The great-great-grandson of the famous Russian poet Apollo Maikov, Pavel Maikov, grew up as a lazy boy. However, when he was 5 years old, the family moved to Kiev, but the character of the boy, of course, did not change. His tricks many times forced to grasp the validol and mother, and school teachers, until one day everyone was tired. The question of expulsion from school, as they say, became an edge (in the tenth grade), and his mother said that he could go to apologize and explain himself. She won't do that again. In the office of the director, Pavel issued such a felt monologue on the topic “Do not ruin the life of a young person, do not deprive the world cinema of a future movie star”, that the director flinched.
After graduating from school, Pavel went to enroll in the Shchukin School and ... failed the first exam miserably. His recitation was characterized by one word: "Awful."
The guy was offended and did not submit documents anywhere else. He worked as a courier, a delivery man, even was an assistant at the thimbles. But life sooner or later puts everything in place. Pavel “stuck” to the moving puppet theater and began to take lessons in theater skills. A new attempt to do so ended in another failure. But in the theater studio "Mirror" he was taken. And the courses in the Moscow Art Theater, supplemented by practical work experience in the theater, finally helped to become a student of GITIS.
Pavel began to act in student days, but the debut, as they say, failed. The Korean film "Mercenary Ivan" was frankly weak, and in Russia, to the great satisfaction of Maikov, was not shown. The thesis performance “Two Veronians”, as Paul later admitted, was also by and large “not very”, although the audience liked it. At the end of GITIS, Maikov worked in different theaters, starred in extras in movies, was a TV presenter and ... gradually lost interest in the once coveted acting profession. The case helped: they recruited a troupe in the Metro. Paul barely pulled the audition, but got the role, the smallest. And realizing that he sings badly, he began to study vocals. A month before the premiere, he was offered the main role, however, in the second composition.
The grand success of the musical allowed Maikov to realize one long-standing dream: in the theater. The Moscow Council gave him a role in the play “Jesus Christ – Superstar”. This rock opera Paul loved since childhood. Then there were roles.
And many more movies. Mikey got his way. /
