In her youth, she dreamed of becoming an archaeologist - reconstructing the past, solving the mysteries of history. Neither an actress nor a director was she going to become. But fate made a steep zigzag and now she reconstructs on the stage the plans of the screenwriters, solves the cause-and-effect riddles of the behavior of the heroes, the power of imagination creates sketches of mise-en-scene.
Actress of Russian theater and cinema, director Julia Aug was born in a family of nuclear physicists in 1970 in Leningrad, and her childhood and youth passed in Narva (Estonia). True, at the dawn of her foggy youth, her mother was also fond of theater, but the sentence of her grandmother was severe: "No bohemian!" Julia’s parents also at first saved from the bohemian, categorically not allowed to go to study “on the artist”. And then she, taking into account her and her mother’s sad experience, “quietly”, immediately after passing the final exams, went to enter the Leningrad LGITMIK. The girl from a good family told her strict parents about her act after the colloquium, and their reaction was completely unexpected: “Well, if you want to.”
She graduated from the Institute in 1993 and was immediately accepted into the St. Petersburg Theatre of Young Spectators named after A.A. Bryantsev. One of the last performances of Julia in this theater was “Portrait of Gogol” directed by G. Trostyanitsky. Moreover, the director did not impose his vision of the roles on the actors, but forced them to “recreate” stage images. Yulia, who had five roles in this performance, was “recreated” to the fact that she approached the premiere as an assistant director, and then completely entered GITIS at the director’s faculty, where she became her teacher.
Joseph Reichelgauz . In 2007, Julia became a student of the Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Directors.
One of her first directorial works was the play “The Holy Case”, which was staged at the Dzerzhinsky Drama Theater. In addition, she put “Not by bread alone” and “Sakura jam”.
Not to mention the work of Julia in the cinema. She was filmed in
"Volkov Hour" "Streets of Broken Lanterns,"
"Master and Margarita" "The Wizard's Kidnapping,"
"Sunset" "My Sweet Chiger," "The Redemptive Sacrifice," "Durand's Curse." And when in 2007 the film M. Mozhar “Enemies” was released, Julia was awarded at the international film festival “Baltic Debuts” with the prize “For Best Actress”. Most of all, her mother rejoiced for her, who once read Julia’s scientific future. /
