Sergey Kurginyan was born in Moscow on November 14, 1949. Sergey Kurginyan was born in Moscow on November 14, 1949. After school, which he graduated with a gold medal, Sergey went to study at the Moscow Geological Exploration Institute at the Faculty of Geophysics. After successfully defending his diploma, he entered postgraduate studies, after which in 1978 he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. As a researcher, Kurginyan worked for ten years at the Institute of Oceanology. From 1984 to 1986 he was a researcher at the Moscow Geological Exploration Institute.
In 1983, he successfully graduated from the Shchepkin Moscow Theatre Institute with a degree in "drama directing". The experimental Theatre-Studio created by him in his student days in 1986 received the status of a state theater. Sergey Kurginyan’s Theatre “On Boards” supports a philosophical and rather interesting and unusual approach to phenomena in modern society. In 1987, the Experimental Creative Center was established on the basis of the avant-garde theater. In 1989, the International Public Foundation "Experimental Creative Center" was opened, the president of which was Sergey Kurginyan.
Kurginyan combines successful theatrical activity with analytics in the political world. In 1990, he ran for People's Deputies of the RSFSR with the program of national salvation of Russia. Due to differences in views with Mikhail Gorbachev, Kurginyan refused to become his adviser in 1991. In 1993, he became an adviser to Khasbulatov. According to Kurginyan, he participated in the dismissal of General Lebed.
His views and reflections on the political life of the country were reflected in his books “The Seventh Scenario”, “Isav and Jacob: The Fate of Development in Russia and the World”, “The Essence of Time”, “Political Tsunami”, “Swinging”, “Weakness of Power”.
