Yuri Mazhuga was born in the capital of Ukraine in Kiev on April 13, 1931. Having studied at the Kyiv Theatre Institute named after I.K. Karpenko-Karyo, Yuriy Nikolaevich becomes an actor of the Lesia Ukrainka drama theater, where he works today. Over the years, he played a great many roles, participating in both tragic and comedy performances. Among his most famous works are “Irkutsk History”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “The Gambler”, “Woe from Wit”, “The Inspector” and many other performances.
In the mid-1950s, Majuga appeared on television. His film debut was the role of zootechnic Vasily in the melodrama When Nightingales Sing. After that, he was invited to the shooting of the paintings “Born by the Storm”, “Katya-Katyushka” and “Quiet Shores”. An interesting type of good-natured man with dimples on his cheeks, attracted directors of that time.
In the 1970s, Yuri Nikolaevich Mazhuga played his famous role as the district Sanko in the series Grigory Kohan.

In 1975, Majuga set himself the task not just to play in theater and cinema, but to teach the art of others. Then he began to teach acting at the same institute, where he studied himself, and in the pop studio. In 1985 he achieved the title of professor. He continued to work.
The last work of Yuri Mazhuga was the role of Head in the film “Evenings on the Farm near Dikanka”, filmed in 2001. Majuga coped brilliantly with his work, earning honor and respect from film critics and viewers.
