From Paris with love When you want warmth, bright colors and romance, you can remember such a wonderful city as Paris, and even more romanticizing the situation, you can move the time frame a little back from the modern entourage of the metropolis in the cabaret era. In the new cartoon by Bibo Birgeron and Luc Besson, the action takes place during a flood, as reported by the very superfluous black and white retro chronicles at the very beginning.
Given that the water at the Eiffel Tower here plays almost no role, appearing only as the final background of intense action, to specify the time of what is happening was not necessary. A similar addition came out and the epilogue, and built into the credits of the flight scene. To complete the plot with a performance would be a much more correct decision than the authors of the cartoon decided to inflate at the end, apparently having so much emphasis on the plot, instead of entertaining tricks, that it was necessary to at least surprise and capture the spirit at the end.
But despite the small share of built-in jokes, almost all of them are successful. 3-4 moments are especially remembered, in the spirit of a singing monkey or an unsuccessful thief, but conversational jokes in the lyrics will mix much better than the comic situations shown. However, I repeat, the story told interests the creators of the cartoon much more than tricks and humor.
Three bright musical numbers will hardly give reason to call the picture a musical, but for the whole of 2011 there is almost no song that can compare with the splendor of the track “La Seine”, and therefore the main advantage of this animation project can be called music.
As for the animation of the characters and the environment, the cartoon is very nice and pleasant. There will be no delights or stunning application of technology, but the added volume and the overall bright range contribute to the immersion in the entourage of the tape, and the characters are one more fun than another: the main character with the appearance of a leprechaun, his friend grief-inventor in a straw outfit, a beautiful singer as a central visual diamond, and finally the most important thing: an extremely intelligent monkey with tablets of the prepared text and ... a singing giant flea!
Watching the musical and detective adventures of these bright characters is fascinating, despite the similarities with many other works to which intentional or not intentional references are made. After all, “Monster in Paris” does not look like an unnecessary collection of homages, like some “Monsters vs. Aliens”, and does not look wildly secondary, parasitic on someone’s fame, fame and success. It turned out to be an independent and self-sufficient animated film, pleasant and exciting, bright and beautiful, and most importantly - romantic.
The latter quality helps to achieve not a “children’s”, but a “family” cartoon, without a stupid distinction between jokes on children and adults, than Hollywood cartoon-busters regularly sin, without bombastic seriousness with banal morality. This cartoon will be interesting for children, entertain adults and is highly recommended for couples in love and young families. The cartoon of the genre of “romantic comedy” is a great alternative to many other animated films, and the French atmosphere with its European flavor will completely drag into its special, magical world.
The opening action from Paris with love gives a sea of impressions and positive! Animation with juicy content should not leave indifferent the viewer of any age, funny jokes, beautiful music and pleasant animation will present together a high-quality French product with famous creators and performers, and a soulful cartoon about a talented singing monster will be remembered for a long time!
