Began to get acquainted with the work waiting for some epic on the basis of the civil war. I think I got it formally. But the implementation of many important things for such a canvas was too weak.
1. It is declared that the film is about friendship, but it is primarily a melodrama. There is a strong bias towards solid “love does not like”.
2. The development of characters is very weak. They're wooden from start to finish.
3. The weakness of warmaking. It doesn't feel like war. There's not much cruelty or anything else that makes you feel the horror of what's happening. It's more of a commotion.
4. An attempt to show slave owners as kind. It's a familiar song. We have such wonderful attempts in the cinema. Agitka, to put it more clearly.
5. The purpose of some characters in the story remained unclear. It seems that the branches continued the entire timekeeping. They end in nothing. Put it away and nothing would really change.
In general - it feels not folding, crumpled, but watchable.
