost his world, he leaves both faith and service. But life and love are stronger than war and death: Motla is supported by all those whom he helped, and gradually he comes back to life.

The drama series Joker tells the story of three best friends who served in elite special forces of the USSR. Before its collapse, the guys received an important task, and their paths diverged. Valentine and Vladimir went in pursuit of money. They began to use all methods: permitted and illegal. George faked his own death. One day he finds out that his wife has died. A man goes to a funeral. There he meets his son, with whom he has not spoken since the divorce. Georgy offers any help on his part, if he suddenly needs a guy or his family. The request was promptly followed by her daughter-in-law. And then a lot of trouble falls on the main character. Thanks to his skills in the special unit, George adequately copes with all the difficulties and problems that fall to his lot. But it’s not that simple because it’s a different time.
Ukrainian masterpiece
The series was filmed in 2004 in Ukraine. This is one of the strongest paintings of the country at the beginning of the 21st century. It is allowed to viewers from the age of 16. Its director is Konstantin Shamin. The production team is headed by Artem Dollezhal, Vlad Ryashin, Alexey Terentyev. Anatoly Khimich was engaged in camera work, and Sergey Krutsenko became the composer.
The success of the Ukrainian series directly depended on the actors. A strict selection was made for this picture. The composition included: Lev Prygunov, Sergey Romanyuk, Olga Sutulova, Vladimir Goryansky, Dmitry Oskin, Dmitry Bazai, Konstantin Shamin, Dmitry Lalenkov.
