The Scarlet Letter is a 1979 miniseries based on the novel of the same name that aired on WGBH from March 3, 1979 to March 24, 1979. The series is four episodes long, 60 minutes each. Part 2 won the 1979 Emmy Award for Outstanding Video Tape Editing for a Limited Series or Special for film editors Ken Denisoff, Janet McFadden, and Tucker Wiard.
In 1979, when most literary programs were being produced in the United Kingdom, Boston public television station WGBH decided to produce a homegrown literary classic of its own. The result is this epic version of Nathaniel Hawthorne's enduring novel of Puritan America in search of its soul. Hester Prynne overcomes the stigma of adultery to emerge as the first great heroine in American literature. Hawthorne's themes, the nature of sin, social hypocrisy, and community repression, still reverberate through American society.
Meg Foster brings a quiet strength to the role of Hester, the adulteress condemned to wear a scarlet "A" for the rest of her life. As her partner in crime, the Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale, John Heard writhes in private torment most convincingly. Kevin Conway completes this grim triangle as the mysterious, maleficent Roger Chillingworth. The costumes and scenery are simple, so as not to detract from the dialogue as each character grapples with the meaning of sin, forgiveness, and redemption. close

Back in 2002, Jos Wedon and Jeff Loeb came up with the idea of an animated version of the series “Buffy the vampire slayer”, aka “Buffy the vampire slayer”, the action of which was to take place at the very beginning of the story, in the area of the first season. At the time the Angel had just appeared, but we didn't know he was Angelus. Buffy's mother was alive and the master villain was alive. The team was still young and not vicious.
“Buffy’s animated series was intended for a wider audience than the series itself because there was no need to follow everything from episode to episode, season to season,” Jeff said. “The story is very simple. There is a chosen schoolgirl who must fight evil concentrated in her hometown of Sunnydale. She has friends who help her and an observer who guides them all to the right path.
It's easier in the cartoon. You can draw an army of monsters and not worry about how much the services of stuntmen, doubles, make-up artists and other expenses will cost. Alison Hannigan, Nicholas Brandon and Anthony Stewart Head were ready to voice their characters. But finding a TV channel to invest in the project was a big challenge. There was always something wrong with the concept of the series. One thing or another. Finally, Fox Family gave the project the green light, going to run the series on Fox Kids. But the next revisions with Disney left the project on the sidelines. All that's left is a three-minute version of the pilot, which leaked online in early August. Fans around the world immediately responded to the video and organized an online petition in support of the project.
In fact, why not?? The comic book series, which became an alternative eighth season for the series, was quite popular among fans of the series. From the advent of the animated series, no one will get worse. close

'Three's Company', the comedy centered on two attractive, young women who made the rent on their Santa Monica beach-side apartment by taking in a third roommate - a male forced to pretend he's gay to fool the landlords and the girls' parents. The series rocketed in the ratings as an instant hit - despite the outcry of critics and moralists - who objected to the double-entendres and quasi-sexual hijinks on the show. However, the true behind-the-scenes story of 'Three's Company' will expose a once idyllic workplace that deteriorated into a battleground beset by business dealings, contact disputes, cast rivalries, clashes between producers and network executives and finally, a round of cast replacements which hastened the demise of the show. close
