A young Turkish girl, Heyyar, lost all her relatives in an operation carried out by Turkish security forces against members of the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) in eastern Turkey. A neighbor brings the shocking Heyyar to Istanbul to visit her cousin. However, the apartment was soon stormed by the police. All the adults died. Heyar miraculously survived, hiding in a wall closet. The judge's housekeeper, who lives in the apartment opposite, finds a girl. The elderly man is not happy about what happened, however, leaves the frightened child with him.
