Capitolina Ilyenko was born on November 2, 1904 on the outskirts of Yaroslavl in a noble family. His father was a military doctor, and then a land doctor, his mother raised children. The family was very creative: mom sang, danced and played the piano, dad - on the cello, brothers - on the guitar, mandolin and violin. Capitolina from childhood showed interest in creativity and actively took part in family music festivals. She wrote and performed whole performances.
After the 1917 revolution, the family had to move near Moore. Her father got a job as a doctor at the shipyard, and Capitolina began working as a nurse there. Simultaneously with work, the girl studied in a private theater studio of actress E. I. Kirova. However, within the framework of a small studio, the future actress was cramped, and she decided to go to Moscow, enter a theater school. The mother strictly forbade Capitolina to become an actress, so as not to shame the noble family. In addition, it was September in the yard, and classes at the school had already begun. Despite all these obstacles, Kapitolina still left for Moscow without money and maternal blessing and was able to convince the commission of her talent that she was accepted immediately for the second year of GITIS.
Upon graduation, Kapitolina Ilyenko got a job at the UMZP (theater at the Management of Spectacular Moscow Enterprises). Stanislavsky offered her to go to the Moscow Art Theater, but the young actress did not appreciate the importance of the offer and declined the invitation, which she regretted later for the rest of her life.
In 1929, the actress moved to the IV studio of the Moscow Art Theatre and worked there until 1937. Dissatisfaction with theaters led to their frequent change. So, after 1937, Kapitolina Ilyenko tried to work in the Theater of Transport, the Theater of the Revolution, the theaters of Chita, Aldan, Yakutsk, Inta, Rybinsk.
In 1961, the actress finally found her “own” theater, which became “Contemporary”. I had to start with episodes, but the actress was satisfied, and she stayed in this theater for many years (1961-1977). Simultaneously with the work in “Contemporary” the actress appears in the cinema, although mainly in small episodic roles.
The first big work in the cinema was the role of a village old woman – Nastya’s woman in the film.
picture "Balamut" . Noisy success came to the actress in 80 years after the role in the film “Life, and tears, and love”, and for the actress began a period of many filming and travel to various film studios of the country.
