Yuri Senkevich was born on March 4, 1937 in Choibalsan (Mongolia). In 1960 he graduated from the Military Medical Academy in Leningrad. In 1962 he was transferred to Moscow to the Institute of Aviation and Space Medicine of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR. Yuri Senkevich was born on March 4, 1937 in Choibalsan (Mongolia). In 1960 he graduated from the Military Medical Academy in Leningrad. In 1962 he was transferred to Moscow to the Institute of Aviation and Space Medicine of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR. In 1963 he was seconded to the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Ministry of Health of the USSR. From 1973 to 1982 he worked as head of the department of scientific, medical and technical information. In 1973, he was invited to Central Television as the host of the program “The Travellers Club”. The transfer is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
Senkiewicz made several sea voyages with Thor Heyerdahl - first on the papyrus boat "Ra", then on the "Ra-2" and on the "Tigris".
In 1997, he was elected an academician of the Russian Television Academy, the program "Travelers Club" was awarded the highest award of the Russian television TEFI.
Senkevich was president of the Association of Travelers of Russia, a member of the Union of Journalists of Russia, co-chairman of the Fund for International Humanitarian Aid and Cooperation.
He is the author of more than 60 works in the field of space physiology and psychology and the study of man in extreme conditions. He wrote his memoir, “A Journey into Life.”
By presidential decree, Yuri Senkevich was awarded the Order "For Services to the Fatherland" of the IV degree.
