A masterpiece. Everything Pixar did (at least back then) was amazing, and each time it was different, completely different, with a bunch of ideas and a cascade of feelings. Their cartoons are suitable for all ages, children see in them one layer, adults another, serious questions are always raised in a joking form and revealed as fully as is rarely the case in ordinary cinema. I also liked how all the head mechanics were worked out, how all the feelings, memories and dreams cling to each other. A couple of scenes really hit the feelings. And let’s just say... I liked that one character really died, not fake. That is, the authors did not bow down to “let’s protect children from everything in the world”, but showed how the child grows up and along the way forgets part of the child’s magic, and in return acquires something more – a better version of himself.
The film is very pretentious. A score of 5 out of 10 is an overestimation. The film just smells like vulgar American, she just oozes from every hole, and there are a lot of holes.
