Abhorrent film adaptation and just very boring series Yeah, I love both games and decided to give the show a chance, even though Ellie was mutilated. The introduction is not bad, but then begins a fierce treshanin.
The actors, for the most part, are completely different from their heroes, and their characters were changed, Joel instead of a rude cynic and master of survival became an old, helpless slob, whom everyone is not too lazy to kick. At the same time, it is funny that in Game of Thrones, Pedro Pascal really looked like Joelle, but by the adaptation of The Last of Us, he gained weight and swelling. Tommy from a nice charismatic guy, ready to do anything for loved ones, became a completely faceless type. Tess from a tough, but charming and pretty girl, turned into a swollen old manebaba. At the same time, the actress who played Tess is quite a pretty girl in real life, and if you dye her hair and change her haircut, she could pass for a character from the game. But instead, makeup artists cast her twenty years, and the writers wrote for her blonde lines, which is why she does not look like her character at all.
Ellie. Well, Ellie's a total thrash. In addition to the fact that she is completely different from the character of the game (completely different facial features and physique), makeup artists seem to also specifically emphasize her external shortcomings, without trying to smooth them out. You could at least dress her decently and cover her huge protruding forehead with bangs so that the differences in appearance did not cut her eyes so much, but why? But all right, to hell with him, with appearance, but Bella Ramsay also plays terribly emotionless, while constantly swearing, bullying and in every possible way demonstrates her ' Cool' It's just so painful to watch.
Not without edits in important plot moments: many scenes look banal worse than what was in the game. Some moments just became fainter, while others look frankly ridiculous. Also, the writers changed the backstory of a number of characters, threw out almost the entire action from the film adaptation, but added a lot of dull branches about third-party characters who are perceived as completely unnecessary. After all, most people familiar with the source come for a dark story about survival in a post-apocalyptic world, and not for an hour-long drama about the elderly gays (series three). In the game, the orientation of this character was mentioned in passing and did not cause rejections, but here a whole series was dedicated to this, along the way changing the finale of the story.
Initially, I had very high hopes for the film adaptation of The Last of Us. After all, this is a really interesting, cinematic series of games, with excellent staging, powerful plot and scripted characters - an excellent material for a film adaptation. But in the end, we got what we got. It is sad that people who did not pass the game will now be judged by the series by a terrible series in the worst traditions of The Walking Dead.
