Alexey Semenovich Kozlov was born in 1935 in Moscow. Graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute. He worked as a researcher in the VNII of technical aesthetics. Despite the ideological prohibitions of the 50-60s, he independently mastered the art of jazz. He organized the first jazz clubs in Moscow. In 1973 he created the jazz-rock ensemble Arsenal, which became one of the most popular bands in the USSR. He released six long-playing records and several CDs. He is the author of Rock: Origins
