Helmut Berger

Helmut Berger was thrown into the starry sky when director Lukino Visconti chose him from a host of extras and offered the lead role in The Damned. Helmut Steinberger was born in Salzburg, Austria, but grew up in Stuttgart. He studied acting in Italy, at the University of Perugia. Helmut Berger can rightly be called an international-class star, he is filmed in all European and American countries, he works without respite on television of the Old and New Worlds, and somewhere there is time to take the director's chair.
